Taken from Keelan Ranger artillery positions, 3 miles outside of Vladistock City
Reports of the detonation of a 10-12 kiloton nuclear device in downtown Vladistock City have now been officially confirmed by the Vladistockian Government. The blast, taking place just after 7 this morning, came without warning or foresight for anyone involved.

Remnants of the South Tower of the Capital Building

The most recent reports show massive damage to the city infrastructure, with nearly fourty city blocks almost entirely demolished. The death toll, of current, is expected to be in the tens of millions, as the city's large population, as well as the massive number of soldiers engaging in combat in the city, were for the most part whiped out.

International responses to the nuclear detonation has varried. Several nations have gone to heightened military alert, with FPS going to Defense Readiness Condition 1. Several other nations, meanwhile, have merely offered condolences or condemnations. The EPTO is also rumored to be discussing possible aide packages to Vladistock Island.

Refugees Overwhelm the Liberty City International Airport Customs Center

At the same time as many citizens pick up arms and support one side of the Vladistockian Civil War, many more are packing up and fleeing the country. Since the begining of the war, nearly 35,000 Vladistockians have arrived in FPS every day (directly from Vladistock or indirectly through a number of other nations), demanding to be allowed entrance as per the FPS/Vladistock 30-Day Visa Plan. Since the nuclear blast, that number has nearly doubled, leaving FPS authorities shocked and awed.

Krechziankan military personel responded immediatly to contain the crises and eliminate the terrorists.

Of yet, the Krechziankan government has made no official statement on the matter, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Candlelight Procession Honors Murdered Xiopothan Commerce Minister

Candlelight Ceremonies were held Across Xiopothos to Honor the Fallen Minister

The murder of beloved Xiopothan Minister of Commerce Leif de Cervantes by a terrorist communist group last week came as a shock and a horror to the Xiopothan people, who had expected the sorrows and tragedies of the Dovakhan Situation to come to an end with the Rillanon Peace Treaty. Although the initial response to his death was outrage, that outrage quickly turned to mourning and sorrow, as the country realized its loss.

Whilst a private funeral was held in Flossieur, tens of thousands of Xiopothans attended candlelight processions in his honor. Processions of smaller size were also held in several predominantly Xiopothan sectors of a number of FPS cities.

Coalition of Corporations and Organizations Take Up Arms Against Vissero Corporation and Associates

In response to the Vissero Corporation's recent commercial announcements, nearly seventy five corporations and private organizations have banded together to file a Class Action Lawsuit against Vissero, accusing the Imatronian Corporation of planning to establish a monopoly in the FPS Information Technology Sector.

The coalition of organizations and corporations have selected and hired the Reisen Legal Firm to act as their advocate. Heading the Class Action Team is attorney Mika Mahaffey, who is "confident that we will stop Vissero from destroying the FPS Information Technology Market through the establishment of a monopoly."

Although the trial is not to be heard until sometime next week, activity in relation to it has already begun. Earlier today, Mahaffey sucesfully filed for an injuncture against Vissero & Associates, asking they not be alowed to begin sales until that time as the trial is concluded.

FPS National Legislator Elections Begin

Posted Image

If you want reform in your country, or you don't want it to change, vote now! FPS National Legislator Elections began at 6:00 this morning, and will continue until 10:00 tonight! Exert your right as an FPS Citizen, and Vote! You get the day off for a reason!

Vissero Lawsuit Shotdown

The 2nd FPS Circuit Court ruled in favor of Vissero & Associates this morning, citing studies proving that there will still be competition by FPS companies, and that there already is competition between Imatronian Companies. Although the Coalition of Organizations and Corporations filing did promise to appeal, it is doubtful the ruling will be overturned.

On Ceiling Street, IT Corporation Stock Values have already plummeted.

FPS National Legislator Elections End

The Federal Elections Service announced early this morning that they had finished tallying the hand ballots of those districts whose voting computers broke down. At 11:00 AM, they announced the official Results of the election. Of the 11,000 Representatives in the Assembly, 4400 will be Centrists, 734 will be Conservative Reformists, 440 will be Capitalist-Libertarians, 1466 will be Communal Isolationists, 3666 will be Hive Integrators, and 294 will be Independants (usually write-ins). The Federal Council's 140 Seats will be filled by 56 Centrists, 9 Conservative Reformists, 6 Capitalists-Libertarians, 17 Communal Isolationists, 47 Hive Integrators, and 5 Independants (again, cheifly write-ins).

To say the least, the results were shocking, with the Hive Integration Party receiving 1/3 of the total vote: three times what they were expected to receive. Meanwhile, Henrik Kroidrik received only 7%, a fifth of what was expected of him. Pre-Election surveys actually showed the two being in exact opposite positions.

Other parties also had turnouts differing from pre-election surveys. The Capitalist Libertarian Union may not survive to see the next election, gaining only 1% more votes then the Independants. The only party that seemed to keep with expectations was that of the Communal Isolationists.

Explanations for this dissonance in pre-election surveys and actual results are abound. The most plausible explanation revolves around the massive demonstrations put on by Hive Integrists, who hoped to sway voters as they entered the polls. Ultimately, the plan succeded, scaring off many who would not have voted for the Hive, and converting many more. For the first few hours of the election, the Pax took a massive lead, taking over 70% of the vote.

Around noon, however, the arrival of large groups of centrist demonstrators destroyed the Pax's plans, as many of those who were unsure began to go for the party they were more familiar with, and many Centrists came to cast their ballots. At the same time, news got out that the Centrists seemed the only ones capable of defeating the HIP, resulting in a number of people voting for the Centrists simply to keep the Hive Integration Party from being the most powerful.

Regardless, however, the election was a contentious one, with recounts and re-elections being demanded by many. Of yet, the FES has publicly declared that it has not intention of doing any re-count or re-election, and has gone on to state that it recognizes the controversial election results as valid.

Situations Worsens in Zalebano
Posted Image

Chaos broke out at a military checkpoint earlier today, as several dozen frightened civilians attempted to bypass a military quarentine. Whilst National Guardsmen did sucesfully maintain the quarentine, one national guardsmen and five civilians were injured, whilst another fifteen civilians were arrested.

The incident, though numerically insignificant, portrays the worsening situation in Zalebano, as local and federal forces attempt to combat the continued spread of the influenze virus. Despite the massive efforts by the FPS Government, however, FPS has now become the 2nd Most Affected Nation by the plague, leaving it behind 1 Infinite Loop only as a result of President Matthew Terrus' quick efforts to curtail the virus' spread on Day Six of the Epidemic.

For an estimated 65,000 FPSians, however, these efforts came too late. It can only be hoped that the virus does not spread further.

FPS Switches Tacts for International Quarentine
Posted Image

In a joint statement earlier today, a spokesperson for the FPS Federal Bureau of Health stated that it planned to offer a second option to the six day quarentine it has been requiring of international travelers entering into FPS. The second option, implemented as a result of the massive inconvenience the six day waiting period has been causing international travelers, calls for said travelers to provide a blood sample, which will then be tested for the flu.

Although many needlphobics have objected to being left between a rock and a hard place (that is, between a six day quarentine and having a needle stuck in their arm), most passengers have welcomed the second option, which should cut quarentine time down from six days to less then four hours.

For those passengers unwilling, the six day quarentine will remain in effect.

Demonstrations Heat Up
Posted Image
Faramount Police Disperse a Group of Violent Centrist Party Demonstrators Outside the Faramount International Airport

For the past few months, demonstrators from both the Centrist and Pax parties have been organizing march after march and demonstration after demonstration. Originally, these demonstrations were purposely held at different times of day, far away from one another, that violence and civil disorder could be avoided.

Not that it wasn't already happening. Violence has been seen at almost every Centrist Demonstration, with large groups of Pro-Terrus FPSians attacking drones, hostile bystanders, and even police in many situations. Although seldom violent, the Pax have proved just as much of a nuisance as a result of their refusal to abide by police orders. Between the clogging of roadways, blocking of building entrances and exits, and (when it happens) the extreme damage caused by violent drones, the Pax have come to be seen in a light even more negative then that of Semi-Law-Abiding Centrist Demonstrators.

The problems caused by both party's demonstrators continue to be a nuisance. Only now, things have gotten worse. For every group of Pax Marchers, a group of Centrist Demonstrators now springs up, and for every group of Centrist Demonstrators, a group of Pax Marchers have begun to appear. For last several weeks, this dangerous situation continued, with demonstration sizes growing and growing. Last night, it climaxed, when a crowd of several thousand Centrists attempted to attack a crowd of several thousand Pax Drones. Though rioting was averted, the Centrist crowd was forced to disperse, with nearly 200 arrests, and 70 injuries resulting.

Although local authorities have yet to begin requesting state, territorial, federal, or military aide, if the situation is not soon amended, such aide may become necesary.

National Legislator Debates Protest Laws
Posted Image

With demonstrations and protests turning more and more violent across the nation, the FPS National Legislator has begun discussing the passing of legislation designed to assist police in their maintainance of control. Thus far, the two most controversial bills proposed have been the Anti-Riot Act and the Demonstration-Safety Act, both of which have gained both positive and negative feedback from every party.

The less controversial of the bills is the Demonstration-Safety Act, which, for the most part, simply calls for demonstration leaders to file a large ammount of paperwork with the local city police ten days in advance of the protest or demonstration. If paperwork is not filed, among other restrictions, the demonstration cannot involve any noise-creating devices, cannot include more then fifty persons, and can only be held on a sidewalk or public lawn. Major objections to the bill for the most part circle around charges that it violates freedom of speech and expression.

The more controversial of bills is the Anti-Riot Act, which allows police to disperse a crowd if it does not follow police orders, is not in concordance with the Demonstration-Safety Act, or appears to be heading towards a violent ending. Again, the major objection revolves around possible violations of freedom of speech and expression.

It is to be seen how the bills will fare.

Although no one died in the fire, seven were injured, and fourty buildings burnt down.

FPS Military to Abandon M113A4 Vehicle
Posted Image
One of the Recently Phased Out M113A4 Vehicles

In a press conferance this morning, Secretary of Defense Chris Herfeld officially stated that the FPS Military plans to have completly phased out the M113A4 within the week. When asked how the FPS Military planned to phase the vehicle out so quickly, Herfeld replied by stating that: "We already have. We'll simply be deciding what to do with the vehicles over the next week."

The announcement has come as a suprise to many, both inside and outsie the military. According to sources within the Octagon, the FPS Government did not released it's plans to phase the vehicle out as a result of the sensitive tactical nature of the information. Although some critics have noted that it is the right of the FPS Public to have knowledge of their nation's defensive capabilities, and that the FPS Government had no right to hold this information back, most experts are praising the Terrus administration for its ability to keep the secret.

With the three year long debate over which vehicle should be the FPS Standard Infantry Vehicle now over, the only question is what will be done with the vehicles. Herfeld stated that many would be sent to police forces and federal agencies across the nation for use in extremely violent situations. Many more will be kept in storage, to replace those vehicles sent to the police and federal agencies (if necesary).

A major minority, however, will probably just end out being scrapped, as a result of the government's inability to find a use for them. In his concluding thoughts, Harden did note that FPS would be willing to sell the still-very-effective vehicles, though he would not discuss whether or not FPS had received any offers for the vehicles.

National Emergency Alert System Activated
Posted Image
At the order of President Matthew Terrus, the National Emergency Alert System has been activated. FPP has been asked to convey the following information to it's readers.

1. All employees of the FPS Federal Government, or any Territorial, State, County, or Local Government are to report immediatly to their emergency situation posts.

2. All military and national guard personel are to take notice that DefCon 1 has been declared.

3. All civilians are advised to report immediatly to the nearest building declared a shelter against a nuclear bombing.

More information will come as given. Until which time as the EAS is deactivated, no further stories will be reported (as most of our staff is currently on it's way to the nearest nuclear shelter). Good luck in the upcoming crises.

Staff Members Volunteer to Continue Writing
Despite the sound of air raid sirens in the backround, several reporters and technicians of the Free Pacific Online Post have volunteered to continue reporting stories through the crises. For this, the FPOP strenuously thanks them, and hereby comes back online...making it one of three FPS News Services currently broadcasting anything besides the Emergency Alert Message.

Although these reporters and technicians will do their best, FPOP asks those reading our pages to bear with any mistakes in spelling, grammer, or technical design. We are low on staff, and are thereby unable to fully check our work.

Those staying have asked to remain anonymous, the leader of the small group stating that: "it's our job to get the news to the people, both inside and outside of FPS. We shouldn't be thanked for it. It should be expected of us."

Terrus Vows to Support East Malyasia
Posted Image

In a press conference earlier today, Blue House Press Secretary Roslyn Freshwater released a statement from President Matthew Terrus in which Terrus vowed to "support our ally [East Malyasia] against the agression of the West Malyasian nation."

The statement came as a suprise, taking into account Terrus' record in remaining nuetral in armed conflicts. When asked about this fact, however, Freshwater noted that Terrus: "is not a pacifist; he's simply more cool-headed then other leaders in this region have been in the past." She went on to state that: "in many of the EP's recent wars, there has been no clear-cut good guy or bad guy. In this case, we have one nation attacking another nation outright without provocation. So far as good and bad guys go, this is about as clear cut as it gets."

The tactical results of the move are debatable at best. In the case of a ground landing by West Malyasian forces, there is little doubt FPS will be able to do much to support EM. But should WM launch a space bombardment, FPS will be all but defenseless, the few plans it has for defense against a space fleet usually designed to take advantage of Pax overconfidence. Something which will not factor into the equation in a defense against the West Malyasian fleet.

At this point, the National Legislator has not approved Terrus' call for war, something it must do before Terrus can can launch an attack. However, judging by the debate taking place in the Hall of the Federation at current, there is little chance that a declaration of war will not be given.

Military Goes to High Alert
Posted Image
Pilots and mechanics at the Liberty City Air Force Base scramble to their alert stations

In response to Terrus' call to arms, FPS has moved to DefCon (Defense Readiness Condition) One, the highest of DefCons. As per this move, the nation's military has gone to full alert, all active, reserve, and on-leave military personel being called in for service. Across the nation, the military is scrambling to prepare to defend EM, and if necesary, FPS.

Despite this massive show of force, however, it should be noted that the chances of FPS making a difference are slim. The fact is that FPS has no space force, and against a space force, will find itself in a very difficult, if not impossible, battle. Truly, it's only hope is that the EM and Kandarinese Fleets will destroy the WM Attack Force.

FPS Populace Scrambles for Cover
Posted Image
A public school hurries to transport it's students to a nearby WMD shelter

With the move to DefCon One, and a possible defensive war only hours away, civil authorities have begun a massive effort to prepare the populace for survival of an all-out attack. As air raid sirens blare, police officers, firefighters, and other government workers rush to get civilians to buildings deemed capable of surviving a WMD attack. As most are already aware, the Emergency Alert System has been activated, and all citizens are being advised to head to the nearest shelter.

At that point which an attack occurs, all shelters will go into full lockdown. Within the shelters, government employees and volunteers will help to keep order, whilst police officers prepare to defend the structures should it become necesary. Meanwhile, throughout FPS, militia groups, and groups of volunteers have taken up positions with the armed forces, preparing to assist them through a guerrilla warfare campaign.

The majority of the FPS populace, however, is scrambling for cover in the nearest shetler, merely hoping to survive the conflict (should it occur).

FPS Requests EPTO Support East Malyasia
Posted Image

Even as the rest of FPS scrambles for cover, the EPTO has continued to operate normally. Minutes ago, after passing out an information packet on recent events, the FPS Representative to the EPTO called for an emergency meeting, requesting the alliance support East Malyasia in it's defense against West Malyasia.

In the past, the EPTO has failed to support member-states attacked by others. The EPTO's actions here may be the final deciding factor in whether or not the alliance is taken seriously.

Insurgents Begin Operations in Occupied Tyrsis
Posted Image

The detonation of a car bomb at a Dannistrian Road Block earlier today all but made the official announcement that the occupation of Tyrsis will not be an easy promise. Although only a single act, history shows that the event most likey foreshadows events of the like that will follow in future times.

Whether or not this insurgency will spread to FPS Occupied Tyrsis, and how the Dannistrians will respond, are the only real questions at this time. Several were killed, and over a dozen injured in the blast.

East Malyasian/Kandarinese Forces Engage West Malyasians
Posted Image
Battle for Maylasian Superiority Begins
The word that the battle had begun arrived in a brief statement by the East Malyasian Representative to the EPTO: "By the way... the fleet [of East Malyasia] has engaged the enemy [West Malyasia\..."

Within moments, however, FPS satilites were confirming the statement, as hundreds of ships began executing increasing complex tactical manuevors to defeat their enemies. Within thirty seconds, the battle had become a confusing mess of capital ships, fighters, and boarding craft, as the fleets of East Malyasia, Kandarin, and West Malyasia engage.

Of yet, no clear victor has been determined. But FPOP will continue to watch for developments, and give updates with any new information it receives.

East Pacific Treaty Organization Votes to Assist East Malyasia
Posted Image
EPTO General Assembly Votes on Resolution to Dispatch Emergency Action Force to Assist East Malyasia
With a vote of four to one with six abstentions, the East Pacific Treaty Organization (EPTO) resolved only minutes ago to dispatch the Emergency Action Force (EAF), and the EPTO Humanitarian Aide Force (EPTOHAF) to assist East Malyasia in it's conflict with West Malyasia. In the same resolution, the EPTO called for member states to assist East Malyasia via humanitarian aide, and if possible, military support.

The decision came as a major victory to the representatives of Free Pacific States and East Malyasia, both of whom were major proponents of providing assistance. FPS President Matthew Terrus, who had originally supported the decision in order to restore the credibility of the EPTO, noted that: "this decision once again establishes the EPTO as a major force in the East Pacific; an organization to be reckoned with."

Not everyone is happy with the decision, however. FPS Chancellor Henrik Kroidrik has publicly spoken against the move, stating that: "the only way the EPTO will ever be regarded seriously is if the entire alliance assists member nations in conflicts. The EAF is designed to assist a member state temporarily until other member states can take the necesary actions to initiate a full conflict on their own. It is not designed to act as a military force in and of itself, it is not even designed to act in concordance with one or two other nations. It'd designed to act with accordance with the militaries of every major nation in the alliance."

Also objecting to the resolution was the Deputy Representative of Nivogal objected who voted against it for reason that his nation did not have enough information to make a decision on the matter, despite that information provided by FPS at the begining of the emergency meeting. Speaking on the matter, however, FPS Representative Josh Leinsen noted that: "the deputy representative was most likely just trying to stall for time, that the primary representative of Nivogal could arrive."

Whatever the case, the decision will no doubt be good news to East Malyasians, who have been fighting a massive battle for nearly five hours now, and can use any help they can get.

Dannistrian Plaza Bombed by Terrorists

Post Explosion: Father Attempts to Aide Injured Child

Eighty civilians were killed and another two hundred injured in the largest Tyrsin Insurgent Attack to date. Taking place in a major commercial plaza in Dannistaan, the attack has also become the first terrorist attack to date by Tyrsin insurgents on Dannistrian soil.

The attack took place at 11:35 this morning, just about the time that most Dannistrians were leaving work for lunch. The bomb, apparently a large improvised explosive device (IED), was being carried within a truck that had parked at the South End of the park. When the driver (who is thought to have died in the blast) triggered the device, the explosion ripped through the crowd of nearly 200 pedestrians, and the vehicles of another 50 drivers. Also damaged were a number of buildings facing the plaza, including the FPS Embassy to Dannistaan.

As emergency authorities (assisted by the Dannistrian military) continue to deal with the crises, speculation has begun as to the identity of the attackers. Although no group has yet to claim responsibility, several high-ranking members of the Dannistrian and FPSian Armed Forces (who have asked to remain anonymous) do believe the attack to have been sponsored by the Tyrsin Imperial Guard, the same group responsible for the multiple attacks on Dannistrian Peacekeepers in the former Tyrsis Imperium over the past sixteen days.

If the attack was sponsored by the Imperial Guard, there will no doubt be a large political repurcussion in Dannistaan. The only question being whether the pro-war or anti-war advocates will act quickly enough to receive the benefit of the bombing. Whichever way it goes, there will doubtlessly be a large change in the political climate in Dannistaan in the upcoming days.

Meanwhile, in Nordu Dannistra, a people are just begining to grieve the lost of friends and loved ones.

FPS Takes Lenient Occupationary Policy in South Tyrsis

Posted Image
Interim Governor Nita Hauk, flanked by pardoned former imperial police officers

In a press conferance earlier today, FPS Interim Governer Nita Hauk of the FPS administered Port Lyon Bank Territory stated that any employees of the former Tyrsin Government (excepting those serving in high administrative or military positions) that returned to the places of their work would be given a full pardon, and allowed to return to the FPS equivolent of their former positions.

Designed to faciliate reconstructive efforts in the Port Lyon Bank Territory, the move is based on the theory that those who were serving in government positions most likely comprise the majority of the Tyrsin population willing to serve in government. And as the reconstruction effort will call for a large number of government employees, getting the majority of those Tyrsins willing to serve in government back into government positions will be a necesity.

Added to this reasoning has been the argument that the most likely supporters of the Tyrsin Insurgency Movement will be former government employees, who cannot return to regular life as a result of the occupation, and will thus be motivated to assist in the ending of the FPS occupation. To quote Hauk: "it's our hope that, when offered the chance to return to regular life, most Tyrsins will accept, leaving the insurgency with a much smaller support base."

Of yet, FPS has not been hit by the Tyrsin insurgents, most likely as a result of the large number of FPSians in FPS Administered Port Lyon Bank. However, to quote General Ganzez, commander of FPS military forces in the Lyon Bank: "it's better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best then simply to hope for the best."

Although for the most part the move has received support, there has been some criticism, primarily on the reasoning that many of these former Trysin government employees may have willfully taken part in attrocities, and may now be getting a free pardon simply for returning to the job in which they commited said attrocities.

However, at this time, most Tyrsins and FPSians are more concerned about preventing an insurgency movement and fostering a quick reconstruction then punishing low-ranking government employees who may have taken some pleasure from the immoral actions they may have taken. And so long as this fact remains true, it is doubtfull FPS' lenient occupationary policy will be at all revised.

Tyrsin Imperial Guard Claims Responsibility for Saint Joseph Bombing

Posted Image
Tyrsin Imperial Guard Spokesperson

In a videotape released to Free Pacific Post reporter Clement Basinger earlier today, a masked man claimed responsibility on behalf of the Tyrsin Imperial Guard for the Saint Joseph Plaza bombing in Nordu Dannistra.

The bombing, which took the lives of 79, and injured over 220 more, has been chronicled as the largest terrorist attack in the East Pacific this year, killing and injuring more then the Moro Liberation Front's attack in Rillanon and the Krechziankan Public School Bombing during the Dovakhan Crises.

Though the Dannistrian government has yet to officially confirm that the Tyrsin Imperial Guard's claims are correct, the description of the explosive device during the tape matches that given to the press by several Nordu Dannistra Bomb Squad Members (who have asked to remain anonymous). High level correspondants in the Dannistrian government (who have also asked to remain anonymous) have also hinted that a statement may soon be released confirming the claims of the Tyrsin Imperial Guard.

The self-identified "spokesperson" for the Tyrsin Imperial Guard stated that though the Guard did not support violence against civilians, Dannistaan's imperialist actions during the conflict had to be met in kind. The spokesperson then went on to deny accusations of genocide, stating that: "the emporer, unlike those that accuse him, would never take such horrific actions." The man finished the tape off stating that: "so long as the imperialist Dannistrians and their allies do not withdraw from Dannistaan, we will continue to fight the Dannistrians, and call upon our brothers to support us in our rightous crusade!"

The tape has been turned over to the Dannistrians, Free Pacificans, and Kelssekians for analysis, however, no response has yet been received in regards to the tape's authenticity or reliability.

FPS "Underdogs" Submit Forms for Entry into EPHC4

Team Emblem of FPS' First Ever East Pacific Hockey Championship Team

For three years, FPS has watched the EPHC from the sidelines, paying a little attention, but not enough to become jealous of those there. For three years, the Free Pacific Hockey League has avoided questions as to whether or not it would ever organize a team to go to the East Pacific Hockey Championship. For three years, hockey fans across FPS have waited.

Their time has come.

In a statement early yesterday morning, Tom Brilen of the FPHL declared happily that FPS would be sending a team to EPHC4 for the first time. As it ends out, over the past two months, the FPHL has been secretly putting together a team, not wishing to reveal this fact to the public as the FPHL was unsure whether or not they would be sucesfull in creating a team capable even of competing at the international level.

Quite apparently, they succeded. The team, which is to be headed by veteran coach Clinton Marlatt of Zalebano, is without doubt not the best to be going to the tournament. Most experts in the area of hockey have declared their experience level to be only 70% of that of next most inexperienced team (the Coocoostan "Fighting Ibix"). Even FPS hockey fans are having troubles believing the team to be capable of making it past the semi-finals.

The team, however, has taken the skepticism as to their ability to perform in stride, naming themselves "the underdogs." According to Marlatt: "when we were brainstorming team name ideas, Katie [Amar, goalie] brought up the idea as a joke. But everybody immediatly latched onto the idea, and the next thing we knew, it was our team name."

Regardless of how the team ends out doing, most FPSians are simply glad to finally have a team from their nation playing. When asked about whether or not he thought the team had any chance of victory, Marlatt stated that: "victory isn't what we're here for. We're here to try to better ourselves, and to represent FPS to the EP. Frankly, I wouldn't care if we lost every game, so long as everybody was doing their best out there."
