==File Begins== TOP SECRET REPORT INTO AQUINAS NETWORK MACHINE IDENTIFICATION AND CAPABILITIES Filed by: [Classified] This report looks specifically at a number of models of machines used by the Aquinas Network. Images are attached to help with identification and an assessment of capabilities is included where possible. “Ambassador” Machine ![]() This image was taken by the AquinasNet embassy in Liberty City. The machine is humanoid in appearance and of human size and build (approx. 1.8 metres tall). The head is a flat oval with a mirror-like surface when activated it displays the “face” of the Aquinas Network as seen in the image attached below. ![]() The ‘head’ has a range of sensors built in [we presume- Section Chief], along with speakers to allow the machine to communicate. The speaker grille is just below the oval head. This machines primary function is communication with humans, as variants of this machine are used by the AquinasNet at the Liberty City embassy and on Christie Island. Due to the lack of any other designation the machine is generally referred to as the Ambassador and is accorded the appropriate respect, as per the diplomatic guidelines. The exact nature of the machines inbuilt capabilities are unknown. These machines tend to have a connection with the Aquinas Network when engaging in negotiations, we do not currently know how well they can act independently. The connection between the Network and the machine is protected by an incredibly complicated evolving encryption. (like all observed AquinasNet linkages [see file: Aquinas Network Technology 23a]). When negotiating with the machine it should be remembered that it will not display any of the characteristics (body language, tone of voice, etc) one would normally expect. It also, having a hard drive rather than a brain, has perfect recall. Further information will be added when we have a better assessment of the machines capabilities. “Standard” Combat Unit ![]() This illustration shows the standard combat unit of the Aquinas Network. This picture was drawn by the famed artist Hans von Lipwing from the city-state of Roi. Lipwing, who has supplied us with a number of detailed drawing of AquinasNet machinery, saw them first hand during the joint AquinasNet/Krechzianko invasion of Great Bay/Roi. This combat machine stands about two metres tall, slightly taller and much bulkier than an average human. It is equipped with integral machine guns on the right arm [One of ~5mm and one of ~15mm calibre- estimated) and is encased in fairly heavy armour. These machines are resistant to small arms fire and should be engaged with heavy weaponry. Concentrated fire did destroy a number during the Roi invasion, so it is possible to cause damage with normal infantry weapons. On the offensive these machines are well armed for anti-infantry operations. They are highly accurate, even on the move. Due to the number of these machines we do not believe that they are directly controlled by the Network under normal circumstances. This does mean they are designed with a degree of independence but though undoubtedly well programmed with information on combat tactics their weakness is their inability to deal with unexpected or unorthodox tactics. Surprise attacks and hit and run attacks were the most successful against the Aquinas Network in the battle for Roi [See separate file for more information. N.B More successful is relative. Roi losses were significantly larger than AquinasNet losses, in surprise attacks this did decrease slightly but the human cost was still significantly larger than the damage sustained by the machines). We would like to obtain better imagery to allow further analysis of these machines. This file will be updated when additional information is obtained. “Aerodyne” Fighter Aircraft ![]() Image capture of AquinasNet combat aircraft "Aerodyne", taken during Dovakan crisis. These aircraft have many similarities with the jet fighters of the more advanced nations. Most weapons are carried internally to reduce radar silhouette and improve performance. The aerodyne carries the sort of weaponry expected for a jet fighter. It has a number of cannons and can carry a range of missiles, exact specifications are currently unknown. Pilots in the Dovakan crisis witnessed these aircraft pulling around 12 G's. Because it obviously lacks a human pilot the aerodyne is able to endure forces that a human could not. it is very fast and highly manoeuvrable but the view of the air force is that its lack of a human pilot does mean that a highly skilled pilot might be able to outthink it. However this is not based on any empirical evidence and is based on the limitations of the computer programs used in our simulators, which are often surprised by unexpected manoeuvres pulled by human pilots. It should be expected that the software of these aircraft is far beyond that we use in our simulators however and though we have no combat footage from the Dovakan crisis we can expect the machine to be a superb pilot. Our analysis is that an inexperienced pilot would be no match for this machine. An experienced pilot may be able to out fly one of these aerodynes but we will need combat footage to be able to reach a more substantive conclusion. ==End of Report== OOC This is done in the format of some kind of intel report. I’ve left it generic as this is what would be available to most intelligence agencies in the region. |
