The military have been deployed in the streets of Pyongjing to stop the remaining anti-Liang demonstrations. 10,000 strong troops were seen exiting from jeeps and trucks although no tanks have been deployed into the capital, an eyewitness to the on-going event had reported. A small but committed group of protesters attempted to resist the group but the heavily equipped troops proved overwhelming for the barely armed activists. By around 0700 this morning, some of most busiest districts of Pyongjing such as Xin Wangjiao were almost empty of any people. The use of military to impose law and order is the first time that a policy had been enacted since the Nationalist Junta regime in 2007. Activists have accused President Liang of caving into the 'demands' of Chief Justice Raymond Hong who suggest last Sunday that the military action should intervene in the demonstrations. The President himself has reportedly stressed that there would be no change in electoral system and there will be no talks with the demonstrators, citing a busy schedule. |

A 25-year-old male who collapsed while undergoing a fat-removal procedure at a Ka Tao beauty parlor in Pyongjing remained in a critical condition last night. A doctor was performing liposuction on Carson Jang's thigh under local anesthesia when Jang suddenly lost consciousness on Wednesday. Police and the Health and Safety Department are jointly investigating the case. No arrests have been made. The Secretary of Health Hong Bai said clients should understand the risks before undergoing such procedures. Hong said liposuction is a high-risk procedure and doctors must first consider the patient's condition. "In the short term, we will also fortify public education [on the risks of liposuction]," Hong said. Last month, Joel H. Kang died after liposuction on his abdomen at a hair clinic in Port To. |

Prime Minister Lin has offered conditional one on one talks with student leaders from the Bai Lungese Federation of Students (BLFS) to discuss electoral reform and the changes of constituencies. A small but committed group of pro-democracy activists have recently announced their intentions to demonstrate in other areas of Pyongjing despite military presence in Xin Wangjiao. Mr Lin has called for student leaders to discuss with him at the Prime Minister's Residency at King Kim X Road. Vice President of BLFS Al Yu Cheng has rejected the offer from the Prime Minister, calling for him to speak in front of 'his crowd' or resign. Mr Yu has continued to accuse the PM and President Liang of masterminding the redrawing of constituent boundaries, claiming the current electoral map is strongly biased towards the Conservatives even if the Labour party gets a majority of the popular vote. The PM has hit back at the claims saying redrawing of boundaries is necessary to reflect the population change within the constituencies. He pointed out that the changes were based on recommendations issued by the Electoral Commission Bureau. Edited by Bai Lung, Oct 12 2014, 07:19:31 AM.

Pyongjing City councillors are deliberating on whether they should impose a temporary curfew on all residents in the wake of the pro-democracy demonstrations. The non-partisan group have voiced concerns that the protesters are disrupting the livelihoods of Bai Lungese citizens and that the noise of the protests at night 'profoundly disturbs' nearby neighbourhoods. Curfew proposals include banning all citizens from entering the streets from 10PM to 6AM. It is unknown how long will the curfew will last for. Pro-democracy activists have slammed the proposal saying it infringes on their right to demonstrate. Many see the curfew proposal as a step backward to the policies of Chen Jong Sun. |

Military personel were seen tearing down 15 canopies set up by pro-democracy activists in the Xin Wangjiao district of the capital. Pro-democracy activists have attempted to prevent soldiers from tearing down the canopies but police officers, who are helping military personel, used 'aggressive' kettling tactics to keep protesters from attacking soldiers and to confine protesters to a small location until all canopies were torn down. By 0930 this morning, the military had torn down all 15 canopies set up in the busy shopping district and had moved on. Despite police efforts to confiscate over 1 ton of building materials carried by protesters, only 5 arrests have been made. President Liang is facing heavy criticisms from left-wing and centre-left opposition after a confidential memo was released to the public revealing the President's plans to scrap the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). The memo was leaked by an unknown source, it was originally sent to Treasury of the Secretary Jack Liang King Hua and it was dated 22nd March 2014. President Liang adnitted in the memo that budgetry cuts made to the ICAC were simply the beginning for 'radical reforms to the budget'. He asked Jack Liang to assist him in his plans to remove the ICAC 'from eternity', calling the body 'un-Bai Lungese'. The Liang administration has yet comment on the leak. Pro-Democracy demonstrators have occupied the Silver Fox district in the Eastern part of the capital, calling Liang 'the worst enemy of the ICAC'. The group are now in their 3rd week of protests whilst the military are attempting to clear out the presence of activists from the streets but efforts have proven to be difficult at best. |

DJ and Singer-Song writer Jay J. Ahn has withdrawn a song that makes fun of the Dannistrian people. The For'af based musician released a song titled 'Take Your Money' and was broadcasted widely in several Mandarin language radio stations in Dannistaan. Take Your Money is a Calypso inspired song and is sung mostly in Mandarin with occaisional words in pidgin English. Sung with a pseudo-East Dannistrian accent, the lyrics make fun of how Dannistrians are dependent of Bai Lungeses trade, on welfare and crime. The song concludes that there will be no Dannistrian culture left and the Bai Lungese culture will be the only culture left to celebrate. It was the right-leaning paper The Dannistrian Sun who brought forward of the song in a negative light although Chinese language papers in For'af also reported the song a week earlier but with a neutral stance or even a mildly positive view. The Dannistrian Sun reported that the word 'Chappie' was used 30 times in the 5 minute song. This morning saw 25 Bai Lungese owned shops brokened into in For'af with racist graffiti sprayed on walls. Three people were also murdered by racist Dannistrian thugs who partially sang an English cover of the song but singing 'Take Yo' Stuff'. Despite withdrawing the song, Jay J. Ahn has denied that the song is racist, claiming that it is a tongue in cheek song that makes fun of both cultures. |

Ben Ao, from Sing Ren, was visiting Fo'raf, East Dannistaan to personally deliver a 100th birthday message to Yu Maguo, a resident of the East Dannistrian capital since 1934. Mr Yu married Deng Facheng in 1939 and at 95 years old, she is reported to be in good shape. They both had 3 children together along with 15 grandchildren, 37 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren. Several members of the Bai Lungese community gave Mr Yu gifts to celebrate his 100th birthday but an individual handed Mr Ao a CD to play at Mr Yu's birthday party but one of the songs was revealed to be the Calypso song 'Take Your Money', wildly seen as racist by Dannistrians and even the Bai Lungese community. Prime Minister Lin has rejected calls by the Opposition Labour to establish a select committee and investigate the alleged mistreatment of Pro-Democracy activists by police. Recent video footage posted online shows police beating up pro-democracy activists despite being pinned up against a wall. Other footage showed police spraying pepper spray on activists kneeling to the ground. Labour MLA Terry Ing called on the Prime Minister to established the Pro-Democracy Select Committee and to find the culprits who assaulted the activists.
A spokeperson to the PM has called the establishment of the Pro-Democracy Select Committee 'unnecessary' and therefore there will be no investigation for mistreated activists. Conservative MLAs have hit back at the Labour Party, claiming that activists were the ones who perpetuated most of the violence. The call for a committee have caused a rift between some Labour MLAs with Randy Chang Wen threatening to switch to the Conservative Party if they continue to pressure Lin to establish a committee. Leader of the Labour Party Li An Ying has sharply criticised the Conservatives for secretly offering centrist members of his own party a senior position in the Bai Lungese House Committee on the Budget. Mr Li has published a leaked memo allegedly writen by Darrell Ai Sha who suggested to PM Lin that any Labour MLA who is offended by the Pro-Democracy movement should be offered a senior position in their Congressional Committees, namely the Budget Committee, but only if they switch allegiance to the Conservative Party. The former PM has claimed that the Conservative are trying cash-in on the infighting between centrist Labour MLAs and 'traditional leftist' MLAs. By using the carrot and stick method, Li says, the Conservatives would be able to gain a supermajority, making passage of Conservative policies easier and more difficult to overturn. The controversy of the secret offer came 1 day after Randy Chang Wen, a centrist Labour MLA, has threatened to switch to the Conservatives if his party continues to pressure the Prime Minister by demanding that he set up a select committee on the mistreatment of Pro-Democracy activists. Yesterday, there was further controversy when Mr Chang was quoted as saying on the People's Daily:

Further evidence which suggest further affiliations with the Red Rabbits is in Li Ting's apartment where large bricks of cocaine are found underneath the bed. Police however, refused to confirm if the Li's are Red Rabbit gangsters. |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Public to cast vote in 2014 General Election. The general public will make their feelings heard as they cast their ballot at the polling station for the 2014 General Election. As with previous elections, all MLA seats are up for grabs whilst only a third of Senate seats are up on the ballot. Polling stations will open from 7 AM to 7 PM today. Turnout is usually low although the True Conservative Movement and their followers are expect to turn out in droves. Most polls suggest that the Conservatives will increase their majorities in both chambers of the Assembly. Some Conservative MLAs are considering mounting a leadership challenge against PM Lin. whom they feel is too centrist and not consistant with Conservative values. |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese)![]() Conservatives increase majority in Assembly. The Conservative Party have increased their majority in both chambers of the Assembly, whilst Labour Democrat and Marxist Parties lose seats. Hailing the results as a victory, the centre right party have made further gains in the traditionally Labour safe seats of Pyongjing, Sing Ren, Port To and Port Sung. Leader of the Opposition Li An Ying has barely re-elected when he ran for the seat of Anda, 20 miles north of Choi Central, receiving 200 more votes than his Conservative opponent. Mr Li's former seat was part of the controversial redistricting policy, which many Labour MLAs accuse the President of gerrymandering. Chen the Fedora Wearing Man suprisingly won a 4th term in office in his Harcheng Seat by a wafer thin majority of 33 seats. He previously won the seat by 390 votes in 2012. Mr Chen did not wished to be interviewed by BLCTV News but sent a spokesperson whom she referred to herself as 'an attractive messenger'. As expected, Andrei Vladmir Bolak of the Kashgar Democratic Party retained his seat by 55 votes. Mr Bolak will only cast key votes through a 'personal assistant'. There is no law which suggest that MLAs should have a physical presence to vote and will allow exceptions depending on the office holder's condition. Results for Lower House (BLCTV News Final Projection) Labour - 145 (Down from 190) Conservatives - 318 (Up from 260) Green - 1 Democrat - 3 (Down from 7) Marxist - 25 (Down from 34) Other - 7 The Senate result is expected later today. |
