![]() After a hard-fought campaign which saw the resignation of both the Kirrhion, Ryan Mariner, and the Leader of the Opposition, Taren Elti'a, after numerous scandals involving the leaking of state secrets to neighboring Verdrassil, the polls have finally closed with a relatively low turnout of 94.3%. The Ministry for Democracy has released the final vote count: ![]() Kyrloth News Central understands that Njiera Utla, the new leader of the Resource Control Board is "unlikely" to enter into coalition with its previous partners, the Soldiers' Guild, due to "irreconcilable ideological differences". In a statement from his lawyer, Masari Té has confirmed his party's refusal to enter into any form of coalition with "the heretics [RCB and CoS]". As such, the most likely outcome is a grand coalition between the two largest parties, made possible by Hefanira Tara's more centrist policies. No deal has been arranged as of yet, and Njiera Utla will remain acting Kirrhion until 10 Midwinter [13 April], when the T'ssarion will appoint the Kirrhion unless a coalition of more than 72 seats is not formed, in which case a new election will be held on 6 Yearmun [19 April]. BREAKING: MASARI TÉ ARRESTED 1344-e-10 Masari Té and many core members of his Spiritualist party, including all elected members of parliament, have been arrested on numerous charges after a riot over the conquest of [nation]Atiland[/nation] by [nation]Kuthernburg[/nation]. Reports say Té blamed Atiland's loss on "the heathenous swine [having] turned their backs on God", before leading a charge against Azmarin police which resulted in seventy injured, four critically. As members of parliament are not permitted to take their seats in government while under police custody, and as such cannot vote against the formation of a new government, the working majority required for a coalition has been lowered from 73 to 69 seats, opening up new possibilities for the Resource Control Board and the Council of Scientists. Sentencing for Té and his compatriots is expected to begin in after Midwinter [April 10]. BREAKING: COS-SG COALITION DEAL REACHED 1344-e-12 After two days of renegotiation following the arrests of all eight MPs of the Spiritualists of Azmarin-Zlovskavaar party, Hefanira Tara of the Council of Scientists has announced that she has reached a coalition deal with Sinter Tass of the Soldiers' Guild. In a statement to the press, Tara cited the recent destruction of the nation of Atiland as a major reason for the decision: "It is clear to me, and to Mr. Tass, that the safety of this great nation is in danger so long as we neglect our army, navy and air force. Our government will invest heavily in research and development to keep at the cutting edge of military science to stop us following Atiland into the dusty books of history. Only in this way, with this coalition, can we secure the continued existence of the Republic of Kyrloth." The coalition deal was only made possible by the vacancy of eight seats following the riots on Fadi [Saturday] - Tara and Tass will control a combined 70 seats, below the original threshold of 73. As it is unlikely that any of the SoAZ members of parliament will be released before Yearmun 1 [April 11], the T'ssarion will appoint HEFANIRA TARA as the 73rd Kirrhion of the Republic of Kyrloth. |

CANDIDATE SELECTED FOR URTHVISION 1344-e-28 The Board of Musicians has finished its selection process for the delegation to Free Syllvin for the 4ᵗʰ Urthvision Song Festival after a hard-fought contest between fan favourite Azmariner Sterin Matchett, and Jack Tschun, from Erith. The Board said its decision was based entirely around lyrical prowess, but acknowledged that "it was about time someone from outside Azmarin got to represent the country." Jack Tschun will be performing Chalr is'Seha [Love Letter] at the contest in Usk Consarvos, which will be broadcast live at 10pm on Midwinter 1 [April 1] on KTV1. |

URTHVISION RESULTS 1344-mw-10 The Results for Kyrloth's first entry into the Urthvision contest at the 4th Urthvision Songfest held in Usk Consarvos, [nation]Free Syllvin[/nation]: Kyrloth has placed 5th out of 11 nations competing, with Jack Tschun's Love Letter, which received five points from most nations, but the maximum 11 from [nation]Blueacia[/nation]. But the night was all about Lorien of [nation]Furnifold[/nation], who won a staggering 80 points with Statements, and who will be hosting the 5th Songfest, due to take place later this year. HEFANIRA TARA APPOINTED KIRRHION 1345-yr-01 The first session of the 19th Parliament of Kyrloth took place today, after the customary appointing of the new Kirrhion, Hefanira Tara, by T'ssarion Turaisren Zlovsky, that took place in the morning. During her opening speech, she pledged to do more to help the progress of military technology, to "keep Kyrloth safe from potential threats". Opposition leader and former Kirrhion Njiera Utla responded with claims that it would cost "more than it's worth", as treasurer Keras Qirat is yet to unveil his budget overview for the next three years. The trial of Masari Té is expected to begin later this month. He is to face charges of inciting violence, assault, and battery of a police officer. |

MASARI TÉ FOUND GUILTY, SENTENCED 1345-sr-11 The Ministry for Justice has found Spiritualist party leader Masari Té guilty, following a month-long trial regarding the riots of Earlymun 10 which saw seventy injured, two of which later died in hospital. Té was charged and found guilty of inciting violence, assault, and battery of a police officer. He has been sentenced to three hundred hours of community service, but will not serve any jail time, as, according to Judge Ketura Sizha, Té has "an obligation to represent those that voted for him, regardless of the result of this trial". As such, Té will be allowed to take his seat in parliament. In a similar vein, the seven other members of parliament arrested over the riot have been given sentences of two hundred hours community service each, but are allowed to take their seats in parliament. Té will arrive just in time for the latest debate regarding a bill to increase funding for Kisaka, Kyrloth's military research branch. This bill was an integral part of the coalition deal that Hefanira Tara signed with Sinter Tass. However, with the Spiritualists returning to the Houses of Parliament tomorrow, it may no longer have enough votes to pass. |
