The Eastrovia Times ONLINE EDITION Confirmed: Government to Continue Humanitarian Aid and No-Fly Zone EASTROVIA -- It was confirmed today by a spokesman of DAFA that the Empress will continue the sponsorship of humanitarian aid to those in need to the war-torn areas of Aurora with the support of the East Malaysian Navy in providing convoy protection. It was also announced that East Malaysian embassies and consulates will remain closed and when asked to clarify when they will be reopened it was advised by the spokesman that they will "likely remain closed indefinitely." Also with the government's continued advisement of a no-fly zone to the areas effected it is believed that partners of the East Malaysian Economic Group (EM Group) will likely follow the advisement. With the advisement it prevents East Malaysian airlines to file flight plans nor allow the approval of a flight plan for international carriers to the majority of the Aurora continent. While no airliner has publicly spoke against the no-fly zone due to its popularity, it has shown in many of their quarterly earnings and in their stock value. In an email from the former CEO of Air East Malaysia, George Jax, "that it [the no-fly zone] is hurting the regional airlines that only fly from East Malaysia and to the south and that we should expect consolidation with smaller airlines or being acquired by East Malaysia's larger players in the [airline] industry." Just last month Southcaven Air and emXpress announced a merger and Southlines filed for liquidation and it's assets were being bought by EM Airways. When asked for comment on when they no-fly zone would be lifted the spokesman for DAFA said that he could not comment on the matter but that "it's the top priority of the government to keep its citizens and any tourist that may pass through East Malaysia safe." |
