I would also be interested in hearing your views of the current state of affairs in The Pacific, the NPO actions and activities with other GCRs, and our former delegate, AMOM. |

Hey guys! Sorry for the delay! As a Senator of the NPO, most of my career was usually done inside the walls rather than outside. From trying to set up different cultural projects, many which eventually and unfortunately failed due to several different and honestly at this point no longer relevant reasons, as well as to try to regularly do media releases, which ends up being hard when no one seems to be willing to write. I was also tasked with advising Krull and eventually also with assisting with administrative duties. I eventually also took care of reviving NPO's Diplomatic Corps, and to befriend again both Game Create Regions as well as some User Created Regions that I felt were growing and were not going to suddenly disappear again from the maps. I think I was fairly good at it, even when many of my ideals and plans were not always well received by former members of the Senate who had other - now famous - plans and projects. In TWP, I'm currently part of their transition endorsees, as there will be a new delegate in the region at some near point in the future. Once there is a new delegate, the role may or may not change, at the decision of the Delegate, whoever he/she is. I've been also Speaker to their Regional Assembly, governing body of their off-site forum government, also Prime Minister for about 10 minutes till I dissolved it all and call for a Constitutional Convention to create a new charter/constitution and off-site forum government. My future plans for TEP, well, that is tied with what has always been my personal goal of being an active participant of every feeder. I called that a Pan-Pacifican citizen, without that meaning the feeders needed at no point be joined themselves. I personally believe each and every feeder has its own characteristics and personalities - as regions - and that something can be learned from all of them, and so I embarked on that quest to become at least semi-active in all the five feeders. With my departure from TP's active duty, and my expelling of TSP, where I wasn't so active anyway, I got invited to give some more time to TEP, which as TSP was the other feeder where I have not yet become so involved. So, here I am giving it a try. I must be honest I have no real hard-written plans of what I want to do, if other than being a normal commenting magister, but at least this far I'm interesting in assisting with the ESPN and perhaps help re-run the University somehow. I still need to check details and see how much can I actually do for that one. |

I'm not sure what you mean by "Current State of Affairs", exactly. I'm a Retired Senator now and barely active, and as far as I know, Senator Pierconium is now active again and trying to help Krull and Aleysir rebuild Pacifica. You must understand and realize that The Pacific was my first nation's birthplace, and the NPO the first off-site government I joined, and it will never stop being one of my homes. I don't like what happened, how it happened and why it happened, and I departed for this reason from my Senatorship. That does not means I'm Krull or Pierconium or Aleysir's foe, they are actually friends to me and they will remain so. The NPO actions and activities with other feeders as of when I became Senator of Foreign Affairs, and arrived here as ambassador, are the only ones I can honesty testify about, and I always acted quite openly about them. I didn't involved myself with Sinkers, and just barely stroke an attempt to a friendly relationship with TRR. Feux was always in charge of the TP-Sinkers relationship, and since RL can get busy for me, and I don't usually like to step on another fireman's hose, I kept away from them, until the Lazarus clique exploded and people I heavily dislike was involved. AMOM: I've always considered him quite a capable individual, but with one of the most annoying attitudes ever. We never got along, and overall, he thought I was Pacifica's most useless senator as I commit what he sees as the sin of being "emotional". He goes - for me - in the same bag as Milograd and Gaspo as "Traitors who I never trusted, and who I will never trust". |

I don't think I know TEP deep enough to be able to predict what I would like to change. I must say that the government structure seems, to new comers, complex and hard to read. I'd perhaps endeavor to introduce either a simplification of terms, but that would erode culture, or simply propose an easier way for new comers to understand how it works. That could probably link with the University comments I made previously, too. |

Thank you for your answers, Elegarth. Another set: Could you clarify the situation in Lazarus and its surrounding events prior to April 6, and your knowledge (or lack thereof) of the impending coup? The West Pacific was the only feeder to not condemn the NPO for its actions in Lazarus. Furthermore, the case of your election as Prime Minister also was, I don't know, sketchy with Vlagh's involvement? Are you aware of plans, if any, for TWP in the future? |

There are several misconceptions there, I'm afraid, and so I'll need to clarify them as I answer the thing. First of all, as I mentioned, I mainly concentrated on Feeders and some UCRs when I started doing all the FA of NPO, mainly because I was born into this realm in the old feederite / userite era, and was / am a big feederite myself, if you may, and also because, as I saw it, Feux had already exiting connections / friendships / contacts and he said he was going to take care of it. Furthermore, at that point, Funk was still the Delegate of Laz and I signed him up to help me on Diplo Corps (and I was honestly planning him to become my right hand man there, and eventually - since I know he is a capable guy - perhaps even become a good candidate for senator). So, my involvement with the sinkers was limited, at most, and the only time I actually had some active relationship with Lazarus was during their Sovereignty conference. With that said, I do know that all the calls about an "impeding" coup are quite - with no disrespect to you - stupid. Since long time ago Lazarus was an allied of NPO on many levels, even during Milo's, Feux's and Funk's delegacies, and they were quite independent. One of the things that most shocked me of the PR they did after the actual issue started was saying that Laz was always NPO's, when in reality, we were close but we - The Senate of the NPO - didn't made calls or decisions on their delegate's actions. This is an honest question. If Milo or Feux or Funk did them with the interest of getting closer or farther from Pacifica, that is on their own, but neither Krull nor myself - then Emperor and Regent - ever ordered or told them what to do at any rate. Hell, even the time Laz and Osiris made a war-game, I was mostly annoyed they didn't tried to fix things in a nice manner or find a diplomatic way to solve it, and only after Lazarus had asked our support I delivered the NPO response to Osiris. Now well, there eventually came Stu's regime. I don't honestly know how or went did Stu became delegate, as I said, I rarely messed with Sinker Affairs. However, one of the first things I recall from Stu was how he wanted NPO and Lazarus to become closer, even to merge. That is the word STU used. Back then, while a weird thing to be honest, I simply suggested that should both REGIONS desire to fuse into some off-site merged institution, the best way to do it was through the diplomatic method, public documents stating the rights and responsibilities of each party, what such an endeavor would entitle, etc. A legal joining of two sovereign entities deciding to become one. That is my way of doing everything. As I honestly was in no contact with Lazarus general population, I simply thought Stu was not voicing a personal desire of his, but I guessed / assumed / thought the actual people of Lazarus was in. I said I would gladly help with the writing / planning / preparation of such a document, and then simply continued my work in feeders and stuff, and Feux was to continue working with Stu. An important note here: most of NPO affairs - if related to Feux - were done via Skype, and I not always have Skype access from work. Some days it will log in, some days it won't, so I missed many conversations and groups, and what not, and I can't declare for those. Anyway, that was the last thing I heard, before I had to take a two/three weeks time mostly off due to work related issues, before Holy Week (which is a national Holiday down here, and hence I was off all week). When I came back, everything was a mess, Stu had kicked Funk, deleted some documents from Laz site, and Feux was running some sort of "radio silence" that left me with little to no information, either in front or back channels - of what the hell was actually happening. While I tried to find out, which took me a couple days, and a couple of heated arguments with Feux, I realized Feux had moved - apparently on Stu's haste - with the mess you now know as Lazarus Coup. The rest is history, I resigned the Senate in good terms with Krulltopia - who I consider my friend nowadays - and distanced myself from a way of doing things that I don't agree with. Don't take me wrong, contrary to MANY people, I don't ride a high moral horse or pretend what I'm not. NPO has always been this game's evil bad wolf, and I'm cool with it. But I think Feux wrong of the Lazarus thing was careless, inexperienced, immature and worst of all, didn't consider the wishes and needs of the community, which was to me the drop that made the glass spill over. Anyway, regarding TWP, you need to stop listening to Llamas and Unibot. I've been deeply involved in TWP since, lacking anyone else willing to, I stepped up and took the mantle of Speaker of their Regional Assembly and tried to do something with it, with the rising community. There wasn't anything "sketchy" with Vlaghs actions. TWP has a very different philosophical point of view of the in-game off-game relationship - one that day to day I realize makes total sense and would avoid a LOT of pain for many people - and the link between the In-Game and Off-Game is the Minister of Legislative RP, this is, Vlagh. Since the game itself provides no other government mechanics other than that of the delegacy, then any government formed off-site, like TEP's Magisterium for example, could be considered role played in TWP's philosophy, and hence, falls into the oversight of Vlagh's position. Plus, the immediate thing I did was take all powers off my prime minister position and transition them to a Constitutional Convention - free participation - for a new role played off-site government to be born out of it. Plans for TWP in the future? Well, yes, I have many, as I'm one of the new guardians that will protect TWP's life style once Darkesia's delegacy is over. On how or why are you connecting this to TWP not condemning NPO, I have no clue what you want me to say. If you understood / realized TWP's philosophy, you'd realize there is no condemnation possible against any delegate elected through the game mechanics. Please, bear in mind a clear distinction here: if you judge TWP's actions and decisions FROM your personal philosophy, the result will be inconsistent and will lead you to a series of wrong assumptions and results that will simply not match TWP's view of it. If you judge other regions actions and decisions from the perspective of TWP's philosophy, you will get the same result. To understand TWP you NEED to understand its philosophical background regarding the game, else you will not be able to realize their true implications. Just make sure you don't destroy a forum community, which is the one thing TWP will NEVER EVER forgive or forget. |
