Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() BREAKING NEWS: President Im and Prime Minister Lin agree to cremate body of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun. ![]() In a rare bipartisan move, President Im and Prime Minister Lin have reached an agreement to stop the practice of embalming the body of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun (Pictured above) and to cremate his body at a crematorium, as well as to demolish the mausoleum which the body is being stored at. Previous administrations, whether it is the military junta, interim administrations or post-Chenite administrations, have engaged in lengthy debates whether or not to preserve Chen's body or to cremate it. The Im administration and the Conservative lead Lower Assembly lead by Prime Minister Lin have finally reached an agreement to stop the practice of taxpayer funded body embalment on Chen and to cremate his remains in an undisclosed crematorium. The body of the brutal dictator is currently interred at the Chen Jong Sun Mausoleum, 5 miles north of the Greater Pyongjing Area. The Budget Office of Bai Lung has claimed that it has costed the taxpayers to date (18th Dec) 32.5 million or 100,000 a week to embalm the former leader since his death in September 2011. The President confirmed that the body will be cremated on on the 28th December but will not release details on which crematorium will be used to burn his body nor would he give details on whether the ashes would be stored or be scattered in an undisclosed location. Reigning upon Bai Lung with an iron fist, Chen ruled from 1962-2006, after ousting the previous military junta who ruled 12 years before him. Chen styled himself as a populist for the common working man and woman, promising high standard of living for all citizens. However, since the late 60's, Chen became increasingly autocratic and threatened to execute any citizens who spoke vociferously against his policies. Recent Wikileaks reports show that Chen had a personal fortune of $5 billion and owned several spa baths. Chen would die in 11th September 2006 after suffering from a major stroke as a result from excessive consumption of alcohol. His particular favourite drinks include cognac and bourbon. The bipartisan agreement comes after the Labour President and the Conservative Prime Minister clashed over economic policies such as the austerity measures placed in the country and public expenditures. The Marxist Party spoke strongly against the burning of Chen's body, claiming it assaults the legacy of Chen and the policies he has enacted during his 44 years in office. Leader Sun Ju-Bai has called on followers of his party and supporters of Chen Jong Sun to protest outside of every crematorium in the country in response to the Executive and Legislative's decision to burn Chen's body. There are an estimated 6,000-7,200 crematoriums throughout the nation. |

Full stories, opinions and weather reports available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Planned cremation of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun receives a mixed reception. ![]() As the President and the Prime Minister of opposing parties make a very rare bipartisan agreement to stop the embalming of the former Stalinist leader Chen Jong Sun with the help of taxpayer's money, there has been a very mixed reception from various members of the public. Some people show general support for the burning of Chen's body while others expressed outright condemnation, calling for the body to be embalmed under any circumstances. Although the official reason given by the Im administration to burn the body of Chen is because he is trying to cut back on government spending as part of Im's austerity measures, some have speculated that the move is simply political and Im and Lin are attempting to whitewash the history of Bai Lung. Neither President Im nor Prime Minsiter Lin will give further details on which crematorium will they use nor would they confirm or deny that the ashes will be stored in government sanctioned institutions such as Fort Wu. BLCTV News has spoken to various members of the public with varying points of views. All the Im administration has told BLCTV News is that the cremation of Chen's body will be held on the 28th of December this year.

Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() President Im's warning to Marxist Party leader over Chen Jong Sun body burning fiasco: 'Take part in at least one legislative session or face snap Special Election'. ![]() President Im has warned Marxist lawmakers of both chambers of the Assembly that they would lose their seats if they do not take part in at least one legislative session within 60 days after the late 2011-early 2012 recess. The stern warning from the President comes after a movement spearheaded by Marixst leader Sun Ju-Bai, involves boycotting any and all future legislative sessions if President Im goes through with cremating the body of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun and demolishing the mausoleum, a position in which President Im stands firmly by. President Im has warned Marxist lawmakers that they are violating Article 1, Section 2, Clause 4 and Article 1, Section 3, Clause 2 which deals with vacanies in the Lower Assembly and Upper Senate respectively.
Speaking before reporters, President Im outlines his ultimatum towards Sun Ju-Bai. He warns that lower house members would face a snap election and senators would be re-appointed by a Labour Senator and would not back down on the burning of Chen Jong Sun.
President Im has always deny that the burning of the former Stalinist leader is purely political, but it is merely done on economic grounds. According to the Budget Office of Bai Lung, maintaining the body of Chen and the mausoleum would cost the taxpayer BL$100,000 a week. The demolition of the mausoleum and the cremation of Chen's body is part of a 5 year austerity measures to cap the budget deficit. Marxist Party lawmakers refute this claim, and have acussed the Im administration of whitewashing the history of Bai Lung. ![]() In related news, around 1 million protestors have marched in the streets of Pyongjing to protest against the planned burning of Chen. Many of them waved pictures of the late dictator while others openly displayed statuettes of him. Many also chanted out 'Long live the Great Eternal Leader'. A counter protest of anti-Chen protestors also took part. So far, only 20 people were arrested from today's protests, most of them from the pro-Chen camp. |

Speech receives a mixed reception. ![]() President Im has broadcasted his second and final Christmas Day speech to the nation as the incumbent leader. President Im could not broadcast his Christmas speech last year after a group of rogue High Court Justices have launched a failed coup against his Presidency which has resulted in a prolonged gunfight between the judges and the police. President Im was hit in the abdomen by a straying bullet. In his 20 minute speech, President Im highlights the difficulties of the economic austerity measures he has imposed on the country. In spite of the measures, President Im has strongly defended the measures as a 'necessity for shared sacrifice for everybody'. He has, however, left a positive message by stating that the budget deficit has been trimmed by 2% and the deficit gap would be closed by 2014, one year earlier than expected. President Im has re-affirmed that he is merely a caretaker President for the nascent Free Republic of Bai Lung and would step down after the next Presidential election in July 2012. President Im has also confirmed that Southern Bai Lung will re-unite with the rest of Bai Lung on New-Years Day. ![]() Moving onto a more controversial topic, President Im has announced that the cremation of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun (Pictured above) has been successfully completed. While not mentioning when and where the cremation took place, President Im has re-affirmed that the cremation of the former leader was done as part of his austerity measures and has no political motives behind it. Reading a piece of statistics from the Budget Office of Bai Lung, would cost the taxpayer BL$100,000 a week to maintain his body and the mausoleum in which his body is being stored in. President Im has acknowledged that his move would cause mixed reaction but stated that the protests would die down and people would support his actions in the long term. President Im has announced that the mausoleum itself would be completely demolished by New-Years Eve. Adding some clarification behind some confusion whether his body was to be burned on the 29th December, President Im has stated that Chen's body would be cremated before the 29th December rather than on 29th December. Overall reaction to President Im's speech has been met with a mixed reception, with those praising Im for his honesty and intregrity, while others criticised him for his decision to burn the body of Chen. Protests from pro-Chenite supporters continue nationwide. |

President Im and the entire cabinet members had to evacuate the Presidential Office Building after a suspicious package has landed there. President Im himself did not make contact with the package nor was it in the meeting room when he was holding a routine meeting with the cabinet members. According to Prime Minister Lin, the package was sent to the Presidential Office Building at 10:00 AM. It was an intern to Zhou Minlang, the Secretary of State, who opened up the package, only to find bags of white powdery substance along with a note which reads 'CHEN [JONG SUN] WILL FIGHT BACK FROM THE GRAVE! YOU TURN HIM INTO BLACK POWDER, HE BESTOWS A WHITE POWDERY SUBSTANCE TO YOU IN RETURN!' A police bomb squad was sent to the Presidential Office Building shortly after the intern warned the cabinet of a suspicious package. The POB was cordoned off for 10 hours before re-opening. Despite initial reports that the white substance is anthrax, police has since confirmed that the powdery substance is the same rat poison-arsenic mixture that was used to poison interim admin Kim Ki Moon in 2007. No one to date has been arrested for sending the poisonous substance. |

Birdy (a ThrushXpress post) from Marxist Party leader Sun Ju-Bai: I have my ideological differences with President Im in the past. We are 180 degrees different from at least 50% of our political positions, whether it be economical or social positions, we do agree that it is healthy for our nation to allow a wide range of views, no matter how offensive it maybe. Not I have the audacity to send a package with lethal substances as a way to express my opposition to the burning of Chen. I pray for the President's safety and I totally condemn the person who sent that package. |

Excerpt from Opinion Programme Across the Aisle![]() Pat Bu Kar Nan, conservative political pundit (On defending President Im's decision to burn Chen Jong Sun's body): 'This throwback dictator does not deserve a shred of sympathy, even amongst the most sensible of Bai Lungese people! Chen Jong Sun has killed at least 60 million of his own people, maybe more than 100 million people thanks to a recent finding that this oppressive dictator may have killed more people than we have previously thought! To pay tribute to Chen is like paying tribute to the Nazis! Are these people deprived or what?! This mob mentality of these pro-Chenites have reached unfathomable levels here, Tang. Overall, I believe that President Im did the right thing and closed a chapter to our dark past. There were mini pro-Chenite parades held throughout the country and it is right that the President chose to crack down on these parades too. 1 or 5 or 100 people, a Chen Jong Sun parade is illegal in all circumstances! To those who probably don't know, I am to the right of Im on every issue but this is one thing he did that was in line with my own political beliefs.' Tang Wie (Host of Across the Aisle): 'Your counter-argument, Mr Sun...' Sun Ju Bai, leader of Marxist Party (On criticising the cremation of Chen): 'Mr Bu is totally wrong on this issue, Tang. Chen was a wonderful leader, a truly inspirational statesman and an unforgetable orator. He did more good to his nation than he did bad to her. For instance, the state showed compassion by alloting citizens with generous food supplies on a weekly basis. Almost nobody died because of that. The economy was closely supervised by Chen to make sure there was no cut throat competition by the private sector. Everybody was given a minimum wage so nobody got less than other people. It was a fabulous time! To have President Im burn the body of Chen was simply the last straw for some of the people. Those who voted for him in the 2008 Presidential election will never vote for his [Labour] Party ever again because of what he did. However, I did not condone the actions of the person who sent that package to Im despite we do not agree with each other for the most part. I will respect the President as long I have the right to pay tribute to Chen, the best leader that our country has ever produced.' |

January 1st is not only the beginning of the New-Year, but it is also is the birthday of the former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun who ruled from 1962 to 2006. The upcoming event would have marked Chen's 93rd birthday. It is widely believed that the 26 hours curfew is imposed simply because of political motivations but a spokesman to President Im released a quick statement explaining why the curfew has been imposed on that date.
The provisions of the 1 day curfew.
Members of the Marxist Party have claimed that Im's curfew is simply a partisan attack against followers of Chen. Sun Ju-Bai, the leader of the Marxist, has called for President Im to rescind his Executive Order and to respect the rights of the pro-Chenite followers and has vowed to break the curfew if he refuses.

Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() President Im's 2nd warning to Marxist Party: 'Flout New-Years Day curfew and face lifetime ban from running office in the future. ![]() President Im (Pictured above right with his wife Celina) has issued a second warning in a month to Marxist lawmakers of both chambers of the Assembly that they would be permanently banned from running office if they attempt to flout the 26 hour curfew imposed on virtually all citizens except for those who are working in emergency services and some working in the retail sector. The curfew would apply to fellow lawmakers as their recess would end at the 3rd of January when the 2nd half of the 2nd Bai Lungese National Assembly begins. Shortly after the Executive Order was enacted into law, members of the Marxist Party have accused Im of censorship and having a highly political motive behind the curfew, a charge vigorously denied by President Im. January 1st marks the birthday of the former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun. Yesterday, Marxist leader Sun Ju-Bai has threatened the Im government by intending to flout the curfew.
Today, BLCTV News has asked Mr Sun if he would continue with the threat.
President Im has responded to the comments made by Mr Sun by warning that he and his fellow elected colleagues would end up with a criminal record for misdemeanour charges (in violation of the curfew) and therefore would breach Section 2, Clause 2 of the Bai Lungese Constitution.
The Section mentioned by President Im is:
This particular part bars anyone who has a criminal record, small or major, and also places a temporary ban on individuals who are suspected of committing a crime. In practice, it could mean all 45 Marxist National Assembly Members (11 in the Upper Senate and 34 in the Lower House) are liable to lose their seats if they plan to carry on with the Chen Jong Sun birthday tribute. Southern Bai Lungese residents to anticipate re-unification with rest of Bai Lung. Residents living in the Southern, Dovakhan administrated area of Bai Lung are anticipating for re-unification of the rest of Bai Lung which coincides with New-Years Day. The re-unification measures would mark the first time in which the southern part of Mao island is re-united with the north since June 2007 during the final stages of the Bai Lung-Dannistrian war. It was this war which has resulted in the country being divided and administrated by 4 different countries: Dannistaan, Coocoostan, Free Pacific States and Dovakhan. The 26 hour curfew imposed in the northern part of Bai Lung would also apply to the newly re-united south as well. |

South Bai Lung was administrated by Dovakhan, one of four nations to administer the country, the others being Coocoostan, Dannistaan and Free Pacific States. Unlike with the other 3 states, Dovakhan implemented policies based in their native country such as the teaching of Dovakhanese in schools. Despite the widespread teaching of the language, a survey held in that part of Bai Lung shows only 5% are profficient at speaking Dovakhanese. Families from both sides of the country embraced each other and gave teary emotions as they have not made contact with one another for 4 and a half years. As the curfew law was implemented for the rest of Bai Lung after re-unification, the police have begun escorting the newly reunited families into coaches and taking them to their relevant destinations. President Im has officially suspended Greater Pyongjing Area Chief Constable Wong Dan Dan after he was seen attending a local Marxist rally in Southern Pyongjing. Amateur video footage shows a group of 5,000 people taking part in a local Marxist rally at Taipi district, Southern Pyongjing on 5th of January. Amongst the crowd clearly shows Chief Constable Wong standing at the back of the crowd, smiling and talking to an unknown participant. Marxist leader Sun Ju-Bai was not at the rally when Wong took part. In fact, Mr Sun was in West Dannistaan meeting with First Minister Andrew Ma during a 3 day visit there from 3rd to 5th January and arrived back at the 6th. President Im has stated that Chief Constable Wong's affiliation with the Marxist Party is in violation of the Non-Partisan Emergency Personel Act 2010. which bans Firefighters, Ambulance crew, Coastguard, Doctors, Military personel and Police officers from joining a political party, off duty or on duty. President Im has also ordered the rearrest of all 45 Marxist lawmakers, who broke the New-Years Day curfew by celebrating the 93rd birthday of former Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun. The president has stated that their release was highly influenced by Chief Constable Wong's membership of the Marxist Party. |

President Im has announced to the media that 95% of the Chen Jong Sun mausoleum has been demolished, leaving only the foundations of the building. The original deadline for the demolition of the main building was supposed to be 31st December 2011 but a series of various factors such as pro-Chenite demonstrations have prevented this task from being completed before that date. President Im did give furthers details about the demolition such as the number of personel used nor would comment about whether the location would be sold to private buyers. President Im did, however, order the construction of a large electrified fence which would encompass the former location of the mausoleum as well to fill up the foundations which used to support the mausoleum. |

All 45 Marxist lawmakers from both the Lower House and the Upper Senate have been rearrested by police after they flouted a New-Years Day curfew. President Im has placed the curfew just days before the New-Years. He has always maintained that the curfew is simply imposed on health and safety grounds and has nothing to do with politics. In addition, President Im has released statistics justifying the curfew.
If charged for flouting the curfew, the entire Marxist lawmakers could lose their seats in accordance to Section 2, Clause 2 of the Bai Lungese Constitution which would bar anyone with a criminal record from running nor would allow suspects to hold office. |

Excerpt from Opinion Programme Across the Aisle![]() Stephen T. Ding, former Conservative Party Leader (On the controversial decision to burn Chen Jong Sun's body): 'What has these far-left Marxist statists got to cry over? This man is already dead! He is no longer with us! Why are the cigar munching commie bigots are weaping all over a man who had passed away for 5 and a half years?! What do they want? What do they need? Another Chen? Me, I don't want another Chen! Me, I don't need another socialist statist in this world. People want individual freedoms and free markets without any strings attached. The REAL Bai Lungese want to move away from the brutal dictatorship of Chen and are extremely happy that Chen's body is burnt. I could have done it as soon I was interim admin had I won my fight against the current President [Im].' Tang Wie (Host of Across the Aisle): 'Some would consider your fiery rhetoric to be repulsive and unappealing, especially the moderate swing voters...' Stephen T. Ding, former Conservative Party Leader: ' This IS moderation, Tang. Moderation in the sense I am moderating the government's role through limitations. If I quote-unquote moderated my views, then I will become a different man and I won't become Stephen T.Ding. I could be Joe Chen or even our Marxist himself Richard Im! I could have went further than Im when he placed a 1 day curfew and put 2 weeks instead. I would have made it legal to allow police to place a few rounds into the heads of any loiters. That's moderation.' |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Prime Minister Lin announces plans to resign from top job. Prime Minister Lin has announced plans that he would step down as MP for his district by the of February in order to focus on his Presidential campaign. The outgoing PM has thanked fellow members of the Lower House for their hard work and for assissting him during his tenure as Prime Minster. Mr Lin has spoke favourably of the increased bipartisan legislation passed in recent months. Mr Lin's speech, however, was met with a mixed reception with Conservative MLAs clapped uproariously while Labour MLAs hissed and jeered at Mr Lin. The Im administration has declined to comment on the retirement of Mr Lin. Opinion polls for the 2012 Presidential election give Mr Lin a huge advantage over his political opponents with a 40 point lead on average. By retiring as MP for Cheng-In South district, Mr Lin has effectively resigned as Prime Minister of the country. His retirement as PM will trigger a Conservative leadership election, as well as a special election in his district. Conservative Depute Leader Suzuki Nozomu will announce that he is running for the leadership. If successfully chosen as the Conservative leader, Mr Suzuki's refusal to adopt a Chinese name as PM would violate Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5.
Mr Suzuki has stated that he would challenge parts of the Constitution through deferring his case through the High Court. |
