Marxist Party councillors, MLAs and Senators have gathered outside the headquarters of BLCTV Group in central Pyongjing in opposition to President Liang's proposal to privatise the state owned media. Marxist leader Jonnie Ting declared that Friday marks the beginning of 'Keep BLCTV Public', a grassroots campaign aimed to keep BLCTV Group a state run affair. They began the protests peacefully with a New Year Gala style event, playing loud drums and having Lion and Dragon dances as entertainment. Mr Ting has called for the protests to expand beyond the capital. A spokesman to President Liang has stated that although they respect the protests of Mr Ting and his followers, President Liang will not back down from the plans to privatise BLCTV Group. He called the privatisation plans an 'exciting and innovative approach to provide top entertainment for the current and next generation.' |

Ding and 20 Conservative MLAs and Senators have called for the de-funding of the non-profit organization Parenthood Association of Bai Lung which provides reproductive health and maternal and child health services after the chairman faces allegations of child abuse. PABL chairman Barry Kim Yu-Hong has been detained by police after 3 men came forward claiming that he abused them during the periods of 1980-1999. The 3 victims, who were around the ages of 10-14 during that period claimed that Mr Kim asked them for sexual favours in return for some money for keeping the affair quiet. Mr Ding has lambasted PABL as being a waste a taxpayer's money, and has referred to the organisation in the past as a 'baby killer group'. Pollster Kronenberg found that just only 10 percent of Bai Lung reported feeling positive or negative emotions on a daily basis, compared with 60 percent of Dannistrians who felt positive or negative emotions and 57 percent of Listonians who felt both emotions. These two nations made up the top two in recording the highest response. Even Kelssek, Coocoosstan, Dovakhan, 1 Infinite Loop, Drakengaard scored far higher than Bai Lung. A survey was conducted in the Nahrin Union but government intervention prevented the survey from being completed Kronenberg said these behavioral indicators are “a vital measure of a society's wellbeing’’. Kronenberg asked respondents questions including “Did you feel well-rested yesterday?", "Were you treated with respect all day yesterday?", and "Did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday?". Kronenberg measured negative experiences including anger, stress, sadness, physical pain, and worry. Positive emotions include feeling well-rested, being treated with respect, enjoyment, smiling and laughing a lot, and learning or doing something interesting. The results are based on telephone and face-to-face interviews with 1,000 adults, aged 15 and older, in each country each year between 2009 and 2011, Kronenberg said. |

President Liang, President Lin and virtually every member of the Assembly of Bai Lung have openly condemned the right-wing party, the National Democrats, for holding a conference that purportedly downplays the Nationalist Junta's role during the Bai Lungese-Dannistrian War 2007. President Liang released a public statement, condemning it as an 'affront to the entire civilized world'. Prime Minister Lin called the conference "shocking beyond belief.". Members of the Marxist party were even more vocal and blunt in their condemnation, calling the conference a 'meeting of Bai Lungese-Dannistrian War deniers', 'Bai Lungese-Dannistrian war denial conference' and an 'attempt to cloak anti-communist sentiment in scholarly language'. The TND have strongly denied that the conference, held from 26th to 30th November at the capital Pyongjing, is a denial of the existance of the Bai Lungese-Dannistrian war of 2007. TND leader, Ma An-Hou, claims the conference is actually a deep and thorough debate on the real causes of the war. In the first day of the Global Vision of the Bai Lungese-Dannistrian War, vice chairman, Ma An-hui, showed images of the Bai Lungese People's Army operating a Taepodong missile launcher, dating 4th February 2007, the day in which the Nationalist Junta launched their first ever missile attacks against Dannistaan. The BLPA is the the military arm of the Communist Party of Bai Lung and is one of the largest military forces in the EP, with an estimated 3.5 million members. The junta made a demand to the Dannistrian government to hand over General Lin Bao, the right hand man to then-President Xiu Lin Wei. General Bao remains at large. Hong also made a threat to strike down any laws that would specifically ban the highly controversial conference, in which many critics believe that the right-wing party is deliberately downplaying the significance of the war. On the second day of the conference, the National Democrats made a claim that no civilians actually were killed during the war, and estimated that approximately 1,000-3,500 troops, mainly Communist and Nationalist forces, died during the 4 month conflict. Chen Guolong, who was imprisoned after releasing documents online showing corrupt activities within the then-Richard Im administration, caused a minor diplomatic row when he escaped house arrest in his village in the outskirts of the capital and reached the Dannistrian mission in the city centre itself. Despite promises by the nascent Liang administration, a spokesman to President Liang has made it clear that the house arrest order imposed on Mr Chen will continue, prompting criticisms from other Conservatives. The Dannistrian ultimately refused to grant him asylum and handed him over to the police, Government officials and police descended on his village home, prompting his nephew Chen Guoshuang to attack them with a kitchen knife, wounding three people.
Chen Guoshang appeared thin but in good health at the trial on Friday, his father said, adding that another relative was allowed to observe the proceedings and sent news of the verdict to the family. Court officials were not immediately available to confirm the verdict and sentence, which came after a six-and-a-half hour trial. He had been charged with the crime of intentional injury. |
