Senator Gerry Kim Hyun-Ma has advocated the extermination of all LGBT people in Bai Lung. The outspoken Conservative senator posted a short Birdy, calling for the justified killing of any LGBT persons and anyone who has connections with them. He posted:
The controversial comments comes a day after the Senate voted 178-0 to censure him over his use of a slur for a Dannistrian. He has since apologised for the comments but said that his populist message still remains. It is unknown if the upper senate will hold another censure motion in the wake of his anti-LGBT stance. |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() LGBT extermination comment is my comment, senator confirms. Senator Gerry Kim Hyun-Ma has confirmed and defended a controversial blog entry in which he called for the extermination of all LGBT people in Bai Lung. Despite some Conservatives bloggers blaming the political left for deliberately hacking into his account which resulted in his alleged comments. However, Mr Kim posted a video blog confirming that it was him who posted the message. He has criticised PM Lin, also a fellow Conservative, for staying silent on the issue and for not doing enough to prevent new LGBT people. Although the Conservative Party strongly opposes gay marriage and enacting new laws protecting LGBT people, PM Lin spoke in favour of civil unions as an alternative. The Labour Party leader Li An Ying strongly criticised the Prime Minister for allowing the most reactionary factions of his party to dominate the official party line, effectively turning the Conservative Party into a hardline, right-wing party instead of the moderate, centrist party that PM Lin had espoused. The Labour Party will put forward a resolution, censuring Mr Kim for his remarks. If passed, it would be the 2nd censure on the same person in a week. |

At least 20 people have died and 50 others are injured after a coach was hit sideways by a heavy-loaded truck on an expressway in West Pyongjing's Renhoe Highway Saturday morning, BLCTV reports. The 70-seater coach was en route from Pyongjing to Chen Tai Soon when the truck, which was loaded with bricks and steel girders, smashed the coach sideways as the truck driver attempted to change lanes directly to his left. The coach rolled over several times before stopping completely, all of this took place on the Pyongjing-Zibo Expressway at 3:30 a.m., according to Zibo local authorities. According to passengers, the truck did not stop and continued to drive down the Pyongjing-Zibo Expressway like the whole incident did not happen at all. The coach's entire right side has been crushed as a resulting of the side collision by the truck, whilst bricks and girders were left lying on the highway. All the casualties were on the coach. Among the injured, five are in critical condition. Police are appealing to the public to look for the truck driver responsible for the crash, as well as the truck itself. Police said the coach was traveling illegally. Since health and safety legislation related to coach journeys were passed in 2011, coaches are not allowed to provide long-distance passenger services on expressways between 2 and 5 a.m. to prevent severe road accidents. |

Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Innocent man cleared by High Court over 20 year murder. A man who served 20 years in prison for killing his wife has been declared innocent in Bai Lung's latest wrongful conviction case. Wu Yongshan was freed after the High Court in Pyongjing ruled the evidence had been inadequate for a guilty verdict. His wife was murdered in mid 1993 and Yu was convicted of homicide, with the verdict upheld on appeal. Mr Wu was to receive the death penalty under the then-Chenite regime but layers of bureaucracy prevented the execution to go ahead. The Dannistrian-Bai Lungese war of 2007 also further scuppered executions of all inmates convicted of murder. The then-interim admin Wang Bin suspended all executions for prisoners convicted of murder prior to January 2007. However, in March 2008, the High Court voted 7-2 that the death penalty is unconstitutional and all inmates on death row had their sentences commuted to life imprisonment with no parole. Conservative MLA's are pushing for the death penalty to be reinstated. Wu and his father pressed further appeals since suspension of the death penalty in May 2007. After 6 years of numerous appeals, High court ordered a retrial in May this year. The release of Wu, who is reportedly in poor health, came on the same day that Conservative MLAs attempted to pass a bill that would reinstate the death penalty for murderers and drug dealers. The Criminal Justice Act 2013 failed to pass after Labour MLAs fillibustered the legislation and storming out of the chamber, effectively killing the bill via low turnout. |

Social networking site ThrushXpress has banned an online user for launching a movement that advocates the throwing of babies. The user, known as BBThrow10000, called for an annual Throw A Baby Day to be held outside the Assembly of Bai Lung. He asked for other users to suggest ways to throwing a baby on that day. The user was banned for life due to promotion of violence and potential murder against minors, which the latter is a serious offence and liable to life imprisonment. Free speech activists argue that the user is simply tongue in cheek and did not bear any malice towards babies in society. In the past month, there have been 2 high profile cases of babies being tossed to the ground in violent fashion. The Lower House will debate on whether to increase penalties for assault on minors. |

A Sing Ren based charity wants to see a special subsidy set up for low-income working families as the impact of the minimum wage wanes. The Social Services for Working Bai Lungese said its research shows that the number of people living in poverty, those with incomes of less than half the median wage, increased last year to more than 90 million, up 500,000 from that of 2011. It proposed the subsidy should be 10 percent of the median wage. In 2012, for example, the median wage was BL$15,000/annum for a two-member family. The charity proposed the implementation of a low-income supplement. Spokesman of SSWBL Charlie Fang said the government should allocate BL$135 billion each year to subsidize low-income working households with children. The subsidy would give each household an extra BL$1500 to spend. However, the Conservative Party has criticised the proposals as being wreckless since it would increase taxes on everybody. Expressing his staunch opposition to increased welfare, PM Lin has called for private charities like SSWBL to aid the disadvantaged instead of using taxpayer's money to fund what he sees as welfare. Yesterday, Mr Liang has posted a short statement denouncing Social Services for Working Bai Lungese for advocating an additional BL$135 billion of spending to the government's budget. At the moment, the budget deficit now stands at 3.6% of GDP, down 0.2% from 4 months ago. Mr Liang has claimed that the additional spending would reverse the course of the Conservative Party's deficit reduction plan. Mr Liang has bluntly called for families to work more hours instead of relying on goverment hand outs. The Pyongjing Central Market Place has suffered another set back after two street vendors and a passerby were brutally murdered by masked men, BLCTV reports. Three men, all armed with knives and machetes, attacked a chestnut vendor and a fashion handbag vendor. The chestnut vendor instantly died when one of the men decapitated her instantly with the machete. Eyewitness reports say that the handbag vendor ducked before the masked attempt to do the same to him. However, two of the men held him down and he was stabbed in the head, killing him instantly. Despite intervention by some members of the public, the masked men grabbed cash and handbags before slashing a brave member of the public who attempted to thwart their murder-robbery. He died shortly before ambulance arrived. It is the 2nd case of brutal murders on street vendors in one week. Yesterday, a stinky tofu seller was brutally murdered in a similar fashion. He suffered a blow to the neck and died at the scene. His money was also stolen by the same masked men. In both cases, the masked men disappeared in a black 4x4 car. The public are now speculating that the murders are committed by members of the Black Croc gang, a violent criminal organisation known to attack street vendors to fund drug trafficking operations. The gang are known to be armed with machetes, guns and knives. Last June, a gang of 5 men from the Black Crocs were jailed for life after murdering 50 street vendors over a period of 3 months from January 2011 to April 2011. |

A man wielding a butchers knife killed five people during a stabbing spree in Sing Ren before being taken down by police. The man was said to have "hacked and stabbed passengers on a bus" during an attack which also saw 15 others injured, BLCTV News has reported. He then got off the bus, which was bound for Sing Ren West, and targeted people on the street before police opened fire, fatally wounding the suspect. Reports initially said two people had been killed in the attack on Sunday. The 43-year-old suspect told police that he had "worked as butcher elsewhere and has financial disputes with close relatives". Police had shot him 10 times in the chest when he attempted to attack the police as well. The suspect died at the scene. A 12-year-old girl was among those wounded in the incident. The victims were not believed to be linked to the dispute. The attack is the latest in a series of deadly incidents across the country, where social unrest have risen in recent years against a backdrop of an ever increasing income inequality and abuses of public power. Some netizens speculate that the stabbings were connected to the recent attacks on street vendors in Pyongjing that left 4 people dead. However, the police have dismissed any connections betweens today's attacks and last week's brutal murders. |

Social Services for Working Bai Lungese, the Sing Ren based charity that advocates a higher living standard for the working class, has renewed their criticisms of Secretary of Finance Jack Liang King-Hua for refusing to look at a possible increase in sale tax for luxury goods such as gold jewelry. The charity has called for Liang government to implement a special 20% sales tax band for jewelry and items that cause heavy pollution or use excessive levels of energy. If implemented, the treasury would generate around BL$75-150 billion a year in revenue. The group continued to advocate using the revenues on subsidising low-income working households with children by giving each household an extra BL$1500. The plan was sharply criticised by PM Lin who warned that adding more taxes would force people to buy high end goods elsewhere such as East Dannistaan which levies little indrect taxation. |

Councillors and police denied the family home was being targeted by developers. A Conservative concillor from New Gansu, who does not wish to be identified, claimed that the boy was killed due to lack of parental supervision. Mr Ting hopes that everyone can donate at least BL$25. So far, 14,000 people have contributed BL$350,000 in total. Ting said poverty is dramatically on rise since Liang took office and blames the President for cutting taxes for the wealthiest when the revenues could have been used for social welfare. Prime Minister Lin, who is also the Party's leader, also defended President Liang against accusations that he incites social divisions and increased poverty during his tenure. Speaking at the Pyongjing Forum, the Prime Minister said having different views does not mean the country is divided.
However, Conservative backbencher Darrell Ai Sha said the problem with Liang is his general reluctance to listen to either the Conservative Party or the Labour Party. Ai said the Liang administration lacks continuity in governance. He cited the previous President and three past interim administrators had different welfare policies. Marxist Party leader Jonnie Ting said social division has been created by the governing system. Ting accused Liang of being arrogant and unwilling to listen to others other than the richest constituents. He is concerned that the public is now beginning to categorize different groups into "goodies" or "baddies." |

A group of 15 Kashgars have mortally wounded a young boy who was selling lemonade at a local street in Southern Xinjiang, BLCTV News reports. The whole incident took place at Hong Bazi Street where Yang Chuang, 10, was selling homemade lemonade to passer-bys for 50 BL Cents. According to his father, Yang Chiying, his son usually makes around $25 everyday from lemonade sales and has done so for one year. 2 Kashgar men reportedly asked the boy in heavily accent Mandarin what he is doing here. The boy ignored their question and offered them lemonade. Both men slapped the lemonade off his hand and kicked him to the ground whilst telling him to get out of the mainland and respect Kashgar sovereignty. The 2 men were joined by 13 others who also took part in the brutal attack. The group had dispersed once police arrived within minutes. Young Yang died at the hospital at 2200 hours, 10 hours after the assault. He had sustained injuries to the head, legs and torso. The mob has also taken all of his earnings from previous sales. Today's shocking incident has re-launched a debate on whether young children should play in Kashgar neighbourhoods. |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Online racist postings must be dealt with, says Prime Minister. Prime Minister Lin has called for social networking sites to do more in controlling the number of offensive posts on their website. According to the Bureau of National Security (BNS), over 1.3 billion online posts were made across 50 different social networking sites every day. Despite the vast majority of posts being harmless, over 30 million have been tagged as offensive. Many of these offensive posts were targeted towards Dannistrians, calling for the extermination of them and their culture 'flushed down the toilet'. Despite attempts to delete these offensive posts followed by the arrest of 5 users of ThrushXpress, Prime Minister Lin has claimed that these posters have damaged the image of Bai Lung and more must be done to remove these posts. Prime Minister Lin has warned if social networking sites get their act together, then he will introduce legislation giving the government more direct control of all content that passes through the internet in Bai Lung, although human rights groups criticise such proposals as a breach of freedom of speech. ThrushXpress founder Tony K. Jin, has responded to criticisms from Lin by stating that the offenders often change their IP address once they've posted the offensive messages but also added that over 15,000 users have been traced and referred to the police in the past 3 years. |
