Never Cruel or Cowardly
|
I hereby renounce my affirmation of the Concordat and henceforth do not want to be recognized as a citizen. I do so with a shout-out to many of the people that have made my experience in TEP fantastic - including Prussia, Xoriet, Topi, Ramaeus and of course, the always lovely and brilliant ASBS. During my time as Magister, I hope I have contributed to the depth and quality of the legislature, pursuing reforms of our Magisterium requirements (towards pluralism and comprehensiveness), democratic reforms (Instant Runoff voting) and starting a serious and passionate dialogue on what TEP's role should be interregionally. Despite this, I did not get to all of the reforms I had intended to pursue such as a gender-neutral reading of the Concordat, a discussion on lobbying and electoral reform and a changing of the standing orders of the Magisterium to require 24 hours of drafting before a vote. While change is almost always accomplished against the wishes of those institutionalized in power, change is integral and necessary to a healthy community. My hope is citizens will not consider my situation and the legal allegations proposed against me as indicative of all those seek wide reform - and that they continue to challenge authority, think for themselves and above all else, be critical and imaginative. I think now, however, is my time to bow out - thanks again to everyone who made my experience here a really fun and wonderful time. You're awesome. Have a good one.

The Magisterium thanks you for your service and wishes you well on your journeys. We did butt heads now and then, but your willingness to address issues was welcome. |
