Dobry Vechar!! This is Aleksander Romanevich bringing you the evening news from Respublika Bielarus. More information is being unraveled in the resignation of President Andrei Ravkov. It is believed that he was involved in a number of scandals including money laundering, tax evasion, and prostituion. When the people found out about it, they could not believe what they had heard. The people took to the streets in protest and demanded that the money be returned to the people rather than to be kept by the government. Following the decision to revert the language the Belarusian, tension arose in the Parliament and many critics criticized the government for lack of clairity. The Prime Ministers office then released an offical statement and this is what it says: "We realize that there has been some confusion regarding the revert to Belarusian as the National language. This means that Belarusian is the legal language of the country and must be required to be taught in all schools. Russian is a recognized language of signifigance meaning that it will continue to be used in laws, school, and work. Respublika Bielarus will continue to protect and preserve the Belarusian and Russian languages." Later on the Minister of Economics, Elnur Yakovlev, announced that a new currency would be adopted by July 1st. On July 1st, the New Bielarusian Ruble will take over the current currency of the country. It is believed that this will reduce inflation by nearly 5%, thus bringing the inflation rate down to 3%. Thats all for now. God bless you all. Spakojnaj nochy! |

Greetings from Respublika Bielarus! This is Svetlana once again bringing you the early morning news from Respublika Bielarus News Now! Our top story this morning, Former President Andrei Ravkov appeared in court on Thursday and Friday of this past week and pleaded not guilty to all counts against him. The Constitutional Court has decided that all charges against him are valid and that sentencing will most likely happen in the coming weeks. A major twist in the political scene of the Parliament, as members of the ruling All Bielarusian Union Fatherland party joined forces with the Conservative Party of Bielarus and the Bielarusians for a Change Party. This means one of two things. The first is that more positions in the Cabinet of Ministers will have to be opened up for all the different parties and that all Parties in the coalition have close to or exact equal say on what occurs in the country. Our next story is that a new Interim President was chosen today. Slava Matinova, sister of former President Alexander Matinov , was sworn in as President yesterday morning. This comes following the death of her brother and the sacking of former Interim President Mr. Ravokv. She has promised to fix the Constitution, including when it comes to Parliament and voting. Our final story is that nearly 4,500 soldiers have been arrested in a plot to overthrow the Government of Prime Minister Slava Kuznyetsova. This is the largest arrest in the history of the country and of the military. Many generals have been sacked and are awaiting trial. Minister of Defense, Alexandra Ryabova promised an immediate investigation into the coup plotters and who it was directly aimed at. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here at Respublika Bielarus News Now! Have a blessed day![edit_reason]Small change to title [/edit_reason] Edited by Respublika Bielarus, Sep 5 2016, 09:28:59 PM.

Greetings East Pacific! This is Aleksander Romanevich bringing you the nightly news from Minsk. Our top story, the Cabinet of Ministers will be extended to 18 members so that the coalition can have 6 members in it per party. As well, the parties will have 16 deputy ministers allotted to them. The Prime Minister and the Parliament said that this is the best way to add division and diversity into the Cabinet. This will be the second-largest cabinet behind that of former Prime Minister Alexander Matinov. An update from last night, 4,500 soldiers were arrested in a potential coup. The Minister of Defense, as well as the Interior Minister, have launched an official investigation into the possible coup against the Parliament. The Minister of Defense announced from his office, "We believe that these soldiers were brainwashed by the New Revolutionary Order of Bielarus. Luckily, multiple soldiers overheard the plot and reported it to the government. It is believed that the AirForce might be involved as well and we will investigate into it." Internal Affairs troops were the ones who made the arrest. It is unknown where the soldiers are being held. An opposition coalition of 78 members was formed in Parliament. We do not know what parties it is or who the members are, but the government coalition has informed us that this opposition government is no match to that of the coalition, which consists of nearly 300 members. Acting President Matinova amended the Constitution this morning to make room for more Representatives and Councillors in the Parliament. The new House of Representatives will include 675 members, while the Councillors will include 500 members. This is going to be the largest Parliament ever formed. According to a statement from the President's office, "Elections will only take place to add in the new members. 225 for the House and 275 for the Council." That is all for now. Good evening East Pacific!!! This is Svetlana bringing you the nightly news from Respublika Bielarus. Earlier today, President Slava Matinova gave a speech before a joint session of Parliament. In it she talked about the economy, Parliamentary affairs, terrorism, corruption, debt, the budget, the military, and the recent coup plot. "It is my full belief, that the recent coup plot was directed at the Parliament and the new Government of Prime Minister Slava Kuznyetsova. This plot, created by the New Revolutionary Order, was foiled by the troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Bielarusian Navy. We thank them for their courage in foiling this plot and defending the new government. But this is not our only threat. More threats against our democracy will come in time. This is the norm. But I say to you, members of Parliament and citizens of Bielarus, no matter where these threats come from, we will prevail, we will prevail, we will prevail!" Following President Matinova's speech to Parliament she took off on a plane to Vitebsk, the second capital of Bielarus. The reason for the trip is to see the economic situation in the city. She stated to our news agency that she wanted to go and see if the new currency has helped any in the city and to see how we can better create new jobs in the region. The investigation into the coup plot is continuing into this evening and it is now known that the NRO had a larger role than we last believed. The leader of the NRO, known as Pavel Karakov, was able to convince a small group of soldiers, and in turn, they convinced more. It is believed that across military lines, over 10,000 soldiers may have been involved in this coup plot. Most soldiers involved are believed to be privates or conscripts, but some have even had the rank of General. Former Minister of Defense and Interim-President Andrei Ravkov appareared in court once more today. The sentencing period has began and he was found guilty of 10 out of 47 charges. So far he had been sentenced to 12 years in Prison. The charges which he was found guilty of at this time are unknown. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us. We will have more updates for you tomorrow on all the news in Bielarus! |

A total of 85.4 million are expected to register making this the largest election in history of Bielarus. In encouraging the people to vote, Prime Minster Kuznyetsova said the following, "It is the duty of all citizens to vote so that democracy is best shown. Bielarus is a democracy and if only a handful of people vote, it will not be a democracy for much longer. Keep the values of Bielarus. Do what is right and exercise your rights to vote!" Regarding the Presidential election, former President Andrei Ravkov stated that elections would take place in November, mostly around the end of the month, but that all changed today. The coalition and opposition of the Parliament of Respublika Bielarus approved a measure today that moved the Presidential election up to August 17th. President Matinova has promised to run for election. If the election took place today, she would win by a margin of 85%-15%, the largest of any Presidential election. Developing Now: The Chief of Staff of the Army and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force have both been arrested as well as 13 Army generals and 27 Senior Airmen. It is believed that they were involved in the coup attempt. The Chief of Staff of the Navy and the Chief of Staff of the Marine Corp released a joint statement saying the following, "We are saddened and appalled by our comrades trying to overthrow the legitimate government of Respublika Bielarus. Trust between the Parliament, Army, and Air Force has been broken and it will take a long time to be fixed. Until such a time, the Navy and Marines will protect the Parliament building." A Member of the Council of the Republic went on to say, "Trust has been broken and it will take a while to be fixed. We still will always love and support our troops. The Parliament has always supported the Military and we will continue to support the military." The current government of Slava Kuznyetsova will still remain in control and if our coalition wins again, Slava will continue to lead the Cabinet of Ministers. Until such time as a new election, the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Kuznyetsova will continue until such time." The Borders of Respublika Bielarus have been shut down and all Navy ships are requested to remain within a 400 nautical mile radius of Bielarus. This is to ensure the if a coup attempt occurs that soldiers can not leave the country and that the government could easily escape by naval means if necessary. Our final story, Respublika Bielarus News Now has decided to make some changes. Following mass messaging asking for more reporters than just Svetlana and Aleksander, many reporters, including myself, will be returning to the show and many will be joining our crew. According to the new Station manager and the Minister of Information of Bielarus this change will not come quickly. "It will be a long process. This is not something that will occur overnight. Of course you will see many here that use to work with us and are returning, but then you will also see new ones. This is not to rid anyone, but it is to give newer people a chance."-statement by Minister of Information of Bielarus, Anton Ivanek. That is all for now. Though he still claims his innocence, The High Judge of the Constitutional Court said that all proof was right in front of them. Considering his political career however, his sentenced was lowered." The Election for the House and Council of the Republic now has over 7,500 candidates. Over 50 people have died following 2 bombs going off and a shootout. 250 more have been deemed injured and 12 are missing. The President responded to the attack by saying, "Stay strong Grodno. The Military and Government stand with you during this trying time. We will help you. We will not allow the terrorist to get away with it. While these elections are taking place, Regional elections will take place as well. Presidents, Parliaments, City councils, and mayors will all be elected. Following the Grodno attack, which killed 56 people and injured nearly 300 others, President Matinova has officially lifted the countries state of emergency deeming the state to be free of harm. "While we will continue to remain on constant alert to terrorist attack, we will restore the rights and freedoms of our people." Said the President. "We do believe it is the right thing to do, as we do not want to be seen as a state who takes away peoples rights and freedoms. In a recent report by the Military, 120,000 people have joined the Army; 113,000 people have joined the Navy, 97,000 has joined the Air Force; and 95,000 have joined the Marine Corps. Dobry Vechar East Pacific!! This is Svetlana Kolyana once again bringing you the News from Respublika Bielarus. Our top story, President Slava Matinova has decided once more to shut down the borders of Respublika Bielarus. She cited reports from a neighboring nation that their government was recently overthrown and is worried that the war could very well spill over into our country. "By the powers given to me in the Constitution of Respublika Bielarus, I hereby declare an official State of Emergency. Our borders are to be shut down and border troops mobilized immediately", said the President. The President met with members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff yesterday, but she will be meeting again with the Chiefs of Staff of the Coast Guard and Border Guards. "Our Coast Guard protects us in territorial waters out in the sea, while the Border Guards protect our inland borders. It is vital that both know the situation and that all members be informed right away", the President told our reporter. In other news, Elections are underway in Respublika Bielarus as now 12,500 candidates are vying for all the positions in the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic. It has been only 3 days since President Slava Matinova dissolved the Parliament and called for an even earlier election than scheduled. The reason for the dissolution of Parliament was due to the fact that some changes will be made to the Constitution due to it being out of date according the former Prime Minister Slava Kuznyetsova, who is expected to once more be Prime Minister after the election is over. When it comes to how the government is operating right now, President Matinova responded with the following, "The Government is right now under the control of me, the Presidential Council, and the Supreme Court, aside from that of the lower courts and regional governments." As well as the Federal election occurring, regional and municipal elections will be taking place as well. In all, 32,500 people are vying for government positions. As stated above, revisions to the Constitution of Respublika Bielarus will begin following the election of the new Government and once all Ministerial positions are made. The Presidential Council hasn't spoken much on it but it is believed that the President will be given broader powers, as well the Parliament will be given more power. President Matinova is a strong supporter of giving more power to the Parliament, so the Parliament will in-turn be given more power, though it is not known what. Our last story of the night, Next Monday the Respublika Bielarus Rising Start Song Contest will begin. This will be the first ever music contest in Respublika Bielarusian history. So far, a total of 112,000 people have signed up for the contest. No one is for sure who the judges will be of the contest due to some having to back out and others are still waiting on approval. Thats all for now folks! Please join us again next time |

Good morning East Pacific!! This is Alexei Kovalev bringing you the morning news of Respublika Bielarus. A New Constitution was signed into law today after Parliament voted on it and made some minor changes. The entire Constitution was re-written to include new articles and special provisions. The President announced that it was a major step in the right, democratic direction that Respublika Bielarus strives for. "We look forward to rushing in the new era of a new Constitution and new government", said President Matinova. "Our country strives for democracy and this Constitution definitely fits that vision." One of the Articles in the Constitution has made a very big change, that could be expensive for the country to complete. According to Article XII. The Military, each region is required to have a standing military force with a minimum of 25,000 soldiers, while Cities of Special Status, such as Minsk and Mogilev, are required to have standing armies of 50,000. The Governments of these regions and cities have responded by saying that while it make take time and money, they are willing to make it happen. Following the signing of the new Constitution, Regional and Cities of Special Status Government's promised to form Constitutions for their regions. This comes after the Federal Government in Minsk asked them to do so many times. The Federal Parliament passed act 2097-542.2016, which requires all Regions to form their own Constitutions within a three month time. Each region will be tasked with forming its own Parliament, which must be larger than the Federal Constitution states. Yesterday Morning, President Slava Matinova attended a ceremony in Mogilev to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Liberation of the City during the Bielarusian War for Independence. During the ceremony she announced that two titles would be bestowed upon the city, the first being that Mogilev would become the first Federal City, or City of Federal significance. The second was that the City of Mogilev would be granted the Title of Hero City. The President will remain in Mogilev until August 15th to commemorate the final liberation of Mogilev Region. The defense budget was brought up to 650 billion dollars within an extension of 200 billion allowed. The tanks that are going to be built are similar to the current T-98 tanks of the military, but they will be called the RB-100, the Respublika Bielarus-100. Good Afternoon East Pacific!! This is Svetlana Kovalev bringing you the afternoon news of Respublika Bielarus! Our top story for today, tomorrow is 100 years since the end of the Great Bielarusian Civil War. Hundreds of parades and many other events will take place tomorrow, including the famed Blue Square Military Parade, in which the new Bielarus-100 tank will be unveiled before the people and the world. President Matinova will be giving a speech in which she will praise the efforts of the government but as well will praise the rebellion, which has caused some to wonder if she is the right person for President. We will have more information on this soon. Earlier today, President Matinova signed legislation declaring the city of Baranovichi to be a Hero city. After signing the bill she had the following to say, "Baranovichi has proven itself to be a champion of Bielarusian rights, history, and nationalism. When the People's Republic of Bielarus took over the Brest and Gomel Regions earlier this year, Baranovichi's citizen grabbed their weapons and held out for nearly 2 weeks until Bielarusian Armed Forces arrived in the city. For this reason, I find it my greatest honor to declare Baranovichi to be the second Bielarusian Hero City." Breaking News Story from Gomel: A shootout with police has just begun following a 65km car chase. 5 people, who have not yet been named, escaped from prison earlier today in what led to a 65km car chase. After this they got out of the car, which was loaded with guns and ammunition, and opened fire on police and the military alike. So far, 12 people have been taken to the hospital with minor to severe injuries, and 1 person has been confirmed as being killed. A city wide state of emergency was declared and Gomel Territorial Defense Forces were deployed to the region. Our final story, the newly formed Bielarusian Territorial Defense Force has now recruited nearly 1 million people. The Territorial Defense Force, which was founded under the New Constitution, consists of an Army, Air Force, Air Defense Force, and a Paramilitary. President Slava Matinova has direct control over the Territorial Defense Force and has ordered them to deploy to each region once their training is completed. This is of course not the same as Regional Defense Forces which are fairly smaller. We thank you for joining us here today. God bless you all and have a great evening! This is Svetlana Kovalev signing off. |

Good afternoon East Pacific! This is Nicolae Albescu with the afternoon news from Respublika Bielarus! Our top story tonight, the shootout that Svetlana told you about the other night is over. 5 people, including one police officer, were taken to the hospital and supposedly in critical to life threatening condition. Over 20 people were injured in the shootout and many shop windows were destroyed due to the shooting. In all, 21 stores were vandalized in the process. All of those that caused the shootout were arrested and will be tried again on many other counts. In other news, the Respublika Bielarus Song Contest has been put on hold as of right now citing not having enough judges and not enough funds to continue the show. A spokesman for the show had the following to say, "We wish we would have planned this more and gotten more money before the show began to keep on going. Everything as the stadium was complete for us to use it, but then we ran out of money. Do not worry though, we will return!" President Slava Matinova spoke on the issue and said that she will donate the rest of the money to the show so that it can take place. Breaking News: This is a breaking News Story from Respublika Bielarus News Now. We now go live to President Slava Matinova. "People of Respublika Bielarus. As many of you well know, for days Prime Minister Slava Kuznyetsova has not been feeling well. It is with great sorrow that I announce that early this morning, Prime Minister Kuznyetsova passed away at the age of 72. She was a champion of human rights in her life, and she will be a role model for the future in her passing. We will miss her very much and she will never be forgotten in the hearts and minds of Bielarusians around the world." As mentioned above, Prime Minister Kuznyetsova was 72 years old, making her one of the oldest Prime Ministers in the history of Respublika Bielarus. As of now, no interim Prime Minister has been announced and it is sure one will not be announced until after the funeral of the Prime Minister. A spokesman for the Coalition had the following to say, "We are deeply saddened by the death of Prime Minister Kuznyetsova. She was a woman after the heart of God. She loved her countrymen, so much that she fought for their rights across the country. She was a woman who will never be forgotten in the history pages of Respublika Bielarus, and we will certainly not forget her." Due to the death of the Prime Minister, one of two things will happen, either President Matinova will allow for the continuance of Parliament, or she will call for an early election to find a new Parliament that can elect a new Prime Minister. Of these two choices however the first one is the more common in the history and will most likely be the one that President Matinova chooses. Later today, President Matinova will sign the Language Bill of Respublika Bielarus 2016. This bill will declare Romanian, Bulgarian, and English to be State Languages of Respublika Bielarus, while Belarusian will remain the official language. Russian and Ukrainian will be removed from the list but the regions also retain the right to decide which language should remain theirs. Our final story, President Slava Matinova's son Alexei has arrived in the Brest Region for a 12 day trip to the entire region to inspect the troops and to make a speech on his mother's behalf as well as bestow a major award on a city there. It is unknown what Alexei will have to say or what the award it but we do know that he was been in the city of Baranovichi for the past 3 days. Well that's all for now folks. We thank you for joining us at Respublika Bielarus News Now! |

Good evening East Pacific! This is Dima Volkov bringing you the nightly news from Respublika Bielarus News Now! Our top story tonight, President Slava Matinova signed an Executive Order deploying 1.75 million troops to all the mainland of Bielarus and its surrounding islands. Most of the Navy was deployed as well, along with nearly 2,500 tanks, 4,820 airplanes, and an unknown number of artillery pieces. Major deployments are focused in the cities of Baranovichi, Brest, Minsk, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Gomel and Grodno. The President speaking on the executive order had this to say, "We will deploy all units necessary, wherever in our country it may be. This is our country and we will not back down." So far not a single shot has been fired, but it is noticed that the rebels are building up their units. Continuing with the above mentioned, President Slava Matinova spoke directly to our News station and declared that Bielarus will continue to protect and preserve human rights. "It is our duty to protect our countrymen and the Constitutional Rights of our people no matter where they are in Bielarus. Even the rebels will still have their rights, because, though they are our enemies, they are still citizens of Respublika Bielarus. Our country has always been committed to preserving the rights of Bielarusians and Non-Bielarusians, and we will continue those commitments. For this reason, I have ordered the deployment of Humanitarian Aid Workers to all major cities in Bielarus. We have also ordered for all warehouses of the aid camps to be prepared immediately." In other news, schools in Respublika Bielarus will be back in session tomorrow. The school year, which will run until June, will include many new topics and subjects. More languages and classes will be added. Speaking on it, Education Minister Dima Kokorav said the following, "We are very pleased to introduce new subjects and even more languages in the education system. Five new languages will be offered, and nearly twenty new classes will be as well." We wish the best of luck to all students starting back tomorrow. That's all for now. Good evening East Pacific! This is Svetlana Kolyana bringing you the nightly news from Respublika Bielarus. Our top story, the first shots of war were fired today when rebels landed on the island of Dzyarzhynskaya and opened fire on Bielarusian territorial defense forces. The siege of the island is still going on, but the Belarusian Navy has gotten involved and has trapped the rebels from having the chance of leaving the island. So far, Bielarusian Territorial Defense Forces have been able to keep the rebels from reaching the main city, known as Dezerzhink. 10 Bielarusian soldiers are reported wounded and nearly 50 rebels have been killed. We will bring you more information on this as we receive it. In the Mogilev region, the Mogilev Territorial Defense Force made the first strike when they opened fired on rebel positions near the city of Asipovichy. The reason that they opened fire first is that the city lies on the Svislach River, which is where the Hydro-electric power plant for the city is. No one knows for sure how many have been wounded or if any are dead, but it is known that the rebels have backed off of the city and that the Territorial Soldiers were ordered not to follow them, as it could be a trap. While the rebels were on the way out, they set fire to the railroad station and blew up parts of the railway, which were soon repaired. This morning, Parliament confirmed Mehriban Nigmatulin as Prime Minister of Respublika Bielarus by a vote of 630-45 in the House and 386-114 in the Council of the Republic. When Prime Minister Mehriban Nigmatulin spoke to the Parliament she had the following to say, "I am committed to serving my country to the fullest of my ability. I promise to the Parliament that I will form a government, made up, not only of coalition members, but of also members of the opposition, so that we can promote the use of different ideals in our government." In regards to the ongoing civil war she had the following to say, "I am willing to work along the Ministry of Defense, the Joint Chiefs, and our President to ensure that the war will come to an end without having to use weapons of mass destruction. As the President stated yesterday and I believe the same, we must ensure the basic human rights of every person, no matter where they are in our country." The Prime Minister has promised to form a new cabinet by the end of the week, and already announced that Education Minister Dima Kokarov and Interior Minister Alyusha Karimova will keep their respective positions. Students in Respublika Bielarus hit the books today as school started back all across the country. Nearly 80 million students ranging from age 5 to college age students began a new school year, either returning or starting for the first time. This is of course only a portion of the entire students age population(Kindergarten through 8th year college), which is around 220 million. Education Minister Dima Kokarov had this to say when asked about he entire student age population, "I am saddened that many people do not enroll their children in schools or that kids do not go to through college when they graduate. I believe the government needs to make laws to ensure that students get the education that they need." Last night the first ever match at Minsk National Arena was played between Minsk FC and FC Torpedo Mogilev. The match was attended by nearly 112,000 people and ended in FC Torpedo Mogilev winning by 2 in an edge of the seat match. After the match concluded, the owners of the stadium, the City of Minsk, said that they would need more security for every future match due to the amount of people that ended up coming. Security only amounted to 1,000 policemen and 500 soldiers of the Minsk Administrative Territorial Defense Force. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us again tonight. We will continue to bring updates on all news as we receive them. Good night! |

Good evening East Pacific! This is Kolya Akamtov bringing you the news from Respublika Bielarus! Our top story tonight, the Battle for the Island of Dzyarzhynskaya is still going on and fighting is more intense then ever before. On the northern end of the island, Rebel soldiers landed near the city of Vladislav and were able to get as far as city hall before soldiers from the neighboring island of Babyusk landed and forced them back. Over 100 people have been killed and nearly 650 wounded. 25 civilians are reported to be dead and thousands have already been displaced from the island. Bielarusian government troops are soon to land on the island. Over 25 ships and 70 speedboats have been deployed and are opening fire on rebel held territory. On the mainland, the Bielarusian Air Force has launched Air Raids against the Rebel held positions near the City of Bender in Eastern Grodno Region. Nearly 2,500 bombs were dropped on rebel positions and the entire city has been evacuated. Soldiers of the Bielarus Army now have full control of the city and they are soon going to march onto rebel positions when reinforcements arrive. In other news, Prime Minister Nigmatulin has announced that she has selected three different Ministers, the Minister of Defense, Minister of Regional Affairs, and the Minister of Economic Affairs. The positions will be given to as follows: Minister of Defense-Andrei Svetlov Minister of Regional Affairs-Igor Shunevich Minister of Economic Affairs-Vladimir Amarin. All three were approved immediately by both houses of Parliament. Police are investigating a late-night shooting at a bar just outside of the central part of the City of Minsk. We know that one man is dead and that four have been injured. No one knows who the shooter was, but it is known that police were at the scene before the shooting happened. Bielarusian President Slava Matinova has issued a nation-wide State of Emergency in response to the war and has shut down all borders to ensure that no one can get in or out of the country. The State of Emergency does revoke the Constitutional right to leave the country due to Section 3 Article 1 of the State of Emergency Decree. That is all for now. We will bring you updates as soon as we can. Thank you for joining us here at Respublika Bielarus! |

Good evening East Pacific! This is Svetlana Konstatinov bringing you the nightly news from Respublika Bielarus! Our top story tonight, schools in the region of Mogilev were shut down today as the civil war continues to rage in the region. So far, 150 people in the Mogilev Region have been killed. The President of the region has issued an immediate state of emergency, ensuring that Federal soldiers are deployed to the regions and to protect schools. Schools in the region will reopen tomorrow. On the Island of Dzyarzhynskaya, soldiers of the Bielarusian Army and the Territorial Defense force were able to throw rebel soldiers off the main cities of the island and have them once more on the beaches. While the rebels were in retreat however, they were able to burn down many structures including that of city hall in the capital of the island. Air units and more Naval units have been deployed to the island. Prime Minister Nigmatulin, acting under orders from the President, traveled to the city of Baranovichi with a nearly 50,000 soldiers of the Bielarusian Army. She announced that they would be the defenders of the city and that the city needed to build defenses right away. "We are in a very tense time. We need to defend every city possible. We will not allow for this Hero City to fall. Baranovichi will hold off until the end. Hopefully, this will be the last time war will plague this city." A new update into the Civil War aside from the battling is that a new faction has gotten involved fighting independent of the government and the main rebel force. A group calling themselves the Bielarusians for a Brighter Future opened fire upon positions of the rebels this morning and later fired on the government forces near the city of Mogilev. The total strength of the faction is around 15,000, much higher than that of the main army of the PRA. Our final story, Minister of Defense Andrei Svetlov was sworn in this morning and immediately got to work surveying troops. He as well took in reports from military academies across the country and found something fairly interesting. "Over the past few years Respublika Bielarus has in a way, had a decline in the amount of soldiers in our Armed Forces. Since the plot of the coup, the Military has increased to the largest it has ever been. Respublika Bielarus now has a standing Armed Forces of nearly 9,500,000. This is amazing compared to what it has been in the past years." The Minister of Defense later on went to meet with cadets and current soldiers and wished them the best of luck in schooling and fighting in the war. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us at Respublika Bielarus News Now! |

Good afternoon East Pacific! This is Vladimir Ebokorov bringing you the afternoon news from Respublika Bielarus! Our top story, the Battle of the Island of Dzyarzhynskaya has been concluded. This morning, Bielarusian soldiers breached enemy barricades at the beaches and arrested many rebels. However, when they arrived there, a gruesome scene of nearly 500 bodies laid out on the ground, meaning that many took the suicide route rather than be captured. One rebel when questioned by the Bielarusian Federal Police Force responded by saying, "Many people took their lives for fear that we would all be killed, whether in prison or by the hail of bullets from the Bielarusian Army." President Matinova instructed the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Police Affairs to, if rebels do go to trial, for them not to be given the death penalty, something that shocked many around the regions. On the mainland however, the war has taken a different turn. The new faction in the war, the Bielarusian's for a Brighter Future, has gained ground in Brest and in Vitebsk Regions. It is now widely believed that the Bielarusian's for a Brighter Future has united with the rebel army of the PRA due to the amount of ground gained. Bielarusian Air units began bombing their positions early today and the Bielarusian Federal Army is expected to arrive in just a few hours. Vitebsk and Brest Territorial Defense Forces are already engaging them. However, the locations are fairly primitive because they are, for the most part, out of range of naval positions. Taking a turn from the war stories, President Slava Matinova traveled to a school in downtown Minsk. While at the school, she visited with students, talked with teachers, and even stayed for lunch with the students. Many students did enjoy the President being there and when she spoke to all of them in the gym, she promised for school reforms to be made and that she would grant money for the school to be rebuilt. Prime Minister Nigmatulin chose more of her cabinet Ministers today, amounting to now having nine in all. The four that she appointed today include: Minister of Culture-Aleksander Volkov Minister of Justice-Tatiana Meribeva Deputy Prime Minister-Anatoly Kalinin Deputy Prime Minister-Vladimir Semashko Minister of State-Alexei Trukov(Former Prime Minister) All nominees were immediately approved by the Parliament. President Slava Matinova has appointed a new Presidential Council. The Presidential Council is a group of advisers to the President that has no actual power but to advise the President on policy and other issues in the region. Historically, the President has appointed members of their own party, but President Matinova appointed members of all Parliamentary parties. Regarding her choice she had the following to say, "The reason I appointed many different politicians over different parties is because I want to be the President that bridges the gap of all parties. In a time like this, we need all parties working together, which we have not yet achieved. But hopefully, this will be the first step." Our final story for now, President Matinova is expected to travel with Prime Minister Nigmatulin to the Islands of Dzyarzhynskaya and Babyusk to see the damage done to the two largest islands of the country. After that, the President will travel to many smaller islands and inspect their defenses. This is all for now. Thank you joining us this afternoon! |

When the police arrived at the scene, the found a woman, who is around the age of 30, lying on the ground covered in blood. It was soon reported that she was a victim of sexual assault and that she was raped. This is a topic not generally talked about in Respublika Bielarus, but when President Slava Matinova found out about it, she canceled her trip to the islands and immediately went to the hospital where the girl if undergoing surgery. The people joining us is Minsk Police Commissioner Aksana Kavalchuk and Doctor Yuri Romanchuk. Dmitry: "Thank you both for joining us here tonight. I know that this is a topic that is now widely spoken of, but we would like to get your opinion. What are the issues regarding rape and what do you think should be done?" Aksana: "Well in my opinion more needs to be done, not in a progressive time, but right now. It needs to be done now. This woman is just one of many victims, and maybe now that it has been reported others will speak out. Our country has never been fair on an equal ground when it comes to these issues, including in our police force. Change must begin soon." Dmitry: "Thank you Aksana, Yuri what is your take on this?" Yuri: : "You know, I must say that I agree with Aksana. This has been an issue that has nearly tore our nation apart many times, and now that it has happened in our own backyard, I believe that people will start to see it is more than just a non-priority and make it a priority. It is not the woman's fault that it happened. She is the victim. It is time our lawmakers make laws that ensure people go to jail for a long time. I am honestly surprised that it has not happened yet seeing as we have had three female leaders in power for nearly three months. I hope this will make the Government, and especially our President and Prime Minister, wake up and realize that change must come now." Dmitry: "Thank you both for your time." Prime Minister Mehriban Nigmatulin has promised to bring legislation to the table immediately to enforce stricter anti-rape laws and to rewrite the criminal code to ensure a longer sentence be handed out and to ensure that police take these cases with all seriousness. They have fought until the very end. Though our cities may be destroyed and our defenses worn, we will not surrender this island, now or ever!" The Prime Minister will travel to many other islands in the next coming days. In the region of Vitebsk, Bielarusian Federal troops arrived at the front lines and were able to push back the PRA and the Bielarusians for a Brighter Future rebel groups. Though they gained the strategic upperhand, it did come with some loss of life. Twenty-two Bielarusian soldiers were killed during the counter-attack and fifty were killed during the main attack. Good evening East Pacific! This is Yuri Aboraov bringing you the nightly news from Respublika Bielarus! This morning, following the announcement of the rape of a near thirty year old medical student, people took out into the streets of Minsk to protest. The total number of protesters ranges to around 500,000. People are calling for immediate anti-rape laws and for a change to the criminal code making the punishments more severe. The leader of the protesters, Alexander Trukov, the son of former Prime Minister Alexei Trukov, spoke before the crowd using a microphone and speakers and demanded for tougher action to be taken. "We will not be silent. This is a serious issue that needs to be fixed immediately. We will continue to protest until the President and Parliament make changes." While the protests raged, President Matinova addressed a joint-session of Parliament and firmly stated that an anti-rape law must be created and that the criminal code needs to be changed. "We cannot allow this to continue happening. In Respublika Bielarus, in the past year alone, nearly 585 women, men, children, and elderly have been victims of rape or sexual violence. When does it stop? We cannot wait anymore. If this Parliament is unable to find the need to care for the victims, include the one last night who is battling for her life, then I will use my Presidential powers to ensure that stricter punishments are enforced. " Prime Minsiter Nigmatulin has traveled to the island of Babyusk to inspect the defenses of the island before an attack occurs on the island. However, while she was on the island, an explosion occurred near the outer ring of defenses and then soon after rebel soldiers landed on the island. The Prime Minister had to leave the island immediately due to the rebel landing. She escaped to the nearby island of Komar where she is now inspecting their defenses. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us! |

Good morning East Pacific! This is Aleksander Romanevich bringing you the morning news from Respublika Bielarus! Our top story this morning, fighting rages on the island of Babyusk as rebels have neared the city of Branislav, one of the three major cities on the island. The villages of Mokarov, Nesvizh, and Lahoysk were completely wiped out by rebel soldiers. Before rebel soldiers arrived in the villages however, the people were evacuated by the Territorial Defense Force of the island. The Minister of Defense is expected to travel to the island's capital city of Navapolatsk to inspect troops and to oversee the deployment of more forces and defenses to the island. It is believed that 40,000 troops will be deployed to the island. Prime Minister Mehriban Nigmatulin continued her inspection of defenses of the islands, this time on the island of Komar, nearly 40 miles from the island of Babyusk and 70 miles from the island of Dzyarzhynskaya. The Prime Minister, who is accompanied by the Minister of Finance and Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that the defenses of the island need to be upgraded and soon. "As a former military commander over the island of Dzyarzhynskaya, I know how island defenses work. The island of Komar needs major rebuilding of its defenses before the rebels or God-forbid the BBF get here to island. We will make sure that all upgrades are done in a timely manner, but to make sure they are in perfect order." President Slava Matinova signed an executive order, known as the Anti-rape law, or Tatiana's law, named after the woman who was raped. This declared that police must take all reports of rape seriously and extended the penalties if a trial is made. The new minimum sentence is 15 years and the maximum is death. "It is my full belief that this order will attempt to stop rape. Though we know good and well it will never end, maybe it will make people realize the penalty if they attempt or plan to commit this terrible crime. I sympathize with Tatiana and with the protesters who are outside. Our prayers are with Tatiana at this time and the government will pay for any surgery that she needs. We just want to make sure that she is in good health. That is our main priority." The President met with the family of Tatiana and promised them that she would use every resource disposable to find the man or men who did this to her. Alexei Trukov, former Prime Minister and now Minister of State, is expected to travel to the region of Vitebsk to oversee the war going on there. In an interview with Mr. Trukov, he stated that he was nervous but didn't believe that he was in any direct danger by going to this region. The position of Minister of State has never actually been filled before, so it is unknown what the powers of the position is. When we asked Mr. Trukov, he had this to say, "The Minister of State is basically the Minster of Defense, Minister of Regional Affairs, and the Minister of Internal Affairs bundled into one. I have the power to deploy military forces and police throughout the different regions, if i am asked to by the President or Prime Ministers." In other news, the Respublika Bielarus Song Contest begins officially tonight. After many delays, President Slava Matinova announced that it will begin tonight. "Even though the war is going on, life in Minsk is business as usual. There is no reason that the show shouldn't go on. These kids, adults, and even the elderly have prepared for so long for this, and we aren't gonna take it from them." The Judges were declared to be: Annastasia Vinnikova, Dmitry Koldun, Victor Kolkov, and Aresnie. Even though the President just announced that it would take place, many people assumed it was going to take place soon due to the stage being put up in the past couple of weeks. The venue will be the Minsk Palace of Sports, which is able to seat around 50,000 people. The rules of the show are not quite formulated completely, but the audition can only be 3 minutes and 30 seconds long. That much is known to us. Our final story tonight, Respublika Bielarus News Now is now under new management. Following the death of the founder of the company, Dima Bulyano, it was revealed that he had it left in his will for the government to take over the station. President Slava Matinova refused to allow the station to be government controlled, so, it was decided by a council of 25 members, that he son, Alexei Matinov, would take over the position of station manager. We are pleased to welcome him here and cannot wait to get to work with him! That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here! |
