Nations of The East Pacific, The election of the past month was an interesting one. During the election cycle, I outlined my plan for the Delegacy-a plan that resonated with so many of you. And then we have Old Federalia's plan. A plan that received a large amount of support, too-one that I would be remiss not to examine and subsume parts of into my plan for the region. My plan for The East Pacific (TEP) revolves around building on the successes of the previous administration and eliminating its...few defects. First-off, a welcoming atmosphere is needed. We've had a few prominent citizens interrogating new citizens, because they hold political beliefs that the interrogators view as toxic. The interrogators opinions of their targets proved unfounded, as their targets proved themselves to be loyal, hard-working members of our region. I plan to solve this problem by implementing a mentor program. Having someone who's main tasks are to guide new citizens, address their concerns, and answer questions will lead to an environment where interrogations of citizens becomes a preventable rarity. The Directorate and Foreign Affairs-two topics that can be addressed quickly. The former-a program that works well-is one that will be kept as intact as possible, as you have seen by now. The only dramatic changes have been in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-which has a new Minister and Deputy Minister-and in the newly renamed Ministry of Immigration-which now has a Minister. Some of you have questioned the need for some Ministries in the Directorate. Let me answer those questions. These Ministries exist to lighten the work-load of the Delegate. They are needed now more than ever. TEP, and all of NationStates, has entered "The Summer Lull"-a period where activity drops across the game. With the help of my Ministers, I plan on minimizing the damage that this Summer Lull may cause. Finally, the topic of Foreign Affairs. I've inherited a region who is respected by our fellow GCRs. We've negotiated treaties with three GCRs friendly to our interests. This is an excellent way to start our FA plans. To further these plans, more treaties with fellow GCRs will appear. Who our treaty-targets are is something that will not be disclosed here. I've droned on more than I intended, so I'll make this conclusion short. The biggest difficulty that TEP faces is combating the Summer Lull-something that hopefully won't be too difficult with the Ministers that have been appointed to the Directorate. They are capable, active, and committed. Ex oriente lux! |
