Recently, I was on the BBC website and I came across a webpage for a new Asian-oriented drama called Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee. It sounded so cool, I wonder if will show on BBC America or be distributed to public television stations so we Americans can view them. Do we have any British people on this forum, and if so, have you seen episodes of this drama, and if you've seen it, do you like what you see? Homepage for Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee ![]()

I'm British, but I haven't seen it. I don't watch much tell apart from the new Dr. Who series... EDIT: I noted that Ha Ha Hee He is by one of the writers and actresses from the comedy Goodness Gracious Me, which is sheer Brilliance, so I expect good things from this new series, even if its not a comedy. |

Sorry, but I don't tend to watch much TV during term time, so this is the first I've heard about it. As Cakatoa mentions, however, it shares a lot of its cast with Goodness Gracious Me, and was written by Meera Syaal, so it's probably fairly good. |

Well, when Coupling was shown on public television (more accurately, from WGBH Boston in my area), that was such a huge hit (I remeber seeing the Boston Metro newspaper saying that "British comedy has gone to new heights, in the form of "Coupling""), because British comedy, no matter if it's from ITV or BBC, is exremely popular (I can't even tell you how many people in my state alone are big fans of comedies such as ITV's Barbara and Mr. Bean and the BBC's Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Blackadder, and other comedies). Even British dramas (such as He Knew He Was Right, Monarch of the Glen, and Coronation Street) are extremely popular - more popular than the usual fare, such as Law and Order and CSI. This was the first I've heard of this drama, and it sounded familiar because North America has a lot of Indians (aka British Asians), so it has some relevance. I wonder when the drama will come Stateside, probably on PBS? |

I would like to object to the classification of Coronation Street as 'drama'. Whilst I've liked a lot of British drama in recent years, I'd still say that some American stuff is better - The West Wing, Six Feet Under, for example. |

Sorry if I hit any nerves, 'cause the CBC classifies Coronation Street as a drama. I'm also sure a lot of Americans would also agree, if they've seen it. |
