The Choi council have unanimously passed a resolution barring chefs from cooking dishes deemed as 'unauthentically Bai Lungese'. The list includes General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, chop suey, fortune cookies and prawn crackers. The council concluded that these dishes are considered to be overseas inventions made to cater to western tastes. Korean dishes are also included in the ban. As one True Conservative Movement activists based in Choi said of the decision: "This is Bai Lung. We are interested in making the most authentic recipe without any adjectives. The Chinese cuisine is indivisible and any outside influence will fuzzy up the culture we are holding on so firmly to." |

Over 1 million police have been deployed in Bai Lung's busiest streets as citizens are ordered to stay in their homes during New-Years Day. The curfew, which has been in place since 2007, was designed to prevent people who are sympathetic to late Stalinst dictator Chen Jong Sun from celebrating his birthday, the 1st of January. Most civilians are affected by this curfew but essential personel such as police, fire fighters and ambulance crew are exempt. The ban is one that brings polarising views. Every year, BLCTV News surveys hundreds of people to give their view on the curfew. A 2016 year end yielded a similar result to the 2015 poll with 49% of people supporting the curfew with 48% opposing it. 3% remain unsure. Marxist leader Jonnie Ting remains defiant against the curfew, vowing to parade the streets of Pyongjing. |

Amongst those arrested include the Marxist leader Jonnie Ting who made it clear that he would ignore the curfew and would celebrate the birthday of Chen. Controversial film director Marcel Chen is preparing to restore his 2007 epic film Blood Paw and intends to re-relase the film in June this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the film's original release. The film, set during the pre-colonial days of Dannistaan, was well received by critics but was criticised by some quarters as being racist and savagely violent. The film ultimately grossed 36,000,000 Ailuropoda in the box office, making it one of Chen's most financially successful films. Mr Chen and cinematographer Ron Wei are restoring the film in 4K resolution, using the original camera negatives. Wei said of the restoration during an interview with Moving Pictures: "When the film was released 10 years, the mastering was not handled very well. The technology to preserve the film to our original vision was not there. 10 years have since passed and we have the technology to restore the film to how it supposed to look like when we envisioned it." |

The Marxist and Labour parties have strongly criticised some Conservative MLAs for celebrating the 22nd January 2007 Nationalist coup after a video emerged online showing them doing so. The video, which lasts 10 minutes, shows True Conservative Movement politicians such as Woo Han making a speech, praising the Nationalist junta for their part in overthrowing the Chenite regime. Mr Woo then called for a similar approach made to the Liang administration, calling him a far-left traitor. The day of celebration marks 10 years since the overthrowing of the Stalinist regime. Several TCM politicians posted online statements confirming their involvement but adding that they were going to post a video sooner. |
