Breaking News This is a breaking news story from Ostaria 24. We go live to Prime Minister Natasha Rucner who is making her address regarding the incoming President. "Good afternoon. My fellow citizens and politicians, I can fairly say that we are all shocked by yesterday's announcement of President Šarović's resignation. The President did an excellent job in his time as Acting President and I must say that he will by far be one of the most remembered acting President's we had. It is better however, in my honest opinion, that he resigned due to his referendum violating the Constitution rather than a big media spectacle regarding an impeachment. However, I digress. The reason I give this address is to appoint a new President to serve the remainder of the term until June 2018, when the next election will take place. After discussing it with members of the Cabinet, I have decided that there is no need to appoint a new President that the people do not know of, but to appoint one which the people know. For that reason, I announce the appointment of Alexander Sar as President of the Republic of Ostaria. The Cabinet and I feel that he is the best choice for President as it is infact his term that would be finalized. I spoke with Alexander on the phone and he has agreed to return to the post of President immediately. The National Assembly has voted to restore the President to his position to finish out the term. Thank you all for your time and God bless. End's broadcast. Screen fades to black. |

Good evening! This is Ostaria 24! My name is Alexander Koldemov and here is the news from Ostaria. Our top story this evening, Alexander Sar was re-sworn in as President this morning at 11:15 AM. The Inauguration, which is the second the President has gone through, was attended by several ambassadors, embassy officials, and Ostarian state and federal politicians. President Sar was sworn in by Mateo Luranov, Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court. Following the inauguration, President Sar gave his speech to the people in which he declared, "I am dedicated to the people and to the state. I will continue the policies of the past that have long helped helped us. I will continue to support State's Rights, unlike the interim President before me." Alexander also declared his intent to draft a new law, No. 51.012, also known as Sasha's Law, a law that will make laws regarding rape even stronger. The 27th Division and the 83rd Division of the Army, along with the 14th and 17th Air Force Regiments, have been doing drills in the Northern Province of Bjelovar-Bilogora, which has the most rugged terrain of all the provinces. The drills, which began Monday, are part of a quarterly military preparedness training that had been cancelled in September. The Minister of Defense stated that the drills were necessary to be prepared for the future in the case that the country is invaded. We spoke to one soldier, a Lieutenant who asked not to be named, who said, "This is by far the hardest area to train in. The terrain of this part of the country is rough, jagged, rigid, all of the above. It takes a long time to be able to cross certain areas and it has been hard for us to get our tanks and other weapons into the region." That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

Good evening! This is Ostaria 24! My name is Alexander Koldemov and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story, President Alexander Sar was presented with the Order of Saint Luke today by the National Assembly of Ostaria for his work in the medical field and his humanitarian work during the Hurricane season. The ceremony, which took place in the Hall of the National Assembly, was attended by all members of the Assembly, the Cabinet of Ministers, and many church officials. After being presented the Order, President Sar gave a speech in which he stated that all the work he did was for the great God above and for the people of the country. "The suffering that was caused by the Hurricanes were tremendous. The people suffered and the nation as a whole suffered. By the grace of God, our organizations were able to come together and help wherever we could and are still helping now." Following the ceremony, President Sar announced that he was enacting an Executive Order to make Luke the Patron Saint of Ostaria for the years 2018 until 2022. Prime Minister Rucner and nearly all members of the National Assembly have been campaigning across the country as they are gearing up for the December 18th election that will see either a return of the current government, or the formation of a new one. Natasha is running on the promise that she will continue to support State's rights and state level government, something that current President Sar has also supported. "We are gonna make sure that our state's are taken care of and that the people get the best deal for them. We will put our constituents first and make sure that we don't pass any law that will harm them or their trust in us." Current polls show the HDZ and the OPU winning the most seats, with a combined total of over 57%. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good evening! This is Ostaria 24! My name is Alexander Koldemov and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story tonight, President Alexander Sar and Prime Minister Natasha Rucner both received their annual Christmas Trees this morning from different areas of the country. President Sar and his wife Yulia, along with their children, Alexey and Nina, accepted the deliveries from the Sarajevo Tree Farm, Dasha's Trees in Nisk, and Mattias's Trees in Zlatibor. The three trees, all of which are spruce's, are all over 8 foot tall, with the tallest being a 22 foot tree that will go outside for the entire city to see. Prime Minister Rucner and her husband Miroslav, along with their 3 children, accepted their trees from the same places, with the tallest being an 18 foot tree that will, like the President's, be placed outside. Both families began decorating their trees as soon as they were able to. Members of the House of Representatives, House of People's, and the Sabor, along with all other government officials at the State and Federal level will receive their's from different cities in the coming days. The House of People's and Sabor buildings will display 22 tree's each across the several halls, all of which will be decorated by different schools and organizations, including President Sar's Ostarian Disaster Relief Program and by 50 recipients of the Order of the Blue Star and Order of the Blue Cross. In other news, Semiha Borovac, the former Minister of Human Rights and Second Deputy Prime Minister, was given the Order of Saint Luke and the Order of the Blue Star. Borovac, who was murdered earlier this year, is the first posthumous recipient of the medals and the first female to receive more than one award on one day. Her husband accepted the awards on her behalf and said that he was very pleased that the country was officially recognizing her and her amazing work during her life. "She worked hard her entire life to see the furthering of Human Rights in the country. She wasn't just a politician. She was a Christian, a mother, a wife, and a daughter, not only to her mother but to the Republic." It is believed that the Order of the Blue Cross will be given to Semiha sometime in the coming month. A new poll released today showed the President Sar is leading in the race for President in the upcoming 2018 election. The poll, which was done by the University of Ostaria in Dubrovnik, showed that Alexander Sar is leading by nearly 35% (50% to 15% for the nearest candidate). Many candidates dropped out of the election after President Sar announced he would run and declared their support for him. Following their declarations of support, the HDZ announced that they were reversing their decision and re-appointing Sar as their leader and announced him to be the upcoming candidate for the 2018 election. Sar immediately accepted both and will begin his campaign after Christmas. President Alexander Sar announced today that after discussions with the Prime Minister that the Minister of Justice, Alexander Mikalovich, would be removed from his position effective January 1st. The Prime Minister requested this after it was discovered that the Minister had laundered money and had also colluded with a member of the Supreme Court to sway a vote in his way. The decision was met with protest calling for his immediate removal rather than waiting until the end of the year. They also called the removal of the Supreme Court, which was approved by the President around 7pm tonight. A new Minister and Justice will be appointed on January 8th, when the government returns to session. A final small story, Josip Nemestov, the former Communist leader of Ostaria, was found murdered in his prison cell. It is unknown at this time who carried out the execution, but the police are treating it as an act of violence and are launching a full investigation. We will bring more information as soon as we can. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good evening! This is Ostaria 24! My name is Alexander Koldemov and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story this evening, Vitali Romanchuk, Member of the HDZ and Member of the Sabor for the 3rd District of Sarajevo, was found dead this morning in his home. Romanchuk, who had served for 22 years in the Sabor, was discovered by his wife in the wee hours of the morning. When she discovered he was not breathing, she immediately called for an ambulance, which came right away. They were able to bring him back once but he was officially pronounced dead at 8:15am Sarajevo time. The President immediately called to offer condolences as did the Prime Minister. The President also told reporters, "Ostaria has lost a great man and a great politician. Not only was Romanchuk a front bencher for most of his career, but he twice served as Deputy Prime Minister and once as Prime Minister, along with being Secretary of Energy from 1995 until 2000." The funeral is planned to be held on Saturday. The Governor of Sarajevo told the President that he would appoint an interim member until the Federal Election on December 18th. The investigation into the mysterious death of former Communist leader Josip Nemestov has so far yielded no results. State investigators have been investigating since the first reports of the death, however, the medical examiner stated that it was poison that killed him and not any gunshot wound as originally reported. A new poll has shown that the HDZ-OPU coalition is expected to take 2/3rds of the seats in the House of Representatives, 1/2 of the seats in the House of People's, and 1/2 of the seats in the Sabor. This poll, conducted by a private polling company, is based off the opinions of 1,500 people from all across Ostaria, but many of which were in the major cities. The same poll also showed Alexander Sar as winning the election with 50% of the vote in the first round, which resembles the last poll that was conducted by the University of Ostaria in Dubrovnik. The company also conducted a poll asking for their current opinion of the President and the National Assembly. The President was given an 82% approval rating, while the National Assembly was only given a 63% approval rating, which most people casting doubt on the opposition parties. Our final story, Sarajevo Nuclear Power Plant No. 1 was officially shut down today after years of hard work. The plant, which has been active since 1974, was officially closed in a ceremony commending the hard work of those who built the plant and worked at the plant all these years. The plant, which is expected to be replaced by a new plant that will be complete in March 2018. Plant workers were awarded the Medal of Saint Alexander, a state honor for work in the field of energy. The President congratulated the workers and applauded all of their efforts over the several years that the plant has done its work. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here. |

Good morning! This is Ostaria 24. My name is Alexander Koldemov and here is the news from Ostaria. Our top story this morning, President Alexander Sar is in Mostar commemorating the work of the Celjian population of Ostaria. The Celjians, which make up roughly 15% of the Ostarian population, are said to have been among the original founders of Ostarian, including those who identify directly a Ostarian blood. During the commemoration ceremony at the University of Mostar, President Sar gave a speech in which he thanked the Celjians for their efforts throughout the years. "I thank you all for your dedication to the improvement to the Ostarian Republic. It is because of you that we have made such great strides in medicine, physics, and other forms of science. I can say that I am proud to be in the presence of you all as an Ostarian and a Celjian." After giving his speech, the press asked if he was actually Celjian to which he responded, "I am a true Ostarian. I am made up of all the different people groups of Ostaria, including the Celjians." In a shocking twist of events, Prime Minister Natasha Rucner stated today that she will not be seeking re-election to the position of Prime Minister and announced that on December 14th, that she would be stepping down from the party leadership. She told Radio Sarajevo that she feels it is time for a new Prime Minister to be put in place. "I loved serving as the Prime Minister of Ostaria. I feel that it is time for a new one to be put in place. I realize that it will not be until after the New Year that this person will be put in place, and I will continue to server in my capacity until then." Many parties responded with criticism, while others threw their support behind her. Many names have been thrown around for the new Prime Minister, all of whom have stated that Natasha will serve in their cabinet in some capacity. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good evening! Welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Hajrudina Bajraktarević and here is the news from Ostaria. Our top story, Representative Janko Divjak of Sanski Most (HDZ) gave an impassioned speech before the Ostarian House of Representatives today regarding children's healthcare. The speech, which came after several reports that the Coalition would not be including coverage for children in the Government Insurance Act of 2018, was critical of any move to attempt to change the current status. In the speech Janko said, "Children are the crowning jewel of our nation. They are our countries future and the backbone of our future's economy and politics. If we cannot even protect their medical care right now, then we will have no future. We need to better fund children's healthcare, including doctor's visits, vaccines, and even children's hospice." Members of the House then scrapped any plan to edit the healthcare bills and announced that children's hospice would be introduced at the federal and state levels. President Sar is expected to address a joint session of the National Assembly tomorrow to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Vukovar which ended the War of Ostaria and led to the fall of Socialism in Ostaria. The President, who was only a teen at the time the war occurred, saw action in front of his own home and throughout the city of Sarajevo. The President recounted in an interview today, "I remember as a child seeing the war across the country, especially in our great capital. I saw the war take away members of my family and people who I were friends with. Kids at my school were dragged off to fight in the war, while others were arrested for their parents political dissension. It is a shame what happened and it must not be forgotten." Members of the House of Representatives will be required to wear black, while the Sabor and House of People's be required to wear ribbons on their clothing to commemorate the lost. The Supreme Court announced that those who opposed wearing them will be suspended until an apology is issued. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good evening and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Hajrudina Bajraktarević and here is the news from Ostaria!! People across the country have been ringing in the New Year in several different ways, but our President got a special surprise for 2018. While giving a speech at the state dinner tonight, President Sar's wife went in to labor and was rushed to the hospital. Svetlana, who was not due for another two weeks, gave birth to two healthy baby boys, both of whom were born after midnight, making them some of Ostaria's first children born in the New Year. Congratulations for the President came from several politicians and from hundreds of thousands of Ostarian's who were celebrating in the capital. Prime Minister Rucner brought in the New Year by celebrating in Independence Square with her husband and family where she addressed a crowd of roughly 2.5 million people and then led the people in singing the traditional "dugo vremena". To ring in the New Year also, Prime Minister Rucner backtracked and declared that she will seek re-election as Prime Minister, thus ending a political crisis in the SBBO. As it is now 1 January 2018, declarations of candidacy for the June Presidential and Gubernatorial elections have officially closed. As it stands, there are 7 candidates representing the 7 different parties in Parliament for President, while others have yet to be certified. The Electoral Commission is expected to convene today through Friday to count all the signatures and verify them for 13 other candidates, making this the largest Presidential election since 1992. As opinion polls go, President Sar is still on top and has yet to gain or lose any percentage points. In the gubernatorial elections, over 50 candidates have been declared for the 17 provinces. Several laws have also gone into effect starting today, federally and at the state level. The Federal Budget, the 2018 Healthcare Law, and the Native People's Law have all gone into effect at the Federal Level. Another major bill gone into law today is the Historical and Natural Preservation Act, protecting natural and historical sites, while also setting funds aside for renovation projects if needed. That is all for now. We thank you for joining us here and wish you all a Happy New Year from Ostaria!! |

Good evening and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Almasa Sinanovic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story tonight, the President and Military Council, which includes the highest ranking members of the military, voted today to order over 100 tanks of two different types. The first type is the LV-187, a tank that has been in service with the Ostarian Marine Corps since 2001. The second type is the LSV-131-A, which has seen service in the Ostarian Army, the Ostarian National Guard, State National Guards, and Ostarian Border Troops. The decision to order the tanks came after roughly 30 tanks were sent into reserve and another 15 were sent in for major repairs. The Ostarian Military Council, which is chaired by Mahir Stupar, declared that the total cost of the tanks will be roughly 125,000,000 Dinar. Chairman Stupar, who is an Admiral in the Ostarian Navy, verified reports that 3 submarines, 1 helicopter carrier, 1 aircraft carrier, and 2 cruisers are currently being built or are undergoing trials, while he also stated that a few airplanes are also being built, but didn't verify which types. Singer/Doctor Almir Kurjak announced his candidacy for Governor of the Uta Mare Canton, the third most populous canton in the entire country. Kurjak, who is from the city of Velika Kladuša, the capital of the Uta Mare Canton, declared his candidacy following his concert in the city last night. His announcement was met by cheers from the fans and from his fellow medical professionals, who say he is doing it not for the money, but to help the people of the canton. Politicians however were less than excited about his announcement, with several stating that they would do anything they could to stop him from getting elected. President Alexander Sar himself weighed in on the debate and, in a surprise twist, threw his support behind Almir, stating that he should be given a chance and that he wants to know what the governor will do for the canton. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good afternoon and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Almasa Sinanovic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story today, the Supreme Court of Ostaria ruled today in the case of Uta Mare Canton v. Army of Ostaria. The ruling, which was in favor of the Uta Mare Canton, declared that the military does not have the right to interfere in criminal investigations in a province or take place in police operations that are managed by the province or municipal police forces. The case was in response to that 2016 interference of the Ostarian Marine Corps in the investigation of the murder of Mayor Said Selimovic. According to the court, "The military does not have the jurisdiction to get involved in the affairs of the police or provincial armies of the municipalities or provinces. The investigation into the death of Mayor Said Selimovic should have been carried out by the respective police force in the city of Prijedor." The court further went on to order that the investigation be handed over to the municipality of Prijedor and recommended that the Minister of Defense be brought up on charges for interference in a police investigation and for overstepping the powers designated him by the Constitution. Singer/Songwriter Kenan Lakic, who is from the City of Banja Luka, released his new song today entitled "Bježi" (Runaway). The song, which was showcased early this morning on Ostarian television, details never giving up on a goal and going as far as you can, even if you have to "Runaway to the Stars". The song is the fourth that the singer has released in the year and it is believed that he is putting these songs together to make a 10 year anniversary album. The song was met with thunderous applause by the people that were in the television studio where he preformed the song and has also received 27.8 million views on his official website. The University of Ostaria, University of Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka, and several high schools have invited the singer to preform at their graduation ceremonies. The singer responded by saying that he would be honored to go and that he was amazed by the response his songs are receiving. Since the beginning of 2018, his songs have been viewed roughly 400 million times on his website and they have been bought 54 million times. That is all we have for now. Good morning and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story this morning, President Alexander Sar's Ostarian Democratic Union announced that the Our Homeland Party and the Ostarian Union for a Better Future would merge with the party. The move comes after talks between the two parties to form a joint Conservative Coalition with the Ostarian Union For a Better Future. The merger had been in the works for several years and the three parties finally sat down this morning to sign the paperwork declaring the name as Ostarian Democratic Coalition. The three parties, represented by the President, Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the Sabor, were declared as one single party roughly one hour ago by the Electoral Commission of Ostaria and the parties combined will now have a 2/3rds majority in all three levels of the National Assembly. The Ministry of Finance declared new changes to the bank rates today, increasing the interest rate on savings accounts and on certificates of deposit. The move comes after repeated success at the provincial level in Uta Mare and Mostar. The declared that over the next year, rates would increase by roughly 1.5%, and increase by 2% by the year 2022. Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda said that the increases were also due to the growing economy of Ostaria. "It is time that the banks catch up. The stock market is increasing on a daily basis, the minimum wage has been raised three times in the past 7 years, and the banks need to realize that they can't keep holding out on people." The Minister later added that he will meet with representatives of the banking industry to discuss the changes, but stated that since the National Assembly had already approved of it, the banks would have no right to refuse. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

I will continue to work to make our country better and it is because of the people that I will be able to." The University of Freedom of Ostaria will have construction begin on the school later this month after receiving private donations totaling 250 million dollars, and joint-government funds of 450 million. The school will be on of the first in the city of Lukavac, which was only built roughly 8 years ago. It will also be the first private held, Christian based university in the southern half of the country. The school is being sponsored by the First Church of Lukavac, which is the regional church for the overall Church of Ostaria, a Protestant based church. The school has already begun accepting early enrollment and will even allow dual enrollment, plus foreign students as well. The first Dean of Students will be Majda Velic, who was appointed by the church to lead the school. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here. |

Good evening and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Almasa Sinanovic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story tonight, President Alexander Sar was again on the campaign trail today, this time in the city of Obrenovac. The President, who has been across the entire coast of Ostaria in these past few weeks, spoke at the University of Obrenovac and at Independence Square in the city, reaffirming his love and determination for our sacred land. During the speech, he affirmed the need for an overhaul of the national healthcare system, an overhaul of education, and a new military budget. Towards the end of the speech he stated, "Ti si svjetlost duše, Vječne vatre plam" (You're the light of the soul, Eternal fire's flame), which is part of the national anthem and is the motto of the Ostarian Democratic Coalition. He stated he will soon be campaigning in several different regions and will even give a rally in Zagreb. In other news, Prime Minister Natasha Rucner issued a statement from the House with Chimeras earlier today announcing that she would retain the current cabinet that she has had for several months. In her address to the nation, she declared her support for the Ministers that have served under her since 2010 and declared that they would continue to serve her and the country. She also stated in the same speech that Nadezhda Kolyova, Second Deputy Prime Minister of Ostaria, would be declared the Minister of Island Affairs and the Minister of Minority Rights. She also declared that the Minister of Health, Nikolai Stefanovich, would be given more power over the Health Ministry, after gaining a majority of support in the three Houses, granting him extended powers to potentially create the National Health Service of Ostaria. The laws passed by the National Assembly declared that members answer directly to the President, who is the head of government. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

Good evening and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Alamasa Sinanvoic and here is the top stories from Ostaria! Our top story today, Prime Minister Natasha Rucner shocked the nation today when she announced that she would officially be resigning from the role of Prime Minister. The decision came after she was diagnosed Friday with stage 3 thyroid cancer and is going to be receiving extensive treatment in the city of Obrenovac. In her speech she said, "Ladies and Gentlemen of the National Assembly and of Ostaria, today I come before you all to announce my resignation as Prime Minister of our great Republic. Friday and this past weekend have been very hard for me and my family and the time has come for me to take care of myself and dedicate myself to receiving the treatments that I need. I thank the National Assembly for their confidence in me over the past few years and I congratulate everyone on all we have completed in these past years." In accordance with law, the position of Prime Minister will remain vacant for 36 hours before the National Assembly can appoint a replacement. President Alexander Sar on the other hand was holding a rally today in the city of Cazin with roughly 50,000 people in attendance. At the start of the rally, singer/songwriter Kadir Osmanovic unveiled a song entitled "Ovo Sam Ja" (This is Me), which will be the official song for the remainder of President Sar's campaign. Kadir, who has identified as bi-sexual, declared that he was not ashamed to write the song and that he is glad that the President took his offer seriously. President Sar, who stunned the audience and the people of the nation, called for the de-criminalizing of same-sex activity and even going as far as to allow LGBT people to adopt children. In a statement he said, "LGBT people are humans just like the rest of us. So they choose to love in a different way, what is the big deal? Does not the Lord tell us to not judge? What then are we doing if we continue to criminalize them from being able to be together in public or even raise a child?" After the speech, President Sar's approval rating soared to an all-time high of 84,5% and his statements were applauded by members of his own conservative party. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good afternoon and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the latest news from Ostaria! Our top story this afternoon, the National Assembly of Ostaria, comprised of the House of Representatives, the House of Peoples, and the Sabor, held a joint session today in which they voted to elect Predimir Vukašinović as Prime Minister of Ostaria. The vote comes after the resignation of Prime Minister Natasha Rucner and the period of vacancy, a traditional 24 to 36 hour period in which a Prime Minister may not be appointed. Predimir, who is the member for the 9th district of Sanski Most, was nominated by President Alexander Sar at the meeting this morning, after which the members debated and voted overwhelmingly in favor of the candidate. Vukašinović was then swore in as Prime Minister and decided to retain the same cabinet that Prime Minister Rucner had in place. President Alexander Sar then stated that the June election would also entail a general election for the National Assembly. Ljubomir Bojanić, one of the most prominent leaders of the War of Ostaria, and the founder of Our Homeland Party, was found dead this morning in his home by paramedics who were responding to a distress call from Bojanić's wife, Lyudima. According to the official medical report, paramedics arrived at the house at roughly 4:32 AM and discovered Ljubomir on the floor unconscious. CPR was provided at the scene and, after several unsuccessful attempts, he was taken to Our Lady of the Valley Hospital in Medjugorje. After several attempts to again provide CPR and shocking his heart back into rhythm, doctors officially declared Bojanić dead at 5:45 AM. President Alexander Sar was immediately notified of the passing and issued a statement thanking the Bojanić family, and directly Ljubomir, for all they had done in the forming of modern day Ostaria. Former Prime Minister's Natasha Rucner and Edin Bajramović issued statements offering condolences to the family and applauding Ljubomir for all he had done as the First Prime Minister of the Fourth Republic of Ostaria. A funeral service will be held in Sarajevo and he will be buried in Medjugorje after lying in state for 3 days. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

Good afternoon and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story, former Prime Minister Ljubomir Bojanić was placed in the National Liberty Hall today where he will lie in state for the next three days. The family of the Prime Minister arrived at the National Liberty Hall earlier today and viewed the body and made the final changes and preparations that they wanted to be done. Immediately following this, soldiers from the 50th Marine Battalion arrived to guard the body as well as pay respects to the family. Around 8:45 this morning, President Alexander Sar and Prime Minister Predimir Vukašinović arrived with their families to offer their condolences. During their time there, President Alexander Sar bestowed upon the former Prime Minister the titles of Hero of Ostaria and Order of the Blue Star, First Class. Prime Minister Predimir Vukašinović declared that a statue will be built to commemorate the former leader, once approval from the President, the Head of Government, is received. Ostarian author Amel Karic released another fantasy story this weekend. The book, entitled The Tale of Emir and Senada, is a love story that the author said took him four years to write. The story details the tale of an Ostarian man and a Celjian woman who go on a quest so that they will be allowed to marry. The Clejian woman, named Senada, is the Princess of the Eastern Realm, while Emir is the Crown Prince of the Northern Territories. The two, who meet in the 1980's at a royal dinner, immediately fall in love, but as they are of two different kingdoms, it is forbidden. The two continue to see each other over the next several years and eventually Crown Prince Emir asks Senada's father, King Nusret, for the right to marry his daughter. The King grants him permission if he can retrieve the crown of Elthar, a crown that has been hidden for years. The author of the book tells us that this will be a series and that this is the first book of 5, with the last set in the 2010's. Sales of the book have been quite impressive and even exceeded the expectations of the author and the publishing company. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

Good morning and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story today, former Prime Minister Ljubomir Bojanić was laid to rest today following a state funeral at the First Church of the Independents in Sarajevo, where Ljubomir Bojanić had been attending for several years. The service, which was preformed by his daughter Jana Kadric, was attended by roughly 5,000 people inside the church and several thousand lining the streets. President's Maid Galic, Alija Zovko, and Alexander Sar, along with Prime Minister's Edin Bajramović and Predimir Vukašinović were all in attendance of the service and paid their respects directly to the family. President Sar and Prime Minister Vukašinović presented the former Prime Minister's family with the Order of the Blue Star and the Hero of Ostaria awards. The Ministry of Defense released a statement this morning regarding an accident that occurred near the city of Dubrovnik. The military, which has been preparing for a military parade in several cities, announced earlier this morning that a military convoy had a major setback on the way to the city of Dubrovnik when the lead troop transport was hit by a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer driver, who doctors stated had a heart attack while driving, was leaving the city and eventually crossed over the lines and crashed into the front transport. The driver was immediately taken to the hospital, while several soldiers were sent to a military hospital. It was reported that 3 soldiers were dead and that over 12 had been injured. Two of the other vehicles and one tank were also slightly damaged by the tractor trailer and they said there will be a setback in the military parade for Dubrovnik. President Alexander Sar left right after the funeral for the city to meet with the troops and offer condolences to the families. The Ministry of Defense stated that charges will not be filed against the driver as he could not control a medical condition. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here. |

Good morning and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story, Miro Sladovic and Nadezhda Kolyova, the first and second Deputy Prime Minister respectively, were in the city of Klis today after reports were sent to the Council of Ministers that a portion of the Fortress of Klis has been damaged by erosion and by storms after repairs that took place less than ten years ago. The President dispatched the two ministers, both of whom have degrees in architecture, to survey the damage and make recommendations on repairs. Upon arrival, they noticed the damage was closer to the upper end of the fortress, including the area surrounding the flag of Ostaria that flies over the fortress. The two deputies stated that it could cost up to 100 million Ostarian Dinar to make all the repairs and that they would be requesting at least 50 million in the 2019 Fiscal Year. The town of Crikvenica will now be receiving several new buildings, a community center, new schools, two new hospitals, and even a new community college. The announcement was made by President Alexander Sar that the Sabor had held a contest to determine where extra funding that had been collected from tax revenues should go to. Over 200 towns and cities made bids and in the end, Crikvenica was declared the official winner of the contest winner and would receive over 19 billion dinar in funding that would go towards projects to help expand the community. Mayor Damir Rukavina stated that he was exhilarated that his city had been chosen to receive the funds. The project will take roughly 5 years to complete and the hospitals will be fully operation within 10 years time. New schools will be built to replace the current ones and they will also be given all new textbooks, computers, laptops, tablets, and other necessary equipment. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good morning and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story today, the Ministry of Health released a report earlier today in regards to disease. The report found that compared to the previous five years, that the rate of cancer has dropped by 15% and the total cases of the flu has dropped by 20%. The survey, which was done on the medical records of 5,000,000 people, found that, in regards to cancer, several people had either never smoked or had quit smoking, but were still exposed to smoke, and did not end up having cancer. They owed this to the new joint government-insurance program that will pay you back if you quit smoking or do not smoke to begin with and can prove it. In regards to the flu, the report stated that this was due to more people being vaccinated. Overall, the report found that general health had increased dramatically and that people were becoming more serious about their health. The study also found that if current trends continue, we could see the lowest rate of cancer by 2020. The Ministry of Defense made the announcement that the military has procured 15 new tanks, 18 armored personnel carriers, 12 infantry fighting vehicles, 6 ships, 2 submarines, and 15 new planes. The main tanks that were secured were the OS-82 and OS-84 models. The government stated that this was part of a plan to modernize the military, especially the Navy and the Air Force. The government did not release a statement in regards to how much the cost was, but did say that it had been paid for over the course of five years. The announcement also stated that the 6 ships would be divided into the three naval groups and that the tanks, APC's, and IFV's will be given to the Ostarian Marines. The Ministry at the end of its statement said that this will be the last major purchase for the next three years. The National Association of Space Exploration, the Ostarian government organization tasked with maintaining satellites and space travel, issued a statement earlier that they are expecting to launch a new satellite. K-182 "Molitva", the first satellite in a series of 8, will be launched on Saturday from the Sarajevo-Moldivia Launch Site and will hopefully be put into operation completely by the next day. The purpose of this satellite, according to the NASE, will be to be used as a weather and agricultural satellite. It will also be used as a topographic satellite to map out the mountain ranges of Ostaria. The life span of the satellite is expected to be 12 years. President Alexander Sar, who signed off on the Molitva Program, declared his excitement at the launching of the satellite and stated that he cannot wait to see what is in store for the remaining project. That is all we have for now. Thank you for joining us here! |

Good morning and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story this morning, the seven year project to complete the Unity Bridge, which connects Sarajevo to Dubrovnik, has been completed. The announcement came earlier this morning from the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Union on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister. President Alexader Sar was the first to drive across the bridge, going from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo. The President congratulated the workers on the amazing feat that they had completed and applauded their efforts. "It has taken seven years and tens of thousands of workers to complete this project. You should all be very proud of the work that you have done." The rail line section of the bridge also opened today and will begin regular trips between the two cities. The government is hoping that jobs will be created on both sides. The total cost of the project was 5 billion Ostarian Dinar, which means that 1,5 bilion Dinar was saved from the project and that it will be given to other projects in the country. Prime Minister Predimir Vukašinović appeared before the National Assembly today to answer to the Sabor Committee on Ethics. Late last week, three ministers, Igor Crnadak, Miro Sladovic, and Josip Grubesa, all resigned, citing corruption of the Prime Minister and refusal to cooperate with his government. The announcement came as a surprise to many government officials. The President then announced that he has lost faith in the government and will be issuing an order to replace to the Prime Minister. The Sabor Ethics Committee has brought a vote before the Sabor to remove the Prime Minister from his position and charge him with corruption of office, notwithstanding money laundering and nepotism. The President has agreed to announce replacements for those three cabinet members and decreed that they would be Darka Dobravec, Dajana Umek, and Sanija Birsa respectively. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |

Good evening and welcome to Ostaria 24! My name is Sanja Vucic and here is the news from Ostaria! Our top story tonight, singer/songwriter Alexander Sladovic, son of Deputy Prime Minister Miro Sladovic, released a song today entitled "We Got Love" and it has taken the nation by storm. The song, which was released on YouMusic and on the app IMusic for phones, has so far been viewed nearly 50,000,000 times and has been bought at almost the same amount. We spoke to the singer who told us that he released the song to be a cry for people to say what they feel about specific issues. "We have issues that are just tearing our nation apart. We have poverty, racism, and social inequality. We Got Love brings all these issues to light and calls for the people to come together through love instead of violence and hate." Political and Musical commentators have both applauded the song, as have human rights activists. Alexander will sing the song at the Grand Final of the Ostarian National Song Contest for the City of Dubrovnik. The Ostarian National Song Contest is in full swing as cities and regions have begun to choose their representatives. The 10 cantons, 8 provinces, and 42 cities will compete in the contest, with 28 songs qualifying from 2 semi-finals. In total, 29 cities, cantons, or provinces will compete in the grand final, with the City of Dubrovnik being an automatic qualifier as it won the last edition. It was announced today that the city of Ljubljana will host the first Semi-Final, Crikvenica will host the second, and the grand final will be hosted at the National Stadium in Dubrovnik. Ljubljana will host at the Stožice Sports Park, while Crikvenica will host at the Crikvenica Municipal Stadium. So far only the city of Sarajevo has announced its singer: Alexander Sladovic with "We Got Love". The city of Crikvenica will choose its contestant tomorrow. The contest will be held in November. The National Assembly of Ostaria announced yesterday that it was appointing Miro Sladovic as Prime Minister of Ostaria effectively immediately after the Sabor voted Predimir Vukašinović out of office and charged him with corruption and money laundering. The tricameral Parliament voted unanimously to appoint Miro Sladovic as Prime Minister and stated that he would remain in the position even after the Presidential election. President Alexander Sar nominated the Cabinet member for the position and when he was elected, was at the ceremony where he took the oath of office. Prime Minister Sladovic has stated that his cabinet will focus on healthcare, education, the economy, and human rights. PM Sladovic has been one of President Sar's greatest supporters and has even endorsed him for President. In a few weeks, Ostarians will go to the polls to decide whether President Alexander Sar will be re-elected or if the country will have a new President. As the results of polls stand now, President Sar will be re-elected. This comes after his popularity soared after he announced that funding would be given to rebuild several historical sites and that upgrades would be done to colleges, universities, and other schools across the nation. One lady we spoke with stated, "I will definitely be voting for President Sar. He is by far the best President we have had in the past 20 years and he has been a very influential person in our spheres of education and healthcare, but also in religion by guaranteeing religious freedom and allowing public worship without government interference like it was during the Socialist Era. He truly cares about the people and the children of our country and he will continue to make a great President." Our final story for tonight, the city of Crikvenica is now beginning to look like it is a completely different city. The funding from the government, which was granted roughly a month ago, has been put into the schools, hospitals, parks, centers of recreation, and even into churches. The Mayor of the City and the Chairman of the Sabor, both of whom co-chair the committee to do the modifications to the city, have overseen the efforts and have put out over 20 contracts for different jobs to be completed in the region. Of the 20 contacts, 19 have been filled and the last one only requires a signature. The city announced that another contract would be put out to repair the Crikvenica Municipal Stadium in time for the Second Semi-Final of the Ostarian National Song Contest, which Crikvenica will be hosting and competing in after an agreement with the National Broadcasting Union. That is all for now. Thank you for joining us here at Ostaria 24! |
