"Sounds expensive" Vesila remarked. "Not much for military mindedness, but I am aware of the limitations. One can't give everything on an aircraft like that, unless they planned on dumping a lot of cash into it. Again, I'm not really familiar with military, but it has been Vekaiyu's norm to find a balance between technology and money." Visela felt like going into detail about Vekaiyu's recent embarkments into particle acceleration and particle canon technology stolen from Packilvania, but it was only for a moment. She simply continue to eat her food. "It's a fine line to trade technology. People are often too greedy and will try to find ways to take advantage of such things. Which is why I'm hesitant to allow for any Vekaiyun technology to be sold or traded. But that's not really up to me to decide." |

Anna smirked. What Visela didn't know was that Vulshain was experiencing a benefical economic boom. Vulshain's unemployment rates had pummleted from 9% when her brother had taken the throne to now a little less than 6%. Which meant: more jobs for people, and the recent alliance with Southern Yugoslavia also helped out too, allowing Vulshain to acquire and develop new technologies. Of course, it would be expensive, but that's how the world works. Still, Anna could learn some more of Vekaiyu's research, too. She wasn't stealing, only learning and taking notes, which was nowhere near being the same thing as stealing right? "I see. You seemed to be the sort who is very particular about her results, and isn't satisfied until you're completely happy with the results of your work." After eating some, she added, "I'm going to have to guess, but you're probably the type who hates having your deadlines shorten to the point that you're going to have to cut a lot of corners, which is never ever a good idea in the world of science." |

Visela shrugged. "I mostly meditate. Think about what needs to be done and how to improve upon it. I guess. Well not all of the time. I read a lot, but not just papers. I sometimes read the classics to keep myself from my work." |

She shrugged. "Typical ones. I... never really read much of them when I was a child. Now that I'm an adult I have a more refined sense of good reads, I guess. I'm currently going through Endless Summer. It's not a bad read. A bit depressing at times, but books that convey emotions and are able to impress emotions onto the reader are best, I think." |

"Endless Summer huh? I might have to read that then. I usually read a lot of classics myself. You should read Love Eternal. It's a story about a noblewoman who tries to find love but discovers that the person who loves her is not who she thought. There are some very emotional scenes in it, but it's a great read. You should read it." What Anna didn't tell Yisela is that Love Eternal was that the noblewoman's true love was her own female servant. "Any other classics that you could suggest?" |

"Multiple. But it depends on the type of course. I do not like romances. Far too... inefficient, I guess. Never really cared for any of that, nor do I ever believe that will change." She took out her wallet and laid enough Veskonos and Ikvus on the table to cover her meal. |

Anna nodded. "I see. What about science fiction?" When she saw Visela paying for the meal, Anna felt bad making her spend her own money. Her guilt was written all over her face. "Um...Are you sure you want to pay? I can pay for it if you like." |

Visela shook her head. "It's all in the tank. To sleep, there's a button you'd press that releases a bit of a different mixture of gas into your system that keeps you sleeping. It's induced, not prolonged, for if it were the other way around it wouldn't be considered restful. As for eating, there is a small section of the tank that contains small cubes that have enough nutrients to sustain you over the course of an active day." She paused. "It's really quite foolproof." |

Visela nodded and held the door for her as they both walked out of the restaurant. "From time to time, when she wishes to swim. I don't know why people are afraid of such change, in all honesty. If change means progress, it should be done, tried at least, and if it fails, altered to better fit the needs of the one who is trying to progress. Just thing. In ten years from now we could have whole Vekaiyun civilizations underwater, undisturbed from the uncertainties of above-ground life. Perhaps one day I'll join them. But we'll never know if we don't press forward." |

"Excellent," Visela replied with a smile. "And you are right about those who wish to control change. One has to look at the motives behind it. Most of the time it's driven by money. I personally am content over my financial situation. Some want to be able to have control over another. I spent my whole life living in a controlled environment and have no desire to subject someone to such a fate." She shrugged. "I just want to leave a positive impact on my country. To leave them at a higher level than what I entered into. That sort of stuff." |

OOC: This is a collab between me and Todd. After getting back to Verveni Hall... Anna struggled to get the suit on. "Uh....Visela! Are you there? I need some help!" "Stupid suit. Can't get it on! Uh! I don't think this suit was designed for vulpines who have some muscle on them." Anna was having trouble as the suit apparently wasn't designed for someone with physique in mind. Visela leaned against the opposite side of the door. "It should fit you. It will be a bit snug, but it should fit comfortably. Just stretch it over and zip it up and stuff. I don't know, keep working at it." "Well, can you...oh!....come in here and help me, please." Visela sighed and gritted her teeth as she leaned her head back in slight frustration. She turned around and opened the door. "What is it you need help with?" she asked while looking away. "Oh for crying out loud! Please tell me you're not looking away! We're both women here. Besides weren't you in the military once? You probably showered with other women, so I don't know why you are ashamed to look at another woman naked. Anyhow, this suit must not have been made for someone like me." Visela rolled her eyes. "All you need to do is work with it slowly. It's a special type of Vekaiyun neoprene blend that will stretch over a predetermined shape. Just work the material slowly and get the... armholes up and stuff." "Okay. Well, um....Come over here and help me get it on...before...I---I--I--WHOA!" Anna somehow tripped and fell right ontop of Visela. Her naked body pressed against Visela's. Anna was blushing like crazy. "I can't believe my luck! This is so embarrassing!" Visela rolled her eyes. "Breathe in," she said as she gripped the top part of Anna's suit and waited for her to breathe in. When she did, Visela pushed her arms into the armholes and turned her around, zipping the suit up. "There," she replied. "Have some decency at least. I may have been a Vekaiyun soldier, but we had our dignity." "So....um....I'm guessing you got quite an eyefull of me naked...huh?" Anna was blushing and wagging her tail. "Stupid tail!" She immediately grabbed it to stop it from wagging. The tip of her tail still wagged. "I've seen a lot of people without clothes. I'd rather not talk about it." She sighed. "You'll get used to the fit in a few minutes probably." "Hm...Okay. You mentioned decency. It was different back during Vulshain's Civil War. We had to built bases quickly and save as much resources as we could, so they had to cut back on some stuff, like separate showers for men and women. So basically, everyone showered together. You got used to it, although it was awkward for everyone at first." "Still, I'm surprised that you aren't testing a suit as well. You do have the body of a swimmer." Anna smiled as she checked herself out. "Kinda of snug." "A scientist does not test things on herself," she replied matter-of-factly. "But... you'll make a decent test subject," she added to calm her hardlined responses. "Here," she said, handing her the fins. "Hm....Well, I do hope you swim me. Might make things easier to observe." She took the fins. "And I'm still surprised that you haven't found that special someone yet. I mean you have everything it takes to attract someone, be they male or female. You're beautiful, smart, athletic, and you can stand up for yourself. Traits that I...I mean...people would find attractive." "I don't have time to be bothered with having a family and raising children," she replied as she stood her tank up and began working on it, making sure it was functioning properly. "Never really wanted to date someone or however that works. Machines are predictable. People... not so much." "I...used to think the same as well." "Ah," she replied. "Yeah I guess different personalities require different things." "I once thought like you. Until I met her. She was beautiful and talented. We both fell in love. Fool around a little once in awhile with each other. Then...she was gone. Cancer." She wiped a tear from her eye. Visela gave a slight nod. "I am sorry to hear that," she added. A quick snatch from the ground retrieved the diving goggles for Anna. She held them up for her as she tightened a junction on the tank. Anna took the goggles. "Thanks. You remind me so much of her. Although," she said as she put the goggles on, "you're cuter than she was." Anna grinned from ear to ear as she wagged her tail. "You know, I'm surprised you haven't made a move on me." She winked and added, "I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" She gently gave Visela a peck on the cheek. "Anyhow, you're a special and talented vixen." She walked over and pulled an electronic device out of a bag. "With your brilliance, it's a wonder you aren't in charge of your own research group or the head of the Ministry of Science, or whatever it's called her in Vekaiyu." Visela gave her a sour look, then grimaced a small grin. "Well... it is nice to actually see my works in motion I guess. Thanks." She tapped the rebreather. "It's ready." "That's good. Well, I got something to pass the time when I'm bored down there anyhow." She holds up what appears to be an e-reader. "Newest model from Vulshain. It's water-proof, so it will be safe to use underwater, and the battery can last for two days before it has to be recharged. Touch-screen, built-in back light and anti-glare screen, and it 4G Wi-Fi on it too." "It also has tons of books on it, games, like chess and solatire on it. And it has an instant messager and texting, as well as a camera." "Might be good to try it out while I'm working. I'll see that you get one as well." "Alright. You could probably blog your experience too, if you wish." Visela dragged the rebreather up to her and set it down. "Go ahead and put it on your back." "Alright. So, was your first kiss?" She asked as she put easily put the rebreather on her back. "Hm...Not as heavy as I thought. And I might blog my experience with this as well." "I don't honestly remember," Visela commented as she grabbed the mouthpiece. "Put this in your mouth and take some breaths from it. It'll sound kind of loud but that's normal. There's a microphone in there to give people the ability to hear you speak." "You just don't want me to kiss you that's all," Anna said as she flirted with Visela. "So, Visela, I was wondering: it would be a shame if you didn't have children. I mean, don't you want someone to carry on your legacy when you're gone to carry on your experiments and research when you no longer can?" She put the mouthpiece in her mouth as she breathed a little. Visela shrugged. "I hope my people will carry my legacy." She held up a key fob device to her fins, the back of her suit, and her mouthpiece. "There," she said as she pulled on Anna's mouthpiece to ensure it was secure. "Don't worry. I'll undo it in three months." Anna pointed at the microphone, wanting her to turn it on. Visela smiled. "And if I don't?" Anna glared. And wrote down on some paper. She had written:
Visela laughed. "Oh no. Not yet. I'm still reeling over the fact that you harassed me yesterday." She looked at her feet. "Dance a little. Then I'll turn it on." Anna grinned. She wrote on the paper.
"What's that? No microphone? Alright, go ahead and waddle toward the tank then." Anna shook her head. She grabbed Visela and began to slow dance with her. Visela laughed slightly and stepped on her fins so she couldn't move. Anna laughed a little bit.
"Very well," Visela replied as she switched it on. "Thanks. You know you enjoyed that slow dance with me. I saw you blushing." Visela shook her head. "It was merely seeing my creation in motion. Now please, into the tank." "Okay. You should be proud Visela." As she got into the tank, Anna added, "Oh and Visela, for a scientist, you're very beautiful." She dived into the tank, splashing water...right onto her brother! "Well....It seems you two are getting along just fine." He spat out some water. "I hope you two didn't do things together before you started this experiment. Because Premier Levinile and I both agree you two should get along or else." "Now I must find some dry clothes." Sam left, muttering to himself about Visela and Anna. "Don't worry Visela. My brother is an okay person. He'll get over it. Trust me." Visela shrugged off the comments and looked over at Anna. "How is the equipment doing?" "Working perfectly. You really outdone yourself, Visela, sweety. By the way, do you swim?" Anna did some underwater ballet moves as she tested the suit out. She gracefully swam through the water, like a mermaid doing ballet. Visela nodded, then looked down. "Oh dear, it seems he got the key fob wet. Must be short circuited by now." "Is that bad?" "Yeah. Means you're stuck." "Oh damn. For how long?" She shook the fob. "Ever I'm afraid." Anna thought for a moment. "Hm...Oh well, looks like I get to keep the suit then. I'm sure Vulshain's scientists would be very happy to get this off me after three months, that is if you don't find a way to fix the problem by then." She sounded very serious. Appearing impassive, Visela shrugged. "Contract you signed stated if the gear gets stuck you agree to not leave this tank." "Ah yes, but I also agreed to do this after three months. And you agreed to ensure my safety and welfare while I tested the device. By failing to fix the problem of getting the suit off, you would be in violation of your part of the contract. And since I am a member of the Vulshainian Royal Family, I am entitled to certain benefits of diplomatic immunity." "Your failure to help me out of this suit within three months could be seen as a possible kidnapping scheme, which could lead your own government to branding you as a terrorist." She shook her head. "Covered in the contract." "Oh you're good. But the key didn't get wet. I know you. You would be deeply upset if it got wet." She nodded. "Of course it's waterproof. Who would create something like this and not waterproof any device associated with it?" Visela laughed. Anna laughed too. "You must be really holding a grudge against me for harassing you yesterday." "Nah," she replied. "But you will look kind of silly viewing the parade tomorrow." She grinned. "Eh. I plan on viewing it from inside this tank. I can watch it on my E-Port-Comp." She holds up the e-reader she had with. Visela smiled. "Fair enough." Anna nodded. "So, Visela. can I ask you something?" "Sure." "After the three months...um...Do you want to...this is so awkward...um...go out and celebrate. It's not a date now, if that's what you're thinking. I mean you're brilliant, attractive, and have a great sense of humor, what man or woman wouldn't want to date you." "I don't feel interested in dating," Visela remarked. "But if you want to have a drink after this is done, then perhaps we could do that." "Sure! I would enjoy that. But let's make sure we don't get tipsy and then go back to your place and have sex! That would be embarrassing wouldn't it?" "Um... yeah." "That was awkward wasn't it?" "Quite." "Um...I guess I should be honest with you." Anna took a deep breath. "I think I'm in love with you." Anna then quickly swam away trying to hide her blushing. "Very strange," Visela muttered to herself. |

Cecilia, Natalka, and Taisyia were visiting their sister Anna. "So Anna, what's the suit like," Taisyia asked. "It's really something. I mean, if this thing works, it will revolutionize underwater exploration! Not to mention make Visela a very wealthy vixen." "So three months? You can't even take off the suit?" "Nope," Anna told Cecilia. "Part of my contract. Still, it's not a total loss. I can study the suit some and see how it works. I might be able to help Visela improve the suit even more. I've some designs and ideas she will be happy to see." "Wait, if you help her improve the suit, doesn't that mean you two would share the credit?" Anna stopped and thought for a moment. "I'm not sure Natalka. I think so. I might need to ask Visela that." Anna then decided to change the subject. "So, you three going to the parade?" "Yep. It's too bad you can't go," Natalka said. Anna smiled. "It's okay. Besides, I can watch it on my E-Port-Comp." The three sisters glared at their older sister. "What?" "Nothing," the three younger Rainard sisters said in unison. "What!?" "NOTHING!" "Seriously, what did I say?" "How did you get an E-Port-Comp," Taisyia asked. "Well, it helps to be the older sister of the Vulshainian Monarch." "Milker," Cecilia muttered. Anna paid little attention to the insult. "Anyhow, it is good to see you again, Anna." "Yeah, but it's kind of sad that you won't be able to come back home with us," Taisyia added. "I know, but those three months will be over with in no time." The four sisters said goodbye for the time being. |

The eleven-lane Yeskuviyey Street shook rhythmically to the beat of roughly 125,000 marching individuals thundering down its broad pavement. Sectioned off into stages, the first stage of fighting men and women - one fifth of the total number - was the storied 71st infantry division, a division which saw a high degree of fighting during the 2010 Vekaiyun Civil War and was once among the forefront of Vekaiyun expansion abroad. Known to be among the toughest of all Vekaiyuns ever to wear the gold and black star on their uniform, they relentlessly poured down the street in dramatic fashion. While their numbers were about to give away to the 41st armored corps division, the twenty-five thousand that marched did so in complete unison, goose-stepping slightly to avoid their long coats from their red and black dress uniforms moving too much while their right arm pumped from their side to their chest, breaking uniformity only for about ten steps to turn and salute the premier, kral commodore, and ler commodore, who stood outside of the main balcony in Verveni Hall. The soldiers represented the superior organization and discipline in the Vekaiyun Armed Forces, each stepping in line, toting their respective weapons (most of which wielded the new YI-271 assault rifle, a modified YI-205 that had influences from the most recent Alleghenian model). Those who watched had a hint of pride about them. They watched the unwavering numbers march down the grand avenue as undertones from a previous regime surfaced. No longer under Maxist philosophy, the Vekaiyun army appeared more sane and calm, but with the same degree of boldness and gusto. Vekaiyun nationalistic songs boomed over loudspeakers as those in the army choir sung tunes that had undergone many modifications during the 2010-2011 years, with some songs being brand-new. After all, it was Revolution Day - the day in which Maxist forces finally released control of the Vekaiyun state, bowing to the new regime led by Ikrisia Levinile, initially called Loyalists, now called Progressives. Since then the nation had undergone much change and growing pains, fighting through depressions and the restoration of one of its most grand cities. One year later, however, the nation was beginning to see improvements. A united Vekaiyu was a strong Vekaiyu and now, a nearly democratic republic with a growing economy, many contributions to science, and a strengthening military. Marching soldiers soon of the 71st gave way to a group of soldiers marching in formation of the Vekaiyun border, which then gave way to the 41st armored corps division, announced by the presence of military flags. Leading off with the TU-104 Sulessi Class Tank, officially retired after attempts to update the tank were deemed financially unsound. A small band of Sulessis moved on to the TU-128-c Buresk Class Tank update, TU-155 Isonesu Class Tank, and the impressive TU-165 Yiviso Class Tank. Each tank was filed in a line seven abreast, their guns pointed at a 30 degree angle with the horizontal, their tank commanders maintaining eye contact with the premier as they froze the Vekaiyun salute back at her. As the last of the Yiviso Class Tanks departed from the scene, VL-100 Light Tanks were announced. The impressive tanks were also lined up in sevens, but their sloped designs and odd-shaped guns were a sight to be seen. Behind them was a line of VL-100 Light Tanks with an unspecified gun modification. When the tanks were finished rolling off from in front of the hall, large armored vehicles carrying "dud" warheads rolled onto the street. Above flew a class of VM-84 Birikau Fighter Craft, flying in the outlines of the Vekaiyun and Listonian states. As soon as they passed overhead, the four jets outlining the dividing line between the two nations broke off from formation, showing a united Vekaiyu and Listonia. Cheering could be heard, as the Listonian situation was still a topic of interest, especially after the Listonian dictator broke off talks of unification. "Do you think we went a bit too far with that symbolism, ma'am?" Kral Commodore Nevikalu whispered as he leaned in toward Premier Levinile. "No," she replied. "I like it. If I knew nothing about offensive formations I'd suggest flying into Listonia like that." "You believe we will go to war?" he whispered again. Ikrisia paused. "I don't really know at this time." |

Samuil, his sisters, his grandmother, and the Vulshainian ambassador watched the parade. Samuil was deeply impressed by the parade. However, he not only watched the parade, but also listened to the Vekaiyun Premier and Kral Commandore talking about a potential conflict with Listonia looming. He leaned over and whispered. "Excellent display, Premier. VL-100 Light tanks? Judging from the appearance of those cannons, I'm betting those tanks are equipped with laser weaponry." His sister, Natalka was amazed by the various tanks, while Cecilia was making mental notes about how to outdo Vekaiyu's air force as she watched the VM-84 Birikau Fighter Craft fly overhead. Taisyia was a little concerned about the symbolism as she leaned over to the Kral Commodre and whispered, "You probably should have toned down the symbolism some. There are people who might be intimidated by such symbolism, two of whom are the leaders of your neighbors." She was referring to both Listonia and Allegheny. Meanwhile, many of the Vekaiyuns were glancing at the Queen Dowager, as many had never seen such a lovely outfit before. The kimsari that the Queen Dowager was wearing featured phoenixes and a large white liger on the back. |

"Some are, yes," Ikrisia replied. She watched as more mobile warheads rolled down the avenue. Holding up a hand, she gave a slight wave but kept her smile to a minimum, recognizing the seriousness of the parade under the national pride. Kral Commodore Nevikalu shrugged. "There's a thing called mutual-assured distruction, ma'am," he replied to her. "Which basically means if we launch the bombs, they launch them right back at us and we're all toast. But with Listonia, that's a different case." He folded his arms over his chest. "They've got old Vekaiyun technology. And many citizens here consider Listonians to be Vekaiyuns. Now I'm not an expert and nor do I say I am. But acting as an observer many people here have heard of the changes in Listonia. They don't like it. It's strange, but if that's the way Listonia's going to be, then the ball's in our court with how we act on it. So far we've decided to work out problems diplomatically. We'll take the situation as it develops." |
