"A health scare tonight as former president Chance Syng was rushed to the hospital early this morning. Their condition is listed as stable at this time, but the family has yet to comment further on the reason for the hospitalization. They are expected to make a full recovery, and we'll have more information as soon as it's available." "Next up, our investigation into a local after-school day care turned up something shocking. The full story, after this..." |

"New tonight: Robots on the battlefield. The West End Robotics Laboratory and the University of Portside are developing materials that can be 3D printed based on the flexibility and nimbleness of invertebrates such as a squid, according to an WERL press release. The material that they’ve used in their testing will bend in any direction when supplied with electricity. We have this clip from earlier today, with professor Amicoo McAlpine of the University of Portside." "In the initial phase of the project, our team began by investigating new methods for emulating the locomotion of invertebrates. That helped our researchers learn how to apply the natural movement of invertebrates like squids to reproduce the nimble motions of the aquatic counterpart." "Interesting stuff Andrew, now let's move over to weather. I hear we're looking at a lot of rain tonight and tomorrow?" |

"The 5S task group of the NCSA has been given a 'reboot', signaling a shift of devoted resources off of submaritime exploration and towards prevention of person trafficking. The division will now be better equipped to put an end to continental slavery trade." "The move comes after months of steady campaigning on the part of the president. C-Sec director Harriet Truman said of the news today,'I'm pleased to see a renewed focus on keeping all people equal and free. My agency will make you proud.'" "Later tonight, we'll go over the new tax forms you'll be seeing if you own property: how to get those filled out, after the break." |

"A training exercise meant to simulate a mass power outage will take place next month at specific locales across Emberwood Coast. The exercise, known as Dark Sky, is scheduled to happen May 15-17 in Brown, Calulet, Daney, Fae Llau, West End, Outagamie and Montgomery divisions. The public should not be concerned by a greater presence of emergency responders, military personnel or drones during the exercise. The exercise is intended to test the abilities of emergency responders and private utilities to respond to a long-term power outage across the state. The exercise will involve an Patriot Energy facility in South Side district that will serve as an army training site. Said Maj. Gen. Piotyr Landing, adjutant general of South Point Defense Center," "Our emergency management community must be prepared to deal with the myriad of scenarios and challenges posed by a long-term mass power outage. By training together, we continue building meaningful relationships that leave us better positioned to respond to a real-world situation." "More than 2,000 people from federal, state, and municipal agencies will participate in the training exercise." "Elsewhere, we're seeing a surge in flu cases. Let's look at what health officials are doing to alleviate fears..." |

"New tonight, an abandoned nuclear silo 210 kilometers south of Calcite The test site at Naranhai has been used for sixteen nuclear tests since 1996. After the last, in September, a series of aftershocks hit the site, which seismologists believe collapsed part of the mountain's interior. On Saturday, Staynish reclaimation officials said the site posed a risk to any settlements nearby. The unannounced investigation came after abandonment of the site by Quartzian officials. The latest findings from the Morstaybishlian Nuclear Reclaimation Division (MNRD) is due to be published in Geophysical Research Letters, a journal of the Auroran International Geophysical Union, in the coming days. It concluded that after March's investigation, there was a serious risk of near-vertical on-site collapse towards the nuclear test centre." The Naranhai site is situated in mountainous terrain in what was Quartz Fern Coast mid-east, and tests have taken place in a system of tunnels dug below Mount Elray. A one-page summary of the research on the MNRD website concluded: The possible occurrence of a collapse should deem the immediate area around Mount Naranhai not be settled near. The official report obtained by CNC says that the 'chance of collapse in the test site calls for continued close monitoring of any leaks of radioactive materials.'" "We'll continue to monitor this situation from home, until then, let's go to Jeremy with more details..." |

"Some wild news out of Rockport today, evidence for the largest single incident of mass child sacrifice in the Auroran continent— and likely in world history—has been discovered on Emberwood's northern coast, archaeologists tell International Geographic. More than 140 children and 200 young dogs appear to have been ritually sacrificed in an event that took place some 550 years ago on a wind-swept bluff overlooking the Southern Packilvanian Ocean, in the shadow of what was then the sprawling capital of the Strathepolic Civilization. Scientific investigations by the international, interdisciplinary team, led by Gabriel Prieto and John Verano of Rockport Community University, are ongoing. The work is supported by grants from the International Geographic Bioscience Fund." "While incidents of human sacrifice among the Strontic, Meyic, and Donna have been recorded in colonial-era Staynish chronicles and documented in modern scientific excavations, the discovery of a large-scale child sacrifice event in the little-known pre-Staynes Strathepolic civilization is unprecedented in Aurora—if not in the entire world. Preserved in dry sand for more than 500 years, more than a dozen children were revealed over the course of a day by archaeologists. The majority of the ritual victims were between eight and 12 years old when they died. Said Professor Pierto," "I, for one, never expected it, and I don't think anyone else would have, either." "The researchers are in the process of submitting a report on scientific results of the discovery to a peer-reviewed, scientific journal." "In lighter news, we're seeing guardian centers empty at never-before seen rates as child adoptions soar..." |

"...competition between between Vision, Hackhard Pewpewlett Mobile and Microhard were forcing prices to drop on RAM, despite record demand for the memory. Starting the first calendar quarter of 2016 and through the third quarter of 2017, Hagens Berman (a legal group) alleges that the trio's revenues from global DRAM sales more than doubled as a result of the production decrease and price-fixing scheme. Vision, HaPew and Microhard collectively controlled 96 percent of the worldwide DRAM market share as of the middle of 2017. When the Axdelian government announced an investigation into the matter in 2017, the "conduct changed abruptly," according to the court filing. Said Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman," "What we've uncovered in the DRAM market is a classic antitrust, price-fixing scheme in which a small number of kingpin corporations hold the lion's share of the market. Instead of playing by the rules, Vision, HaPew and Microhard chose to put consumers in a chokehold, wringing the market for more profit." "DRAM saw a 47 percent jump in price in 2017, the largest jump in 30 years. The class action applies to anyone in Emberwood who purchased a device using DRAM —including iPCs, iSlabs, and iCells —between July 1, 2016 and Feb. 1, 2018. Hagens Berman achieved a $300 million settlement for purchasers who had been forced to pay artificially high prices in a suit in 2006 against DRAM manufacturers. In the Investigation Department's case, defendants were convicted for conspiring to fix prices of DRAM. Vision and Microhard pleaded guilty to the ALID's charges and paid paid a collective $731 million in criminal fines, and served a collective 3,169 days of jail time." "Next up is the weather, we're looking at colder days as winter approaches once again." |

"A City worker who posted fake photos of his colleague on porn websites after she refused to give him her number has been convicted of harassment. Davide Buccheri, 25, carried out the "malicious" crime while working at the investment management firm M&G. Buccheri created a gallery of the victim alongside edited pornographic pictures of other women between September 2016 and May 2017. He then told the woman's bosses about the photos to discredit her. The pictures were uploaded to porn websites after being edited and cropped to make them look like the woman, the City of Aura 51st District Court heard." "Buccheri, originally from Weyrcliff, Dragonia, was convicted of one count of harassment. District Judge Richard Blake warned Buccheri that a custodial sentence was 'almost inevitable'. He described him as 'manipulative' and said he had become 'infatuated' and 'obsessed' with his victim and 'set about to destroy her'. Said the presiding judge, 'You conducted a quite wicked, calculated campaign against this young woman. It is shameful that I have not heard in evidence one expression of regret from you about what this young woman suffered. She is going to have to live the rest of her professional life with the potential for 'snickers by the water cooler', or in the lift, as she goes by. She doesn't deserve that; this young woman did absolutely nothing to bring about your disgraceful behaviour.'" "Prosecutor Aimee Emby said Buccheri's actions caused his victim 'considerable distress and anxiety.' She told us earlier today," "I hope this conviction provides the victim with some measure of comfort and gives other victims of harassment the confidence to come forward," "Buccheri will be sentenced on Tuesday, May 1st. Now, over to sports..."[edit_reason]i no do words good[/edit_reason] Edited by Ember, Apr 28 2018, 10:11:54 PM.

"A CNC exclusive tonight, an interview with director Georgina Bennet, of the upcoming film Superluminal. The film promises a look into a future with starships, aliens, and a whole lot of explosions. Miss Bennet, what inspired you to take on this story?" "Well, you see, this film is really a lot of who I am. I look forward into the future and see a world where all people are equal. I think film is an excellent vehicle to broadcast that, and I hope others will feel the same when they see my movie." "We can't wait to see it. When will it be out in theaters?" "May 18th." "You can see the full interview with Miss Bennet on our website..." |

"The West End school superintendent charged Monday with defecating in public was caught in the act at the Holton Arms High School moonball field and track after surveillance was set up due to human feces being found quote, 'on a daily basis,' according to police. Thomas Tramaglini, 42, lives about 3 miles from Holton Arms High School in neighboring North Aura. He was running at the track on the athletic fields at 5:50 a.m. before he was arrested." "Track coaches and staff at Holton Arms High School told the district's resource officer that they found human feces on or near the football field and track daily, West End police said in a statement Thursday. School employees began monitoring the area and on Monday police arrested Tramaglini at 5:50 a.m., according to Sgt. Theodore Sigismondi. Tramaglini is also charged with littering. He is due in municipal court in West End at 8:15 a.m. Monday to answer the charges." "Tramaglini has taken a paid leave of absence from his 127,504 kirib/year job in West End. Leave can only be unpaid if a person is indicted or faces tenure charged, the district said, citing municipal law. Tramaglini replaced Superintendent Scott Taylor who resigned in August 2015. Tramaglini previously served as Chief Academic Officer in Keansburg and also held positions in Aura 151 and Freehold District, outside Rockport." "In more serious news, tensions mount over still-incoming refugees from Quartz Fern Coast after the government suddenly collapsed two weeks ago..." |

"In a new push to integrate into multilateral relations with new nations, several embassies are being constructed along Seaside Street. No word yet as to how many agreements have been, or will be, secured, but we expect as many as five new embassies may open by the end of May. I'll turn it over to Max with more on the future of the Quartz Embassy building, and what will be done in the future with the abandoned structures of ex-governments." "You see, city planners are expected to rezone the building as an outreach center, dedicated to rehousing displaced refugees from the now ungoverned dictatorship. Several local citizens are donating time and resources to the project, with a number of food drives and volunteer workers helping get this building going again..." |

"Popular punk band Nervena is back after several years of hiatus, prompting a massive revival in the popularity of traditional media shops. Record and CD sales have exploded with a particular boom in sales of late 90's, early 00's punk music. With more on where to get the new album, I'll hand it over to Michael." "Yeah, Marissa, you'll find it easiest online, but many many, almost all the solid media stores I've visited today have been carrying the new album, as well as new deliveries of the band's past hits..." |

"Preparations are underway for the 2018 Pride Festival in Aura! The celebration will, as always, run from the second Saturday in June, to the following Saturday, culminating in a parade on the final afternoon. A historical turnout is expected this year, prompting unprecedented security precautions to protect what planners are expecting to be a crowd numbering in the hundreds of thousands. Similar events will be held around the nation, especially in major cities, but the celebration in the capitol is the largest gender and sexuality positivism event in the world. We'll go live to Jordan what you can expect to see from this administration, you say you've heard the president and her wife will be in attendance again this year?" "Yes Mary, I've got word from trusted sources and friends in the trans-lesbian community that the couple will be presenting a special speech on the importance of international tolerance..." |
