Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 O'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anaduhl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. The People's Assembly sat through a light session on saturday, passing legislation across party lines to construct skateboard parks in several cities and encouraging the use of helmets. The Assembly dismissed the issue of a beauty pageant to be held in the capital, as a feminist group had complained about the objectification of women the contest promoted. President Kaygorodov was in Ulgava today, meeting the city's mayor and many tribal leaders of the north-west. He pledged more government presence in the remote part of the country as well as military assistance to police in the area in combatting bandits and smuggling that have plagued the region. In Sport, the other six junior hockey teams began their seasons this evening: -In a doubleheader in the Capital at the Army Sports Palace, the PLAC(People's Liberation Army of Coocoostan) Under 17 team defeated HC Partisan 3-1 after a Partisan goal in the first 30 seconds of play. In the second game, the Under 15's were defeated 2-0 by the Panjuhr Hockey Academy, on goals at 0:03 and 0:17 of the third period. The 14 year old players that make up the team looked outmatched by the collection of the PHA's best students, with most of them playing their first game agaisnt opposition from outside PLAC's school. In Ulgava, it took double overtime, but the Warriors Juniors(The junior team of the BSC Warriors, owned by this network) defeated the Ulgava Wild Juniors 3-2. The PLAC U-20 team easily handled the Anadahl Skates 5-1 in a game played on thursday as part of the season's kickoff. All eight junior teams will enjoy a week off, until round 2 next Saturday, with the schedule, TBD. The senior teams will play their second games tomorrow: BSC Warriors @ Tre Kronor, Coocoobad Arena, 1200 HC Panjuhr @ Ulgava Wild, Ulgava Arena, 1500 Intel Coocoobad @ Panjur Elite, PHA Arena, 1500 PLAC @ Dragons HC, Coocoobad Arena, 1500 The weather for tomorrow(Celsius) Coocoobad, Snow -2/-14 Panjuhr, Overcast 1/-4 Ulgava, Freezing Rain -5/-17 Anadahl, Clear 4/-2 As usual, we end our brodcasting day with the national anthem, and a reminder that Upton Ishmail we be back with a re-broadcast of this program at 0530 sharp for all you military and civil service workers. Evening Sports fans, Son Uselman in the Press Box on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anaduhl, we’re also on Channel 4 Nationwide and various stations via the miracle of digital satellite television. So, this week in sports, we had Rounds Three and Four of CHL action as well as Round 2 in the CJHL, we’ll recap all those games for you . As well, the pro Volleyball season got underway this week with all the men’s and women’s teams in action, we’ll profile the only two relatives playing pro this year and recap Week 1 action. As well, we’ll give you the schedule for all the Hockey, Junior Hockey and Volleyball for the next week. Ok, so in the CHL this week, we had Tre Kronor taking on Intel Coocoobad The Swedes showed us they can still play, they won the first game 1-0 but Intel took the second 2-1 in OT, giving Kronor their first three points of the season. Here’s a shock, Tre Kronor, playing the trap. Swedes playing the trap, it’s crazy stuff I know. So, both teams get their first win of the season, although considering Intel was ranked 3rd coming into the season and are now in 7th I must say they have work to do. The BSC Warriors, you’re favourites and mine, not really, the network puts a lot of money into their pockets instead of mine. They were taking on HC Panjuhr, they played a good series, winning 5-1 and losing 1-0 in Triple OT. Panjuhr’s a bit dissapointing, but they should pick it up. PLAC Coocoobad, the Army pride and joy was up in Ulgava, playing the Wild. They lost the first game 3-2 before playing more like the team that gets their pick of players on Saturday, winning 3-0. They’re also in the middle of the pack. And the Panjuhr Elite were playing Dragons HC. Let me say this, the Dragons have long been the forgotten stepchild and it’s time to really support them. They draw lousy crowds, don’t get any support and yet they’re still holding their own against good teams. They lost 3-2 on Thursday, won 2-1 In Double OT. They’ve beaten PLAC already. Give them a hand. This week is rivalry week, being the third week of the season. Thursday, December 22, 2005(all games 1900) Intel Coocoobad @ PLAC Coocoobad, Army Sports Palace Panjuhr Elite @ HC Panjuhr, Panjuhr Ice Hall Tre Kronor @ Ulgava Wild, Ulgava Stadium Dragons HC @ BSC Warriors, Coocoobad Arena Saturday, December 24, 2005 PLAC Coocoobad @ Intel Coocoobad, Coocoobad Arena, 2000 HC Panjuhr @ Panjuhr Elite, PHA Arena, 1900 Ulgava Wild @ Tre Kronor, Coocoobad Arena, 1600 BSC Warriors @ Dragons HC, Coocoobad Arena, 1200 Yes, before you ask, tickets still left to all games, including a 3 for 2 package at Coocoobad Arena on Saturday. So the Juniors were in action on Friday night, Warriors Juniors beat PLAC U-15 5-4 in OT, Partisan upset PLAC U-17 2-1, also OT. The PLAC U-20 team lost to the Panjuhr Hockey Academy 1-0 in OT in what was arguably the marquee game this week. The game I went to, in Anadahl was good too, they had a sellout, 750, for the first home game of the new team, the Anadahl Skates. They went down to the Wild Junior team 3-0 after 2 but J.P. Puhdahl scored two quick ones to make it 3-2. They could have filled that place 3 times over and are going to add seats at the end of the season. So, Volleyball also started this week, all four series ended up as sweeps. For the men, the University of Coocoobad swept the PLAC team 15-11 all three days. The Ulgava wave swept the Panjuhr Falcons 15-8,15-11,15-11. The women played some good games, PLAC over U of C 15-12, 15-8, 15-8 and Panjuhr sweeping Ulgava 15-10 all three days. Hopefully the competition will pick up next week. Men’s U of C Warriors @ Panjuhr Falcons, Panjuhr Arena Monday- 1900 Tuesday- 1900 Wednesday- 1200 Ulgava Wave @ PLAC Coocoobad, War Memorial Gymnasium Monday- 1900 Tuesday- 1900 Wednesday- 1200 Women’s Panjuhr Falcons @ U of C Warriors, U of C Fieldhouse Monday- 1900 Tuesday- 1900 Wednesday- 1200 PLAC Coocoobad @ Ulgava Wave, Ulgava Stadium Monday- 1900 Tuesday- 1900 Wednesday- 1200 Well, that should be enough to hold you for another week. This is Son Uselman, reminding you to support your local teams and tune in again, same time and station, for a recap of this week’s action. |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 O'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anaduhl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. National 5 members of Coocoostan's military were killed today in an apparent terrorist attack on an army base near Sammikalad. The base was largely empty, as it's garrison was away for annual leave. The killed are 1 Officer, 2 Enlisted, 1 Reserve and 1 Air Force. All 13 attackers were shot dead. The casualties could have been even higher, but the three men at the south gate who survived were saved when the gate sentry shot a man driving a car bomb before it detonated. As well, an Army helicopter was in the area within 10 minutes. Politics The People's assembly sat through much legislation on Sunday, passing laws to step up penalties for Indecent Exposure, Instituting mandatory miniature radios to carry warning messages and appointing Bill Hasegawa to the Supreme court. President Kaygorodov also announced his democratic reform program, which would scrap the people's assembly and replace it with the "Parliamentary Congress", which would be housed in a new building in Coocoobad. The assembly would have 32 Parliamentary Congressmen as well as eight cabinet posts, which would be open to appointment by the party leader with a majority of the 32 congressmen. They would be: Defence,Interior,Labour,Health,Justice,Foreign Affairs,Finance and Transportation. As well, The Prime Minister would be elected to serve as the head of the Parliamentary Congress, with the President also being elected and having a seats. All 42 of these people would have a vote, with the exception of the President, who while being able to speak, would be unable to vote. The President also annouced this new system would be in place for the election a week today. Many leaders were angered at the sudden change. Nominations for the four major parties candidates begin tomorrow. As usual, we end our brodcasting day with the national anthem, and a reminder that Upton Ishmail we be back with a re-broadcast of this program at 0530 sharp for all you military and civil service workers. This is Salman Adhakov, A good evening to you. http://www.iet.ntnu.no/~makarov/temporary_...le-instr-cs.mp3 |

Good Evening, this is Upton Ishmail with the morning news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anaduhl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. The People's Assembly passed legislation last night to allow for 6 months paid maternity leave, with lost revenue being reimbursed by the state. More importantly however, the election is well underway, with candidates for all 32 Parilamentary Congress seats, as well as 8 Cabinet posts and the offices of Primeminister and President. The parties finalized their presidential candidates yesterday. They include incumbent Maxim Kaygorodov of the National Party, Madeline Tang of the Heritage Party, Tammy Hagans for Labour, Ada Fielder will run for the Green Party and the Independence Party's candidate is Veronica Blakely. Only the three major parties, National, Heritage and Labour are running Candidates for Prime Minister, as well as Secretary of Defence, Labour, Interior, Justice and Foreign Affairs. The Green Party complements these three with their own candidates for Health and Finance and the Independence party and Independent candidate Mildred Aviles are running for the seemingly unimportant Transportation Secretariat. In congress, all 32 districts have from three to six candidates, with the major parties running in all three. The overwhelming trend has the large groups of Immigrants from Australia/New Zealand as well as Hong Kong running for most positions, as well as immigrants from Macau. The exodus of Kaygorodov's old support base is evident, as he is the only Central Asian running. The parties plan to release their platforms in eight key areas this evening. They will be rebutted on Friday in the only debate of the campaign in Coocoobad, before balloting on Sunday. Be sure to stay tuned to BSC, for exciting volleyball action at 4 and 7 PM, with games depending on region. The News will follow with Salman Adhakov. |

She rode this wave of popularity into the people’s assembly, where she served as the Green whip from 2000-2004, when she quit to run for the Green leadership, which she won narrowly with 48% of the vote. This is the first time the Greens have run a candidate for president. Finance -Not allow income tax as a mitigating factor in doing what is right for the people. Good evening all, this is Salman Adhakov on BSC television and Radio nationwide and on Coocoostan Talk Radio and Coocoostan Television Network. I’m sure you were quite unaware, but tonight is the lone presidential debate before voting takes place tomorrow, with all five candidates in attendance. Quickly, they are, in descending order, the President, Maxim Kaygorodov, Madeline Tang of the Heritage party, Tammy Hagans of Labour Party, Ada Fielder is the Green candidate and Veronica Blakely is the Independence party candidate. Good evening to all of you. The debate format is as follows and hardly resembles a date more than a public rebuttal. We have divided the issues into the eight cabinet categories and each candidate has been allowed to speak on three. Once they have spoken three times, they will be cut off. They have all preselected their issues and these choices are not known to the other candidates. They are allowed to rebut what the other candidates have said previously, including in the debate. We will begin now. Firstly, Labour. Not surprisingly, Ms. Hagans of the Labour Party will speak. Hagans: Thank You Salman. For too long in our nation, workers have been ignored by the government, for our nation to succeed, the needs of the workers must come first. My government will pledge to reinforce worker’s rights by protecting them at work and giving them the protections they need at home, in the form of a well-funded social net. Thank you, now Mr. President wishes to speak on Labour as well. Kaygorodov: Thank you Salman, but please, Mr. Kaygorodov for tonight, it is only fair. Worker’s rights is a staple of my platform and I too like Ms. Hagans believe in worker’s rights. However, Ms. Hagans is willing to have a 100% income tax rate to have this occur while I am not. I will balance the protection of workers with fiscal responsibility, this is why I pledge to reduce your taxes below 55% in two years, while maintaining the services you need. Thank you…Mr. Kaygorodov. Now on to the next Issue, Transportation. The only candidate who will speak on the issue. Madeline Tang of the Heritage Party. Tang: Thank you. Over the past year, over 1,000 Coocoostanis have lost their lives on our Highways and Freeways. This is why I will propose creating a highway patrol wing of the CNP, specifically dedicated to policing our roads and keeping speeding, drunk and stoned drivers off our roads. We predict we can do this without raising the income tax rate. Ok, that was that. Here’s a more lively issue. That of Justice. Since she hasn’t spoken yet, Ms. Blakely, why don’t you go first? Blakely: Thank you Salman. As all are aware, Crime in our nation is well under control, thanks largely to the quality of the CNP and owing very little to the National Party’s funding cuts. Crime was very well controlled until the recent policy of apathy towards fighting in the streets, which will certainly only lead to more crime. Another National party failure. The Independence party stands firm on crime. This is why we support, more search power to police officers, corporal punishment for all drug possession over 500 grams and capital punishment for Murder, Rape and Kidnapping. Thank you, now Ms. Fielder, you haven spoken either, please go ahead. Fielder: Thank you very much Salman. Ms. Blakely, has just done me a favour by outlining the opposite of my Justice policy. Instead of a totalitarian police-state approach, I will reduce the power of police to search randomly to protect civil liberties as well as legalize all recreational drugs, as it is none of the state’s business. Then the police can deter heinous crimes such as murder without having to execute the convicted. Thank you, Ms. Hagans, you go last. Hagans: Thank you. While both candidates have very interesting views on Justice, it is the Labour party that will keep our nation safe. We propose legalising Cannabis only, while keeping hard drugs that hurt our families illegal. This will allow the CNP, who are adequately funded and as a result do an excellent job, to focus on combatting organized crime, which this government only did after they attemped to open casinos. How can you trust a president who had a known Mob boss in his office, offering him money under the table? Thank you all, that concludes the third issue, Justice. Now for the fourth. Which will be Foreign Affairs. Mr. Kaygorodov, please go first. Kaygorodov: Thank you. Over the last several weeks, Coocoostan has begun a policy of endorsing nations that share our values. In return, we ourselves have received two. This enhances our influence at the UN, which makes the world aware of our values. Only the National party can be trusted to endorse correctly. Thank you, Ms. Blakely will also speak. Blakely: Thank you Salman. Over the last several weeks, Coocoostan has begun a policy of selling itself out to other nations. The UN has clearly, a terminal case of League of Nations syndrome. Only UN withdrawal can protect Coocoostan from the status of International Pariah. To ensure the citizenry is in favour, a referendum will be held after 1 year. If the citizenry approves, Coocoostan will be out of the UN permanantly, this can be done without an act of the parliamentary congress, it can be done by executive order. Coocoostan must no longer be weighed down by the UN. Thank you both, now for Defence. Mrs. Tang, please go first. Tang: Thank you Salman. Last week, an Army Post was attacked by Islamic Radicals. 5 of our PLAC troops lost their lives. This was partly due to incompetent leadership and partly because of antiquated equipment. The attackers were better armed than our own troops. That is why we propose a total re-evaluation of PLAC from top to bottom. We will replace 75% of military equipment and facilities within 5 years, to counteract the decay allowed by the national party. The head of our military, Marshal Wally Ushtal is seventy-nine years old, the same man in charge of the defence of Coocoostan since the days of Soviet rule and blatantly incompetent. He will be fired in my first executive order, should I be elected. A retirement age of sixty will prevent any recurrences. We will also weed out younger incompetent leaders among officers and NCOs by conducting annual performance reviews. Our military needs help, which only our party can provide. Thank you, Mrs. Tang. Ms. Fielder, please go ahead. Fielder: Thank you Salman. Defence has become a low priority in our nation, as a result of our democratization. The PLAC is a bloated, wasteful mess. If elected, I will disband it, replacing it with a national guard which would be capped at 10,000 people and be composed of roughly 75% reserves. Coocoostan is no longer aligned against the west or east and has nothing to worry about. With a smaller military, money will be saved, while security is maintained. Thank you, Ms. Fielder, Ms. Blakely also wishes to speak on Defence. Blakely: Thank you. I feel defence is THE most important issue of the campaign. Unfortunately, three of my opponents do not. Ms. Fielder, do you watch the news? Do you read the paper? Our nation is under threat from within. I would also disband PLAC, to replace it with a better military. All current members must re-apply and will be evaluated on performance. I will buy new patrol boats, new armoured vehicles and actual planes for our air force. Our equipment is of 1970s vintage and must be replaced. Mrs. Tang, your party does not go far enough. I will raise defence spending to 50% of total. With your vote, together, you and I can rebuild our armed forces to the level that a nation such as Coocoostan deserves. Ok. That was Defence. Ms. Blakely, you are finished speaking, but please stay until the end. Now, the Interior. Mr. Kaygorodov, your final comments please. Kaygorodov: Thank you Salman. For too long, ethnic Coocoos like myself, who raised our land up from the ground, who endured Soviet oppression and Japanese attack, are suddenly meaning less and less. I will counter this by instituting a minimum on Coocoo candidates per party, to ensure that we still have a voice. I am the only Coocoo running in the election for any position. While all are welcome in our nation, should that not include the Coocoo as well? That is why I will stand for our rights, as equals to all men. I will preserve our national flag, the last shred of Coocoo identity left. Thank you. Mr. Kaygorodov, you are finished. Ms. Tang? Tang: Thank you. While I feel for the decreasing Coocoo minority, no group is given preferential treatment in our society, this should stay in place. This nation is a mosiac now, of Australians, New Zealanders, Macauns and Hong Kongers like myself, among Coocoos and other Asian and Slavic groups. We must have a new flag. We must have a new national anthem, to replace Internatzionale. When we do this, Coocoostan will become a respected member of the community internationally. Thank you, that is three for you as well. Now then. The final issue is health, which is to say that Finance will not be discussed, if it wasn’t already in other topics. Ms Hagans, you are first. Hagans: Thank you. Simply put, I will retain public health-care and guarantee access to that system for all. More money must be spent on that system. I will do this by cutting other areas, like Defence as well as streamlining government. Thank you Ms. Hagans, our final speker, Ms. Fielder, on health. Fielder: My party stands behind Ms. Hagans’ remarks, but we will take it one step further and support a state-sponsored vetrinary care system, to care for the pets of our families. Only when we take care of animals, unable to take care of themselves, can we truly become a civilised nation. That concludes the debate. Thank you all so much for coming here tonight. This marks, by law, the official end of the campaign. There will be no election advertising on TV or Radio and no public appearances by the Candidates until polls close tomorrow at 2000. Results should be available shortly after. BSC radio and television will cover the event, myself with Upton Ishmail and our correspondents around the county. CTN will also cover the event, as will CTR. Our network will still have news at 11, which will recap this debate with our analysts. This is Salman Adhakov, until this evening, take care. |

Good evening, this is Salman Adhakov, nationwide on BSC radio and television. We hoped you enjoyed Thursday Night Hockey, as the CJHL games tomorrow will not be televised, as they will be pre-empted by election coverage. This is the eleven o’clock news, with tonight’s major story, the presidential debate. Joining me are our two excellent analysts. Our left-leaning Glen Ryda, and Herman Caffey, a former MPA of the Heritage Party. Good evening both. Firstly, Glen, who do you think won and lost tonight? Ryda: Well Salman, the winner I thought was not clear. I thought Hagans, Tang and Blakely all won themselves and their cohorts a few votes tonight. I also think Kaygorodov held the fort, while not picking up much from undecideds, except for his remarks about the Coocoo population and I though Ada Fielder looked very mousy. She only really compared her policies to those of the others. Herman, how about you? Caffey: Salman, Blakely split the right tonight, plain and simple. You may not agree with her, especially on capital and corporal punishment, but you got a feeling tonight that she’s the right candidate for defence. I’d still endorse Tang, but I was listening to CTR about an hour ago and Shawn Candidly endorsed Blakely, after talking since August about how Tang was going to ascend to the presidency. I think she won a lot of support. I also think Kaygorodov held his position, Hagans won a few votes from the centre and far left and Fielder did do terrible Glen, I agree. You alluded to your answer already Herman, but what do you think it will do for tomorrow’s results? Caffey: Honestly, I have no idea. Polls have been so unreliable that no network has used them, save for CTR. We’ll know about ten tomorrow night. Ryda: Agreed, but Shawn Candidly? I suppose he was beating up on his straw man, Alan Holmes? Caffey: He sure was. Thank you both gentlemen. A reminder, that our election coverage will take up the entirety of tomorrow, with breaks for other news at 15 minutes to every hour. We come on air at 0530 and the first news is at 0545. Please, especially to younger citizens, go and vote. In this part of the world, we have not always had such rights. This is Salman Adhakov, a good evening to you. http://www.iet.ntnu.no/~makarov/temporary_...le-instr-cs.mp3 |

....and now we go to Greg Crozier, our reporter in the legislative district of Coocoobad this evening. Good evening Salman. I'm in front of #1 Avenue of Heroes, which up until tonight doubled as the presidential residence and People's Assembly. That body sat here for the last time yesterday, with most of the 2,500 MPAs set to retire. Their last law passed? A bill defending the right to fillibuster, which should make things even more interesting... *Turns around* ...In this building, the new capitol, which will be home to the 15th Parliamentary Congress. Inside you'll find not only the actual congress hall, but as well, a large room to be used for functions, a library of the people's congress, more information stored on several dozen mainframes and a computer room on the ground floor to access them. It's a truly marvelous structure. But tonight, just minutes ago, for possibly the last time, the only president many residents have ever known, Maxim Kaygorodov pulled up to #1 avenue of heroes in his Gaz limousine. He was accompanied by his wife Retta and was returning from going out to vote. He was saluted by the police guards on the way in and while the police uniforms, cars and circumstances have changed, the president himself has remained constant, only aging. Tonight though, his dynasty may have come to an end. Back to you Salman. Greg Crozier in Coocoobad tonight, thank you. It's now 42 minutes until the polls close and still no idea what will come of this, the first election since democratic reform was initiated, to promote opposition. We'll be back shortly. |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 O'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anaduhl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. Tammy Hagans of the Labour Party has been elected president. She defeated her closest opponent, Veronica Blakely, by 7 percent, but that lead expanded to 25 when all uncast votes were assigned to her, as per Coocoo law. The standings were: Hagans, Tammy-LAB 48% Blakely, Veronica-IDP 23% Kaygorodov, Maxim-NTL 15% Tang, Madeline-HTG 11% Fielder, Ada-GRN 3% In cabinet, 5 posts, Interior, Justice, Finance, Defence, Interior and Health were won by the National party, 3 of those by less than 5 percent over the Heritage candidate. The Heritage party did win the other three posts, Foreign Affairs, Transportation and Labour. All cabinet ministers are awarded two votes in the Parliamentary Congress, as per law. The Prime minister’s chair was won by 82 year old Christina Coward, who narrowly defeated Karla Dreyer of the Heritage party: Coward, Christina-NTL 49% Dreyer, Karla-HTG 45% Lueck, Lori-LAB-6% In the Parliamentary Congress itself, the Labour and National parties both won nine seats. Heritage won 8, Green 4 and the Independence Party won 1, with Lawrence Bloom, a centre-right independent candidate, winning the 2nd district of Ulgava to become the first independent directly elected in the history of Coocoo democracy. The voting system is the most unique part of the new Coocoo system, the legacy of outgoing president Kaygorodov. The 32 Parliamentary Congress members will have one, the 8 Cabinet ministers will have 2 and the President and Prime Minister will both have 4. The total number of votes then is 56. The total votes by party: National-23 Heritage-14 Labour-13 Green-4 Independence-1 Independent-1 What do these results mean? Here again, our analysts, Glen Ryda and Herman Caffey. Ryda: These results mean that the National/Labour coalition will be able to govern relatively well. Their platforms do have issues, but the fact that both parties won one of the executive positions will help them reconcile. Caffey: Don’t totally discount the right however, they still have 16 votes and a good chunk of cabinet. Quickly, I expect the Green and National parties for sure and the Heritage party in all likelihood to have leadership conventions in the next six months. National may bring down the government if they find a leader they like. As of right now however, the elderly Christina Coward will act as interim leader, so I’m told. Ryda: That’s true Herman, the governing coalition will have 36 votes, the rightists will have 16 and wether the greens will play a role in the government or not remains to be seen, but I expect them to be left on the sidelines as they are too far left. Thank you both. Also in election news, Elections Coocoostan has been heavily criticized for the conduct of the election, in particular, the order in which results were released and how results from two ridings were initially forgotten about. The new president announced that that body would be replaced in her government. Elections Coocoostan is also in the news because of an investigation it has launched into violations of advertising rules. At approximately midnight last night, an Independence party ad was launched on CTN, featuring several photographs of their Presidential Candidate, Veronica Blakely. The ad was then followed by “People of our times”, which featured the third part of a series of shows about Ms. Blakely. The particular episode covered the incident where accused-smugglers were not charged after Blakely’s patrol boat had captured them transferring cocaine, as well as her talk-radio career and founding role in the Independence Party. The show began airing last week and before the three part series on Blakely, had shown only biographies of Network Personalities. The show is not scheduled to air again. If it is proven the ad was aired on party orders and if it is proven the show is a cover for an election ad, the network and party would be subject to lawsuits from Elections Coocoostan. In Junior Hockey this evening, the U-15s defeated HC Partisan, 4-1, Anadahl was shut out by the U-17s 2-0, the BSC Warriors juniors won over U-20s 5-3 and improve to 3-0 and The Panjuhr Hockey Academy defeated Wild U-20s 4-1 to also improve to 3-0. The two teams will likely face off next week.

Good evening, this is Salman Adhakov with a preview of tonight’s news. A celebration in the Capital today, as Tammy Hagans was sworn in as the second president of Coocoostan. Her Prime Minister, Christina Coward, as well as the eight cabinet ministers and thirty-two parliamentary congressmen were sworn in. The parliamentary congress tackled one of the toughest issues in it’s first sitting, the issue of Defence spending. The Parliament heard reports from the heads of the three elements within the People’s Liberation Army of Coocoostan(PLAC), as well as from the ex-defence minister and two from private citizens. Because the Parliament’s subcommittee on Defence has not yet been selected, the Secretary of Defence was allowed to speak directly. He recommended increasing funding to the Army element of PLAC, citing the recent bandit attack in the Northwest. The president respectfully denied the recommendation and argued that the security of the Nation could be guaranteed by an external nation. When pressed for details the president provided none. Debate continued in such a way, with the Green party arguing to stop military funding completely and ultra-conservative Independent Lawrence Bloom arguing for universal conscription. During the recess, the Nationals forged a one-off alliance with the Heritage party and returned to the house and passed a resolution approving increased funding to the army. The vote was along party lines with the 39 in favour coming from the National, Heritage, Independence and Independent members with the 17 against being from the Green party and Labour, including the President. The house will sit again this afternoon, with the Labour/National coalition being very much in doubt. President Hagans has promised to begin with negotiations with the “Regional Power” on a mutual aid treaty and has ordered the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Jonathan Tribble, to leave on Monday. Also in politics today, Green party leader Ada Fielder has announced she will stay on as party leader and face a leadership convention, tentatively scheduled for March. With Fielder receiving a paltry 3% of the votes for President, opposition is expected to be heavy, with a schism within the party possible. Madeline Tang, leader of the Heritage party has announced her intention to stay on as leader, pending a review at the end of this month. Tang received 11% of the votes in the Presidential election and is also expected to be heavily resisted. Former President Maxim Kaygorodov confirmed in a statement that he will step down as National Party leader and file for divorce from his wife Retta as well, citing infidelity. It is rumoured that she had an affair with an unnamed advisor to the president. Kaygorodov also says he will not file charges, as he is able to under adultery laws that he passed in his final months in office. Independence Party Leader Veronica Blakely stated publicly today that it was her intention to split the right-wing vote, to prove that the Heritage party was not conservative enough for the average voter. She refused to comment on the investigation of her party by Elections Coocoostan. 4 games in the CHL tonight, all televised on this station: PLAC @ Panjuhr Elite(For viewers Nationwide,2000) Tre Kronor @ HC Panjuhr(Panjuhr region, 2000) Ulgava Wild @ Dragons HC (Ulgava region, 2000) Intel @ BSC(Full network, joined in progress, 2100) This is Salman Adhakov, now over to Son Uselman, for the pre-game show for CHL on BSC. Son? Thanks, Salman, our feature match is a recently surging PLAC side against a highly disciplined Panjuhr Elite, currently tied for first place. PLAC won the opener on Thursday 2-0 and we expect a tighter game tonight, because of the referees being instructed to begin calling more penalties. |

Good evening, this is Salman Adhakov with a preview of the 11 o'clock news in two hours time. The Parliamentary congress sat until 10 last night and until 9 today, debating three bills. The Labour/National coalition worked with the Green party to pass a bill monetarily compensating blood donations. Today, the congress dimissed a bill regarding the fighting water-gnat population 54-2. As well, the National/Labour coalition came through on increasing police funding, while the Green Party argued for an abolition of the police and Rightist coalition argued for more police funding, with Ultra-Conservative Lawrence Bloom arguing for the authority to conduct summary executions. As well, the Foreign Affairs committee approved Hector Severance as UN Ambassador and Maurice Maza as his deputy. Also, the village of Ashambad has been incorporated as a town, as of the new year. The village, in the Northwest, is hoping it's incorporation will force the government to take a larger role in it's defence. In CHL action last night: PLAC 2, PEL 1(OT) TRE 3, PAN 2 DHC 3, ULG 2(OT) INT 1, BSC 0 Also in sport, training camps for the upcoming Football and Basketball seasons have begun across the nation. Staying in Sport, a consortium of western businessmen are attempting to set up a 10 team American Football league, to begin an 18 week season in April. All that and more, coming up at 11. |

The Parliamentary congress passed legislation today banning unrequested solicitations, the vote was nearly unanimous for the first time in the assembly's short history, but Ultra-Conservative Lawrence Bloom again voted against the government. Also, an effort to recall Mr. Bloom has begun in his home district of 2nd Ulgava. He received 47 percent of the vote in the election last week. When contacted by BSC, ex-president Kaygorodov said that the Democratic Reform Act was to have contained a clause allowing for a minimum of 6 months before a recall could be initiated. Only 10,000 verified signatures are required to force a runoff election. Only PCs are subject to recall. The new Sub-comittees of the congress also passed amendments changing among other things, the national flag and animal. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. The heritage Party leadership campaign began today, with current Leader Madeline Tang annoucing she will stand to be re-elected and Prime Ministerial candidate Karla Dreyer announcing she would run as well. Dreyer lost the Prime Minister's chair by only 3 percent and her candidacy is considered very strong. The nominations will close on January 13th, with the convention on January 28th. The Interior comittee in conjunction with the defence comittee announced today that the Army sports schools will be transferred to their respective governing bodies. The army will be allowed only to field teams from their academy. The comittee also annouced that Coocoostan's national teams will now be nicknamed the Fighting Ibix. Staying in sport, the Coocoostan Hockey League has announced the moving of two teams. Tre Kronor, the team of Swedish ex-patriates will be sold to a new ownership group and moved to a 4,500 seat arena to be constructed in South Coocoobad. The team will be known as Coocoobad Rams HC. Also, another of the teams based at Coocoobad arena will move, Dragons HC will move to Anadahl, which will expand their capacity to 1,500, until a new arena can be built. CHL officials cite the sellout of the Anadahl Skates JHC as their reason for the move. Officials are unsure about the future of PLAC Coocoobad The CJHL also announced it's plans regarding the future of the three PLAC junior teams. They have decided that the one remaining PLAC team will be a U-20 side, with the U-17s moving to Wajax and the U-15s being up for bid. The CJHL plans to convert all three teams to U-20. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. An ambulance of the National Ambulance Service was struck by a bullet today in Summikalad, while driving past the army base there. The base commander, Colonel Pavel Karpov said the bullet was beleived to have been from a sniper, from the same group that attacked the post over the December holiday, killing 5. The CNP will investigate. Staying with the police, the Coocoostan National Police's new highway patrol as well as the new Coocoobad Police Department took to the streets today. The Highway patrol had to deal with an accident on the A4, approximately 75 kilometres northeast of Ulgava that killed three people and involved 7 vehicles. They now state that an erratic driver was to blame. In Coocoobad, one person was injured in a gang related shooting in the city's north end. The CPD says that rival triads arrived at the Flaming Wheels Motorcycle Club and opened fire through the windows. Police received a vandalism complaint from the Golden Dragon Restaurant no more than an hour later. CPD officials are cautioning Gangs from re-starting hostilities similar to the gang war in 1997 that left over two dozen people dead. Elections Coocoostan has filed formal complaints against the Cooocoostan Television Network(CTN) and Independence party(IDP), citing two violations of election law. CTN aired an IDP ad within the blackout period in between the Debate and Election. As well, they aired a biographical program citing the government service of Party Leader Veronica Blakely, which EC called "An insult to electoral laws and an obvious plug." The Justice Department will annouce wether the complaint will be actioned upon in a few days. Millionaire Banker Konrad Schultz is back in the limelight, the head of Schultz Credit Union, Coocoostan's largest Bank, announced his candidacy for the Heritage party leadership today. He says he would move the party to the right. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. President Tammy Hagans is under fire today after a leaked document showed that the reason Foreign Secretary Johnathan Tribble refused to travel to Kelssek is because the president wanted to negociate a mutual defence treaty with them, with the Kelssekians taking the majority of responsibility. The Independence and National parties found an unlikely ally in the Greens in criticizing the possibility of another country having so much control over the defence of the nation. However, it was the nationals and defence Secretary Phillip Arnold who scored the heaviest blows when he reminded the parliamentary congress of the facts that Kelssek has overwhelmingly passed a neutrality law in referendum and that the Kelssekian Prime Minister, Alan Kerk has publicly called for that nation to disarm. The President only sat down breifly at her daily news conference and did not answer questions. Marshal Wally Ushtal, the beleaguered head of PLAC announced today his retirement, after well over 50 years in both the Soviet and Coocoostani armies. His preferred replacement is General Lee Murphy, a 59 year old Australian-immigrant who had served in that nation's army as a Sergeant, before coming to Coocoostan. The parliamentary congress went through a three bill sitting today, opting to outlaw torture, take government control over so-called designer babies to screen out only those with serious disabilities and opting to allow private enterprise to mine a gold deposit found at the bottom of Lake Kali. Outside Congress, a demonstration against the proposed defence treaty escalated to the point where the Parliamentary Garrison was called in from their nearby base, approximately 5 minutes away. The demonstration had an anti-Kelssek aura in general, as well as an anti-packilvanian overtone. The protestors called on the government not to normalize relations with outside government, particularly the region's superpowers. In Summikalad, the CNP say now that the bullet that struck an ambulance near the Army post there came from the base's range. They have recommended several of the base personnel for charges under the PLAC Act. In sport, PLAC Coocoobad will play in the CHL next year, as well as the Premier League Football season, set to begin in one month. The basketball franchise however, will be sold into private ownership. This comes after the Interior Subcommittee ordered PLAC to cut it's spending on sports teams by 66% in the next year. The Hockey and Football teams will be the only two in operation, with the Volleyball teams set to be taken over by the Coocoostan Volleyball Federation. As usual, we end our brodcasting day with the national anthem, and a reminder that Upton Ishmail we be back with a re-broadcast of this program at 0530 sharp for all you military and civil service workers. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. PLAC Troops have begun a border security exercise along the Kelssekian border, to simulate having to seal the land border to keep a mass exodus of Kelssekians from bringing a "unspecified illness" to Coocoostan. All Kelssekians are currently banned from entering Coocoostan, save for emergencies. The government is considering adding other nations to the list, as evidence warrants. Approximately 10,000 troops from the land and air wings of PLAC are participating. PLAC is also in the news because of it's new commander, Colonel-General Lee Murphy, who will be promoted to Marshal tomorrow, by president Tammy Hagans at the Capitol. General Murphy has been in PLAC for 15 years and was in the Australian army as an NCO for 12 years before that. He has promised full accountability for all his troops. Hockey prospect Mike Hawthorne was arrested by Coocoobad City Police in North Coocoobad and charged with public drunkeness. Hawthorne, 17, has become the object of much contreversy as of late as he has refused to continue playing for HC Partisan after he was suspended for fighting with a teammate during practice. He is currently battling for the #1 spot in the draft rankings with Anadahl Skates JHC Forward J.P. Pudahl. The CCP and HC Partisan have both refused comment. Colonel Roger Karpov, the base commander of Summikalad Reserve Training Centre has been charged with criminal negligence as a result of an incident where an ambulance passing the base was struck by a stray bullet from a the base's firing range. Also charged was Senior Sergeant Argyle Johnson, the Range Safety Officer. Karpov refused comment but Johnson blamed the charges on the Labour government, before his lawyer prevented him from commenting further. The Coocoostan Department of Foreign Affairs is nearly finished it's travel warnings for the four states surrounding the nation. Residents will be advised against travel to Darrowmere or Packilvania and will be advised to take precautions when travelling to Kelssek and the ICCD. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. A wild day at the capitol today saw legislation passed against the wishes of President Hagans and her Labour party restricting protestors to a limited area, after a Coocoobad Police Officer was put into hospital after being beaten by an angry mob outside the capitol yesterday. But the action outside the chamber was truly worth noting. When in her daily scrum, the president was asked about the closing of borders to Kelssekian citizens, effective immediately, by our Alisa Macaulay. Macaulay: Ms. President, what is your reasoning behind disallowing Kelssekian citizens entry to the country at the International Airport and is this an escalation of the exercising of PLAC troops on the border? Furthermore, what is your reaction to Prime Minister Kerk's statement that the closures are "an appaling overreaction"? Hagans: I'm sorry, I'm not aware of any such ban, or exercise. Excuse me. At that point, President Hagans walked to her office, having a somewhat lively discussion with her advisors. In the meantime, the head of Coocoostan's Border Guards Major General Ratsko Ibrahimovic, held a news conference of his own at the Coocoobad International Airport. "These measures are designed to protect the Coocoostani from the disease carried by the Kelssekians and so far they have done just that. Notice how not one case has been reported in our nation since these measures were implemented? In fact, the measures are so effective, that I implemented earlier this morning, similar conditions on visitors from Infinite Loop, East Malaysia and the FPS. As well, Dannistan appears to be on the brink of outbreak so we are ready to cut them off as well at a moment's notice." Back at the capitol, President Hagans held a news conference with the new Commander in Cheif of the PLAC, Marshal Lee Murphy. She announced publicly that General Ibrahimovic had implemented the border controls without her permission and as a result was being removed from his position. As well, she announced the standing down of both the regulations and the border defence exercise, which Marshal Murphy said was implemented by his predecessor as "A final parting shot against the government which finally held him accountable for his incompetence." News broke several hours later that Border Guards had walked off the job at all border crossings, leaving vehicle traffic from the ICCD flowing freely into the country. President Hagans immediately held another conference. "...that is why I am announcing the termination of the positions of all border guards, immediately and that PLAC reserve units will be mobilized to make up the shortfall, while a new agency is created." So tonight, for the first time since the days of the Soviet Union, soldiers guard our borders. A deviation from the normal program tonight. Effective immediately, the national anthem will no longer be played at the conclusion of our programming day. A reminder that Upton Ishmail we be back with a re-broadcast of this program at 0530 sharp for all you military and civil service workers. This is Salman Adhakov, A good evening to you. |

Good morning, this is Upton Ishmail with BSC morning news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. President Tammy Hagans today held a news conference re-interating that Coocoostan's border restrictions have been lifted and were never actually authorized by her. She also reminded the public that she fired ex Major-General Ratsko Ibrahimovic, almost immediately after it was clear that the border guard commander had made the changes without her authorization. This comes after state-run media in Kelssek continue to report falsely about the restrictions, which have seen traffic at Coocoobad International airport from the Kelssek capital of Neorvins drop off drastically. However, some people, unaware of the contreversy, continue to travel to Coocoostan. Coocoobad continues to be rocked by gang violence, with it's first three murders of the year. They occurred at the notorious Flaming Wheels Motorcycle Club, home of the Troublemakers motorcycle gang. Workers at a nearby auto dealership saw a man described as asian running from the scene with an assault rifle. Police then executed a search warrant at the Golden Dragon Restaurant with the Coocoobad City Police's(CCP) Emergency Task Force(ETF) raiding the building. A man fired several shots out a window at patrol officers and was eventually shot and killed by ETF officers after he pointed a rifle at them. Another man was arrested by later released without charge. No police were injured, although a patrol car was damaged to the point where it had to be towed when it hit a lightpost rushing to the scene. Also at the airport today, a C-160 transport aicraft of the PLAC drifted off a taxiway and into the salt lake surrounding the airport. The pilot ejected safely and was recovered. Witnesses state that the pilot was flying erratically while attempted to pass a safety test. The plane had just made a hard landing without permission when the accident occurred. The pilot's name was not released, but an anonymous source within PLAC identified him as Major Andrew Sundskvall, a 15-year veteran of PLAC's air command. The source also said an investigation was ongoing. Marshal Lee Murphy, commander in cheif of the People's Liberation Army of Coocoostan(PLAC) announced today, the restructuring of that organization into the Coocoostan Military(CM), he expects the transition to be completed within one month. He also annouced the procurement of 20 NH-90 Helicopters to replace the UH-1s currently in use and the Mig-31 interceptor to fill an empty space in PLAC's order of battle. 55 of the fighters will be acquired, with the majority based along the borders with Packilvania and Darrowmere. When asked why Kelssek is not seen as a threat by PLAC, Marshal Murphy replied "Because they aren't a threat, it's that simple. They only became upset with our nation when border restrictions were announced that were not approved." The Marshal also refused to rule out the acquisition of a navy for Coocoostan, which would require either use of a foreign base, or the acquisition of vacant territory. In sport, the CHL hit the ice after a two-week break with the BSC Warriors defeating PLAC Coocoobad 2-0 on a late third period goal, with an empty net to ice the game. Other scores: Panjuhr Elite 3, Tre Kronor 1 Dragons HC 3 ,Panjuhr HC 2 Intel Coocoobad 1, Ulgava Wild 5 Also, the Coocoobad Rams HC, which will take Tre Kronor's spot in the league next year, say they will use foreign players if possible. The teams GM, Marco Drax, said that players from Kelssek and Krezchainko, among other places, will be encouraged to sign contracts before the beginning of the next season, in late August. The CJHL will play tonight: PLAC U-20 @ HC Partisan Warriors Juniors @ PLAC U-17 PLAC U-15 @ Wild U-20 Panjuhr Hockey Academy @ Anadahl Skates JHC HC Partisan defenceman Mike Hawthorne will play despite holding out for the last game against PLAC U-15 as well as being arrested on public drunkeness charges earlier this week. Hawthorne is the #2 prospect in the Coocoostan Scouting Bureau's rankings, due largely to his attitude. He said in a news conference that he hopes to be drafted into the KHL and would choose to return to the CJHL than play professionally in his homeland. Hawthorne says that he would tour the nation, should a Coocoo national team be allowed to play in the near future. Also in junior, the rights to the PLAC U-15 franchise have been awarded to Wajax, which will name the team the Wajax Winterhawks. PLAC Coocoobad is selling the team, after the government announced that after the end of the season, PLAC's teams and sporting facilities will be sold into private ownership. Coocoostan's Football federation has moved the start of the season back to May 1, citing poor field conditions and direct competition with hockey and basketball. In the summer, only a fledgeling American Football league and a Baseball league only popular in the western half of the country would compete with football. This is Upton Ishmail, thanks for watching and listening and remember, today will be a great day. |

"In the CJHL tonight, Anadahl was 41 seconds away from scoring their first win of the year against the undefeated Panjuhr Hockey Academy, but couldn't hold on, losing in overtime, 3-2. The Skates, did however, pick up their first point in the form of the overtime loss. The win puts PHA into sole possession of first place. In other action, it was PLAC U17 2-1 winners over BSC, PLAC U20 won 3-0 over HC Partisan, but PLAC couldnt' pull off the sweep as the U15s lost 5-2 to the Wild U20s." |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. Today in the Parliamentary Congress, legislation was passed to hold pet owners responsible for the action of their animals. As well, the government has moved to subsidise the production of pharmetseuticals. Opposition criticism continues to mount as the tax rate has now approached 100%. The Independence Party has been fined 500,000 gropeks for violation of election law for its role in the running of advertising after the election deadline. Coocoostan Television Network is still awaiting it's punishment which is alleged to be significantly higher. Coocoobad is still buzzing after Saturday's exhibition football match at National Stadium. When cliques took to the street looking for entertainment, as is normal on any saturday in Coocoostan, they were greeted by vehicles rented by the Coocoostan American Football League(CAFL), which were handing out free tickets to the exhibition contest. All 85,000 were given away in short order and the majority of them showed up for the game, which was Between the two Coocoobad teams, the Coocoobad Huskies and the Northern Stars. The Huskies won the game 21-11. The crowd was heavily favouring Coocoobad as they were unaware of the Stars being from the city as well. The league also has the Panjuhr Lions and Southern Sharks in Panjuhr, the Anadahl Penguins, Ulgava Kings, Wajax Jaguars and Sammikalad Chiefs. The other six teams will play exhibition games before the season starts, February 9th. The season will run 12 weeks, with three off weeks, plus three weeks of playoffs, culminating in a Championship game at national stadium. The CAFL plans to rotate the game, with the 2007 game going to Ulgava and the 2008 game being either in Anadahl or Panjuhr. The league plans to expand to 10 teams next year and hope to set up an international TV deal to expose the league to neighbouring countries. In the CHL Saturday, PLAC shutout BSC 3-0, Tre Kronor shutout Panjuhr Elite 2-0, Dragons HC upset HC Panjuhr 2-1 in OT and Ulgava beat Intel 2-1. The 8 teams are seperated by only 3 points heading into the final two weeks of the season. The last two weeks schedule will be released soon. This just in now, it is expected tomorrow that President Tammy Hagans will send an invitation to Prime Minister Alan Kerk of Kelssek tomorrow, to travel to the country for a state visit. Hagans is looking to open relations after the isolationist policies of Maxim Kaygorodov and the gaffe last week regarding border security. Hagans will also attempt to have meetings with the governments of the FPS, Dannistan, Dovakhan, Gnidrah and Infinite Loop, as a stepping stone to normalizing relations with the other regions. A source in the Foreign Affairs secretariat says "These nations are all players in their corners of the EP and if we can win them over, they will vouch for us with the other nations. Coocoostan's days of being a hermit state are over." It is hoped that the President's relative similarities with Mr. Kerk will help to spawn a working relationship. That's the news. Be sure to join Upton Ishmail at 0530 tomorrow morning with the latest. Now, another new change to the BSC. From now on, we will show the national newscasts of various EP states from 2330-0530 in varying order. Tonight however, the first is BBC Dannistan, Followed by the KBC in English, then SBK in French. On that note, this is Salman Adhakov in the capital, bon soir. |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. Today in the Parliamentary congress, the "Taxation Control Act", a bill designed to lower income tax rates that have recently hit 100 percent, passed 39-17, with the National, Heritage and lone Independence and Independent members voting for and the Labour and Greens, including the president, voting against. This marks another peice of legislation passed against the wishes of the President and seems to show a the reality of a president with no freindly cabinet ministers and only a small portion of parliament. Also today, Kelssek PM Alan Kerk accepted an invitation to Coocoostan and will be visiting sometime next week. No word on the itenerary, although he is not expected to be outside the capital. The Heritage party leadership convention is gearing up for this sunday, the three candidates are: Dreyer, Karla: Heritage Candidate for Prime Minister in the 2005 election, losing that post by a mere 3%. Schultz, Konrad: Owner of Schultz Credit Union, North-Eastern Coocoostan's largest financial institution and owner of the Schultz Credit Union tower, Coocoobad's tallest building. He has no political experience. Tang, Madeline: Current leader, she finished 4th with 11% of the vote in the Presidential election. Formerly, she was a defence attorney and served as the Mayor of Wajax for 6 years. That's all for this evening. Be sure to stay tuned now for our regional view. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 8 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. The Parliamentary congress approved a bill legalizing homosexual marraiges. The bill passed with support from the Labour, National and Green parties, with the Heritage party objecting as well as the lone PCs from the Independence party and Independent. After the vote, Independent PC Lawrence Bloom announced he was choosing to sit with the Independence party and would subject himself to a by-election in two weeks, as per the Democratic Reform Act. The move trumps an effort to recall him and gives him a better chance of winning re-election. Should Bloom be re-elected, his term will expire in February 2007, instead of at the end of this year, with the other PCs. The Heritage Party convention began today in Wajax. The primary feature, the leadership race, is a close contest, but Karla Dreyer, the almost-Prime Minister from the last election, is expected to garner the most support among the party's wealthy core. However, billionaire banker Konrad Schultz is also expected to contend, with an outside chance of current Leader Madeline Tang being re-elected. In sport, the second exhibition game of the Coocoostan American Football League also proved a success, with free tickets luring a capacity crowd of 20,000 people to Summikalad park in Summikalad, to watch the hometown Cheifs host the Ulgava Kings. The Kings, led by Quarterback Patrick McCutcheon, won the game handily 41-0, as the Kings, with a larger budget, have recruited much better players than the Cheifs team, which is Summikalad's only one in professional sports. Be sure to tune in at 11, where I'll update these stories and pass along the Hockey finals, from the CHL and CJHL. Stay Tuned, as coming up next, is Street Patrol, tonight, following the Coocoobad City Police. Pvt. John Carlyle, Coocoobad City Police, 2nd Precinct. "Well, tonight we're patrolling in downtown Coocoobad. With it being a friday night, there are a lot of younger people around. They usually go to the Cinema over by the Trans-Coocoostan, but lately a lot of them have been getting a little more brave and have been drinking at one of the only places in town with a liscence, the Flaming Wheels club, which is run by a biker gang. We're called over there usually four or five times a night by the owners, to kick people out who are trying to pick fights with them. It's not in our area, but with the fact that we know the bikers have weapons on hand, we don't take chances." *later* "Ok, we've received a call that there's been a single-vehicle accident on the corner of Avenue of Heroes and K Street, by the Mcdonalds. It's a yellow sports car, that's it up there, looks like a Mustang GTR. The driver's run off into a parkade, so we're going to search it once more units arrive.." |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. A busy and historic day on two fronts in the capital today. Firstly, Kelssekian Prime Minister Alan Kerk arrived aboard Kel-Force One early yesterday morning. He proceeded to 1 Avenue of Heroes for his sole activity, a meeting with President Hagans. During the meeting the two agreed on several new projects, including the proposed Trans-Border Highway, which was well-received by Neorvins. As well, the nations will open embassies, with Coocoostan opening a new compound in Neorvins as well as Kelssek being given the former Republic of Vietnam embassy on H Street and Lakeshore Boulevard, which has been unused for 30 years. Construction crews could be seen arriving at the structure to begin readying it for use. On that note, the Foreign Affairs comittee began reorganizing for it's first diplomatic mission. Deputy UN Ambassador Maurice Maza was selected to act as Ambassador to Kelssek and will present his credentials to Prime Minister Kerk on Monday. As well, Debra Carrol will be Consular-General to Outineau and Paige Loudermilk will fill that post in Kirkenes. Kelssek announced that Mary Jomarc will act as ambassador to Coocoostan. Prime Minister Kerk also left the door open for President Hagans to visit Neorvins in the near future. At the Heritage Party leadership convention, Madeline Tang was Re-elected, with 69 percent of the vote. Banker Konrad Schultz was a surprise second with 27% and Karla Dreyer was well back with 4%. The re-election of Tang comes as a shock after her poor 11%, 4th place showing in the presidential elections in December. Marshal Lee Murphy announced today that the Coocoostan Military will order a large amount of mostly British equipment. He said that because most of the equipment is surplus, the public will save money, while at the same time, the military will grow significantly. A figure for the total manpower of the CM compared to the old People's Liberation Army of Coocoostan(PLAC) is not yet availiable but is expected to surpass 80,000. Finally, the Interior comittee has begun the search for a new national anthem, to replace "Internationale". No contenders have yet emerged. That's all for this evening. Be sure to stay tuned now for our regional view. First tonight, KBC News, with the Kelssek view of what's being billed as the "Coocoobad Conference". Good evening from the capital. |

The teams take to the ice for one final game tomorrow night, with the Ulgava Wild needing a win to take first place. Breaking news now to BSC. Terrorists have struck in the capital today. Three people have been killed. Marshal Lee Murphy, Commander in Cheif of the Coocoostan Military(CM) is reading a statement now, let's go to him. "Good Morning." It is my sad duty to announce the deaths of two Coocoostan National Police(CNP) Officers. They were killed while executing an arrest warrant at a residence on Outback Road in suburban Coocoobad. Firstly however, I would like to make clear that I will begin at the beginning. At approximately 0605 this morning. Explosions were reported at #1 Avenue of Heroes and the Capitol Building. Immediately, both buildings were evacuated and President Hagans was taken to a secure location, where she is uninjured. Shortly thereafter, guards at the Coocoobad Garrison reported having seen a person launch 5 Rocket-propelled Grenades from the side of the Trans-Coocoostan Highway. As of right now, we beleive three hit #1 Avenue of Heroes, one hit the Capitol and one hit the Schultz Credit Union Tower. No injuries were reported at any of those sites, although there is significant damage. The guards reported having seen the suspect, armed with a military-grade rifle, flee the scene in a white pickup truck, northbound on the highway and exiting on to Outback Road. As soon as the explosions were reported, the Coocoobad detachement of the CNP deployed its Anti-Terror Response Team. They travelled onto Outback Road and discovered a house with a White Toyota Hiliux parked in the carport at around 0625. The 5 officers then moved into the area of the house to secure the perimiter. They were authorized by the CNP National command center to search the residence at 0630. At this time, the CNP requested any assistance that the CM could provide and we dispatched a single member of L-Platoon, the CM's own Anti-Terror Unit, who happened to be on duty at the Coocoobad Garrison. A single CNP officer entered the residence and searched the basement and portions of the main level when he opened the main doors of the residence to signal those levels clear. It was at this point he was shot and killed from a the upper levels of the residence. A second officer entered the building and located the suspect in the attic. He then climbed a ladder into the attic and at this point was shot and killed by the suspect. At that point the CNP National commanders issued a hold as the CM member had arrived. This was around 0645. The CM member, a specialist in entry, entered the residence through the basement door and fired two shots with his weapon, a shotgun to breach the door. He then proceeded to the attic ladder where he threw a grenade full of CS gas into the attic. He then did this again and entered the attic, where he was confronted by the suspect and upon sighting him, engaged in a breif gunbattle where the suspect was shot twice and died at the scene shortly thereafter. The two CNP officers were also declared dead at the scene. I cannot release their names at this point as family have not been notified. On that note I must strongly urge all immediate family of the CNP's Coocoobat ATRT to contact the station ASAP. The only thing I can tell you about the two men is that one was a 2 year veteran and the other had served 5 years. More details will be released later. At this point the CM and CNP as well as the Coocoobad City Police and Coocoostan Capitol Police are satisfied that the threat has passed. We do not know who launched the attack or why, or if it is linked to the attack on Summikalad Reserve Training Centre in December, or any other attack elsewhere. " That was CM's head, Marshal Lee Murhpy, again, two police officers and a terrorist attacker were killed in a standoff at a farmhouse outside of Coocoobad after 5 rocket-propelled grenades were fired at three buildings within the Capital. These were #1 Avenue of Heroes, the Capitol and the Schultz Credit Union tower. There were no injuries in those attacks and the president is unharmed. However, there is significant damage to the upper floors of #1 Avenue of Heroes as well as Damage to the Capitol Dome and the Schultz Tower's penthouse, which we are told, was unnocupied as it was about 6 on a saturday morning when these attacks took place. It is not known who carried out the attacks or why, but it is speculated that it was in retaliation for the large anti-terror and anti-crime sweeps that were launched by Law Enforcement on Tuesday, prior to the State visit by Kelssek's Prime Minister, Alan Kerk. At this hour, the terror threat is beleived to have passed, but the CM will remain at the 2nd degree of readiness, instead of it's usual 4th. We'll be back with more on today's events right after this break. |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. A busy day at the capitol today. The Parliamentary Congress voted 40-16 in favour of adopting Russian as the official second language. Requirements for bilingual packaging are being promulgated in the next few weeks. The CNP released the names of the two of their ATRT officers killed on an arrest warrant on Outback Road in suburban Coocoobad yesterday. Patrolman 1st Class Lewis Feher ,43, New Zealand, 2 years service Patrolman 1st Clas Roberto Hahn, 48, Panjuhr, 5 years service The CNP would not release the name of the man killed by a CM soldier in the raid, but did say that he was the only man in the house and did fire the shots that killed the two officers. They also said that Feher was not wearing body armour, while Hahn was. Both men joined the force after the age of 40, which is no longer possible. The experts we phoned also said that the ATRT should have surrounded the residence and waited for the other ATRT teams from other cities to arrive as well as parts of the Coocoostan Military In sport, the CHL finished the regular season today, with the Ulgava Wild skating away with the Commissioner's Trophy for best record after beating HC Panjuhr 4-2. Other scores had BSC Warriors defeat the Panjuhr Elite 3-2, Tre Kronor over PLAC Coocoobad 3-1 and Intel Coocoobad shut out Dragons HC 2-0. The playoffs will see Ulgava meet up with HC Panjuhr again on Wednesday in game 1 with the other best of 7 having PLAC hosting Panjuhr Elite. On thursday BSC hosts Tre Kronor and Intel hosts Dragons again as well. It is interesting to note that the four teams that play at Coocoobad Arena will play against each other, eliminating travel. In junior PLAC U-17 ended Panjuhr Hockey Academy's 5 game win streak with a 4-3 win in OT. The PLAC U-15s handled the Anadahl Skates easily 5-1 and HC Partisan played their strongest game of the year and led after 1, but still lost to the BSC Juniors 4-3. Tomorrow, Partisan will be in Ulgava to take on the Ulgava wild and two of the PLAC teams will play at Army Sports Palace with the U-20s taking on the U-17s. Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. A Military helicopter was hit sunday by a Surface to Air Missile, while flying near the Trans-Coocoostan highway in Coocoobad, with the CM only making the incident public today. The helicopter, one of the new NH90s acquired by the CM, survived the hit and proceeded to locate and kill the attacker by firing the minigun, basically a gatling gun, mounted in the door. The helicopter then made an emergency landing at the Coocoobad Garrison. The CM says the Gunner suffered the worst of the hit, suffering wounds to both legs and one arm, while the pilot had minor injuries that were treated and he has returned to duty. The helicopter has been repaired and returned to it's base at Coocoobad Airport. The second terror attack this week raises concerns that an entire cell could be operating in the capital. The Parliamentary Congress voted today 54-2 to legalize white-collar unions. The move was opposed by the two PCs from the Independence party. In sport, The CJHL completed round 6 tonight with the Wild U-20s scoring six unanswered goals to win 6-2 over HC Partisan, while the PLAC U-17s shut out the U-20s 2-0 at Army Sports Palace. Going into the final week, it looks like the PLAC U-17s and Panjuhr Hockey Academy will be fighting for top spot while HC Partisan will miss the playoffs and the Anadahl Skates will need a win combined with a PLAC U-20s loss to make it in. The new format this year gives the top two teams byes to the Junior National Championships, this year at the nearly completed South Coocoobad Arena, while the 7th and 8th place teams will miss the playoffs altogether. Round 7 games go Friday night, with the best of 5 playoffs beginning the following Thursday. The CWHL's southeast Division teams played their first games tonight, with the Kalibad Lions beating Ashamkabad Spartak 4-1 and Anadahl Serpents over HC Jagadsemash 3-1. The women are out of action until round 2 goes on Saturday. The CHL playoffs begin tomorrow night: Game 1: HC Panjuhr @ Ulgava Wild, Ulgava Stadium, 1900(BSC) Game 1: Panjuhr Elite @ PLAC Coocoobad, Army Sports Palace, 1930(CTN) And now regional view. Firstly tonight, FPSNN from the Free Pacific States. Good night. |

Good Evening, this is Salman Adhakov with the 11 o'clock news on 1230AM, BSC Radio Coocoobad, 950 in Panjuhr, 830 in Ulgava and 1170 in Anadahl, as well as Channel 4 Nationwide. The CNP today raided a what they called a "terrorist bomb factory" in Panjuhr this morning. Two people inside were arrested without incident. Police beleive the bombs were imported from outside the country, without mentioning the nation by name, beleived to be either Darrowmere, or the tiny nation of Tevi Milou, also within distance of Coocoostan. The Parliamentary congress today redefined the subdivisions of the nation. Capital Oblast: Includes Coocoobad and Wajax, where the Oblast Assembly will be located Southern District: Includes the city of Panjuhr, the capital, as well as a large swath of surrounding territory. Southwestern District: Includes Anadahl, the capital and Jagadsemash. Ondakastan Republic: Capital is Ulgava, Summikalad and Salamkudush are also included. Coocoo Autonomous Oblast: Includes Kalibad, the capital as well as Ashamkabad, this region is cut out of territory belonging to the Southwestern District and Ondakastan Republic. Also the department of the Interior released population figures for Coocoostan's major cities. Coocoobad now has a legal population of 18,455,000 while the mass of illegal residents in the periphery would push that population much higher. Also surprising was the fact that the newly incorporated city of Ashamkabad has risen from 50 to 58 thousand residents in only just two months. In sport, the CHL playoffs will conclude their round 1 tomorrow when #6 Panjuhr Elite meet #3 PLAC Coocoobad at Army Sports Palace for game 7 of their series. Panjuhr Elite led the series 3-1, but lost the last two games. #1 Ulgava Wild, #2 BSC Warriors and #4 Intel Coocoobad eliminated #8 HC Panjuhr, #7 Tre Kronor and #5 Dragons HC. It was the last game for both Tre Kronor and Dragons in their current setups. Tre Kronor will move to the new South Coocoobad Arena and become the South Coocoobad Rams HC, ending over 40 years of the Swedish ex-pats playing in Coocoostan's national league. Dragons HC will move to Anadahl, which had good attendance for it's junior team this year and is planning to build a new arena for the team, while they will play the 06-07 season in an expanded Anadahl Rec Complex. PLAC Coocoobad has also announced plans on it's future as part of the Military's selling off of it's role within sports. The team will be sold to a group of investors led by banking Magnate Konrad Schultz and will be renamed to the Coocoobad Red Menace and will play at Army Sports Palace, which will be renamed the Schultz Credit Union Palace after the end of the season. In junior, the PLAC U-20s advanced to the Junior National Championships by sweeping the Warriors U20s. They join the Panjuhr Hockey Academy and Wild U20s who advanced on byes. The PLAC U-15s lead the U-17s 2-1 in their best of five and play again on Tuesday. The doubleheader at Army Sports Palace on Tuesday: PLAC U-17 @ PLAC U-15, ARMY SPORTS PALACE, 1430 CJHL PLAYOFFS RD1 GAME 4 (U-15S LEAD 2-1) PANJUHR ELITE @ PLAC COOCOOBAD, ARMY SPORTS PALACE, 1930 CHL PLAYOFFS RD1 GAME 7 (SERIES TIED 3-3) The games are expected to sell out, so please contact the box office immediately.
