What do you all think about setting up a few easy to find topics for visitors to see:

(1) The History of the Phedre Invasion

(2) Testimony of Nations Threatened or Punished by the Empire

(3) FAQ on endorsing and withdrawing endorsements from Phedre

I think this will bring even more people to www.theeastpacific.com

Nations that appear to have arrived only to endorse Phedre:

1. The Federation of Division 11 (endorsed Phedre after arriving and 1 minute after being admitted to WA)

2. The Combat Patrol of Acecombat (been snooping around, moving through several regions, came back and immediately endorsed Phedre)

3. The Principality of Denarian Knight (same creepy flag as Phedre)

I've tried to engage all three in conversation with no response.

New nations that have appeared and endorsed Dannistaan or ASBS:

1. The Interstellar Hive of Packilvania (and we know that story)

Who is Anime Daisuki? Don't contact this nation, but please let me know if I should be concerned if I am contacted by him/her/it.

Nations ejected (or possibly banned) by Phedre, according to "the purified lands" forum. Should any of these nations be contacted?

The Kingdom of Bardar
The Emirate of Outer Kharkistania
The Republic of Govindia (banned I think)
The Empire of Gauron316 (banned I think)
The Republic of Dublin and the rest
The Free Land of Morhams
The Empire of The SSL Coalition (banned I think)
The Invisible Rogue Nation of Estellerian Empire (banned)
The Oppressed Peoples of Men Working (banned)

I did send a note to Morhams, mostly apologizing for the lack of attention from ASBS when that nation was challenging Phedre.

It is just me or does anyone else find it odd that Lady Tisiphone is the constant annoying mouthpieces for Phedre, but Tisiphone has not joined the WA and has not endorsed Phedre?

Doesn't that limit her credibility?

No. It either means that her WA nation is tied deelgate of another region (Fae?) or perhaps active elsewhere, or she is in TEP, endorsing Phedre with another nation.

Thanks. I now understand it from strategic perspective. I've approached this from a much more simplistic this is my nation and this is my region. Now, either play nice of go away.

A question for those who know more about this kind of stuff:

I have a telegram ready to go, but who should I send it to? Who needs to get the message and where would it be most effective?

I'm not an expert, but I've sent a lot of them in the last 20 days.

I think the priorities are:

(1) WA nations who know you and are not endorsing Dannistaan or ASBS.

(2) WA nations who know you and are endorsing Lady Phedre.

(3) WA nations who don't know you and are endorsing Lady Phedre.

(4) WA nations who don't know you and are not endorsing Dannistaan or ASBS.

(5) All the other nations in TEP. :)

Thanks for your help.

This was a fascinating exchange, in response to Nylter's angry post. Kandary had noted that regional governments can't exist for sleeping giants. You need to be involved.

Biyah: Exactly.

Kandary: *ahem* That doesn't mean they should go around actively punishing those that don't get involved. That's just a bad idea.

Biyah: If we were trying to punish those who didnt get involved, we'd have done it before when Phedre had enough umph to remove all non-wa's who arent on the forum :-P

Kandary: I think it has just been categorically proven that she never did have that umph.

Biyah: Nope, I removed a couple people with high influence, which wiped her down. Looking back in hind sight, I wish I hadnt now. Live and learn.

Phedre: I wasn't always a minnow, Kandy. If I'd wanted to just start punishing people for not being involved, I'd have done it then when I had far more influence.

Kandary: Indeed, Influence does accumulate for non-WA nations. Take, for example, the nation of Free Pacific states (Who, incidentally, is on the forum). He's a Truckler because, despite never being in the WA, he's been in the EP since Influence got started.

Biyah: Mmm hmm. Point being, we could boot people randomly until the sun goes down. There's no point in it.

Kandary: Yeah, but you became a Minnow in the process of discovering that you can't, in fact, do that.

Phedre: I became a minnow when, while caring for my nation, Biyah needed to remove a threat that had significant influence, Kandy.

Kandary: And what threat was that?

No reply from Phedre or Biyah, but a new player enters the conversation.

Harm some: I was one of the nations booted. Lady Phedre explained to me what happened, and invited me back in with an apology. So instead of moving around aimlessly I decided to make TEP my home, and I wish Lady Phedre well. She seems like a perfectly nice person to me, and I would endorse her if I could, but the WA seems a bit too U.N.ish to me. Bad for nation sovereignty. I can't justify joining that organization that teams with hypocrisy.

Kandary: Why did you just spend the last twenty minutes moving around to conceal your past activities such that nobody can possibly confirm that you were ever, in fact, ejected?

Since I spent a lot time looking at those 150-200 nations, and I don't remember any nation with the memorable name of "Harm some," and the memorable motto of "Kill it!", I think Kandary was right on target with this one.

I don't have a lot from (1) and (2). I've gone for those endorsing Lady Phedre. No doubt some of them are part of the invader group but I doubt it matters.

Quote:

Fellow region member,

It is more than likely that you have received a fair share of messages over the current situation in the  region, some of them from the group calling itself The Empire. Back in August 2008 when they first  region-crashed the East Pacific, they had a messsage for you too:

"The East Pacific has been purified; it is now the seat of power for The Empress and the Empire. Under the  command of the Empress, the Lady Phedre, our Legions shall stalk victoriously into the NS world and remove  the filth that covers it...  You may sink to your knees and beg the Empress for mercy"

Chances are that you may not know a whole lot of background to all this, but briefly: there are groups of  players in this game who engage in the practice of "region-crashing" or "invading", which involves moving  into an existing region and endorsing one of their own as Delegate, displacing the native Delegate. It was  because of this practice that the Influence system was instituted. The Empire is one such group, and as one  of the game's largest regions and a "feeder", one of those regions where newly created nations are placed,  The East Pacific is a highly prestigious prize to them. This is one of the likely reasons they call  themselves "The Empire" and their forums "The Purified Lands", rather than "The East Pacific".

That alone, I hope you agree, might be enough of an indignity for our region, but Lady Phedre has gone  further with hundreds of basically random random ejections of East Pacific nations for "regional security".  She even claimed her child was sick - which can't be proven either way, yet is quite questionable because of the convenience of the timing and because there definitely were not, as The Empire's representatives say, any prior statements about it - to explain the general inactivity of The  Empire. Even if it was true, to accuse A Slanted Black Stripe of "exploiting" it when he was simply riding a  tide of opposition to The Empire's actions is tremendously unfair and borders on a personal attack.

I'm sure by now you can predict what I hope to convince you to do: remove your endorsement from Lady Phedre.  If you want to go further, I hope you will endorse A Slanted Black Stripe and Dannistaan too, if you have not already done so.

Finally, I enclose the following links to the messageboards which have been the home of the East Pacific  community since 2003, and still are. I invite you to get involved in the discussion to clarify any doubts you  still have, and to seek out the truth for yourself, because I am confident that it will vindicate what I have  said.

Lord Rahl/Biyah's message can be viewed fully here:
http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/The_East...?showtopic=5831

Ongoing discussion of the current situation can be seen here:
http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/The_East...?showtopic=6034

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and I wish you all the best.

NationStates Moderators: Honestly, stop. You're reporting the mildest of things trying to get us to take care of nations you find troublesome in holding the_east_pacific, and that's looking a heck of a lot like Mods as a Weapon. Eject or ban them, put them on ignore -- just don't try to use us as a cricket bat for second grade schoolyard insults.

I wonder if this is another sign that Phedre has little influence left. Or Biyah wanting people to think so.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure that I understand the question. Records of what? Which nations are in which category? No, I just scroll through the list of nations, or the endorsement lists of the various players.

Thanks.

Not really. A nation got really annoyed at being banned and sent some complaining TGs to Biyah and Neenee.

Biyah reported these to the mods. Classic tactic in feeder wars - if you can get the opposition banned, it looks bad AND gets rid of an opponent.

But the mods are getting tired of being used this way. Hence one of the mods has modslapped Biyah.

EM will lick the boots of whoever is in power, right up until the time a better offer comes along. once Phedre is gone, he will be back here as if nothing has happened.

Well, well, well, not that it matters now, but Emperor Matthuis is now endorsing ASBS. Is it safe to say that he is only loyal to his interests?

Allow me to address a few things here.

Anime Daisuki is a fellow defender, and part of the defender group that helped you recently, and part of the group (which I was a part of both) that tried to help the region when Phedre's troops invaded.

Outer Kharkistania and my nations (Govindia, Denivogar), should be off the ban list. :ph43r:

Not a problem ASBS, a lot was happening at the time, and if anything by ejecting me Phedre used up all her influence!
