FPS=pissed. Govindia, the only reason I allowed your border guard to cover your entire border is because you assured me that the Indian BSF has its entire border covered, and as your modelled after India, it should work out. Well, guess what? India's BSF doesn't cover the entire border. And with no real life example supporting it, I see no reason to say that yours does. You realize what it takes to cover the entirety of a border, man? Hundreds of thousands of miles? Judging by our national pouplations, probably millions of miles. And your trying to tell me that you have the entire thing covered? You realize the manpower, logisitcs, etc., that would be required for that? You can forget having a draft if it were to come to war. You'd have too many people in your border guard. When I looked at your border guard before hand, I saw something based off real life, and though inhibiting to RP, still realistic. Now, all I see is a "You can't touch me!" Godmod defense, to be frank. Besides the frank lie that has been told to me, and continued even after real evidence was presented against it. Five years ago or not, I don't see you giving any counter-evidence. Which, to me, means the counter evidence does not exist. At this point, its your job to either find me a Real Life example of a large nation with Godlike border control policies, or stop acting like you have one. I'm sorry to rule like this, Govindia, but without RL example, this just isnt' flying. |

And even if every single person was stopped at the border, you have to realize that there is such things as forged documents. Remember a little thing called the Cold War? There was always this fear of foreign spies, because it is impossible to stop every single one. Intelligence agencies have vast resources, and are smart enough to find or make a forgery, pay off one of your thousands of border gaurds or something. You admitted to having tourists... well how do they get in? Don't you think terrorists pose as tourists? There are infinite possibilities. |

india has mountains. The himalayan areas are under pax territory, so with pax's little iron border gates, there would be no way for pax to get by on foot without those gates being open. Hence why our border guard can reasonably guard the borders that way. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that as it's a civil agency, a draft won't much be needed. FPS, given how you understood my points previously, I ask you to please reconsider dude, seriously |

No. But Krech spies do live in Gnidrah, and they can pretty easily pose as tourists from there. |

Either I have missed your point, or you have missed his. I believe his point was that he could easily have spies in Govindia, simply by using another nation as a gateway. |

Precisely. Here's an easier description. 1) Krech spy enters Gnidrah via embassy. 2) Krech spy pretends to be Gnidran 3) Krech spy enters Govindia, pretending to be Gnidran tourist. |

Spies would be checked out for ID and such, but as long as they knew how to fake accents and IDs, thy probably wouldn't get caught. If someone did get found out, what would happen? We found Russian spies in America fairly often. |

Really? Then how did Russian spies operate in America and vice-versa for so long? How do nations still spy on each other? If I had a guy who, say, lived in Gnidrah for a few years, he'd practice the accent. This is an advanced spy organization we're talking about. I think my agents would know what they're doing.
Everyone in the world has an accent. |

Despite our weird names for things (Ycraes?), Gnidrahns have general American and British accents. So, that would not be hard to mimick, especially for someone who is trained to do just that. |

The point is moot. Govindia, I'm sure that, as a nation not quite out of isolationism, your government is doing the best it can to secure your borders. However, without an example of a democratic RL nation of large size that has totally secured its border from non-military unauthorized penetration, I simply cannot support your statement that Govindia has done so. At which time as you can present RL evidence of such a nation, I would be more then happy to reconsider. Minus that evidence, however, any such border guard will be seen by my office, and the EP, as both unrealistic, and not in existance. Thus, the nations debating here need not sneak in some spy via Gnidrah's diplomatic team. They just need to get them through one of the less guarded areas of your border. Thank you all for your time, and your comments and statements in this debate. This decision is official and final, save presentation of evidence by Govindia to me, or formal appeal (to Codex, who is back, btw). Again, thank you for your time. This thread is now locked. |
