I've been playing NS off an on over the last few years, but all together I would say about 2 or 3 years. I won't get very deep into why it was so off and on but I will say I was having to move around a lot due in part to the fact most of the roommates I had would rather party than pay bills. All the shuffling around finally ended when I moved home to take care of my mother. Which I have to say is a much better place to live, water doesn't get shut of every other week and we have internet and cable that only gets shut off when they do maintenance.

As for the second part of your question I believe my favorite part of the game is the fact that on here we're all heads of state. Even though we all just a person behind a keyboard on here we're the leaders of the "free world", corporate states or Communist Dictators. I find it just fascinating to watch us all get on here and interact together as a world community. There's no other game I've played like this. Where a few lines of text could determine whether you and your new neighbors are going to get a long, or if you're going to be the last bastion of Communism on a continent filled with Democratic countries. On the flip side seeing two sides who in real life would never dare to hear out the words of their adversaries come together and find a means to make peace, or raise a flaming sword forging a united front to strike down tyrannical forces who would seek to overwhelm and consume the countries around them. It's always nice seeing two foes unite to prevent manifest destiny from taking place.
