Former Deputy Interim Admin Ling Wei has claimed that former President Richard Im had paid him BL$250,000 in return that he never testifies should Im never resigned before the impeachment hearings. Speaking on the 2nd day of the Im corruption case, Mr Wei said that in June 2012, he was presented with a check given to by Tyrone Tai, one of many assistants to the President. A note was also attached to the cheque, saying "The money is yours as long as you keep quiet during this storm." "This storm", Ling claims, refers to the 3 charges that Mr Im is facing. He then showed the folded up cheque before an audience of 100 as proof. Mr Im's defence lawyer Brooklyn Bing went on the defence by disputing the quality of Mr Ling's evidence. Bing then called Mr Ling a 'money grubbing opportunist'. Day 3 of the Im hearings continue tomorrow. Edited by Bai Lung, Mar 1 2017, 03:55:53 AM.

Former Labour MLA Wes Bao Lan has claimed that former President Richard Im had planned to give more plots of land away to private construction firm SPDR after he gave them permission to build 15 high rise apartments in Hapkido district, Southern Pyongjing. In the third day of the hearings, Mr Bao claimed that the telephone conversation took place on 15th September. He was speaking to Senior Sales Executive Ron Ste'vehns about plans to raze 1,000 acres of trees to make way for 'two dozen flats and a shopping mall'. As Im remained silent as directed by his laywer, Brooklyn Bing continued on with the defence, claiming that the giveaway is a policy of the Liang administration and the True Conservative Movement. He went on to claim that Mr Bao is testifying against his boss as a distraction to ensure that the TCM would give every piece of land in Bai Lung to 'every private company.' |

Former Labour MLA from Jimen has blasted his former bnss and President of Bai Lung Richard Im for considering plans to use Executive Powers to override the Port Sung countil and authorise the demolition of the Victoria docks. Wang Kebing said that around February 2012, Mr Im was frustrated by fact that the Conservative controlled council refused to demolish the docks and give private companies like Yansheng Industries a building permit. "[Im] wanted to use Executive powers to force demolition of Victoria docks. He was stopped by the Conservative controlled council who opposed his plans so he contemplated plans to override their powers and get that dock knocked down. We ultimately talked him out of it but I figured out he could have went through with the plan near the end of his 2nd term. That is, if he did not resign and have been embroiled with this scandal." |

A spokesperson for BLCTV said that it is the top priority of the station to provide a fair and balanced view of current affairs. Former President of Bai Lung Richard Im gave over BL$3 million to the Nahrin Union in compensation on top of the handing over a watch commissioned by the late General Theodore Smyth to the Nationalist Junta during the 1950's. In Day thirteen of the trial, outspoken Conservative MLA Darrell Ai Sha disputed Im's claims that the 20 carat gold watch shown on National TV is fake. He claimed that the footage of the seemingly fake watch was merely a demonstration by the state government to remind viewers of what the timepiece actually looked like. Despite Im's lawyer Brooklyn Bing trying his utmost best to defend him from the worst allegations, Mr Ai pointed out that the Nahrin government would never show the actual watch on the TV as well as disclose the whereabouts. He added that neither Im nor Kenny Cuthbert disclosed how much money was given to the latter. Mr Ai presented a scrunched up communique that simply reads: "K, your 4 million is there. R I." Conservative MLA Carson Cui has claimed that former President of Bai Lung Richard Im has deliberately blocked plans to lease land to private company Sunny Ha Corp because of their links to the Conservative party. The clothes factory had made a request in 2011 to the then-Im administration to build a chain of stores outside of Port To and Zibo but the President deliberately turned them down. The company's donations to the Conservative are well known as evident by the well publicised story of CEO Cui An donating BL$1.5 million to the Conservative party in the 2010 general election. Mr Cui claimed that 200 jobs could have been created if Im did not 'score cheap political points'. Day twenty seven continues. Presidential Election 2017: Lin Zhang leads poll. ![]() Conservative candidate Lin Zhang (Pictured above, centre) is leading the poll for the first in the upcoming Presidential elections which is due to held on April 15th. According to the Bai Lungese Poll of Polls, Mrs Lin is gaining 48% of prospective voters compared to Independent candidate Johnnie Ho Fan's 45% (Above right) whilst Labour candidate Kang Na (Above left) only get 7% of the vote. In 2016, incumbent C.Y Liang has announced that he will not stand for a 2nd term. Mrs Lin, who would become Bai Lung's first female president if she wins, is reported to be a hardline Conservative. Combined with her close association with the True Conservative Movement, she is a favourite amongst an energised Conservative base. She has repeatedly vowed to repeal every legislation approved by the former Richard Im administration and some of C.Y Liang's policies. Mr Ho, considered by many as the 'establishment candidate', campaigned in central Port Sung and met with floating voters. He warned against Mrs Lin's hardline social and economic policies including the abolishing the use Korean language signages and imposing a flat 10% income rate tax. Mr Kang was in Sing Ren meeting and greeting floating voters. A social liberal, Mr Kang spoke out against bigotry and re-iterated his support for LGBT rights. Brooklyn Bing, the lawyer who is representing former President of Bai Lung Richard Im, is warning the jury that his client would face the death penalty if Lin Zhang became President. Day 27 saw yet another 'character assassination' on the former leader, this time by Jing Shi, a TCM activist. Mr Jing claimed that Mr Im gave kickbacks to Cheng Han Yuan Enterprises because they donated BL$250,000 to his party in 2010. Mr Bing said that the trial is merely a show trial initiated by the Liang administration to cover up Liang's own corruption. Mr Bing claimed that Lin Zhang, a True Conservative Movment endorsed candidate, would want to see the death penalty imposed on his client whilst ignoring the corruption of her predecessor. Day twenty eight continues. |
