Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese) BREAKING NEWS: BAI LUNGESE HIGH COURT DECLARES CHEN JONG SUN CELEBRATION BAN UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Judges from the Bai Lungese High Court have declared a law banning the glorification or celebration of late Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun, as unconstitutional. The group of 9 judges have unanimously declared the Bai Lung Anti-Dictator 2010 to be against Freedom of Speech and Expression according to Article 1 of the Bai Lungese Constitution which stipulates that:
The Bai Lung Anti-Dictator Act 2010 was hastily rushed into the lower house and passed by a majority with Labour and Conservative Parties making a rare agreement after both parties refuses to make bipartisan agreements on almost all issues. The bill was created to avoid conflict between supporters of the Chenite regimes and detractors, the worst cases of conflicts taking place on 2nd January and 11th September, the days of Chen's birthday and death respectively. Since the act was taken into effect since June this year, it was met with mixed reactions. Some praising the bill for making the country move on from it's brutal pass, while others criticised the bill for impinging on freedom of expression. A spokesman for President Im has stated that he would appeal against the decision and re-implement the act if successful. |

Todays Headline from New BLCTV News. Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese) Stephen T. Ding hospitalised in protest scuffle. ![]() Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding has been hospitalised after a series of scuffles between pro-Chen Jong Sun and anti-Chen Jong Sun protesters in the streets of Port Sung on Monday morning. The 50 year old was in the Provincial capital to protest against the over-ruling of the Anti-Dictator Act 2010 by the High Court Judges which forbids celebration of controversial leaders such as Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun, who died nearly 4 years ago. At the protest march, Ding would announce that he and the Conservatives would work with the Labour party to make 'acceptable' amendments to the act in a rare bipartisan agreement. The anti-Chen protests were counter-protested by pro-Chen supporters in Hung Wu Street, in support and tribute of the late Stlanist leader. When the two sides met, a set of barriers consisting of bollards and riot police stood firm to the two sides separate and to prevent the impending riots. The clashes initially started with taunting and rude gestures from both sides but as the hours passed, the protests escalated in violence despite the imposed segregation of the two sides by police. Pre-Chen and anti-Chen protesters hurled bottles and bricks at one another but police managed to contain the dividing protests before a full scale riot broke loose. The protests were called off at 5.30PM after the local council expressed 'grave concerns' over public and private property damage caused by the riots. Police have officially reported that 60 people were injured and 29 people were arrested. Mr Ding is reportedly amongst the 60 people injured in the clashes. Eye witnesses report say that Mr Ding was hit by a 'flying projectile', rendering him unconscious and with a bloodied face. Mr Ding remains in hospital in a non-critical condition. No one has been charged with Mr Ding's injury. |

BLCTV News has been hijacked at 2 different occasions, by people claiming to be members of the Nationalist junta. In the two messages, they claimed that President Im is not the leader of the Free Republic of Bai Lung and that they are the real leaders of the country. They praised the High Court Judges for removing the Bai Lung Anti-Dictator Act 2010 by declaring it a breach of the Bai Lungese Constitution. The Nationalist junta ruled from 1950-1962 and briefly in 2007, overthrowing General Xu Lin Wei. The junta threatened and eventually attacked neighbouring Dannistaan, accusing them of housing forming Chenite leader Xu Lin Wei. The Dannistrian army retaliated by attacking key Nationalist bases and overthrew the government 3 months later. No one has been caught to date for the hijackings but police are asking the public to report any suspicious activities by phoning the emergency number and asking for the police department. |

A supporter of LGBT rights, Kim explained his reasons for the veto:
A poll was taken shortly after Mr Kim's speech, with his approval ratings plummeting to 5%, down from 28%. The same poll asked if people would favour recalling Mr Kim, 92% said yes. Mr Kim never had high approval ratings since taking office in 2007. Narrowly re-elected in June this year by a margin of 24 votes, Kim a Labour Party member, faces criticisms from constituents for his 'knee jerk policies'. The 4th LGBT Pride Parade is due to be held on the 21st August. |

Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese) Conservative Party in schism after 'Hitler' tirade made by Stephen T. Ding. The leader of the Conservative party Stephen T. Ding is facing serious criticism from senior Tory members after he compared Prime Minister Kenny Cuthbert to Adolf Hitler and the Nahrin National Assembly as the Third Reich. Shortly after his release from hospital in Choi, Mr Ding was invited by NDNR host Eddie Lo'hk Danson for a radio interview to debate about the on going watch controversy between Bai Lung and the Nahrin Union. Giving a full frontal assault on PM Cuthbert, Mr Ding has repeatedly used the term Hitler and Hitlerite 55 times to describe the Cuthbert Ministry and comparing the Nahrin Union policies to that of Nazi Germany during a heated debate with Nahrin Union backbencher MP Tony Gerri.
He has also criticised the country for for it's various policies such as lack of a free market, the mass surveillance of Nahrinese citizens, mandatory abortions, the secular society, the usage of minders on RTL sanctioned countries, and compulsory rehab classes, likening these classes to the Holocaust.
Mr Gerri, who is a member of the ruling Nahrin Liberal Union has defended Mr Cuthbert's policies. He stated that his country believes in 'fairness and equality' and where 'no single religion should dominate over the other'.
To add further insult to injury, he compared Mr Gerri to that of Nazi Propagandist Joseph Goebbels, and President Emma Jones as military commander Heinrich Himmler. He immediately hung up in the debate afterwards.
Senior Tory MPs and Senators have condemned Mr Ding's statements as being over the line and against the party line. Depute leader Ban Hee-Guo gave a statement on the on going controversy.
BLCTV News tried to contact the office of Mr Ding but received no reply at the time of this publication. |

At least 10 captives survived, 5 of whom were seen crawling out the back door of the bus after NBLPF stormed it Monday evening when the hostage-taker started taking shooting at the 28 passengers inside. According to Senior Superintendent Billy Ko, the hostage-taker was killed with a sniper shot to the after he wounded 2 police officers. The Uzbari coach hostage incident is part of a wave of Kashgar related terrorism that has been rocking the mainland. On the early hours of last Friday, a man also of Kashgar origin used a tricycle to blow up a market place in Kyrgyzbari, killing 7 people. He was immediately arrested and is being questioned by the police. The State mainland government issued a warning to Mao island residents not to travel to the mainland territory and requested that non-mainland Bai Lungese still in the mainland return. The crisis began when a Kashgar man, Sergei Ulh-Biushar, 38, armed with an AK-74 rifle seized the busload of Bai Lungese, demanding for 'Kashgar independence from Bai Lungese occupation'. He also boasted to the police that he has enough explosives to 'blow up all of Uzbari if they attempt to kill him. Little is known about the hostage taker, other than a tattoo bearing the symbol of the Kashgar Liberation Front. Police said they stormed the bus after they saw Ulh-Biushar open fire on the hostages. Crouching outside the vehicle, commandos in flak jackets, used a hammer to smash the side windows, the door and windshield. Police surrounded the bus, the road was sealed off, with ambulances and fire trucks parked. The standoff was recorded live on television. The curtains on the bus windows were drawn and two police negotiators were seen walking to and from the bus negotiating with Uhl-Biushar with no avail. Shortly after Mr Ulh-Biushar's fatal injury, the bomb disposal squad were at the scene to diffuse the bomb attached to him. President Im told reporters that he expressed his condolences to those who died in the hostage siege. At the same time however, he also expressed anger and shock at the police response. When asked if he would implement military action in key Kashgar cities, he simply replied 'Not at the moment'. |

The mayor of Choi Kim Shi Lo has lost his bid to keep his job as mayor as an overwhelming number of people voted in favour of recall Mr Kim. Yesterday, a referendum was held in the city to ask people if they favour replacing Mr Kim as Mayor of Choi or to keep him as mayor. With 99% of votes already counted in, a massive 98.6% voted in favour of the recall while only 1.4% opposed a recall. The referendum stipulates that Mr Kim is barred from running for mayor again. His support for gay rights has attributed to his unpopularity. Mr Kim has announced that his Depute Mayor Fang Er Shi would run for the position. President's Im's veto of a highly controversial amendment to the Bai Lung Travel Restrictions Act 2009 has been over-ridden by the lower house for the first time in Im's Presidential rule. The amendment will now quadruple all of the existing penalties if any citizen from a RTL sanctioned country visits Bai Lung. The individual will now be fined $80,000, up from $20,000 and a 20 year prison sentence, up from 5 years. The amendment is a very polarising issue amongst party lines. The Conservative party voted unanimously voted in favour of the amendment, over half of Labour MPs voted against it, as well as half of the Marxist party voted for the amendment. It was this divisiveness which resulted in the successful passing of this amendment 337-162. However on last Monday, President Im vetoed the amendment, calling it 'totally unnecessary'. Under current Bai Lungese law, 325 MPs is required (2/3 majority) to over-ride any President's veto. Today, 327 MPs voted in favour of over-riding President Im's veto against 172 who voted against the over-riding . The 10 MPs who vote for the amendment, chose not to over-ride the veto. Bai Lung Travel Restrictions Act 2009 (Amended 2010) will take place at the end of November. |

Ding: 'Defend the shareholders, not the miners!'. Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding has defended the bosses of Da Shan Minining Corp, after a mining shaft was blocked by collapsing boulders. On 5th August, 35 miners remain trapped in the Cho An Jang mine in Chen Tai Soon. Rescue efforts are underway to bring back the miners to surface but efforts are being hampered as a result of a mixture between bureaucracy and rainy weather. The 50 year old opposition leader has vigorously defended the executives and shareholders, praising them for their strong profits in the last quarter.
When asked about the safety of the miners, he replied:
President Im has condemned the statements made by Mr Ding, vowing to rescue the trapped workers as soon as possible.
It is estimated that it would take 3-4 months to reach the miners who are trapped around 750m underground. |

Full stories available on www.newblctvnews.bl (Articles also available in English, Dannistrian and Dovakhanese) Approx 495 Kashgar fighters killed in Operation Mainland Freedom. Almost 500 Kashgar insurgents are reportedly killed in the first day of Operation Mainland Freedom. The executive order was signed by President Im as a response to the ever increasing numbers of terrorist related activities in the Mainland. On August 21st, a man also of Kashgar origin rode a tricycle into a busy crowd in the market place of Kyrgyzbari and detonated an explosive device that killed 7 people. The man was arrested and is being questioned by police. On August 23rd, a Kashgar man held several hostages in a commuting bus at the city centre of Uzbari in which 9 people died, including the gun man. This occurred 2 days after the tricycle explosion. This year also saw a 3000% increase in kidnappings by Kashgar insurgents. As of August this year, 8400 people are reported missing. By comparison, 280 people were kidnapped by Kashgar people last year. To date, nobody has been prosecuted for any kidnappings. Only 4 days after the Uzbari bus hostage, President Im has sign Executive Order 9861, authorising an attack in key terrorist hideouts in Uzbari. It is widely believed that Kashgar Liberation Front leader Bashir Farabhazi is hiding in the predominately Kashgar city. President Im has stated to the press on Friday that the attack will consist of 'four tiers', starting with 'tier one attack'. A mixture of WZ-10 helicopters, B-2 and Xian H-6 bombers are used in the first steps to attack western and southern parts of Uzbari.
