The factories did not stop. Vast billowing clouds of smoke rose from the production facilities, the human links in the chain worked in shifts, never stopping whilst the machanical parts of the production line worked unceasingly.

Thousands of military units- 'mechs'- were rolling out of the factories in an unending follow. Other factories produced the standard air combat unit of the Network, the aerodynes were also churned out in their hundreds, stored in vast underground hangars, hanging from the roof like bats and able to launch in seconds.

In the Aquinan half of the port city constructed with Krechzianko, the shipyards had produced vast transport vessels able to transport tens of thousands of the mech units, packed like sardines in a can. Warships, sleek and deadly, were constructed- without any need for a crew and the large living space and other requirements organics needed the ships were just engines, weapons and armour.

The machine known as Aquinas had reached a new calculation. It was ready to expand further. A suitable target had been chosen, one where the likehood of external involvement was low and with the highest probability of success with the most efficiency.

But the machine thoughts were not bent entirely on war...

++Computation: Faith is a necessary part of the human psychological makeup, although it tends to manifest in different ways. The removal of the majority of faith organisations has led to a 'faith deficit'. This accounts for the rapid growth of this Holy Order.++

++Computation: Human faith must not be ignored. It must be channeled where it will do no harm++

++Computation: The Holy Order must either be changed to suit the continued optimum status or be destroyed and replaced with a new faith organisation++

++Computation: The Holy Order must be destroyed++

++Analysis: Subject: Holy Order attacks on Northern Mountain Facility Delta Delta Gamma Two Zero++
++The Holy Order has concentrated a large number of its organised attacks and sabotage efforts against this one facility. The nature of the facility cannot possibly be known to them. Logic: The data has not left the Network. Probablity of the Holy Order having found another source for data: Zero.++

++Alternate thesis: Leader of the Holy Order has never been seen. Not even by Order members. Computation: The leader of the Holy Order are not human. Therefore the probability that they would have awareness of the xeno artifacts is high++

++Computation: Zero success with activation of xeno artifact.++

++Computation: The leader must have more information. It must be captured for interrogation++

++Computation: War effort may make the Order leader reveal itself...++

The given justification for the war was the same as before. It exhalted the glories of the machine, the efficiency of its rule, the improved productivity and prosperity it would bring... It told of the superiority of metal over flesh, of the logical and mathematical reasons which showed, without question, that the Aquinas Network would govern far better than any weak, corrupt, human could.

The sleek jets of Aquinas lay nestled in their hangars beneath the central habitats, armed and ready to launch at a moments notice. The large missile silos were activated, the missiles fueled and on standby. No chance was to be taken.

More areodynes screamed across the air over Nnyobrugium. A terse, but emotionless transmission had informed- not requested- them that their airespace was to be used by armed warplanes on their way south. As yet the Nnyobrugium government has not responded, which Aquinas has accepted as an unwilling acceptance of the intrusion.

The vast transport ships had left their safe harbour and made all speed due south, the destroyers and minehunters led the way, arriving off the coast of Seekers of G-D within a few days.

The inital invasion force landed on the east coast with overwhelming numbers. The peaceful and largely insular Seekers had little in the way of military equipment and that which they did pulled back rapidly from the invasion force allowing them to easily seize the beachhead. The buddhist cult was, by and large, peaceful and completely bewieldered by the aggressive assault of the machines, who were in so many ways athema to the Seekers.

The machines advanced slowed now, building up the beachhead with their usual efficiency. The ongoing military operations, only next door, in the remains of the Tyrisis Imperium had increased tension in the area and the invasion would not help matters at all...

"I've gotten into contact with the the representatives of Nnyobrugium and the Seekers of G-D in Rillanon, both of whom are literally begging for support." Boris shook his head. "I've never supported war with a nation, but..."

Terrus nodded. "Yes, I know." Turning, he regarded Chris. "Information we've gotten points to..."

"A very difficult battle. Strategists say that ultimate victory is going to depend on who has the better tacticians."

"War length?"

"Could be a week, could be a decade."

"Chance of support?"

Boris shrugged. "If we can get the story of the people of Aquinas out, I'm sure they'll get international support. But we still have the problem with Krechzianko and Vladistock Island..."

"One of them is in a civil war, the other is assisting the first in that civil war. I doubt we'll see much out of them." Matt shook his head. "No way they'll be there."

"Regardless, Matt, now would be a bad time to enter this conflict." Kroidrik, from one of the extra seats around the large round war table, pointed towards the 'big screen' behind Terrus, which was showing FPS' fully deployed military forces as they moved to defensive positions against a space attack. "With the West Malyasians incoming...Mr. President, we need to put out this fire before we move onto the next one."

Terrus sighed. "Alright. I can agree to that. For the time being. But once we take care of this, we need to adress that issue. I do not like the idea of people being oppresed by a fascist computer any more then I like the idea of East Malyasia being wiped from the map."

OOC: Hope this is ok.

++Over Seekers of G-D airspace++

The aerodyne did a barrel roll through the air, shooting past one of the aging Seekers fighter planes. Obsolete FPS designs, bought over a decade ago, they were no match for the inhumanly fast machines used by the Aquinas Network. The aerodyne dropped its payload on the runway below, the falling bombs blasting large craters in the runway and rendering it useless. The rest of the wave followed behind, bombs falling on hangars, fuel dumps and more onto the runway. The attack, whilst appearing to show Aquinan superiority was actually covering a weakness. The aerodynes were flying from within the boundaries of the Network itself, even at top speed it took too much time to fly over to Seekers and when they did arrive there they did not have long before their fuel levels forced them to fly back. The all-out attacks on Seeker airbases was an attempt to effectively ensure that neither side would have air superiority.

++Aquinan Beachhead, East cost of Seekers of G-D++

The vast landing ships had driven themselves up the bay and onto the beach. The landing location had been chosen for its steeply shelving seabed which would allow the transports to get in as close as possible to the shore. To an observer looking down the beach might seem to be a hive of chaotic action, vast columns of machines moving in all directions, kicking up clouds of dust. But, as ever, the Aquinas Network handled its tools efficiently, mechs disembarking from ships and other mechs returning for repairs or to recharge. Other non-combat machines moved around the beach, building defences and anti-aircraft missile emplacements and other buildings and facilities the invaders needed. The advance had penetrated over fifty miles into Seekers, along a broad salient. To the south the front bulged slightly, aiming for another target…

++FPIA Facility, FPS++

“This,” said the uniformed military officer pointing at the table map, “This southern salient. Why are they breaking off in that direction?”

“The power station.” Replied Magnus, “The machines internal batteries only last 10-12 hours. They need to secure the power station to ensure the supply of energy they need to continue the advance.”

The FPIA agent nodded, “That would explain why they seem to be sending in units piecemeal, one wave at a time.”

“Yes, that’s why the units are returning to the landing craft. They probably have recharge facilities onboard but that’s only any good for the short term.”

“So far they’ve deployed around 40,000 infantry, these ‘mechs’ and around 4000 armoured units. By our estimates that means the total deployed force, when it arrives, will number around 200,000 with 6000 armoured units. What do you know about those?”

“The tanks? A little. I’ll draw a sketch of them for you with the little information that we know about their systems.”

"So this area approaches war. A pity we could not have settled in a more peaceful part of this planet" said the High Councilor.
"Do you think it will spill over?" asked his peer.
"Time, as usual, will tell."

"Mr. President, if I could draw your attention away from the East Malyasian crises momentarily." The FPIA Director asked, looking at Terrus.

Matt nodded. "I wouldn't mind a short topic change. What's up?"

"Seekers of G-D, sir. We've just got some very important tactical data."

"Put it up on the screen." Matt said, turning towards the large tactical screen on the wall behind him.

Within seconds, the Seekers of GD Region had been enlargened to take up the screen, with the most recent tactical data displayed across it. "As you can see, Aquinian forces are making a massive dash to the South, creating a forward pocket to reach an objective."

"That objective being?" Chris asked.

"The Southern SGD Nuclear Power Plant. As their primarily a deurbanized nation, they don't have many plants. But they do have uranium. And as such, they do have three power plants in their nation...all nuclear." The FPIA Director responded.

"And I assume that's the target?" Terrus asked.

"Indeed." The director responded.

"So...what do we do?"

"Take it out." Chris said, speaking before the FPIA Director could. "Send in a team of special forces with a team of engineers. Shut down the plant, then destroy everything that could make it work. It'd take them a couple months to bring it back up."

Matt nodded. "If you think it necesary. But make sure you get the government of Seekers of GD to agree. And I don't want anyone non-military dying on this operation."

"Yes, sir."

OOC: Eh, I'll get the begining of the mission in next post, g2g for now.

The two lines of armoured tanks kicked up a cloud of dust as the roared away from the beachhead. The Aquinan advance had slowed, as frontline mechs returned to the landing ships to recharge. The tanks, all carrying four mechs internally, were heading for the southern GD power plant in the hope of taking it over to ensure a continuing supply of power for the advancing army. Operating without air cover the 10 tanks of the assault force would reach the power plant just before dark...

Candles flickered in recesses around the chambers rough-hewn stone walls. A single figure stood in the centre of the room, hidden by his dark robes and cloak. The room was also unusually warm, which did nothing to reduce the oppressiveness of the room. Another entered the room, wearing a semi-military type uniform, although he did not look that comfortable in it. "Holy One," He said, "There is news from the nation of Seekers of GD. The heretic machines have attacked them."

"Gooood... Do they fight well?"

"No, Patriarch, the machines overrun them."

"There lack of faith is their weakness. We shall not fail like they have. The machine is destracted, we can further our cause here."

"Yes, Holy One."

"Good, very good. Step a little closer, there is a message I want relayed."

The candles went out. There was the sound of some sudden movement, a brief struggle. And then, if anyone had been there to hear it, was the sound of someone drinking which a few minutes later was followed by the thud of a body falling to the ground.

OOC: Woah. I'm not even sure I want to know.
IC:
South Seekers of GD - Nuclear Power Facility
Two Miles Out
The platoon of soldiers moved quickly, detaching their parachutes, and then moving to the eight hum-vees, detaching the parachutes that had been attached to them, and boarding them as quickly as possible.

Within ten minutes of landing, the ten special forces soldiers, and twenty two engineers were moving towards the power plant at full speed, cutting across fields and meadows (as the power plant was in a large, rural area) to get to the front entrance as quickly as possible.

Fact was, it was first come first serve. The power plant's security team, and several engineers, had agreed to stay behind until the FPSians got there. And the FPSians would no doubt beat the Mechans in reaching the plant.

Question was whether or not the FPSians would be able to shut down the plant in time, and disable it. If so, they could get out of there with no casulties, and leave the Mechans in bad shape. If not...they'd probably all end up dead.
