Honourable Mention
Anumia gained 8 of the 51 write-in selections.

Notes
-- I mistakenly listed the player known as "Anime Daisuki" twice. This was due to Goddess Relief Office being automatically included under the "top 25 founders" group and AD being listed under the "10 defenders" group. My apologies, I missed that error. To compensate, 1/3 of the votes from GRO were attributed to AD (GRO had 12 votes, so AD gained 4 votes.)
-- There were a couple names left off the original 100 that came up frequently in the write-in box. Anumia was the biggest one with 8 votes. For the next survey, any nation that earned 2 votes or more will be included on the original 100: Anumia, 1 Infinite Loops, Omigodtheykilledkenny, and Queen Rose.
-- 4 players who were actually were on the original 100 were given votes in the write-in box: Drop Your Pants, The Bruce, Falconias and Assorro. All of these only occurred once and were added to the player's total.
-- No, I did not fabricate my own results, lol. If anyone questions any of the rankings (their own, or someone else's), contact me and I can supply you with evidence.
-- 2 players did not get a single vote, which I have omitted from this list. One of them I was extremely surprised that he did not get a single vote... oh well.

* indicates region not included in the original 50

Honourable Mention
Audux gained 3 of the 31 write-in selections.

Notes
-- The most important note I have to make is that 4 people entered "The Commonwealth" in the write-in box, and one person simply used the write-in box to tell me to include alliances. Alliances are NOT regions, and including them can be very messy and awkward to use. The Commonwealth is an membership-based alliance of regions, disqualifying them from region contention. However, Alteran Empire, LWU and TKoI were all included in the list, which are members of the Commonwealth, and Audux gained the most write-in votes.
-- Speaking of write-in votes, I will use the same criteria; any region with 2 or more votes will be included in the next list. Thus, Audux, Ulthar and LKE will qualify for the next survey.
-- One region did not garner a single vote and has been omitted from this list... but open further review I realized that it was a registered school class :P just a really, really large one....

Wow, most influential person, and most influential region. Sweet!

Since I wasn't really clear in the last thread, I might as well restate this more overtly here. I find this survey to be very questionable (flattering, yes, but questionable). This is because it's aimed only at a very narrow segment of NS.

Now, I understand that you probably didn't think that when you created it, and this is perfectly understandable. NSers are very, very insular. There are about six different spheres of the NS community, but for the most part people stick to one and disregard the validity of the other five, if they even recognize their existence. A survey of the most important NSers in NS General took many pages before anyone mentioned Francos Spain. The Empire stuffed all "roleplayers" into one category and so failed to recognize that much of their would-be subjects weren't roleplaying at all. And when the topic of changes to the Influence system came up recently, the NS technical forum was flooded with Jolt RPers demanding the suppression of anyone who would change a status quo that favors them - despite the fact that few of them have ever used Influence or (sheltered in Founder regions as they are) would be affected by a change.

Your survey mentions only figures in the games of regional war, diplomacy, and government. Nowhere are there NSers prominent in RP (whether narrative or actual roleplaying) or discussion or internal region-building. I understand that you haven't had reason to hear of many of those people, but a lot of them are much more important than many of those you have listed. Having gone to great and time-consuming lengths to prevent my own survey from becoming this way, I could not vote in a survey that (to choose one example out of the many I could think of) includes Govindia but not Scolopendra.

People like me haven't even heard of Francos Spain...

I agree with Kand's point of NSers being very insular. I hardly know many of the names on the list...

And I'm surprised at Gatesville being ranked so high, when they are so stagnant, really.

The guy was me, and what can I say? :D

I agree with YaM on Kand's point being verified by this, half of those names in the 'most influential' I don't know or I've only heard the name of.

As I've said elsewhere, I think this survey only makes sense when considered as a measure of publicity and fame among heavily gameplay-oriented regions. It is in no way a reflection of power and influence, but it shows nicely who (and which regions) the people in those regions would have heard the most about. Todd McCloud may not be the movingest and shakingest of feeder delegates in history, but he sure has the most publicity in recent times. Quintessence of Dust may be the most influential person in Wysteria, but we've all heard more about the Bruce. And while Govindia may have no power, influence or even much respect anywhere, being nigh-universally despised means that a whole lot of people have heard about him. A more well-worded and well-distributed survey might have revealed something about influence, but this shows some interesting things about publicity.
