BREAKING NEWS: Acting Interim Admin leaves post.

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Li An Ying (Pictured above on the lower end of picture) has formally declared his resignation today, exactly one week after he publicly announced to leave the top position. His resignation was held at the Pyongjing City Hall at midnight today where he handed over his paperwork to acting successor Chiba Seto (Pictured below) who was picked by the cabinet to succeed Mr Li himself. Mr Chiba signed the inauguration papers and was sworn in. The event was attended by Dannistrian General Duh'rahn N'outah as well as two rival candidates, Ling Wei and Richard Im, the former collaborator of controversial film director Marcel Chen. As he commended Mr Li for his hard and endearing efforts to restore Bai Lung into a democratic country, Mr Chiba has also condemned the spree shooting at Port Sung on Christmas day, leaving 67 people dead and has called for an immediate investigation into the motivation of the attack. He will re-shuffle the cabinet tomorrow.

Before giving his formal resignation, Mr Li flew to Dannistaan to meet with Dannistrian Prime Minister P'aanil F'orrlason Smith where he will hold his final meeting with the PM as they plan the future of Bai Lung, which is currently under occupation from 4 different nations, including Dannistaan itself. He returned to Bai Lung at 1900 yesterday where he filled in the last of his paper work. When asked if he has intentions to work with Mr Chiba, he replied "It is up to Mr Chiba if he will give me an important role in his cabinet. Personally, I would be an advisor to him instead of fully engaging myself to politics. My plan is not to get involved with the stressful aspects [of politics], hence my retirement."

New Years Celebrations which as it suggests celebrates a new year but this is not the case as it ended in tragedy as nation wide riots cripple the country. Protesters looted stores, publicly burned Japanese literature, destroyed Japanese goods as well as people who are remotely Japanese. Mr Chiba, who is part Japanese himself, has explained the motivation behind the intense rioting is purely anti-Japanese. Critics of Mr Chiba claim that if he is elected successfully, he will remove Mandarin Chinese and Korean and replace both with Japanese as the official language of Bai Lung. Mr Chiba stridently denies any of these claims, intending to keep both languages as the official languages. However, he does express desire to re-model the education system so that it resembles that of One Infinite Loop, in which he claims it to be "impeccable".

Police struggled for 9 intense hours quelling all riots in the country and by 1200 today, Mr Chiba imposed a nationwide curfew to prevent any reprisal attacks on establishments. The riot has taken the lives of under 40,000 people, most of them caused by crushing and over BL$650 million worth of damages.

Despite the riots which the country has went through today, Mr Chiba announced that the Interim Admin elections will go through, which are to be held on January 10th.

National Bai Lung Democracy Memorial Hall opens.

Posted Image

The National Bai Lung Democracy Memorial Hall in Pyongjing is opened to the public for the first time since the fall of the Chenite regime. The renaming of the controversial memorial hall was to undergo drastic refurbishment under the Nationalist regime but clashes with the Stalinist forces meant such plans had to be shelved. Plans to re-name the memorial hall re-surfaced in late June when late Kim Ki Moon discussed plans to re-name the memorial to former dictator Chen Jong Sun but it was Li An Ying who suggested renaming it. The refurbishment was given the green light in September and construction began on December. The public re-opening of the memorial hall was met with mixed reactions. While some praised the decision, others felt the memorial hall should be removed altogether instead of renaming it to distance itself from the dark and brutal times of the regime.

Chenite supporters celebrate late dictators 89th birthday.

In related news to the reopening of the National Bai Lung Democracy Memorial Hall in the capital, supporters of the former Chenite regime have gathered outside the Presidential Office Building to celebrate what would be the 89th birthday of ex-dicator. Chen Jong Sun who ruled the country from 1962-2006 died in September 11th 2006 after suffering two strokes in that year. He was 87. The crowd was quickly dispersed in accordance to the curfew imposed by Chiba Seto.

Chiba Seto unveils new cabinet.

After much careful tribulation, Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has unveiled his new cabinet today as part of a "brand new shake up for a brand new year". Notably, former Interim Admin Li An Ying was given the job as Secretary of Treasury (formerly known as the Chancellor of the Exchequer). Mr Li has debunked all rumours suggesting he will be accepting a top job in the North Pacific, insisting that he will be working closely in the field of politics. In Mr Chiba’s words, he wanted his cabinet to be diverse and intriguing to both himself and the public eye. Some of his proposals include remodelling the education system, offering free health care to everyone regardless of income and approving the Dovakhanese language in their controlled area.

Quote:

”I have no problem of Dovakhan bringing their language to the controlled areas. It would be very beneficial to the people of Bai Lung and will teach them that there’s more to life than us or Dannistaan. The EP is a very diverse place and we need to face the hard facts that there are other superb countries to explore. It’s great that Dovakhan are granting us the opportunity to explore business in their territory.

The Chiba cabinet:

Interim Administrator - Chiba Seto
Deputy Interim Administrator - Kurosawa Aya

Secretary of State – Zhou Minlang
Secretary of Treasury – Li An Ying
Secretary of Defense – Ren Guo Cheng
Secretary of Agriculture – Kim Ridong
Secretary of Commerce – Chen Qin Qin
Secretary of Education – Chen Yu Kai
Secretary of Environment – Liu Jia Bian
Secretary of Health – Yi Quan
Secretary of Labour – Sanada Miyuki
Secretary of Transportation – Wang Joon-Jin

Reactions to the re-shuffle proved to be strongly negative, especially with the appointment of two other Japanese senior members. Mr Chiba has told the media that appointing foreign members of the cabinet will promote tolerance and eliminate bigotry against those of Japanese origin. Despite strenuous efforts to promote equality, large crowds of protesters marched around the capital. Mr Chiba has confirmed that an election will be held on 30th January and the winner will be announced on the following day.

In related news, a man has been arrested for controlling a radio controlled helicopter containing poisonous gas intending to kill Mr Chiba at the Presidential Office building in the capital. The man identified as Tang Tien Moon was seen using a radio controller and refused to answer any questions from the police. He was pressed to the ground and taken to the nearest police station.

Sing Ren residents hold 1 minute silence.

Sing Ren residents held a minute silence outside of the Sing Ren city hall to hold a commemoration of what would be the 1st anniversary of the Nationalists taking power after a violent coup with the previous Stalinst regime. Supporters have called for the return of the Nationalist junta and for the hand over of Stalinist General Lin Bao, who remains at large as no one is aware of his whereabouts. Sing Ren has a long history of strong Nationalist support and this continues to this day. Chiba Seto expresses his concern for the residents but clearly stated that it is their choice to protest against his government as long as it is done peacefully.

Chiba Seto expected to win election.

Posted Image

Polling stations have been opened throughout the nation today since 7.00AM where the public will cast their votes today. There has been some reports of intimidation by supporters of the Chenite and Nationalist regimes but police are confident that they will arrest anyone who uses physical or verbal abuse to voters. In the Pyongjing city hall, a woman, Huang Ae Wen (28) has been arrested for pulling the hair out of another voter as well as screaming anti-Japanese slurs at her target. The victim identified as Ono Minamo (22), was said to be "badly shaken" from the incident but will continue joining the queue to cast her vote.

Acting Interim Administrator Chiba Seto has stated that all votes will be casted secretly and they reserve the right not to discuss who did they voted for. The move was made to increase the confidence of potential voters and therefore increase the number of voters turnout. In November last year, the Dovakhanese Governor made a referendum whether allow Dovakhanese rule of Southern Bai Lung to continue. This has failed to give a conclusive result as only less than half of eligible voters turnout.

At 5.00PM, all polling stations have been closed where they will be counted. A man has been arrested for attempting a forced entry into the Pyongjing City Hall.

Mr Chiba is expected to win the upcoming elections by a comfortable majority of 52% votes. Vote turnout also proved to be promising as an estimated 58% of eligible voters turnout. Despite this, the Li An Ying cabinet modified the Bai Lungese Constitution so the result will only be valid if the turnout is equal or greater than 55%. The amendment was made in the light of the last 2 elections where both elections proved to be too close for comfort. In August last year, Kobayashi Taro defeated favourite Li An Ying by a tiny margin of exactly 70 votes. Chiba Seto has re-iterated that the electoral reforms will prevent all subsequent elections from achieving similar results.

In November, former admin Li An Ying promised that an election will be held in 22nd November but a weather scare has halted all chances to hold such plans.

Richard Im, the former collaborator to controversial film director Marcel Chen is expected to take 2nd place with 38% of votes and Ling Wei will finish in 3rd place with 10%.

Bai Lung freeze strands thousands.

Severe winter weather is causing chaos in Bai Lung as hundreds of millions of people try to return home for the country's main holiday, Lunar New Year also known as Bai Lungese New Year.

At least 560,000 people are stuck in the railway station in Choi, in the northern part of Chongkim province, where most trains are cancelled. Many thousands are stranded because of blocked roads, with some areas running of salt to spread on icy areas.

More than 200 people have been killed since the severe weather began. Snow and sleet have affected central and southern parts of the country. Highways as well as railways have been brought to a halt, especially in Northern parts. Bai Lung international airport have been closed.

Last year three and a half billion journey were made over the New Year period, making it the largest mass migration in the East Pacific. It is estimated that over four billion journeys will be made this year, breaking last years record.

BREAKING NEWS: Chiba Seto wins popular vote but Interim Admin Election falls short of minimum turnout. Riots break out in Pyongjing and Sing Ren.

The latest Interim Admin election has failed to pass through, the Chiba Seto cabinet has confirmed today. One of the notable conditions required to validate the election is that at least or more than 55% of voters is required to elect their leader. Despite being far greater than the last two elections, it still falls far short of the minimum requirement as only 53% of voters turnout.

Incumbent acting admin Chiba Seto has won the popular vote with 52% of votes. The long time collaborator to controversial film director Marcel Chen, Richard Im has taken a respectable 44% of votes, a figure much higher than predicted. Ling Wei, the former food aid worker, is in 3rd place with a meagre 4%.

Chiba Seto, who ran an aggressive campaign in the past 3 weeks as a way to grab more potential voters and encourage them to choose their choice of candidate and without the fear of violence or intimidation, was said to be "greatly disappointed" with the results and has called for the election to be held sometime next month at the earliest.

Quote:

"I am so hugely disappointed with the results delivered by the latest elections. My aim was to get more hard working, law abiding citizens to get off their chairs, walk into our polling stations and choose their leader without the fear of being a victim of violence or having other citizens expressing a strong desire to cut off a part of your body.

-Chiba Seto

Richard Im remains confident that he will win the next elections by beating Chiba Seto to the top position. He also states that if he is elected, he will re-instated a clause which requires the winner to be sworn in using his Chinese name. Currently, Chiba Seto can still use his adopted name as Interim Admin.

Quote:

"What I would like to do with my envisioned agenda, is to reverse a large portion of the policies enacted by Chiba Seto. Notably, what name he must use when sworn in. Right now, he can use his Japanese name as Interim Admin. Doing that is like getting two citizenships but never residing in one of the two countries while at the same, vote in both. This creates a lot of resentment amongst the people of Bai Lung and therefore they [the Japanese named politicians] are not integrating properly into Bai Lungese society. What I wish to do is to embrace a more pragmatic approach and that is to address all future Japanese named Bai Lungese Interim Admins by their Chinese name only. I will be smiling when my rival consumes humble pie when I will claim victory.

-Richard Im

3rd place Ling Wei, simply commented that he will stay on as a candidate for the next election and has urged all youths to partake in order to increase the turnout.

Quote:

"Who knows...I might be the next interim admin if the public become increasingly disillusioned with their current leader and might opt for someone more traditional. The switch to one government to another is very normal and it shows that democracy has made a huge impact within Bai Lugnese society.

-Ling Wei

The results of today's elections:

Chiba Seto- 52% (578,761,101)
Richard Im- 44% (489,720,104)
Ling Wei- 4% (44,520,052)

Turnout (2.1 billion eligible voters) - 53% (1,113,001,257)

In related news, riots have shocked the residents of Sing Ren and the capital as shops were looted and cars are being deliberately set on fire. Rioters taunted the cabinet calling them "criminals" and making references to Nanjing. Many wrote anti-Japanese slogans onto the buildings of Japanese establishments. Ironically, many of these places are owned by Bai Lungese businessmen who are not of Japanese heritage. Police have spent all night trying to quell the riots and restore peace within the cities.

Marcel Chen's agent's adopted son dies.

Posted Image

Christian Dawson-Kim (pictured above), the adopted son of Anderson Kim, the agent of controversial film director Marcel Chen, has died at a Kirkenes Hospital in Kelssek, aged 40. He had reportedly been in a coma and on a ventilator, and died of complications arising from pneumonia and liver failure. His ex-wife, Nichelle Ourad was "hugely devastated" by her former husband's death.

Quote:

"He was fighting so bravely, his body was totally compromised and he'd lived so hard."

-Nichelle Ourad

His father, Anderson (aged 59) was at his son's bedside. He called the event "a sorrow event in which without a morsel of doubt, is the darkest and saddest part of my existence.". He read passages from the bible as his son was reaching closer to his death.

Christian was adopted at the age of only 5 months when a 19 year old Anderson Kim and 22 year old Huang Du Wu took him into foster care while the couple were studying at Kirkenes. Huang was infertile so conceiving a child proved to be impossible. His biological parents, Kelssekian couple Henry Milhouse Dawson and Renée d'Estaing went through a divorce shortly before Renée gave birth to Christian. Nameless at first, his adoptive parents gave him the name of Christian because Anderson and Du Wu were raised Catholics.

Being fluent in Mandarin, Korean, French and English (and later Dannistrian when he married Nichelle Ourad), Christian used his polyglot status to serve as a translator between Bai Lungese and Kelssekians throughout his entire life. Despite possessing this advantage, he was often giving hurtful nicknames like: "Frog'el" (A portmanteau of the Dannistrian slur or Barel and frog, a common slur to describe French people. Christian has Dutch, French and German heritage.), "Pǔtōnghuà guǐzi" (Literally: Standard Speech Ghost. Used by Bai Lungese to describe a Mandarin speaking white person, especially those who speak it with a different accent other than theirs) and "Custard bun" (Being white outside, yellow inside). He is notable for his unusual accent, which is consider by many to be a mixture of Chinese, Korean, Canadian and French Canadian although unlike his parents, he never code switched.

The Kims moved to Nordu Dannistaa city in 1983 where his dad started a talent seeking agency. During that time, his dad met with a 20 year old aspiring film director Marcel Chen and not only did Anderson Kim became Marcel Chen's agent, but also his manager and best friend.

Using his father's status as an agent, he starred in a number of minor acting roles at the age of 17. It was around this time where he found out that his adoptive parents were not his real parents although in a Nordu Dannistraa Daily interview 3 months before his death, he always stated that Anderson and Du Wu are his real and only parents, eschewing the idea of adoption.

After appearing in a string of small roles, he gained recognition by starring in a supporting role in Marcel Chen's critically acclaimed 2000 film: "Anonymity", a film about personal identity and sexual identity. His new found glory was cut short when he made the headlines in the same year for murdering his cousin's boyfriend in Nordu Dannistraa City, for which he served 5 years in jail. Shortly after his release, he flew back to Kelssek for the first time in over 2 decades where he married Dannistrian immigrant Nichelle Ourad.

In 2006, Christian pleaded guilty to abusing his then-wife Nichelle Ourad and was placed on probation, and was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Despite this, he continued to drink 2 bottles of rum daily shortly after his release from rehab as well as smoking 8 packets of cigarettes every day.

Two weeks ago, he was sent to hospital after his landlord found him lying face down with 12 empty bottles of rum and sleeping pills at his Kirkenes apartment.

While many consider his role in Anonymity to be his finest performance, he will be best remembered for the 2000 death of Dong Sung-Ho, boyfriend of his cousin, Kim Jia Wen, at the Anderson Kim family's estate.

He said in court that he accidently pushed Mr Dong out of a window causing him to fall 3 stories during an argument over whether the boyfriend had beaten his pregnant girlfriend. The fall critically wounded him and Mr Dong later died in hospital.

Pleading guilty to manslaughter, he spent 5 years in prison.

Jia Wen committed suicide in 2001 at the age of 18.

Marcel Chen has recently visited Anderson Kim's place of residence in Nordu Dannistraa City to comfort Christian's mother Du Wu but declined to give any interviews in regards to his own recent problems in East Dannistaan. He will not be allowed to visit the hospital where Mr Dawson-Kim died as he has been banned from entering Kelssek after head-butting a person at a bar in Neorvins last year.

Kobyashi Taro trial starts.

Posted Image

The trial of Former Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro (pictured above) has formally begun.

The case centres around a video clip broadcasted by the terrorist group Free Bai Lung showing the 49 year old sexually harassing a young woman and then forcing her to have sex with him. The clip also showed him performing lewd acts with his victim before leaving her crying helplessly on the street.

In October last year, Mr Kobayashi was removed from power by his cabinet for his role in the video. Despite this, he has denied raping the young woman nor having any intimate relationships with her. In fact, he repeatedly stated that he does not recognise the lady at all, stating that many Bai Lungese has similar looks and it would be easy to confuse him for somebody else.

Mr Kobayshi's lawyer claimed that the tape was completely staged as they hired a look-a-like and a sound-a-like to appear in the short clip "pretending" to rape the young woman, insisting that his client would never engage in such heinous acts. He pointed out that the location where it was filmed, had very tight security so assaulting someone let alone filming it would be impossible to achieve.

Mr Kobayashi's defence was contradicted when the victim, identified as Yang Jie Jie, claimed that Mr Kobyashi did rape and humiliated her. She claimed that she was being humiliated by Kobayashi Taro because she is a distant relative of a member of Kobayashi's cabinet (she did not specify who is she related to). She also claimed to been drugged by Mr Kobyashi but there is no clear evidence which suggest that. In December last year, Miss Yang was found dead in her apartment with an injection needle found in her left arm.

In September last year, Mr Kobayashi came under heavy fire when a photographer claimed that he witnessed Mr Kobayashi raping a young girl and drugged her at the Chiang Kai Shek district in the southern capital. He also claimed that he was beaten up by Mr Kobayashi's bodyguard who told him to remove all images and destroyed his camera. Mr Kobayashi denies raping the girl, insisting she was his daughter and has a heated argument with her.

If found guilty, Mr Kobayashi could face 25 years in jail for rape.

On the other hand, if Mr Kobayashi is cleared of all charges, he could challenge the Chiba cabinet by asking for a recall referendum. If successful, he would be able to put his name forward for that election and be re-elected if he gains the majority of votes.

Although Li An Ying promised repeatedly not to hold an election until the trial of Kobayashi Taro has reached a conclusion, the political stability of the country became a subject of debate prompted Mr Li to hold an election soon. Mr Li resigned early this year due to overwhelming stress.

Kobayashi Taro: I was in meeting room at time of rape.

Posted Image

Ashamed former Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro gave evidence today at the Pyongjing Central court after he was charged with raping a prostitute in last October, a crime which Mr Kobayashi has stridently denied and has since been trying to clear his name.

In Mr Kobayashi's defence, the 49 year old claimed to be attending a business meeting at a 80 story sky scraper in Qing Qing at the time of the incident. Mr Kobayashi's lawyer, Wu Ban also added to his defence by showing detailed minutes from the day of the meeting which was held in 30th September at 1500 hours. Mr Wu played the taped showing the date and time of the recording which was also on 30th September. He also claimed that the video was actually shot in Sing Ren and the street resembled nothing like Pyongjing.

Quote:

"At the time of the so called 'rape incident', I was in a meeting room in Qing Qing with 30 other politicians and businessmen, discussing about the possible plans to increase budget for public transport.  In no way did I ever violate nor humiliated a young woman like her. For a high level of authority to commit such heinous crimes is simply unthinkable."

-Kobayashi Taro

BL Attorney claims that the date and time of the recording may have been edited to cover up the tracks of Mr Kobayashi's acts.

As Mr Kobayashi continued giving evidence to the judge, a man and a woman were arrested for contempt of court. The couple waved anti Japanese banners and heckled Mr Kobayashi by shouting "IT WAS HIM! DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS CONNIVING CHARLATAN! HE DID RAPE THE POOR LITTLE GIRL! DEATH TO LIN! THE BEAST MUST BE SLAIN AND HIS HEAD PRESENTED ON A SILVER PLATTER BEFORE A CROWD OF 2 BILLION PEOPLE! " as well as calling him "J@p @nus!" before the couple were taken away by security.

The prosecution interview will commence tomorrow. Relatives to Yang Jie Jie and eyewitnesses will be giving their evidence on the case.

Wie An: Kobayashi drugged, violated and urinated on me in his youth.

Posted Image

A woman who claims to know ashamed former interim admin Kobayashi Taro, said in court that he was romantically linked with her in the early 80's. The woman, Wie An (aged 45), claimed that she dated Mr Kobayashi while she was studying economics at University of Central Dannistaan in 1983. It was around this time where they were dating each other. Within 4 months of dating one another, Ms Wie claimed Mr Kobayashi started to act weirdly. In Christmas of that year, she received a dead cat from Mr Kobayashi which was gift wrapped and scented to hide the stench. She asked him if this is a prank, he replied curtly: "It's the real article, it's yours mon cherie..." before she screeched at him and ordered him to leave her flat immediately. She repeatedly regretted not calling the DSPCA.

The ride didn't end there. In January 1984, Ms Wie complained to her landlord that someone wrote "Marry Me" on her door in pig's blood. She claimed that it was Mr Kobayashi who perpetuated the crime. There was no evidence which suggest he did it. She stated that he received a 'love letter' from him every week, threatening to run over any future boyfriends. In March of that year, Ms Wie claimed that Kobayashi vandalised her car by adding a 'flower power' design to it. The following month, she claimed to have received 'an apology' letter from Mr Kobayashi but was fooled when the gift which accompanied it containing a dead snake tied up around a broken television which had writings on the side of it. It read "Marry me today" in a black marker pen. She also claimed that Mr Kobayashi shoved a dead piglet inside the tv.

Revolted by his actions, she finally called the police in which they arrest Mr Kobayashi but released him within a week due to lack of evidence and non-matching fingerprints. The teasing of Ms Wie peaked when she was alleged ambushed by Mr Kobayashi himself after a night out with her friends sometime in May 1984. She claimed that she was drugged as she felt a sharp object entering her right arm and suddenly feeling very giddy afterwards. She also recalls being urinated on and Mr Kobayashi thrusting on her 50 times before leaving "his goop on my face". Since then, Ms Wie has regretted not collecting his semen so that she can prove it was him who raped her.

Shortly after the alleged rape, Mr Kobayashi finished his studies at University of Central Dannistaan and flew back to Bai Lung to set up a small furniture company and never spoke to Ms Wie again. Currently residing in Bai Lung, she claimed that her memories of him did not re-surface until the trial began 2 days ago.

She presented the photos of each incident apart from the rape as well as the weekly letters sent by Mr Kobayashi to back up her statement.

Mr Kobayashi acknowledges the relationship with Wie An but denies raping nor harassing her. He claimed within 2 months of dating her, she had a serious drinking problem and often beat him several times a day. Often downing 2 bottles of vodka daily, she constantly taunted Mr Kobayashi on his Japanese background calling it "devil blood" and would swear and kick his groin if he did not agree with her opinion, no matter how trivial. He stated that the relationship was severed on Christmas day 1983 when he was involved in a heated argument with her over the treatment of her cat, in which she fed it vodka and poisoned it. He recalled throwing her portable tv across the room screaming out he can no longer put up with her turbulent personality and stormed out of her left.

In his defence in regarding the letters, he denies writing them, insisting that someone could've wrote them to frame him and therefore ruin his reputation. He said the photos are faked as she took them recently and deliberately aged them to make it look old. He finally added that the other statements made by Ms Wie are sloppily concocted by her "little imagination". He continued re-iterating about his whereabouts on 30th September last year and that if he did not rape Ms Wie, he did not rape Miss Yang either.

The prosecution interview came to an early close as the father of 25 year old Yang Jie Jie threw a large wooden container (belonging to Yang Jie Jie) at Mr Kobayashi, causing a moderate injury to him in his left arm. The father, Roh Ming Lin (Pictured above) broke into tears and anger as he accuses the 49 year old of deceiving the public with his "blood soaked fabrications".

Quote:

"IT'S LIES, ALL DISGUSTING LIES! You are the worst human being ever to have existed on this planet. Your brutal acts of rape, torture, drugging and murder is a damn good indication of what I think of your spiteful race. You rape my daughter and you raped some other innocent girl 2 decades ago! We should have taken back the 71 dreaded years which your goddamn race did to our people by wiping you and your people off the map. You are worse than Chen Jong Sun or the Nationalist juntas combined and even then, they're angels compared to you! Your evil acts are so irredeemable, the lowest level of hell will have no accommodation for you. You drugged, raped and murdered my daughter! Don't say you didn't do it! TELL US THE F***ING TRUTH! THAT IS WHAT WE ARE WAITING FOR! THIS IS SOMETHING WE ARE FIGHTING HARD FOR: THE TRUTH! YOUR BLOOD SOAKED FABRICATIONS WILL NO LONGER FOOL ME NOR ANY OF THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE TAKEN THEIR PRECIOUS ENDEARING LIVES FROM! YOU ARE A MADMAN! I WANT AN END TO YOUR NEVER ENDING LIES! JUST SAY YOU DID RAPE AND MURDERED MY DAUGHTER! DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT?!?!"

-Roh Ming Lin

Mr Roh (aged 60) was taken away by security before Mr Kobayashi gave his reply. Mr Roh later claimed that he grew agitated of Mr Kobayashi's defence and was hoping to knock some sense out of the former Interiim Admin. The court proceeding was formally adjourned by the judge and will resume on Sunday.

BREAKING NEWS: Fire partly destroys historic gate. Man arrested for starting fire.

Posted Image

A 17th century gate in Pyongjing, has been partly destroyed by fire in what police believe may have been a politically motivated arson attack.

Zhōngjingmen, or Gate of the Central Capital, is considered to be the country's most iconic landmark and greatest national treasure to many. More than 250 firefighters fought the flame which broke out at 0800 today, but the wooden structure collapsed, leaving only the stone base largely undamaged. A large trail of black smoke engulfs much of the capital as commuters travel to their place of work. The fire also happened on the same day which the first Valentine’s day was officially held nationwide.

Five years prior to today's incident, the landmark was re-opened to the public for the first time since the Japanese invasion of Bai Lung in 1937. Acting Interim admin Chiba Seto visited the carnage today and simply replied:

Quote:

"The heart's of the general public will be aching with unbearable pain. To see a burnt down revered landmark is like brushing dust across the floor, so abrupt, so emotionally painful. Whoever did this unforgivable acts of crime will be punished severely..."

-Chiba Seto

The gate is officially called Sungnyemun or Gate of Exalted Ceremonies, it has served as the main entrance to the city when Pyongjing became the country's capital more than 300 years ago. The original purpose was to keep foreign occupiers from attacking the city, particularly Chinese, Japanese and the indigenous (the Koreans took the island first) as well as to protect the king living at that time. It's present known name, which was informally adopted in 1962, derives from the fact that the capital was located in the middle of the island.

It remains one of the few historic monuments in a largely modern city and it survived both WW2 and the Dannistrian invasion of the country last year. BLCTV News gave initial reports that the fire had ben put out when fire crews arrived at the gate shortly after the blaze was reported but residents were then shocked to see the flames flare up at the building as they watched live images on tv.

Officials from the Bai Lung Cultural Heritage Administration had told firefighters to proceed with caution, meaning they could not break into the area where the fire started. Professor Wang Su-Myeong of Pyongjing Polytechnic University said the fire could have been controlled at an earlier stage had the firefighters target the right area.

Quote:

"Someone could have entered the structure. It's this mass of confusion which leaves me bewildered...”

-Professor Wang Su-Myeong

Public reaction to the fire was met with disbelief and melancholy.

Quote:

”It is heartbreaking to see a 3 century old landmark destroyed in literally seconds. It is an important piece of work because it had no association with either the Nationalists or Chenite regimes. It was the building which gave our people one thing: our identity. Zhōngjingmen was the gate which we all stand by. It was the very thing that protected the king from the foreign invaders of the past. Our national icon is now merely ashes…”

-Mr Wen

The gate was first constructed in around 1615 during the reign of 7th year reign of King Gwanghaegun of Taejo and some 10 years after Koreans discovered the island, to protect themselves against the natives. It was rebuilt in 1668 after the Chinese entered the country and burned down the gate. A 32 year battle followed and it continue due to lack of sophisticated methods to communicate between the island and the respective countries of the occupiers. As the years passed, a peace treaty was formally signed in 1700. Since then, both sides had to inter-racially marry each other due to a lack of Korean women at the time. Miscegenation became the norm.

The 2 storey structure had been given the status of “No.1 National Treasure” in 1962. Initial reports say that it would take 5 years to restore the monument and BL$60 million in costs. Authorities say they have detail plans of the gate after measuring it in 2005.

A man has been arrested for allegedly starting the fire. Identified as 68 year old Wu Gong Sik, some people noticed that a man with a walking stick was seen running out of the structure shortly before the blaze was reported. Police have refused to rule out whether he was purely responsible for starting the fire or an electrical fault as possible cause of the fire.

BREAKING NEWS: Riots break out at Kelssek ice rink after hockey match in WCIH. Players attack coach.

Posted Image

Riots have broken out in and outside the Place Gauchetiere arena in Laneux, Kelssek, after the Kelssek team defeated the Oldboys by a score of 5-3. Thousands of Oldboy fans engaged in a fight with their rival supporters and shouted out racist language at them as they threw stones and chairs at their direction. There are reports of some Bai Lungese fans being treated at hospital for stab wounds after several of them engaged with each other in a vicious knife fight. One fan of the Oldboys described yesterdays incident as "atrocious".

Quote:

"The relentless carnage caused by the Oldboy fans is just downright awful. I don't think these people are fans of the Oldboys at all. They are probably a group of criminals who just wanted to pick a fight with a foreign nation and when their blood thirsty wishes aren't fulfilled, then they are quite happy to fight with one another to get some of that pleasure. They're....animals..."

-Oldboy fan

The riots weren't limited to the arena itself, the riots continued to break out in the streets of Laneux where Oldboy fans smashed up a gay bar in the Laneux city centre and attacked gay and non-gay patrons. Many rioters also target Japanese establishments and burned many Japanese branded cars. Chairs and barstools, assumed to have been taken from a Japanese restaurant, were thrown at police. Firefighters arrived at the scene to put burning cars but their efforts are partly hampered as rioters threw chairs, bricks and stones at their direction. By 2AM the riots came to an end.

The numbers of arrests remains uncertain. Sing Ming Daily News reported that over 3500 have been detained by the police while Kelssek media reported than only more than a thousand Bai Lungese fans were arrested for their role in the riots.

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has publicly condemned the riots in Kelssek, denouncing many of the Oldboy fans who took part in the riots as fans and has branded them as "thugs".

Quote:

"...thousands of thugs, not sports fans, just mindless thugs, chose to set fire to the arena and attack and intimidate their rival fans. I abhor all forms of discrimination and violence as a way to gain an advantage as this simply barbaric."

He has announced his intentions to offer compensation to those were affected by the Laneux riots. He has also called for those who partook in the riots to be punished severely by the Kelsekkian government and he will sentence those who return to Bai Lung for life.

Quote:

"As a result of such unforgivable and heinous acts, I call for the government of Kelssek to punish those who participated in yesterday's riots and ensure that none of them see daylight again. So let me re-iterate myself. Those thugs sole purpose is to wreak havoc to the very fullest and to impose their own customs to their likings. They are not fans, they are criminals and should be locked away."

Mr Chiba also wrote an apology to Kelssek Prime Minister Pierre Gautain denouncing the violence. The 61 year old is also intending to visit Kelssek regarding the incident and plans to hold talks about improving relations between the two countries.

In related news, Oldboy coach Kim Dong Wen has been sent to hospital for head injuries after two players attacked him with their hockey sticks. The 65 year old blamed Pak Chi Wu for scoring own goal when he failed to deflect an attack made by one of their opponents resulting in the puck slipping into their own net. Him and fellow player Wang Ri Dang allegedly assaulted Mr Kim with their hockey sticks. Both players have been charged of aggravated assault.

Mr Kim is in a stable but critical condition. Doctors will monitor his condition closely but they did not give a specified date to discharge him from hospital

Zhongjingmen suspect confesses to fire, commits suicide.

Posted Image

The suspect of the recent arson of the iconic landmark Zhongjingmen has confessed to starting the blaze, police has confirmed.

The fire erupted early on Thursday ravaged the nearly 400 year old wooden structure, leaving only the stone base intact. The incident is now referred to as The Valentine's Day fire.

Police say the man, a 68 year old with an arson record, confessed in a police statement that he started the fire because of the ruling of Chiba Seto and of a land row also relating to Mr Chiba. The man, Wu Gong Sik was arrested on Thursday in the capital.

Many members of the public were left stunned by the loss of the gate, one of the few buildings to have survived WW2, the Nationalist and Stalinist regimes and the Bai Lung-Dannistrian war last year.

Quote:

"The suspect has confessed all of his criminal acts to police and with careful examination of evidence and lengthy deliberation, we are satisfied that the reason behind the arson attack is politically motivated. "

-Jin Young Er

Mr Wu was motivated by a dispute with the Chiba Seto cabinet over compensation related to a land sale and he was unhappy with the appointment of a part-Japanese politician, Mr Jin said. Mr Wu used petrol to start the fire but stored the contents in an empty bottle of vodka, the police confirmed. Mr Wu also claimed to be the father of Wu Wei Wen, the man who was arrested for attempting to poison Dannistrian general Duh'rahn N'outah in August last year. Wu Wei Wen died in police custody after hanging himself with bed sheets.

Shortly after the confession, Mr Wu lashed out at the police, grabbed a pen and stabbed himself repeatedly in the neck. The 68 year old was taken to hospital were he died on arrival.

Mr Wu was to be charged with arson of an important landmark and if convicted, he could face 20 years in prison. Police will decide whether to posthumously charge him.

Richard Im: Mr Chiba must be held accountable for Saturdays riots or I will call a motion of no confidence.

Posted Image

The Acting Interim Administrator has come under heavy fire from a member of the cabinet.

The Secretary of the Interior, Richard Im (Pictured above) has called for the resignation of acting interim admin Chiba Seto and be held accountable for the riots in Laneux, Kelssek on Saturday which involved the Bai Lung ice hockey team known as the Oldboys playing against their Kelssekian counterparts. The Oldboys lost 5-3.

The former collaborator of controversial film director Marcel Chen insisted that Chiba Seto had indirectly played a part in the riot which left several establishments vandalised, by failing to check the background of each fan which otherwise could've prevented the costly riot. Shops and restaurant belonging to Japanese and LGBT people were amongst the worst affected and racial and homophobic slurs were thrown at the respective communities. Police were also injured in the intense riots which lasted through early hours of last Sunday.

The 50 year old has called last weeks riot the worst crisis involving Bai Lungese people overseas in over 15 years and one of the worst crisis of the 21st century.

Despite sending a letter to Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain, the bow tie wearing Catholic claimed that Mr Chiba's apology letter is not enough and has called for Mr Chiba to apologise for the "silly mistakes" in a televised statement, be held accountable and to step down voluntarily as well as hold an election early.

Mr Im has set a dead line for the 61 year old to resign voluntarily and apologise for failing to stop any Oldboy fans with a criminal record. Mr Im claims that if no action is made by 29th of Feb, then he will call for a vote of no confidence, which only requires half of the senior cabinet members to pass through. The vote itself requires 2/3 of the entire cabinet to embarrass or defeat the Interim Admin. He/she must resign and request a general election. In addition, the person who proposed
the vote of no confidence and succeeds, he/she is instantly eligible for the role of acting interim admin provided that at least 50% votes for the person.

Mr Chiba has denied any wrongdoing in his part from last weeks incident, arguing that thorough background checks would never have prevented the riot. He further backed up his argument saying that most of the rioters had no prior criminal record, invalidating Mr Im's argument. Mr Chiba has challenged Mr Im by asking whether he would have done the same if he were in the top job. Mr Im declined to comment.

When hearing Mr Im's ultimatum, he simply laughed off the proposal made by the 50 year old and has announced that he would formally fire the Secretary of the Interior for his "pathetic language". He will find a replacement on Sunday. The sacking of Mr Im was met with criticism by some. There has been some questioning as to whether he is abusing his powers as Interim Admin, though Mr Chiba defended his right to sack Mr Im "with good reason".

Mr Chiba has remained adamant in that he will not to leave the top job and will continue to campaign to run for a term of 4 years. When asked if he intends to seek re-election if he is elected on 10th March, he simply replied "yes".

Secretary of Health condemns drinking contest. 29 die of blood poisoning.

Posted Image

The Secretary of Health has condemned an annual drinking event in a village outside of Qing Qing, which has left 29 people dead and 450 more sent to hospital and treated with alcohol poisoning. Yi Quan has called the nearly 4 decades old event as "irresponsible with the potential destruction to severely undermine Bai Lungese society" and has appealed to Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto to shut down the factory outside the village which makes the majority of the highly alcoholic drink.

A life long teetotaler, Ms Yi has spoken in favour of banning all alcoholic drinks in Bai Lung to clean up the image which the country has associated itself in the past 5 decades for dictatorships and instability. Ms Yi's parents died when she was very young and has claimed that both died of alcohol poisoning. Spending much of her life in foster care, she spent a life long campaign to ban all alcohol from her country, something deliberately ignored by ISB.

Located in the southern outskirts of Qing Qing and with a population of over 175,000 people, the village of Cheng Lung is home to a highly alcoholic spirit named Wújí (无极) or Limitless. It's name owes to the fact that it's alcohol by volume is disproportionately higher than most spirits today with an alcohol by volume of 65% although a number of the cheaper imitations contain ABV of around 70-95%. The alcohol is traditionally stored in a blue ceramic bottle (usually 1 pint) but modern bottles are of the transparent kind and are made with glass (Pictured above).

It has produced 500 million gallons annually and is noted for its smokey, pungent taste and the intense, prolonged burning aftertaste it gives. It's high alcoholic content means that it not recommended to consume any alcoholic beverages for at least a week.

The event which is held on 22nd February of every year since 1970, is held to coincide with the Bai Lungese New Year which brings joy and prosperity. It was organised by a 30 year old man named Chen Bin Ri who wanted to hold a party which accompanied Bai Lungese New Year. Rumours have been circulating that Mr Chen had been executed by ISB 7 years later. The event started off with 600 people attending the event, this year had reported an unprecedented number of participants of 20,000; although many do not take part in the infamous drinking game.

Often held inside a bar, anyone over 21 are eligible to enter the competition, although there are some cases of children as young as 6 taking part. Participants are encouraged to drink 3 bottles of Wújí and the first one to finish all 3 bottles wins 1,000,000 Da Dendrites (BL$10,000) in cash. Vomiting is permitted as it allows more alcohol to be consumed. Due to the risky nature of the game, many have died or have been severely poisoned in these contests.

The worst event occurred in 1990 when 79 people died of alcohol poisoning and 1,000 more poisoned.

Despite it's dubious and questionable content, ISB often will turn a blind eye on this event and there have been some reports of a few ISB officers participating in these games as well. Late dictator Chen Jong Sun is said to be a huge fan of this event although he often calls for ISB to cancel the event should it get too rowdy.

15 people, including the winner, has died at the scene while almost 500 were taken to the nearest hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning. At the time of publication, 12 more died in hospital.

5 people have been arrested by police and they are believed to be the driving force behind the event. All 5 deny murder or promoting anti social behaviour.

Attempts to have subsequent events banned are often met with huge hostility but Ms Yi has stated that she won't be put off by the riots and will win the trust of the public therefore banning the "grossly irresponsible contest for good".

Kobayashi Taro: I gave sleeping pills to friend of a relative but I did not use them to kill Yang Jie Jie.

Posted Image

Former Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro has admitted to giving sleeping pills to a friend of a relative but denies murdering prostitute Yang Jie Jie.

The 49 year old spoke about how he gave a bottle of paracetamol to friend of relative, Kong Bin Hua, to help with a headache back in December but failed to ask for them back. He confirmed that the brand (Pandalin) which he gave to Miss Kong is same one which is found in Miss Yang's apartment along with an injection needle found in her arm. He admitted that he did not realise that Kong had given them to another friend, which he did not recognise until recently. He told the judge that the bottle could have been his but did not rule out that it was dumped in the bin or the friend of a relative simply lost it.

However, Mr Kobayashi has stuck to his guns by denying the rape and murder of the 25 year old and has repeatedly insisted that her drug overdose was caused by herself. When asked where he was at the time of her death, he replied that he was in his office. Mr Kobayashi's lawyer also backed up his statement by showing video footage of the meeting which Mr Kobayashi attended, which was held on the same day when the rape happened and footage of Mr Kobayashi in his office at the death of Miss Yang's death.

While being escorted out by police, the father of Yang Jie Jie heckled Mr Kobayashi and threw a bucket of pigs blood, covering Mr Kobayashi with it. Roh Ming Lin, called Mr Kobayashi's defence "blood soaked lies" and reminded him that Yang Jie Jie's blood will "be bound to your skin for eternity...you can never wash the blood of your victim.."

Mr Roh was arrested by police and will be charged with aggravated assault. Despite receiving a 90 day probation for injuring Mr Kobayashi early this month, Mr Roh remains defiant in splashing Mr Kobayashi with blood and vows to perform similar stunts in the future until "justice is served".

BREAKING NEWS: Bai Lung hockey coach dies in hospital.

Posted Image

The Bai Lung National Ice Hockey coach has died at a hospital in Laneux, Kelssek.

Last week, Mr Kim was sent to hospital after two of his players allegedly assaulted him with their hockey sticks over an argument involving own goal scoring.

Kim Dong Wen was officially pronounced dead at 0951 of this morning by doctors at the Laneux Hospital as they monitored his condition closely but the 65 year old's condition worsened over the past week. Hours before doctors declared him dead, Mr Kim was being treated for an internal bleeding on his brain but finally succumbed to his injuries.

Quote:

"Due to the severity of the beating which was inflicted on Mr Kim, the internal bleeding in his brain is the final nail in the coffin which resulted in his death. We would like to apologise to Mr Kim's family but we have done our best to save him."

-Didier Reno M.D.

Local reaction to Mr Kim's death is somewhat muted, given the fact to his lack of celebrity status. However, Secretary of State Zhou Minlang expressed his condolences to the family of Mr Kim. He has appealed to the Kelssekian government to have the players involved in Mr Kim's assault be charged with murder.

Quote:

"This callous, brutal murder of a hard working individual is unacceptable. This is the man behind the driving force of the entire team and the moral booster and what happened here is that two of his players took exception to his way of running the team. I do not condone using violence to solve a situation and I hope they will be locked in a Kelssekian prison for a very, very, very long time."

-Zhou Minlang, Secretary of State

The Mounted Police Force has yet to make a decision whether to raise the original charges of aggravated assault to murder or maintain the original charge. Players Pak Chi Wu and Wang Ri Dang both deny murdering Mr Kim. Defenceman Mr Pak still claimed that Mr Kim has a history of heart attacks and has used this statement to prove his innocence. Mr Pak's statement is contradicted when Mr Wang claimed that Mr Kim tripped and fell on his head.

Chiba Seto: Go ahead, make my day, Mr Im.

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto (Pictured above) has challenged sacked cabinet member Richard Im to call a vote of no confidence sooner rather than later. The original ultimatum was that Mr Im was to give the 62 year old a chance to be held accountable for last weeks riot in Laneux, Kelssek which left several shops vandalised and ransacked by fans of the Bai Lung Ice Hockey team.

Mr Im gave Mr Chiba a chance to hold responsible for the riots by holding a televised statement and to resign voluntarily by 29th Feb. Mr Im has openly criticised Mr Chiba for not performing thorough background checks on all Bai Lungese visitors to Kelssek which he claimed, could've prevented the costly riots. He further justified his reason to call for a motion of no confidence on the part Japanese leader in the wake of losing his job. Mr Im felt that his sacking was an example of abuse of power as it was unjustified.

However Mr Chiba has delivered a riposte, claiming that a thorough background check would do very little to stop the riots by insisting that the majority of the visitors who took part in the riots had no prior criminal records. Mr Chiba has accused Mr Im of "cowardly bashing" him from behind with his "putrid and unverified claims" and has openly challenged Mr Im by setting the date to launch a vote of no confidence against him sooner.

Quote:

"It's a democratic country now, not some backwater dictatorship! He [Richard Im] does not need to dilly dally with deadlines and proceed with the vote [of no confidence]. The red tape behind a motion of no confidence takes merely hours to complete and a few colleagues and he got his wish. I would rather see him pass his challenge sooner rather than later..."

However, Mr Chiba remains adamant in refusing to accept responsibility for last weeks riots.

Quote:

"Mr Im has pointed his finger at my direction, automatically assuming that I was the ring leader behind last weeks riot at Laneux, Kelssek. He is implying that I've orchestrated the riots just to improve my overall image by using the carnage to pretend to make a public condemnation of the incident at the same time. My condemnation of last weeks riot is absolutely sincere. Quite frankly, I personally consider Mr Im's accusations silly at the least and liable at the most. It's his incredulous falsehood the reason why I removed him as a member of the cabinet."

Mr Im responded to Mr Chiba's challenge by commenting on how it is equally as undemocratic to call for a motion of no confidence earlier than the intended deadline. He claimed that the deadline was made in order to gave Mr Chiba enough time to make an apology which will remain at 29th Feb. Mr Im finally added that Mr Chiba is putting words in his mouth by listening to the tone of his speech first instead of the actual words. He has stated that he is not pointing his finger at Mr Chiba's director but believes that somebody should be held responsible for the riots and the leader of a country is the most viable option.

If the vast majority of Mr Chiba's cabinet voted against him, then he is forced to resign and is barred from taking the top job for a minimum of 4 years regardless of any election.

BREAKING NEWS: Secretary of Defence resigns from cabinet over Laneux riot row. Chiba Seto will remain firm on original statement.

Posted Image

The Secretary of Defence Ren Guó Chéng (Pictured above) has resigned from his position, the Chiba cabinet has confirmed today.

Speaking outside of the Presidential Office building in the capitial, Mr Ren has cited personality differences between former Secretary of the Interior Richard Im and acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto as the main reason behind his resignation. Since last week, Mr Im has clashed with Mr Chiba over an argument on who should be held accountable for the riots in Laneux, Kelssek last week. Mr Im called for Mr Chiba to step down and claim responsibility for the carnage at the same time but Mr Chiba refuses to listen to Mr Im's request.

In his speech, Mr Ren has compared the confrontation to a kindergarten's playground and has called for harmony between the two sides . Despite expressing resentment towards Mr Chiba, he offered his blessings to Mr Chiba to find a successor.

Quote:

"In the wake of a deadly riot which has created a more deadly aftermath or more specifically, the non-stop bombardment of back-stabbing language catapulted between the two camps [Chiba Seto and Richard Im] has proven to be unbearable to me and it has turned into a kindergarten's playground, sheer, brutal violence and no resolution. When I joined the cabinet, I was hoping to offer a peace of mind. Instead, animosity, bigotry and back stabbing were the core ingredient with the Chiba cabinet. That is not what I was envisioning then and now.  For this reason, I would like to formally announce that I will no longer serve under the Chiba cabinet effective as of today. It has been a difficult and intricate process whether or not not serve under Mr Chiba's government but now is the time to depart from this exclusive but raucous club. Very little has progressed from the so called Free Republic of Bai Lung. May I wish Mr Chiba the very best of luck finding another defence secretary."

-Ren Guó Chéng

He said that the inability for the two sides to reach an agreement has proven to be untenable to him. Mr Ren, 70, has delivered his letter of resignation to Mr Chiba in which he called "a great loss of a key player". Mr Chiba will find a replacement shortly like with the sacking of Mr Im on Saturday.

Despite expressing deep regret for last weeks carnage at Laneux, Kelssek, Mr Chiba has remained firm in his belief that he did not play a part in last Saturday's riot. He repeatedly asserted in his decision that checking all of the visitors to Kelssek will be impractical, ineffective and costly. Mr Chiba pointed out that the riots was provoked as a result of lack of education in Bai Lungese society.

Quote:

"I said this for the two hundred and sixtieth time...I did not play a part in the Laneux riots. Going around pointing fingers at my direction will do very little to solve the current crisis. It only results in digging a deeper hole for yourself and this is the case with Mr Im. We are not interested in looking for the scape goat, we are looking for the long term problems which cumulated in the conflict."

-Chiba Seto

Posted Image

Meanwhile, Mr Im (Pictured above) remains unconvinced in Mr Chiba's defence, insisting that the leader of the country which the rioters originate from, should claim responsibility for the riots and checking all passports would dramatically reduce the chances of a riot. Mr Chiba in turn, shrugged off Mr Im's comments by ignoring his warnings and publicly announcing a visit to Kelssek on the 5th of March to meet PM Pierre Gautain.

A freelance journalist claims to have obtained an alternative letter to Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain allegedly written by acting interim admin Chiba Seto (Pictured above), which contains racially offensive and sexually charged dialogue.

In the letter, Mr Chiba allegedly wrote that Mr Gautain is "a dumb, smelly, uncivilised frog who can't even run a colony of brown, paper bags for a nano second let alone a second..." as well as accusing him of getting involved in sex acts. He finished the letter by wishing that crazed Oldboy fan Jang Ri Wen really did carry out his plan of beheading Mr Gautain and presented his severed head live on tv.

The freelance journalist, who wishes not to be named, has claimed that Mr Chiba loves to write alternative letters to people because of his hatred of the human race in general. He also claimed that he found the letter in a rubbish bin, directly outside of the presidential office building after tripping on a takeaway bag. The unnamed journalist further added that Mr Chiba was to sent Mr Gautain a parcel containing Mr Chiba's own feces to add insult to injury but had to ditch the plan when the parcel became soggy too quickly.

Mr Chiba was quick to deny that the letter was actually written by him nor did he plan to send feces. The 62 year old accused the anonymous reporter of delivering a "political cheap shot to depose me from office quickly" by forging his hand writing to pass it off as his letter and crumpled it to pass it off as if he threw it in the trash bin.

Despite Mr Chiba's denial, a mixture of protests have taken place in the capital. Some expressed outrage to the 62 year old for writing such explicit language while others showed their support of Mr Chiba for the very same reason.

Junior cabinet member wants to pass motion of no confidence earlier than expected: "Mr Chiba's leadership is a liability to entire government."

Posted Image

The political turmoil over the riots in Laneux, Kelssek over a week ago intensifies as the junior Secretary of the Treasury has called for a motion of no confidence on acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto at a much earlier date than anticipated, going against sacked member Richard Im's original deadline of 28th Feb.

Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has launched a viciously scathing statement towards the part Japanese acting leader in a BLCTV News exclusive interview. The 47 year old lawyer has accused Mr Chiba of deliberately grabbing political power for his own needs and allegedly shows little concern for the general public. He even went as far as to compare Mr Chiba to the late dictator Chen Jong Sun but with a different name. At the same time, he mildly criticised sacked Secretary of the Interior Richard Im for not passing the vote at a much earlier date.

Quote:

"It is my duty to denounce this arrogant, de-shelved, greedy, nonsensical and selfish old man for the public of the Free Republic of Bai Lung. The real reason why he is the incumbent leader of this country is because he back stabbed his colleagues into thinking he will be caretaker and pretending to gain the trust of his colleagues when in reality, he's scoffing the large political cake in which he can't devour and one day, he'll explode. His leadership is a liability to our entire government and the sooner we get him kicked out, the better for the people of Bai Lung. His incompetent and berserk actions are retroactively undermining the democratic process of Bai Lung. He isn't doing this by accident, it's planned and fulfilling his destiny. There was a man who did something identical. That man is Chen Jong Sun, dictator of this country for over 4 decades. That is what Chiba is turning into. He's Chen Jong Sun under a different name. [Richard] Im could've scraped the deadline and passed the vote of no confidence on the day he said would hold one."

He declared that Mr Chiba was responsible for the riots in Laneux, Kelssek from the very beginning and was victimising himself because of his part Japanese ancestry.

Quote:

"He is the circus leader in last weeks riots. He actually orchestrated the attack on several Japanese restaurant so that he can victimise himself through this way. I'm sorry, but I can see that it was staged from a light year away. He wants to cash in on his co-ordinated attack on a Kelssekian city by making a false apology to [Pierre] Gautain and therefore, give himself an advantage in which nobody can best. The advantage? More votes and increased approval ratings! It's the staple ingredient for a king sized politician like him! Guess what? His attempts to gain the former or the latter has failed miserably! Heck, even a toddler can figure out the clues. He's the weakest link and I bid him farewell when his sand timer runs out...

He commented on Mr Chiba's treatment of the cabinet by comparing himself to feces.

Quote:

"He treating us like feces. He would be more than happy to flush us down the political toilet and crap out some more men or ladies to take our place. He's planning to turn Bai Lung into the horrific regime of Chen Jong Sun. His vision is to bring back the dark and vile ages of the so call Great Eternal Leader...Mr Chiba wants to be the new Great Eternal Leader..."

Currently, junior members of the cabinet are not permitted to pass a motion of no confidence against the interim admin in accordance to the Bai Lung constitution. According to Mr Ding, he has attempted to circumvent this problem by asking Secretary of the Treasure Li An Ying to call a vote of no confidence on behalf of Mr Ding but has reportedly turned down the chance to vote against Mr Chiba.

Mr Chiba has sarcastically applauded Mr Ding's honesty in wanting to hold a vote of no confidence early and has responded to this proposal by attempting to sack Mr Ding for insubordinate behaviour. However, his powers were over-rided by the cabinet. Secretary of Education Chen Yu Kai claimed that Mr Chiba is unnecessarily firing members of the cabinet on personal grounds as was the case in Mr Ding's statement.

The cabinet chose to reserve a decision made by Mr Chiba to sack Mr Im but the latter declined to re-join the cabinet.

Marcel Chen is extradited to Kelssek and will face charges of assault.

Posted Image

Controversial film director Marcel Chen has been extradited to Kelssek by the Central Dannistrian government and will be officially charged by the Kelssekian Mounted Police Force, a Dannistrian MP has confirmed. At 1530 hours today, Mr Chen was escorted by police were he will be detained at the nearest police station.

The openly gay 45 year old has been sent to the Kirkenes were he will be tried for allegedly assaulting a man at a bar in the Kelssekian capita which occurred in March last year. Originally deported from Kelssek for the offence, Mr Chen was sent back to the country after the original punishment was seen as too lenient.

According to the victim, Victor Leon Lily (aged 55), a native Kirkenes businessman, claimed that he was head butted by the Dannistrian born Bai Lungese film maker after an argument between the two. Mr Lily was discussing about the merits of Mr Chen's film Blood Paw, concluding that it lacked any substance. Mr Lily recalled on how Mr Chen raised his fist angrily, gritted his teeth and head butted him to the ground. Mr Lily was sent to hospital and treated for nose injury.

Mr Chen vehemently denies assaulting Mr Lily. The Blood Paw film maker claimed that Lily was the one who delivered the head butt and ended up causing injury to himself. Mr Chen further added that Mr Lily was drinking the whole time and was shouting a torrent of abuse at his face. Chen confirmed that Lily did criticise his film Blood Paw but was being stentorian about it.

Li An Ying: The Chiba cabinet must not resort to infighting.

Posted Image

The secretary of the treasury Li An Ying (Pictured above) has warned the entire cabinet that the constant infighting that has been witnessed in recent weeks will undermine the stability of the country and defeat the purpose of establishing a cabinet.

Mr Li's grave concerns has become evident when Mr Chiba was asked to claim responsibility by two of his colleagues for a riot in Laneux, Kelssek on last saturday and to step down as interim admin. Richard Im and Stephen T. Ding have accused him for refusing to listen to their advices and have called for a vote of no confidence against him. Mr Li has slammed the idea of using a scapegoat to solve a long term problem. He pointed out that it would only create more hatred and promote even more blood thirsty acts of violence.

Quote:

"I find the recent conflict with Richard Im, Stephen T. Ding and Chiba Seto very disconcerting and disturbing. Yes, the riots in Laneux were an atrocious incident. Yes, it is wrong to smash private and public property at all. Yes, it is wrong to shout racist slurs at rival fans. But we do not need to point our fingers and blame the incident entirely on one person. We must not be narrow-minded and we have to carefully examine the nature of the riot. I agree with Mr Chiba on this one, the riot was not caused by one man but it was caused by a chain of events which cumulated in the intense riots. Blaming on one person will not make the problem go away in a blink, it creates another problem. It creates and glorifies more blood thirsty acts of violence.

A life long pacifist and Buddhist, Mr Li has appealed for both sides to reach an agreement peacefully and to focus on the upcoming elections on 10th March. He also condemned both camps for resorting to "childish language" and making up stories to make the other look bad.

Quote:

"Mr Chiba's sacking of a member of the cabinet is unjustified but at the same time, blaming Mr Chiba for being the leader is downright absurd. What I would like to see is both camps stop the false accusations, the unnecessary back stabbing and finger pointing. We must work together to keep our inner demons from emerging out of our egos i.e. we shout insulting epithets. This is not how we deal with conflicts these days. We need to put down our hatred for each other, sit down at the negotiation table and engage in peaceful, non-demeaning dialogue. Our job as a fully democratic government, is to united as one rather than divide the nation just like with the problems the Dannistrians are experiencing in the past 2 decades. Together we can put our problems at bay."

When Mr Li was asked who will he side, he replied that he will not show any bias for either camp and intends to serve as a mediator. He pointed out that all conflicts can be resolved in one form or another, no matter how problematic.

Quote:

"I will act as the moderator when both sides head to the negotiation tables and talk. I will not side favours with either camp. It is my duty to resolve such petty disputes not only for my benefit, but for the benefit of the entire government. Even the most difficult of problems can and will be solved through lengthy deliberations. The way I see the world, any catch 22 can be solved in one form or another."

Stephen T. Ding has criticised Mr Li for being passive towards the row and has pressured Mr Li to side with him or with Mr Chiba. Meanwhile, sacked cabinet member Richard Im, stuck to his original deadline to submit his vote of confidence on the 29th February.

Chiba Seto: I'll stick with schedule and ignore all ultimatums.

Despite amid controversy with the aftermath of the Laneux riots, Chiba Seto has vowed to resume work as normal and will not reschedule his visit to Kelssek.

The 62 year old has asserted BLCTV News that the current situation in the Presidential Office building will have no affect in his scheduled visits, including a 2 day visit to Kelssek on the 5th March to discuss bilateral relations between the two. Mr Chiba insisted that the election will go ahead on the 10th March.

Quote:

"All the ultimatums, all the back stabbing, all the pointing fingers at each other, I'll simply stick with my guns by saying no to all subsequent ultimatums and demands. I won't be budging any time soon. There will be no alterations of any kind. My visit to Kelssek will go as planned, the upcoming election back home will go as planned..."

He defended his comment on Richard Im's plea as "pathetic" as well as his subsequent sacking. He claimed that his comments were more of a liability to the entire cabinet rather than personal.

Mr Chiba ended the day by engaging in a phone will Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain.

Racist video shocks nation of Dannistaan. Several students face charges of criminal acts.

Posted Image

Several Bai Lungese students have been arrested by police after allegedly forcing 3 elderly Dannistrian University staff to eat food that has been urinated and defecated on.

A video has emerged which appears to show the students taunting the 3 elderly workers by instructing them to drink beer and perform athletic tasks.

The final part of the video is the one that has caused an outrage in the country. The three University of For'af employees were forced to eat food which has been urinated and defacted on. Several of the students repeatedly shouted racial epithets at them, including degrading names like "coffee stained b@stards", "moronic [black] chappies" and "coal face freaks" as they watched the workers eat the food. They were also seen vomiting after eating the contaminated food while several students allegedly laughed, ejaculated and urinated on their faces. One of the students allegedly yelled: "I didn't tell you to stop eating, you dumb, filthy black chappies! Keep eating!"

At one point, one of the students grabbed one of the employees and used his face to wipe the vomit left on the floor and forced him to eat the student's own feces. Many of the students allegedly chanted out "Free Bai Lung! Free Bai Lung! Death to the chappies!".

The rector at the university has condemned the video, calling it the most degrading and prejudiced crimes he has ever seen. He has placed a firm stance on racial intolerance. He claims that some of them are current or former students of at the university, he confirmed.

The video was reportedly recorded in protest at moves to integrate Bai Lungese and Dannistrian students at the same residences at the University of For'af.

Students and staff joined a protest march at the campus in For'af, and student groups say they are now planning to call statewide anti-racism demonstrations.

However, there have been early reports of race riots occurring the BL town areas in For'af. Thousands of Bai Lungese immigrants are fleeing across the border to North Dannistaan. There has been reports of Bai Lungese immigrants fleeing back to their home country by boat and plane.

Richard Im starts paperwork to oust incumbent Interim Admin Chiba Seto.

Posted Image

Sacked cabinet member Richard Im (Pictured above) has officially started filling his paperwork to depose acting interim admin Chiba Seto.

The 50 year old Cantonese speaking Bai Lungese politician has asked his part-Japanese counterpart to accept responsibility over a destructive riot in Laneux, Kelssek 2 weeks ago which has left several restaurants and bars vandalised. Mr Im has also called for Mr Chiba to resign from the top job by 29th Feb.

Despite repeated requests, Mr Chiba has vehemently denied starting the riot on purpose. He has also defended himself consistently by insisting that performing background checks would do very little to stop the incident. Mr Im's challenge has led to his sacking by Mr Chiba, something heavily criticised by both his colleagues and the public.

The Laneux riot is widely believed to have caused a chain reaction within the Chiba cabinet. In addition to Mr Im's criticism of Mr Chiba, former Secretary of Defence Ren Guó Chéng left his job after finding the row untenable. He handed his letter of resignation on the same day.

A day after Mr Ren's resignation, junior secretary of treasury Stephen T. Ding has joined in the row by launching a scathing attack on Mr Chiba by accusing him of orchestrating the riot and even went as far as to compare him to late dictator Chen Jong Sun. Mr Chiba also denies this and attempted to sack Mr Ding but was over-ruled by his cabinet, calling the attempted sacking "unjustified."

Mr Im was said to be in "huge disappointment" when Mr Chiba failed to give a statement claiming responsibility for the riot by 29th Feb and has started writing all the paperwork to start a vote of no confidence on Mr Chiba. Other members such as Mr Ding is widely expected to put his name forward. If sucessful

Mr Chiba (Pictured above) has released another statement to local media, remaining firm on his original claims. He also announces that his trip to Kelssek to meet PM Pierre Gautain on the 5th of March will not be disrupted.

Hundreds die in For'af riot after racist video is shown to public.

Several hundreds of Bai Lungese immigrants have died in the intense rioting in the East Dannistrian capital For'af.

The riot was sparked when a video was circulating around the internet showing several Bai Lungese students bullying 3 elderly Dannistrian University of For'af employees by forcing them to eat contaminated food and shouting out racist language at their faces.

The video was allegedly made in protest of the rector attempting to integrate the two races in the same campuses.

Riots have affected nearly all parts of the city, leaving very few buildings unaffected by the intense rioting. Several shops have been looted and most of BL town set on fire by the local population. Many innocent Bai Lungese immigrants have been brutally murdered by extremist East Dannistrians. Dannistrian media reported that the victims have been beaten, hacked, shot or set on fire.

As a result of the riots, over 90% of the Bai Lungese population living in the capital have fled to Bai Lung as they feared for their lives while others have migrated to other countries. The remaining Bai Lungese have barricaded themselves in their homes, fearing that reprisal attacks will be made against them.

Acting Interim Admin, Chiba Seto has flown to Dannistaan to meet Dannistrian PM P'aanil F'orrlason-Smith to help deal with today's riots. He has joined Mr F'orrlason-Smith in condemning the rioting calling it "grievously unacceptable".

Mr Chiba will fly back to Bai Lung on Monday to prepare his visit to Kelssek.

Marcel Chen sues BLCTV News for false info: I was charged already.

Controversial film director Marcel Chen has become the latest person to sue BLCTV News over incorrect information.

The 45 year old claimed that BLCTV News reported that he was extradited to Kelssek to face a charge that had been placed on him last year over a brawl in a Neorvins pub. The Blood Paw director, speaking from Nordu Dannistra city, claimed that BLCTV News are attempting to tarnish his reputation by "showing coverage of my bad side "

Quote:

"The Kelssek government was cool about allowing me to re-entering their country and if I attempt to find employment, it's going to be quite difficult for me because of my criminal record and reputation. They never said that I should go to jail."

BLCTV News could be fined BL$5,000,000 if found guilty of negligence and for giving misleading information.

Stephen T. Ding: I will run for Interim Admin Election. Ling Wei drops out of race.

Posted Image

Junior secretary of the treasure has formally announced that he will run for the Interim Admin elections on 10th March.

Speaking at the community centre in Biu Wok, Mr Ding has surprised political spectators by throwing his hat into the ring. He claims that his nomination will be a brand new chapter for the Free Republic of Bai Lung. He also promises an environmentally friendly country, something partly ignore by incumbent Chiba Seto.

Quote:

"Politics, it's too complex. Bureaucracy with in politics, it's time wasting and a money burner. Mismanagement within politics, it's the product of the former two when progress does not come through. This is the problem of Chiba Seto. He wants us all to be sitting down on a desk, writing away on a law that will not pass through anyways. It's a waste of time for all of us and a waste of money because we need to purchase more paper and it's environmentally hostile because of the number of trees which need to be cut down to make the paper. If you elect me on the 10th of March, I'll deliver the needs of the many."

-Stephen T. Ding

Mr Ding was criticised by Mr Chiba for being last minute and only wants the top job based on face value.

Quote:

"He's in it for the title, not for the interest of the public. His proposals are simply unrealistic in proportion to my time line. Somehow, he has managed to garner huge attention with his stentorian voice. His last minute attempts to get the top job simply won't do. All of us had planned on getting the top job months before we announced it officially."

-Chiba Seto

In related news, Interim Admin candidate Ling Wei (Pictured above) has officially announced that he will drop out of the race citing lack of funds to run his campaign. 63 year old Ling thanked his team for their efforts and wishes the next elected leader the best of luck. When asked who will he support, he enthusiastically replied "Chiba Seto".

Jury to decide on Kobayashi trial.

The jury is to make a verdict on the trial of shamed Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro shortly.

49 year old Kobayashi was suspended from the cabinet and was arrested in September for allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman and injected hard drugs into her. Video footage showing Mr Kobayashi allegedly committing the acts was released by Free Bai Lung, a terrorist orginisation which took several people hostage in August last year.

Despite this, Mr Kobayashi has stridently denied raping 25 year old Yang Jie Jie nor met her in the first place. She was found dead in her apartment in December last year. Mr Kobayashi stuck by his alibi throughout the hearing and has presented evidence of his whereabouts but is often met with condemnation from Yang's family.

Under the Bai Lung constitution, none of the jurors are permitted to discuss about the matter and all information can not be disclosed for 99 years after the trial is finished in accordance to the Bai Lung Secrets Act 2007 (Signed by Kim Ki Moon 30th June 2007, effective 2nd February 2008).

Chiba Seto returns from Dannistaan. Dannistrian soldiers attacked by Bai Lungese.

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto (Pictured above left, shaking hands with Ling Wei) has returned from his visit in Dannistaan and is preparing to make his historic visit to Kelssek, making him the first Bai Lungese leader to visit the country since King Qing Jia Dong visited Kelssek in 1933. Mr Chiba jokingly referred to the trip as "long overdue by 3/4 of a century". He also jokingly mentioned about the Bai Lungese children living in Kelssek at the time grew up watching their king visit the country and would like to meet them.

However, his comments are met with huge criticisms from naturalised Kelssekian citizens. They claimed that his comments have defamed the king and the children who watched him on tv at the time.

Quote:

"He should be careful with that mouth of his. His comments are deeply offensive to the ears of many Bai Lungese. The next time he gives a comment of similar type, he'll be without a job before he can utter 'I'm sorry'.

-Teresa Yin Chong

Chiba Seto will make a visit to Kelssek on the 5th March to hold talks with his Kelssekian counterpart Pierre Gautain.

In related news, 15 Dannistrian soldiers have been injured by a mob of civilians in the village of Ban Bin Bao, just located 2 miles south of Li Mei. The attacks on the soldiers is widely believed to be retaliatory attacks in response to the race riot in For'af, which has left 1,800 Bai Lungese residents dead.

Dannistrian General Duh'rahn N'outah has sent extra troops to the area and the mob was dispersed less than an hour later.

Bai Lung Police Force puzzled over missing street signs.

Police are asking for citizens to come forward and give information for the whereabouts of 20 different street signs.

Since mid February, several Sing Ren residents have been left baffled after a number of street signs have been removed from the buildings they were attached to. Notable streets signs that were taken by the unknown thief include Zhang Guo Lane, Min Guo Avenue and Kuo Min Tang Street.

Police have claimed that all the street signs stolen in Sing Ren began with Guo/Kuo but they ruled out that it was the sole reason behind the theft.

A man had been briefly been held in custody for the suspected theft of the street signs but was released shortly due to lack of evidence.

Chiba Seto arrives in Kelssek. Overseas Bai Lungese jeer at his arrival.

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has arrived in Kelssek, making him the first Bai Lungese leader to visit the country in 75 years. The last visit was made by King Qing Jia Dong when he took a boat to Kelssek while on holiday in summer 1933.

Kelssek Prime Minister Pierre Gautain (Pictured above) greeted each other for the first time at 1130 EPT today. Mr Chiba will tour the country for the next 3 days and hold talks about bilateral relations. Other issues expected to be discussed include paying the damages caused by Bai Lungese rioters in Laneux and the influx of Bai Lungese immigrants, who fled from For'af, East Dannistaan from a deadly race riot which has now left 2,539 dead.

Mr Chiba's reception is not welcoming. Several naturalised Bai Lungese citizens have gathered outside the parliament to protest against the 62 year old. Many claimed that he planned the Laneux riots and attempted to cover it up by condemning the protesters and calling for them to be punished severely. As Mr Chiba entered the parliament, there was array of jeering and many chanted out "Chiba, au chômage!" and/or "Sack Chiba Seto!" at his direction.

Mr Chiba has briefly told KBC News that he will not resign despite increasing pressure and he will serve two full terms as interim admin in accordance to the Bai Lungese constitution which states that an Interim Admin can only serve two consecutive terms of four years.

Chiba Seto will extend visit date by additional 2 days. Chiba and Kelssek PM reach an agreement to deploy Kelssekian troops in Bai Lung.

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has announced that he will extend his tour of Kelssek to Monday evening, a 2 day extension from the original leaving date of tomorrow evening.

Mr Chiba claims that he finds the place "too damn enjoyable" and will use this time to greet locals from the Laneux metropolitan area. He also told local and international media that a visit to Kirkenes can be achieved with in those 2 extra days.

Mr Chiba held talks with his Kelssekian counterpart, Prime Minister Pierre Gautain about the relations of the 2 countries. Within 2 days of talks, both have reached an agreement on various issues. Mr Chiba approved to deployment of Kelssekian troops in the Bai Lung mainland while Mr Gautain has accepted the BL$200 million in reparations for the riot in Laneux.

Quote:

"We have talked about the possibility of sending troops to Bai Lung and I was pretty cool about it. Extra troops means extra aid and this in turn equals a step closer to democracy in Bai Lungese society. They could learn from their international counterparts and the arrival of different nationalities will bridge the gap between them."

-Chiba Seto

Other issues approved by both camps include giving the newly arrived Bai Lungese immigrants citizenship and the possibility of establishing an embassy in both countries. Mr Chiba called this the first steps to helping and contributing to the international community.

Mr Gautain has defended Mr Chiba repeatedly by not blaming him solely for the Laneux riots which has left several LGBT and Japanese establishments partly destroyed. He also agreed with Mr Chiba in that the rioters are only a minority of the entire race. However, Mr Gautain has denied that he offered to send troops to Bai Lung.

Quote:

"No, I did not make the offer, but instead it is Mr. Chiba who has asked for this help and I think we have a responsibility to help them."

-Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain

At the end of day 2 of the tour, Mr Chiba presented a novelty cheque of BL$200 million to Mr Gautain, who characterised the gift as gracious. Mr Chiba in turn, was presented a rare 1946 bottle of Dom Pérignon.

Despite the warm reception by Kelssekian residents, Mr Chiba has been sharply criticised by his own people in Bai Lung for a use of mild language. One viewer of BLCTV News has referred to Mr Chiba as "the most foul mouthed person I have ever came across."

A few members of Mr Chiba's cabinet have also accused Mr Chiba by claiming he is over indulging himself by spending more time on holiday and less on work. Sacked member Richard Im claims that he has enough names put forward to oust Mr Chiba.

Several houses have been leveled by a group of East Dannistrian gang members with improvised mortar shells after they claimed that many of them housed Bai Lungese. In another case, an all Bai Lungese nursery school had to demolished after gangs of youths destroyed chunks of the building with improvised mortar shells as well. In almost all mortar attacks, gangs used chains and grapeshot to concoct a deadly improvised explosives.

A gang member, who goes under the alias of Doc Dawg Dawgz, told East Dannstrian media his extremely racist views about the Bai Lungese community.

Quote:

"Yo yo, ma n***az, I want them Ba'arl Els out now. The more we killed them JAMF, the better. They breed like rats and we kill the mofo rats. I want a free East Dannistaan and none of them ching chongs. I wanna defend ma right to bear arms and defend ma ass from these mofos. I want no part of my homeys if they love the white Chinamens. They be rice lovers..."

In the western part of For'af, 580 people have been killed in the mortar blasts alone, which added the total to 4,356 Bai Lungese killed. Those who have attempted to escape from the blasts have been hacked or shot to death.

The use of mortar shells to kill Bai Lungese is likely to have been a violent response to the Dannistrian army's use of Armoured Core mechs. So far, 2 soldiers have died in the mortar blasts. Despite this, the Dannistrian army have stepped up patrols.

Speaking from Neorvins, Chiba Seto has called for the riots to stop sooner rather than later and appeal to both Bai Lungese and Dannistrian communities to reconcile with each other in peace.

BREAKING NEWS: Chiba Seto assaulted by angry group in Kelssek airport. Several Bai Lungese cheer with glee.

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has been sent to hospital for treatment after a group of disgruntled overseas Bai Lungese attacked him in Burnaby, Kelssek.

Mr Chiba was on a 6 day visit to Kelssek and met with Kelssek Prime Minister Pierre Gautain were they held 2 days of talks. At the end of the meeting, Mr Chiba gave Mr Gautain a cheque of BL$200 million for “good causes”. Mr Chiba toured around the country and met with various locals. The reception was welcoming until his visit to Burnaby International Airport, the very same place were a Bai Lungese immigrant died in the hands of police. Mr Chiba intended to spend time shopping there.

According to several eyewitnesses, a group of 5 men, who are naturalised Kelssekian citizens, had approached him and started an altercation with the 62 year old. The group allegedly yelled racial slurs at Mr Chiba and openly denounced him as the leader of Bai Lung. One witness told BLCTV News that one or two of the group members allegedly spat on Mr Chiba’s shoes to openly insult him. The argument continued on for several minutes as the group insult Mr Chiba on the basis of his Japanese background. Mr Chiba in turn attempted to diffuse the situation by proposing a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Depute Interim Admin Kurosawa Aya stepped in and warned the group sternly to leave Mr Chiba alone. The group became further agitated and one of them head butted Mr Chiba.

Several of Mr Chiba’s own bodyguards intervened but their efforts to save him have been hampered as the other group members took them as well as Mr Chiba’s colleagues. A photograph taken by a passer-by show 2 of the 5 people involved in the brawl. The youth, later identified as 22 year old Zhou Hua San allegedly slapped Ms Kurosawa, giving her a bruised right cheek and attempted to murder Chiba Seto by strangling him with his own neck tie.

The brawl didn’t end there. Li Yi Sung, a bodyguard of Mr Chiba managed to prevent Mr Zhou from successfully strangling Mr Chiba by performing a restraining manoeuvre. Mr Zhou did however, counterattacked the 55 year old by head butting him, gouging him in the eyes and biting part of his left ear. Mr Li did however used the same restraining manoeuvre on Mr Zhou again and successfully incapacitated him until Kelssekian police arrived at the scene and arrested the trouble makers. In addition to Zhou Hua San, police has identified the group as 24 year old Zhou Hua Jin, 49 year old Zhou Min Tao, 52 year old Wu Bin Lung and 87 year old Shi Lai Song. According to police, all the men have been analysed with high levels of alcohol in their body which suggest they may have been drinking prior to the incident. Police will determine what charges each individual should receive.

10 people have been sent to hospital for injuries, including Mr Chiba who was treated for a fractured left index finger, a fractured nasal bone and a strangulation wound. Doctors have assured that Mr Chiba’s fractures aren’t serious and were quick enough to treat the injuries as they were in the early stages. Mr Li, however, requires surgery for his partly severed ear and will not be discharged from hospital immediately.

Ms Kurosawa called the group “barbaric” and has appealed to the Kelssekian government not to give them a lenient sentence.

Quote:

”That attack could’ve been an assassination. Why should 5 men be allowed to walk away with grievous bodily harm if they tried to murder a high ranking figure of authority? I know this incident is out of Bai Lungese jurisdiction but I hope the Kelssekian government give them a heavy sentence because their acts of violence is simply barbaric.“

-Kurosawa Aya

Prime Minister Pierre Gautain has yet to make a statement about the incident at the time of publication.

In related news, groups of Chiba’s critics in Pyongjing cheered with glee when reports of his injuries reached Bai Lung itself. Several protesters burned effigies of Mr Chiba and chanted out anti-Japanese slogans near the Presidential Office building. Despite being a strident critic of Mr Chiba, junior secretary of the treasury Stephen T. Ding has condemned the anti-Japanese protests and has referred to them as “going too far”.

Marcel Chen could walk away with BL$10 million if BLCTV News libel case rules in favour of him.

Controversial film director Marcel Chen could walk away with double the amount of the fine which BLCTV News has to pay if the case rules in favour of him.

Chen, 45, claimed that the latest article which reported that he was extradited to Kelssek to face charges of assault was misleading and defamatory. The Blood Paw director also accused BLCTV News of making extensive coverage of him. Head of BLCTV Wen Ki Wei has denied that he is interested in talking about the openly gay film maker, insisting that BLCTV covers all celebs from different parts of the world.

Quote:

”It is for the interest of the public to learn about new reports about the most hip celebs in recent times. [Marcel] Chen is one of these people but we do more than make coverage about him. There’s superstar athlete Kevin Wei for example.

-Wen Ki Wei

Chen vs BLCTV case will start on 25th March.

BREAKING NEWS: Kobayashi Taro is found guilty of rape. Former Interim Admin gets 35 years in prison.

Posted Image

Former Interim Admin Kobayash Taro (Pictured above) has been found guilty of raping a young woman in the streets of Pyongjing.

In a jury of 11 people, the verdict has overwhelmingly voted in favour of the family victim over Mr Kobayashi and he will serve the minimum sentence of 35 years. Although the maximum punishment for rape is 25 years, Judge Zhu Di has stated the extra 10 years is for perverting the courts of justice by giving false information. Ms Zhu has stated that minutes published at the time of Yang's rape are fake due to the age of the ink and paper and therefore concluded that the writings are too recent.

Back in October last year, the terrorist group Free Bai Lung has released a shocking video showing the 49 year old sexually assaulting 25 year old Yang Jie Jie. The video also showed the man giving sexually charged dialogue at his victim. Miss Yang survived the ordeal but later committed suicide in her flat by overdosing on heroin. The jury concluded that the rapist featured in the video is Mr Kobayashi himself despite repeatedly denying meeting the girl.

Due to the lack of evidence which suggest Mr Kobayashi played a part in Miss Yang's death, he will not face the death penalty, which continues to be used in practice. Despite this, Yang's father, Roh Ming Lin, has denounced Mr Kobayashi for his actions.

Quote:

"Justice has been served and the case put to rest for Jie Jie. This man [Kobayashi] is a murderous, drug crazed, sex beast who should serve [the jail sentence] longer than the entire reign of the 3 dynasties. He will never be released and see daylight again. Not after what he did to my sweet, lovely, benevolent daughter. This egotisical maniac will serve every last second of his life in that confined room.

-Roh Ming Lin"

Several mobs of protesters attempted to stone the 49 year old as he was taken to the police van where he will serve his sentence in jail. Several rioters chanted out "Down with Kobayashi, Down with Chiba, Down with the J@ps!" as police attempt to extinguish the riots.

Chiba Seto to press charges on racially motivated assault.

As an act of expressing zero tolerance, acting Interim admin Chiba Seto has announced his intentions to press charges against the mob who assaulted him on Sunday.

Returning to Bai Lung with minor injuries, Mr Chiba has placed a firm stance to those who use violence against politicians. Spending a week long tour in Kelssek to meet with various locals including Prime Minister Pierre Gautain, a group of 5 men allegedly shouted racial epithets at Mr Chiba at Burnaby International Airport before engaging in a brutal attack at the 62 year old. All 5 suspects have been detained by the police, pending charges. Meanwhile, Mr Chiba has called for the 5 men who attacked him to be punished severely.

This is not the first time an Interim Admin has faced such a brutal ordeal. Many commentators have dubbed the role of the Interim Admin "The Most Dangerous Job in Bai Lung".

In June last year, the Presidential Office building had to be evacuated temporally when a man entered the premises soaked in gasoline and threatening to burn himself along with late Wang Bin. The crisis came to an end when the Dannistrian army shot him dead.

In the following month, Kim Ki Moon was allegedly poisoned by rival Yao Ma. Both died in August. The former succumbed to the poison and latter hanging himself while detained by police.

In August of that year, Li An Ying was the subject of an assassination attempt when a man entered the podium and tried to shoot Mr Li but the gun jammed at a critical moment. The following week, Li was the subject of another assassination plot when a man entered the lobby hall where Mr Li held a press conference, and attacked Mr Li with a pipe.

In September, former Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro was stabbed repeatedly by a crazed man while holding a speech in the Pyongjing City Hall.

Acting Interim Admin Li An Ying survived a third assassination attempt when a bomb exploded in the city centre of Qing Qing. The explosion took place north of the where Mr Li was staying.

In related news, junior secretary of the treasury Stephen T. Ding has been questioned by police for allegedly writing a memo to Mr Chiba, threatening to pour hot water on his face if he did not resign. Mr Ding denies writing such a memo and claims that it was taken out of context.

BREAKING NEWS: Chiba Seto is removed from office after losing vote of confidence. "I will stand by original statement to the very end."

Posted Image

Former Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has lost his bid to remain as Interim Admin of Bai Lung, BLCTV News has confirmed today.

At 1245 today, the motion to oust Mr Chiba from power was passed through successfully by a large majority. 68% of his entire cabinet are reported to have been unsatisfied with his leadership and have vote against him. The cabinet have claimed that Mr Chiba's handling of the Laneux riot in Kelssek last month is the main reason why Mr Chiba should be removed from power. Notable defenders of Mr Chiba include deputy Kurosawa Aya and Secretary of Labour Sanada Miyuki, who have praised Mr Chiba for his efforts.

Secretary of the treasury Li An Ying is reportedly the only person to abstain from from the vote. In an interview with Mr Li, he explains why:

Quote:

"I openly disapprove of these votes as they are a childish way to through somebody out of power. What I would like to do is to mediate the situation and solve all petty disputes without resorting to being down and dirty about it. That is why I chose not to cast my vote.

-Li An Ying

The former interim admin was given an hour to pack up his gear, relinquish the baton of exalted ceremonies (an item given to the interim admin) and leave the premises. Various media have spent the next few hours waiting for a statement from the 62 year old. At 1645, Mr Chiba left his place of residency to give a statement. He has defended his actions and at the same time, congratulated replacement interim admin Richard Im.

Quote:

"It's a predicament I ultimately did not expect and welcome. I believed my actions by claiming no responsibility for the Laneux riot are purely justified and I see absolutely no reason to change from that. I've done nothing wrong and therefore I stand by my original statement to the very end. I offer my blessings to Richard Im. May he succeed as a better interim admin than me and he will continue carrying the baton of exalted ceremonies and carry it to the path to democracy."

-Chiba Seto

Other members of his cabinet gave their reaction to Mr Chiba's ousting. Junior secretary of the treasury, Stephen T. Ding was enthusiastic about the departure of Mr Chiba.

Quote:

"Mr Chiba could've chose the option of leaving the top office the easy way [voluntary resignation] but being a downright stubborn person he is, he chose to be booted out the hard and painful way and he certainly paid the price for that. I'll be keeping my name for the upcoming interim admin elections and if elected, I can convict Mr Chiba for failing to accept responsibility for the Laneux riots last month. The riots are a heinous crime and we need to find the source of the problem. Mr Chiba failed to conduct background checks on the people and hence why they ran amok. It's simple and anyone with common sense can comprehend that."

-Stephen T. Ding

Chiba Seto is reported to be returning to Kelssek to prosecute the 5 men who assaulted him earlier this week at Burnaby Internation Airport.

Richard Im assumes position of Interim Admin. "I will change constitution".

Posted Image

After the forced removal of former acting interim admin Chiba Seto, sacked member Richard Im has taken the position of acting interim admin with the majority of the cabinet giving their approval.

Speaking outside the presidential office building in the capital, Mr Im has promised to radically reform the government of Bai Lung by adding separate executive, legislative and judicial branches, calling it easier to maintain over the current system.

Quote:

"The executive branch will consist of a president, who will be elected by a popular vote for a pair of four year terms. The president of Bai Lung will appoint the prime minister with approval of the National Assembly, as well as members of the cabinet.

The National Assembly of Bai Lung will form the legislative branch. Every 4 years, 299 members will be elected by the people of Bai Lung. Of that 299, 243 members will be elected first by the post and 56 members by proportional representation.

A judicial branch will enforce the laws we pass and ensure it does not conflict with what we pass. The Supreme court is our highest judiciary body, whose justices are appointed by the president with the consent of the National Assembly. We also plan to include a Constitutional court who will oversee question constitutionality"

Mr Im will also announce reversing a few policies made by Mr Chiba, most notably what name should the next leader use.

Quote:

"We need to change the constitution. Former interim admin Chiba Seto managed to take power without a Chinese name. When I get elected, I will change the constitution so only future leaders can only be sworn in with their Chinese names. Using a Chinese name means that the person has integrated well within Bai Lungese society and this will reduce the level of resentment amongst the people. If they don't have one, they should formally adopt one otherwise the election is declared invalid."

When asked if he plans to reverse the decisions made by Mr Chiba while he met with Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain, he simply replied: "It's going to be a mixed bag."

Mr Im will tour around the country to start his political campaign. His rival candidate Stephen T. Ding will do the same. Elections are expected to be held at 15th April.

In related news, a man has been arrested for attempting to knife Mr Im because he claimed to dislike any Chinese dialect other than Mandarin. The knifeman, Oh Myung Da brandished the knife and threatened to stab Mr Im while he delivered his speech in Cantonese. He was taken away from the premises where he was charge for attempted assault.

For'af riot comes to an end.

Posted Image

After nearly 3 weeks of carnage, the rioting in the capital of East Dannistaan is officially declared over.

Pictured above shows the final intense hours of the riots. A Dannistrian photographer happened to be at the scene and took a photo of 2 retreating Bai Lungese running for their lives as a van driven by East Dannisrians attempt to run over the pair. Neither escaped out of For'af and both died of their injuries from the van which collided with them.

By 2238 today, the riot came to an end. Despite this, there is still is still racial tensions between the East Dannistrians and the remaining few Bai Lungese still living in the state capital. Estimates show that only 34,000 Bai Lungese are residing in Bai Lung with the remaining 2.9 million migrating to the neighbouring states or to another country.

The riot began as a result of a video showing Bai Lungese university students mocking elderly Dannistrian employees. The video showed these Dannistrian being forced to consumed urinated and defecated food. The nearly 3 week riot has resulted in the deaths of 6,815 Bai Lungese dead and 12,942 injured.

Former interim admin Chiba Seto, First minister of East Dannistaan Sarah Kah'riinah and Prime Minister P'aanil F'orrlason Smith and Governor General of Dannistaan Marie Clahrk'sohn have all condemned the riots and have called for calm in the city. The estimated costs caused by the rioting remains unknown although some sources estimated a billion BL Dollars worth of damages.

A cleanup operation is currently underway.

Stephen T. Ding criticises leader over health care reforms: "Richard Im will cripple health care system if he introduces publicly funded health care."

Posted Image

The junior secretary of the treasury and interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has criticised acting Interim Admin Richard Im for announcing a radical shake up to the health system of Bai Lung.

Speaking at the Wang Bin community centre in Pyongjing, the 48 year old lawyer has slammed his superior for attempting to publicly fund health care into the country as part of a program to radically re-shape the health care system since the fall of the Chenite and Nationalist regimes. Mr Ding likened Mr Im''s proposals to a mummy.

Quote:

"Mr [Richard] Im's plans to bring publicly funded health care into the Free Republic of Bai Lung will show no benefit whatsoever. It would produce contrasting effects to what the proposer wants. By introducing universal health care, he is turning this country into another era of Chen Jong Sun. The public's freedom of choices [for health care] will be stiff, paralysed and mummy like. The people will no longer be able to pay for what hospitals they wish to go to for their treatment. UHC will force you to do this, do that, don't do this or that. It snatches the freedom we are fighting and dying for. Is this the path which the public wishes to embrace? Do we need to wait up to an hour under Mr Im's reforms? That's what universal health care will do. It will also mean increased taxes and this means the public are unable to keep up with the yearly taxes the low earning public has to pay. No! We should allow an array of health insurance companies to exist in this country. There should be varying offers for various needs. Mr Im wants a introduce a one sized fits all policy. No, no, no, that will not work. The glove don't fit into the toddler's hands, they need special needs. The toddler needs a baby health insurance and it's what they need. Mark my words: Mr Im will severely cripple the health care system if he introduces UHC in this country and there's no way the damages can be repaired."

-Stephen T. Ding

If elected, Mr Ding plans to increase the premium rate covered per head from BL$2000 to BL$5000.

Mr Im swiftly replied that while he respected the views of his colleague, he felt that imposing restrictions to the health care system is a necessity due to the number of low income families. He claimed that the current health care is causing more harm than benefiting Bai Lungese families.

Quote:

"Although I express concern to the proposal made by my colleague, he has the right to decide to offer a choice to the general public and I respect him for that. However, well in advance planning and execution are the two most important aspects to make a policy work and I strongly suspect that Mr Ding has concocted this idea at the later parts of his campaign. I will execute my plans slowly over time and this is how we should pass laws as they are practical and easy to do. Mr Ding wishes to put forward his policy in the shortest time possible and this can result in a sudden change of attitude in the general public. They will be discontent, disgruntled and disappointed with their prospectus leader. It would also be catastrophic if he did put a law into effect the next day. Universal health care is essential because anybody can have the right to free treatment and by doing so, there will be no health bills racking up."

Mr Im also gave his response to Mr Ding's claims that Im will increase taxes.

Quote:

"The increase in taxes will be inevitable but no member of the public is expected to pay the enourmous pile up in one go. We can pay in tiny segments and I know that this is the most practical and ideal method to get taxes this way. Paying taxes monthly is the most viable option as it offers a long term solution to the economy."

-Richard Im

Both Im and Ding will contest to be the 4th elected Interim Admin of Bai Lung on 15th April.

Severed head found in East Dannistaan.

Posted Image

A woman's head has been found in a plastic bag by children playing on a beach in East Dannistaan. A human hand was also found some 20 yards from the head on Tahn'gaht beachfront in Port Ourad.

Two young sisters found the "grissly discovery" at 1030 EPT. They ran home and their parents called the police. East Dannistrian police said the force has quickly identified the woman as a Bai Lungese but further details have yet to be revealed such as her age, where she lived and her profession.

By 1800 yesterday, the body parts were removed from the scene and the area continues to be cordoned off.

Detective Chief Inspector Joseph Clahrk'sohn, the officer leading the investigation, said the forensic examinations to follow would be "very painstaking":

Quote:

"The forensic team will conduct a detailed examination of the body part which will be a very delicate and painstaking process. Right now at Port Ourad, every officer in the scene is searching the crime scene inch by inch to ensure that every last piece of evidence is unearthed and examined by our team with accuracy. Then we will determine the outcome of the victim."

Det Ch Insp Clahrk'sohn said the children who found the remains were "extremely upset" and were being cared for by their parents at home.

Quote:

"The problem in the recent findings is the the victim does not appear to be a local of the Port and therefore does not fit the criteria we are looking for. However, we will not rule out that the person had been living outside the area."

The beach is very popular with dog walkers and local children, who are on their Easter break.

Patricia Mahr'tiin (aged 54), councilor of Port Ourad, said:

Quote:

"This is kind of cases you would expect in the big cities, not like here. This is very unique yet grisly case. My sympathies go out to the children who found the severed head. They have went through a terrible ordeal, especially at such a tender age. The sooner this tragic mystery is cleared up, the better."

-Patricia Mahr'tiin

2 Bai Lungese men have been arrested by police in connection with the discovery of the woman's head but have not been charged.

Richard Im and Stephen T. Ding compete head to head in election.

With only two candidates in the election, Richard Im and Stephen T. Ding compete with each other to be elected as the 4th Interim Admin excluding acting ones. Flyers and posters of both candidates dominate much of the country and even custom t-shirts of each candidate are part of the fierce campaign to get the top job.

Several newspapers have listed Mr Im as the favourite to win the election on April 15th with Mr Im leading the polls by a large majority with varying outcomes from 70-80% of votes in favour of Mr Im. A turnout of 55% is required to elect the interim admin and if the turnout falls short, a re-election is mandatory and will be held 3 weeks after the previous election. In January, Chiba Seto was unable to be elected as the new interim admin because of a shortage in turnout. Some political commentators called the high minimum turnout to be highly unfair and undemocratic while defenders considered the turnout a necessity as the minimum turnout is needed to prove the majority of eligible voters voted for that person as well as too make vote rigging more difficult.

Both candidates claim Christianity as their faith and if either has been elected, they will be the first Christians to be voted into office unless a third candidate throws him/herself into the ring. Excluding acting interim admins, previous elected interim admins have been atheists or Shintoists as is the case with Kobayashi Taro, who is a devout Shintoist.

DoB - 11/01/58

Religion - Roman Catholic

Education - Dannistra Onn University (1977-1980)

Born Richard Lam Kar-Daam in New Jian Sha Zui, Mr Im holds the rare distinction of being a Cantonese speaker than a Mandarin one. Both of his parents are rich, ethnically Chinese who are raised Roman Catholics and both claimed Cantonese as their native tongues. At a young age, Richard Im had to change his surname from Lam to Im to avoid discrimination from fellow pupils as he came from a Cantonese speaking background. The dialect is not recognise by the general consensus and regards Mandarin as the only dialect of Chinese.

Despite holding Bai Lungese citizenship, Richard Im spent nearly half of his life in Dannistaan and it's colonial master, the United Kingdom. He left Bai Lung in 1977 to study at Dannistra Onn University for 3 years followed by Oxford in the UK from 1981-1986. He spent the next 21 years running as a councilman in Dannistraa Onn, helping local communities. After the Bai Lung-Dannistaan war ended, Mr Im volunteered to put his hat in the name to run as a member of the Wang Bin cabinet. Mr Wang turned him down, citing his lack of experience in the field of politics. Deeply offended, he confronted Mr Wang in June to convince the late Interim Admin into giving him a place. Mr Wang considered Mr Im's plea but died the next day. Speculations are now rife whether Mr Im killed Mr Wang but no evidence suggest he committed murder and the claim was swiftly dismissed.

Mr Im was offered the position of Secretary of the Interior by then acting interim admin Chiba Seto. While not interested at first, Mr Im accepted the job. His position was only a brief stint when he criticised his superior for failing to accept responsibility for a riot in Kelssek for which he was fired from the job. His sacking did not stop him from filling a motion of no confidence. After persuading the Secretary of Transportation Wang Joon-Jin, Mr Im managed to get the vote he wanted to put forward. The majority voted to remove Mr Chiba and he was removed from office. Mr Im was chosen to be the next acting interim admin until the election.

Some of Mr Im's policies include universal health care, a parliamentary style government with a President as head of state and a change to the Bai Lungese constitution, allowing leaders with Chinese/Korean names to be sworn in.

Mr Im has been widely criticised by many for his lack of knowledge in the Korean language as it is one of the two official languages of Bai Lung. Many claimed that a non-Korean speaking leader would endanger the number of speakers in the home and many would pick Cantonese as their 2nd language. If elected, he would be the first Roman Catholic leader in power.[/quote]

Ethnicity - Chinese, 1/4 Korean

Languages - Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Korean.

DoB - 23/02/60

Religion - Methodist

Education - Dannistra Onn University (1980-1983)

Born to a Cantonese speaking, purely ethnic Chinese mother and a part Korean, part Chinese father, Stephen T. Ding's background is more diverse than his rival. His mother is a cook while his father is a lawyer Unlike Richard Im, Mr Ding never faced discrimination in school because he always communicated to his teachers in Mandarin and he cites his father's willingness to teach him to speak Mandarin.

Following his father's footsteps, Mr Ding studied at Dannistra Onn University, the same university which his rival, Richard Im, has attended. It was from there he earned a degree in English, Law and Politics. Unable to find any clients when starting off as a lawyer, he took stints as assistants for councilmen at Dannistria Onn. It was not long before he tried to run as a councilor. Running under a Socialist ticket in 1992 after the incumbent chose not to be re-elected, he was one of several candidates elected. He give up his seat in 2000 to pursue his life long dream of being a lawyer. He was a generally successful lawyer, winning 80% of cases and reportedly, he raked up a whopping $33 million in 6 years. Famously, he was the lawyer representing controversial film director Marcel Chen when An An the Clown objected to footage of the latter. The case ruled in favour of Chen and An An was forced to pay $10 million to Chen, which 75% was given to Mr Ding.

Mr Ding's policies include more freedom for health insurance companies, keeping the status quo by not turning the government into a parliamentary style one and changing the Bai Lungese constitution by forbidding candidates with Japanese names. Mr Ding also wishes to sever ties with Kelssek and therefore refuse troops from entering Bai Lung despite Chiba Seto giving approval.

Despite Richard Im being the favourite to win, there might be another shock victory like with the previous 2 elections because Mr Ding speaks Korean fluently and a
politician who speaks the two official languages is more likely to be voted into power.

In related news, Richard Im announces plans to visit Coocoostan and Kelssek to met respective leaders Andrei Pakhomov and Pierre Gautain. Mr Im will continue the work of predecessor Chiba Seto by discussing bilateral ties for his two visits.

Bai Lung film fans pay tribute to Charlton Heston.

Posted Image

Overseas Bai Lungese film buffs living in East Dannistaan have paid tribute to legendary American film actor Charlton Heston (Pictured above), who has died in his Beverly Hills home at the age of 84. Many Bai Lungese spent the day off, standing outside various cinemas throughout East Dannistaan holding candles and quoting dialogue from Heston's most iconic roles.

His wife Lydia, was at his side when he passed away. Heston is best known for his portrayal of Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in Hollywod films made in the 50's and 60's. After his success with the American sci-fi film Planet of the Apes, Heston focused his attention is working in the theatre.

Many Bai Lungese, who have become naturalised Dannistrian citizens, regard his political views particularly on gun politics as inspiring. Many felt that his famous line spoken at a conference of American gun lobby, the NRA: "From my cold dead hands" has shed light into hoping that one day, they will get the right to bear arms, just like with their East Dannistrian counterparts who can own a gun. Under current East Dannistrian laws enacted by then ruling DNP state government, any citizen may purchase a firearm except those of Bai Lungese ancestry. While the DNP did not give a clear reason behind the ban, many called the law "extremely racist". Despite a change in government, the Conservatives have been criticised for failing to change existing gun laws in East Dannistaan.

Heston is widely regarded and loved by many Bai Lungese, both film buffs and non-film buffs alike, because of his firm stance on gun rights and conservative views. Late dictator Chen Jong Sun, is a well known fan of the Ben Hur star. His now famous phrase at the NRA meeting, translated into Mandarin Chinese and Korean, is a part of daily lexicon in Bai Lungese society. Despite a de facto general social rule of thumb that stipulates only fellow Bai Lungese should be the only people a Bai Lungese can respect, Mr Heston is one of a handful of non-Bai Lungese people respected by many Bai Lungese.

Mr Heston's family have said a private memorial service would be held.

Kashgar and Nanren riots in mainland territories and governing island erupts for the second time. Richard Im appeals for calm.

Posted Image

Wide spread racial riots have broken out in the Dalu capital city of Xinjiang, the governing island capital Pyongjing and several cities including New Incheon, Sing Ren and Choi, for the second time this year. Ethnic groups primarily consisting of the Kashgars amd Nanrens have clashed with the Bai Lungese over past treament.

A Bai Lungese eyewitness living in Sing Ren claimed that Nanren protesters burned down a sock factory. He called the attack "terrifying".

Ethnic Kashgar and Bai Lungese groups have clashed with each other in the streets of Xinjiang (Pictured above), with the former looting shops with Chinese and Korean signs. Chairs and bricks were reported to have been thrown at shop windows owned by Bai Lungese, the ethnic majority group and ethnic slurs were directed at their rulers.

The first violent riot, which occurred last month on March 15th, coincided with the 49th anniversary of the failed uprising against the Nationalist government. Many governments around the world had condemned newly appointed acting interim admin Richard Im for his heavy handedness in March's riots, something capitalised by rival candidate Stephen T. Ding.

Ethnic tensions between Bai Lungese and the Kashgars had it's beginnings. The then ruling Nationalist government spent a 6 year campaign claiming random territories in the East Pacific in hopes to gain an economic and population advantage over most nations by taking the resources from that country and use for their own needs. The aggressive takeover of Dalu, then refered to as Kashgarstan, began in January 1952 and concluded on March 1958. It was then renamed to Bai Lung Dalu in 1958 to reflect the culture of the rulers. The Kashgar refer to the mainland as Taerranai Duaei, literally Large Terrain. A year after the takeover, a bloody uprising by the native Kashgars threatened to oust the ruling nationalist government. At the time of the bloody 1959 uprising, only 10% of the 55 million people living in the mainland territories are Bai Lungese.

As the demographic changed dramatically over the next 10 years, it was clear that the rulers became the ethnic majority of that country. By 1989, 78% of the population (est. 390 million) are Bai Lungese.

Prior to the 2008 riots, only 2 more related riots occurred after the one in 1959, although in the two cases they are comparatively smaller. One in 1962 when the Nationalist was overthrown by the Stalinist opposition and in 1975 during Stalinist rule. The latter case prompted Chen Jong Sun to enact a law which effectively ruled the mainland territories. The law known as Anti-Secession Act barred any attempts to split away from the rest of the country. Chen referred to the law as "Two countries, one system" meaning that although the mainland is populated by a different ethnic group, the law applies to the rest of Bai Lung.

Since the infamous law was put into place, it allowed Chen to wipe out any ethnic group he pleases. During his 44 years in power, he has ordered an estimate 25-35 million executions to those of Kashgar ancestry.

Fearing that they will face the same fate in Mao island, the Nanrenian's chose to hide underground to avoid prosecution from the Stalinist government. Despite doing so, ISB often conduct random house to house raids to find any ethnic Nanrenians or suspected to be Nanrenians.

Posted Image

However, the perceived fear of being prosecuted by the Chenite regime is long past and riots have occurred in the cities of New Incheon, Sing Ren, Choi and the capital Pyongjing. There have been reports of spears and improvised arrows being launched at Bai Lungese owned shops in protest of their past treatment.

Posted Image

Despite this, the Bai Lungese responded back by engaging in a stabbing frenzy and looted Nanren owned shops. The Bai Lung Police Force have sent police officers to the hot spots to quell out any rioting. Commissioner Chen Myung Bai has condemned the rioting calling it "a pointless exercise of mindless wanton violence."

Posted Image

Acting Interim Admin Richard Im (Pictured above) has called for calm and tolerance just hours after the violent clashes started. Mr Im has appealed to Coocoostan, Dannistaan, Dovakhan and Free Pacific States to aid in the quelling of the intense riots. He also re-iterated plans to visit Coocoostan and Kelssek.

To date, 157 people died in the 2nd wave of riots and BL$70 million worth of damages caused.

OOC Notes: The Kashgars are an ethnic group native to the mainland territories. Prior to 1952, they were the ethnic majority of Dalu but because of Chen's and the Nationalist's insistence that Bai Lung should only be occupied by the Bai Lungese, they ordered a mass purge of the people. At one point, their population reached 50 million but since the purge ordered by Chen which meant anyone on that ethnic group had to be executed. The current estimated population is somewhere between 15 million. Much of their food relies on raising livestock. The language is called Kashgari, a language distantly related to Dannsitrian but with Russian influences. Many words are borrowed from Dannistrian but each word is tonal, like with Chinese. There are 4 tones in total like with Mandarin.

The Nanrens (literally: Southern People) are an ethnic group native to the islands occupied by the Bai Lungese. In my NSWiki article, I've referred to them as the natives. They were supposedly killed by the Bai Lungese's ancestors (Koreans, then Chinese) but it seems they're breeding underground to avoid extinction. At the height of their populous, they've reached 20 million. Today's estimated population ranges from 5-7 million. Referred to as Nanrenians to the western world, their language Nanrenese, is a language also related to Dannistrian. Like with Kashgari, it is a tonal language but it has more than Kashgari with a total of 6.

Ethnic tensions in mainland territories and governing island worsen as Kashgar insurgents kidnap official.

Posted Image

Violence in Mao island and the mainland territories have escalated as more shops continue to be looted by ethnic Nanren and Kashgar groups respectively and there has been no signs of the unrest coming to an end.

Bai Lungese have simply responded to the attack by initiating a riot of their own as they marched through the ethnic enclaves of both Kashgar and Nanren residents. Both have suffered heavy losses but is the two ethnic minorities who have suffered the heaviest casualties of the riots with an estimated 117 killed.

In the mainland territories, Kashgar insurgents have sent a video to acting interim admin Richard Im, claiming they have kidnapped a Xinjiang official and they will behead him if his government do not give back their land and to remove all Bai Lungese living in the mainland territories. The hostage takers have given Mr Im 72 hours to respond before they carry out their threat. The final moments of the footage showed the hockey mask wearing kidnappers showing the official's face before the viewers.

Mr Im has condemned the kidnapping but is willing to negotiate with the group if the unrest comes to an end sooner rather than later. By contrast, rival candidate Stephen T. Ding has criticised Mr Im for his soft approach and has called for the hostage takers to be found and punished severely.

Like with the hostage crisis at Li Mei last year, it is up to the Coocoostan government to intervene in the hostage crisis.

Kashgar insurgents: Deal or no deal.

The Kashgar insurgents who took a Bai Lungese official in the mainland capital Xinjiang have released another video, re-affirming their intentions to behead the official by Sunday morning. They pointed out that they will not offer a compromising deal.

The official is identified as Wang Dae Ming, a 59 year old councilor working in the North Xinjiang metropolitan area. He was reported missing on Thursday when he drove back home after seeing his mother. Police have was reported that a green van t-boned Mr Huang's car, causing to roll a few times. The masked kidnappers took Mr Huang out of his car and bundled him into their van where they drove him in an undisclosed location.

The video, which is spoken in Kashgari, gives a detailed proposals of what they want from the Im cabinet. Referring to these proposals as stages, the Kashgar kidnappers demanded that the Im cabinet must reach an agreement to announce the repatriation of over 600 million Bai Lungese living in the territories by Sunday 9.00 AM.

The 2nd stage is carrying out the repatriation of the 600 million Bai Lungese living in the territories. They claim that the deadline for this stage must be met by 18th April. The Kashgar insurgents never made any mention of how the Bai Lungese should leave the mainland.

They claim that the 3rd stage will be hiring Bai Lungese workers to demolish all the buildings constructed by the Bai Lungese over the last century including all of the national treasures found there. They claim a deadline of this stage will be met by 1st May.

A 4th stage consist of establishing a Republic of Kashgarstan, a highly controversial name used by the ethnic minority and is a name not recognised by the world.

A 5th and final stage is the supposed release of Mr Wang, who they claim, will be transported by a rocket.

Acting interim admin Richard Im criticised the demands made by the Kashgars.

Quote:

"The demands made by the kidnappers is an outrageous exercise to provoke the people of Bai Lung by giving unrealistic and unpractical dates to removal all Bai Lungese within a short alloted time. That would not be possible to achieve as it would require all the boats, planes and vehicles in the world to displace 600 million residents and even so, it would require more than 3 months to achieve. There's no way we can achieve that..."

-Richard Im

The Coocoostan government, who is in-charge of the mainland territories, has yet to comment on the situation.

In related news, a shopping mall in Xin Sha Tien, Dalu, has been ram raided by Kashgar youths as ethnic clashes between them and the Bai Lungese continues. A man had died in the ram raid.

Kashgar insurgents behead official on video.

Posted Image

Kashgar insurgents have behead Xinjiang official Wang Dae Ming shortly after the deadline has fell through, the Im cabinet has confirmed.

The video was presented to Mr Im just hours after Mr Wang was beheaded. In the video, they delivered a word of prayer before graphically beheading Mr Wang with a scimitar. The executioner held Mr Wang's severed head and warned of more kidnappings like this one. The video ends with a montage of various buildings in Bai Lung on fire. The Im cabinet has sent their condolences to both the family of Mr Wang and to his colleagues, who they called him a "gentle soul, 100% committed to working in Bai Lung Dalu."

Despite the unfortunate loss of Mr Wang, acting inteirm admin Richard Im defended his decision by negotiating with the insurgents themselves. He pointed out it was their unwillingness not to engage in peaceful dialogue with the Bai Lungese.

Quote:

"My decision to negotiate with the captors, is by far the most viable outcome of this situation. It was the fault of the Kashgars by their refusal not to give second thoughts into this crisis. I offer them peaceful dialogue and they gave me a torpedo of wanton destruction."

It is currently unknown whether Mr Wang's body has been dumped in the mainland territories.

In related news, shortly after the beheading of Mr Wang, a large scale race riot took place 5 miles north of Xinjiang, killing 2,506 people most of whom are Kashgars. The riot occurred in retaliation of Mr Wang's murder.

4 Bai Lungese prisoners involved in altercation with Kelssek prison.

4 Bai Lungese prisoners detained at Burnaby prison in Kelssek have been involved in an altercation with a prison guard. Details of the incident are scarce but Kelssek police have confirmed an incident involving 4 men and a prison guard has taken place and all the men have been escorted back to their cells but they have refused to say who started the altercation first.

It is widely believed that the 4 men detained at Burnaby prison are the same men who assaulted former interim admin Chiba Seto in Burnaby International airport last month but Kelssek police neither confirm nor deny this.

Chiba Seto suspect dies in police custody. Anti-Kelssek riots in Bai Lung causes BL$55 million worth of damages.

One of 5 suspects arrested for assaulting former interim admin Chiba Seto in Burnaby International Airport, has died in police custody.

Information released by Kelssek police has confirmed several inmates of Bai Lungese origin have been involved in a violent scuffle with prison guards and efforts to quell the prison riot have resulted in the death of 1 man.

The inmate believed to have died in custody is 89 year old Jin In Guo, a naturalised Kelssekian citizen since 1945. Born in New Daegu, Mr Jin left Bai Lung after Japanese army invaded the country and raped various women. According to a historian, Mr Jin's oldest sister, who was 25 at the time, was one of the rape victims. Mr Jin left the country on the same year and spent the next 7 decades in Burnaby. He married another Bai Lungese woman and had 1 son, 58 year old Jin Ho Bing.

It is widely reported that Jin In Guo took his son, his 44 year old nephew and his 24 and 27 year old grandsons with him to Burnaby International Airport were they encountered former interim admin Chiba Seto and assaulted him.

Acting Interim Admin Richard Im has condemned the incident but he has called for closer cooperation between the Bai Lungese and Kelssekian authorities to help ease tensions between the two communities. He also called for Pierre Gautain to apologise for the incident "as soon as possible":

Quote:

"The damage has been done but we can help repair the gashing wound caused by this incident with Pierre Gautain to apologise for what happened. I don't expect an immediate apology but it would be in his best interest to write one as soon as possible. The Bai Lungese and Kelssekians will be working closely together to solve the problem."

-Richard Im

While the Bai Lungese community in Kelssek has shown restraint, their native counterparts did not exercise the same actions as millions marched in the streets of Pyongjing today, burning effigies of PM Gautain and the flag of Kelssek as well as chanting out anti-Kelssek slogans and smashing up shops that sell Kelssek goods. Several people have called for the boycott of all Kelssek goods and opposing the sending of troops to the mainland territories, a stance supported by Chiba Seto and Richard Im.

Richard Im announces postponement of election.

Posted Image

Acting interim admin Richard Im (Pictured above) has announced today that the interim admin election is to be postponed.

The move comes 20 minutes before the polling stations are scheduled to be opened on 0800 EPT today but Mr Im cited problems at the mainland territories and Mao island are the primary factors of why he chose to cancel the election. He has moved the election to 6th May.

Quote:

"The problem in Dalu and governing Mao island is proven to be untenable for the officials. The beheading of an official has been a traumatic experience for everyone and I wish to respect their peace by giving them a chance to recover before they've regain the strength to vote for their leader.  On 6th May, that will be the day when the people choose their leader and by then, the situation will die down."

-Richard Im

On the same day of the re-scheduled interim admin election, ethnic Kashgars will vote for their Kashgarstan Réspublikarsi Présitént or President of the Republic of Kashgarstan, a spiritual leader amongst the Kashgars and de facto president of the mainland territories. The current leader is Tentsin Farabhazi*, who was elected in 2004 secretly during the Chenite regime. Mr Farabhazi has announced today that he will seek re-election and if re-elected, it would be his final term as leader as the leader may only serve 2 terms maximum of 4 years each under the Kashgar constitution.

Many Kashgars do not recognise the status of Interim Admin because they refuse to be ruled by a Bai Lungese after 5 decades of occupation.

Interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding called the Kashgar election "a publicity stunt to promote Kashgar independence" and at the same time, criticised Richard Im for moving the interim admin election date to 6th May calling it "cowardly" and "a last minute attempt to grab power for as long as he can hold it."

A defender of Mr Im, Wang Joon Jin, called Mr Ding an opportunist with no real agenda.

OOC Note: Tentsin Farabhazi is pronounced Ten-Shin Far-a-bar-zee.

Weapons found in mainland monasteries.

Posted Image

Weapons and explosives have been found in 11 Bischkeck monasteries in New Gansu, north east of the mainland.

The items were discovered in the past two days in monsteries in the Gannan province. The NBLPF has discovered 3 rifles, 571 bullets, 10kg of dynamite, 5 detonators and 38 satellite receivers in 11 key monasteries in Jone and Xiahe counties.

Bischkeckism is the religion practiced by virtually all Kashgars. They are expected to worship 5 times a day in a Kashgar approved monastery to a god named Bischkeck. It is widely believed to be a heavily modified form of Hal'vonism, which the latter was introduced to the Kashgars by Dannistrian explorers almost 5 centuries ago. Surprisingly, none of the monasteries are levelled to the ground by either the Nationalist or Stalinist rule as they nearly resembled their Buddhist counterparts.

In mid-March, Kashgars started a violent uprising to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the bloody uprising against Bai Lungese occupation. Kashgar leaders say more than 3,500 people died in the riots but NBLPF say only 170 people died, and blames the unrest on Kashgar rioters.

Police have arrested 52 suspects in the sting operations, for conspiring to blow up key Bai Lungese landmarks in the mainland. All of the suspects detained by police are ethnic Kashgars.

Both Kashgar and Bai Lungese leaders have accused one another for the incident. Acting interim admin Richard Im has publicly expresses his concerns with the amount of arms and explosives found in these monasteries. He commended the police for their quick response. He has called for the Kashgars to cooperate with the Bai Lungese people.

Quote:

"This is the stage where both sides must sit and down and engage in peaceful dialogue. I will not tolerate the notion of mass murder for an unjustified cause. At the same time, I condemn my people's actions for stabbing every last ethnic Kashgar they see..."

-Richard Im

Meanwhile, spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi has accused Mr Im of framing his people by allegedly sending NBLPF to place arms and explosives inside the monasteries and arresting the clerics without a warrant.

Quote:

"Mr Im's disgraceful acts should be condemned by the international community immediately! The Kashgar people never store weapons and or explosives in our sacred monasteries, it was the work of Mr Im by sending the police to store these in our holy places. Then he would arrest the innocent clerics, and brutally beat them to a confession for something they would not have done. All this can be conducted without a warrant! The Kashgar people must have justice! This ghastly man and his filthy and bowderlised lies must be exposed to the worldwide media and lets see who's the real monster now!"

-Tentsin Farabhazi

When asked about the beheading of a Bai Lungese official, Mr Farabhazi has publicly said that he did not condone the beheading but gave a cryptic warning to Mr Im that peace can not be restored unless "the one sitting on the seat the longest, must relinquish it to the ones in need."
