Nodding Kieran decided to continue meeting other students. "Well, I got to go. It was nice meeting you Kamron. See you later Alvus." Kieran left them as he went outside.

There it was, in all of its majesty. He had read about it, and heard stories, but nothing compared to seeing the Shiro Academy in front of him. Looking down at his map, Brandon Drune found his way to the dormitories. He had purposely arrived late, in hopes that the opening day crowds would have subsided. Apparently he had no such luck. There were many people all around the common area in front of the dorms, talking to each other, walking around, getting settled. It made Brandon instantly self aware, and he lowered himself into a long-practiced slouch.

Casually avoiding anyones line of sight, he made his way around the fringes of where the bulk of people were, well out of range for a passing "hello". He entered the front of the dormitory, and, having already printed out an online version of the forms he knew would be waiting for him, he handed in his completed paperwork to a person at the desk. Brandon tried to avoid eye contact as he received his room key and was directed to the fifth floor.

Once there, Brandon tossed his two bags on the floor at the foot of one of the two beds, not noticing if the other one was claimed. He sat on his bed, then put his head on the pillow, and braced himself for what he knew would happen. He lifted his head, and looked towards the end of the bed. His feet were hanging well off of the end. Sighing, he stood up and hunched as he looked out the window. Compared to most Moafish, he had done a lot of traveling, but it still stung every time he was reminded just how different he really was. Maybe he would feel better if he got some exercise.

A couple moments later, he was back at ground level. The sun was out, the land was new and interesting. He stepped out the front door for a quick jog around the property.
Thank you for your time

"Later Kieran," Alvus said as he watched him walk off. He took a quick glance around, mainly at the other lines. One of them was rather short, and Alvus noticed a man briskly walk up to the desk, deposit his paperwork, and left quickly with his room key in hand. He turned back to Kamron.

"I doubt those barbarians can reach you out here," Alvus retorted to Kamron. "I'm pretty sure a bunch of savagely dressed pseudo-terrorists would be easily found by the authorities. And besides, I've got a dart gun with my luggage. Not lethal of course, but you never know." Alvus took a few steps forward now; the line was actually moving faster, he thought. Interesting.

Iliyana wanted more than anything to stop the man and study him further. “Hey! Wait, please!” But her lips remained sealed. The man looked like he had seen quite a bit in his lifetime, so much so that his ominous presence was enough to compel her to stay in that very spot. ”There will be other times. Times that are probably more affording than right now.”

Suddenly, the girl she had waved to earlier was right in front of her. “I don’t know…” she said as her voice trailed off, as if she was wondering the same thing. “Oh, I’m sorry, my name is Iliyana… Iliyana I'kavilunevistere. I’m from Listonia.” She smiled, but then it faded slightly as she tried to figure out where a girl dressed in all-black would be from. “It’s nice meeting you,” she said, proud of her save as her ears flicked from a cross breeze. “Where are you from?”

”Fools”

Dr. Vasnevsky was unlike any other professor at Shiro academy, he assumed. And, it was a fair assumption to make. He was vulpine, in his mid-forties, and held a dress code that consisted of three piece suits, bow-ties, and worn black shoes. Despite his dress code, however, he wasn’t even close to appearing spotless. The suit he wore was old and fit him loosely. His bow tie sagged throughout the day. Even now it looked like it was in a perpetual shrug. And his shoes, while still sharp, were obviously covered in permanent marker from when he stained them during various experiments.

Though, it was hard to tell just how old the shoes were. Which chemicals did they really touch? Where were they when stains of various colors had to be covered up?

Of course Vasnevsky was not his real last name. He didn’t hide that fact. The FPS government was perfectly fine with him not disclosing that, especially when Selvala took over and the government in Vekaiyu went mad. But, as the dust settled, he found himself more and more fond of the country here. It was peaceful. It was less demanding. And even though he loved what he did here, he always knew at any time he could return to Vekaiyu, sort of like an insurance policy to the land of green fields stained with blood. One day he’d return. But not now. No, not now at all. With Ikrisia Levinile now the premier, there was no chance he could return. For if he did return, he’d ultimately have to disclose of his name. And the name of a former Maxist chemist responsible for the deaths of thousands due to experimentation and testing would not bode well with the new regime. No, not now at all.

The doctor had remained disconnected with FPS society and the atmosphere of the university in general. To say he hated the current policies of the academy would be putting things lightly. Students were here to work, not socialize. Not go to beach parties, picnic on the grass, interact with one another, deal with RA’s when they could be in the labs learning, discovering, and enriching the world around them. Where was the competition? Where was the work ethic anymore? Almighty forbid if Vekaiyu had been bitten by this same bug. He might drop dead of a heart attack right in front of the customs gate.

Grumbling, the educated man opened the door to his office, located in a hallway lined with laboratories. Inside was like stepping into the portal of another world. Locked file cabinets and shelves filled with books and old students’ theses lined the walls, save for a chair in the corner, which housed an accordion. A musical man. Pictures of birds were hung above the trinkets, test tubes, vials, beakers, jars, beljars, and various chemistry equipment that sat on the cabinets and shelves, collecting dust. A nature lover too. He had to have some hobbies other than his work – he was unmarried, alone, and generally a private man. His identity came from his work.

He watched as a group of students seemed to be congregating within view from his window, talking amongst themselves as a man dressed in all black left them with each other. His heart sank. If this was what the new class was coming to, he might have to beat the knowledge in them. They all looked absolutely pathetic – hardly an incriminating bone inside them. At least he would have a good time weeding them out. He shut the blinds quickly.

The friendly reception he had received both from Centralia and Aristes had worked to erode Okë's worries. It was certainly clear by this point that he had not committed some grave rudeness and alienated himself on his first day. It also seemed that even if he had made some sort of slip up, it would have been forgiven. The overall social temperament of his surroundings, indeed, seemed to be quite a bit more easy going and open than the one he had come from. He had already been invited out to a gathering. He could feel the equally easy going and amicable inclinations he'd cautiously buried under forced politeness beginning to dig themselves out.

At some point during this process of emotional liberation, Okë became aware that the paw in which he still grasped his soda had become uncomfortably cold as a result of prolonged contact with the chilled beverage. Though he hadn't taken a single sip beyond his first, he'd been too caught up on the possibility that he might appear ungrateful to simply put it down. But after his recent personal and cultural awakening he had begun to realize how ridiculous the worry seemed. Reassured, he placed the aluminum can down on the ground and then, riding high on his wave of confidence, spoke up without first being spoken to.

"That sounds great Centralia! Where and when do we meet?" he asked eagerly.

"At lunch on the beach!" Centralia again animately beamed with enthusiasm. And it was through Declan's unspoken response that Aristes just shook his head, confirming that yes, Centralia was an indefatigable optimist.

Pulling out waters from the cooler of never ending beverages, Aristes handed one to Declan and offered one to Okë. While Aristes might have broken down time to time and had a soda, he much more preferred water and assumed that others would as well given the heat of the day.

Stick to the truth. Don't elaborate unless asked.

"I'm from Kangarawa. My geography is pretty bad. Where's Listonia? Is it close to Free Pacific States?" Despite the smile on her face, May's eyes kept wandering from Iliyana to the door where the man had disappeared.

Iliyana could tell May was looking elsewhere. She must have been interested in the person from before judging by her eyes moving. She followed them for a little before her learned manners got the best of her. "Oh, we're a new nation. We used to be occupied by two nations, but we recently got our independence. It was hard dealing with it because everything changed. Even my classes changed. We're kind of north from here, by Vekaiyu and Lake Miiyu and stuff. What about Kangarawa? What's that nation like?" Her attention was turned again to the direction in which the man from before left. "Perhaps we should follow him?"

May grinned, more or less meeting Iliyana's eyes for the first time.

"I think following him is a great idea! I know, it's not polite, but he has me so .... so curious. Did he talk to you at all? It looked almost as if you were just staring at one another before he started staring at me. He made me feel so ... odd. How about you?" Shaking her head, she giggled. "I'm sorry. I talk a lot. I really do have manners, but I forget sometimes."

The two started walking in the direction of the building.

"Change stinks sometimes, doesn't it? I've been away from Kangarawa for a long time. It's pretty ... lots of mountains, water, the ocean ... at least, close to where I lived." I stuck to the truth. "Why did your classes change? You were at school there first? Sorry ... of course you were at school. What made you decide to come to Shiro and change schools then and what are you taking?" May drew a long breath and then grinned. "You're welcome to tell me to be quiet at any time. I'm ... a ... I'm used to it."

Alvus decided to head back up to his room, leaving Kamron with enough directions to help him get settled in. As he entered his room, he walked over to one of his bags and opened it, taking out a set of binoculars. He strode over to the window, lowered the shades enough to hide his form, and closed the door behind him.

He put the binoculars up to his eyes and examined the people outside, and in neighboring buildings. Nothing unusual. Yet. Alvus always had a keen eye for suspicious individuals - the real reason why he had gotten out of the Conglomerate so early. His tactical and observational capabilities were well beyond what any normal being could achieve, a talent unanimously agreed upon by the brass as a talent inherited from his father.

Alvus took out a notebook with a lock, and unbuckled the golden lock. He started writing down observations. Sure, it may be a little too much for an academy, of all places, but his father always preached the same thing to him day after day - better safe than dead. A warrior's creed.

He continued to observe through the windows, and occasionally shot a glance back at the door to ensure his back was covered.

Kamron finally gained his key. He went back upstairs, took his bags which he left in Alvus's room, and set up in his own. The place was quite small, though it had a sense of belonging in it. He put his ceremonial decorative items on the wall, taking a moment to look at them and felt satisfied with where he'd gotten.

He quickly hid his weapon on his person, making sure there were no clues as to where it was. His roommate, whoever, that person was, might end up having to put up with Kamron's behavior... he has a habit of snoring in his sleep (he was working on trying to get rid of it).

He took one last room as how he set up his side of the room, and then left to go take in the sights of the other locations on campus. Again, the revolting thoughts of rampant foliage made him want to reconsider, but he thought against it.

Meanwhile, a hooded man sat quietly in the bushes, masterfully camouflaged and undetected by anyone except the most paranoid of people. He watched as Kamron exited his room through his binoculars and made a quick note in the small notebook that lay in front of him. He silently brushed off some leaves on his left shoulder, making sure that nothing on his disguise was out of place.

The left shoulder pad bore the insignia of a pure-white wolf head.

"No problem," Iliyana said with a smile. She walked with her. "We had a regime change, so the classes changed. Instead of learning how to speak Dverian and learn about their history, we learn about Unonian and Vekaiyun as well as Listonian history. It was a big transition."

They approached the building at a steady pace. "As for the man... He didn't talk to me. Um, I don't know if he can talk - he's got a scar around his neck and stuff. He just has a weird presence about him... I can't really explain it. It's just off-setting a little. Kind of like he's seen a lot of stuff in his life... he sort of looks passed you." As they reached the door, Iliyana grabbed the handle and pulled it open. Inside was a typical hall - lined with doors, research topics in poster form, and corkboards used to put up class schedules and copies of old homeworks, no doubt. It didn't take her long to realize that he was apparently in the second door from the right, judging by the ceasing of the footsteps.

She moved for the handle, but then retracted her reach. She instead decided to knock, but the door just opened on itself. "Huh," she replied. "I guess we..." she gasped as the secretary startled her. "Um, we're here to see..." she looked on her desk, and finally the door, for some kind of identification. "Mr. Bortniansky."

"Just go right back."

"Okay, thanks."

She was bold enough to lead the way into the room. When they got there, however, Iliyana was amazed at the... plain style of the room. Just a desk and some chairs, polished and spotless. The man from before was standing and looking out the window. "Um, Mr. Bortniansky? Um... I know this sounds rude, but... and this might come out wrong... who are you?"

Stumbling through the courtyard, Amilio wavered in his drunken state. Had he been of a keener eye, he might have noticed the man hiding in the bushes aside of him and had he been of an even soberer state, he would have thought twice about relieving himself in the "bushes."

As he unknowingly urinated all over the hidden man, Amilio's haughty laugh broke the silence as a group of students called to him. Tucking himself in he ran towards the men his fate remained unbeknown to him.

Declan nodded and smiled. "I will be there Centralia, thanks for the invite." He was glad Aristes shook his hand first and not the other way around, the canid filth on his hand would have caused a scene if it had been the other way around. Declan took Aristes aside away from Oke and Centralia's hearing and offered him a disinfectant wipe. "Here take this, don't want to catch something from one of those Vulpines or Lupines, whatever you call them."

Aristes looked at him wondering how he could tell. Declan laughed. "When your nation actually borders the filth you just know when someone is silently disgusted." Declan didn't wait to see if Aristes actually used it. "I can't believe they actually let them in here considering. I mean look at him, he is probably excited right now just being around your girlfriend there, deviant as they are. I hear about it in the news all the time, canids sneaking across the border and taking our women and sometimes men! I shudder to even think of it." He finished shaking his head.

"Gloves," Aristes responded as he held up his white gloved hands, "not just for appearance."

He listened in silence for a moment until Declan shot him a questioning look. Shrugging casually, Aristes tucked his hands into his pockets as they walked, "I am used to silence. I never got much of an opportunity to talk. When you are around Centralia, she tends to do all the talking for you."

He waited for a moment until they passed out of ear shot from some nearby students, "so you are from Allegheny?" Aristes asked, intrigued, "Heard about your nation. Hard to do what you do with neighbors like Vekaiyu. How do you keep them out?"

"Well thats just the thing, we don't." Declan said clearing his throat. "The government's official status is that Vulpines are to be treated equal and allowed to immigrate in.
Unofficially they don't get any further than heavily polluted eastern factory towns. They usually get fooled into working for almost nothing by the corporations and usually die early as they aren't given the same protection for their lungs as other citizens are. It's almost impossible for them to get out of there and the only other way they have to go is back home, so we don't usually get many coming from Vekaiyu."

Declan took a breath and smiled. "As for Vekaiyu, they are weak and hold no influence over us, their leaders are spineless and we do pretty much whatever we want. I heard that the mining corporations that mine out the mountains that we share with them constantly dig under the border and take resources that are rightfully Vekaiyu's, they have no idea either. It's quite hilarious, to me at least. I mean we say we will help them out, that we are their friends and then we go do something else completely, they don't even protest, it's surprising how they have lasted this long."

Aristes nodded, turning down a secluded path he had found long ago, leading Declan to a more private area.

"What is going on with those vulpines?" he asked when he was sure they were away from prying ears and eyes. "Last year Vekaiyu was involved in a shady assassination attempt. They tried to cover the attempt up by masking it behind the assassination of a nun who was involved. Just months before, they were in Shiro and two of them broke out into a fight that resulted in the death of one and a critical injury to another student who tried to break it up. I did some research and it turns out that this Ikrisia that was involved in both incidents is now taking charge of their nation. Either all vulpines are idiots to promote someone as inept as Ikrisia or they are planning something much bigger. I have been trying to put it all together for about a year now but I am still missing pieces of the puzzle."

Kieran's ears picked up the conversations going on. What he heard, he didn't like. He walked up behind the student who he had heard being called 'Declan' and said, "And what was is this about Vulpines being shady and evil?"

He crossed his arms and glared at the man with a look that could kill.

Declan was sure that he and Aristes were far from any students and so when Kieran snuck up on and loudly announced his presence, Declan who had lived and worked in a dangerous business coupled with his two years of prior military service turned around and instinctively punched Kieran square in the face. Upon realizing it was nothing but some fragile Vulpine he laughed. "You shouldn't sneak up on a man like that kid."

Looking over at the vulpine, Aristes stared down at the plastered vulpine on the ground. They were a rude species, invading on private discussions, forcing their existence into everything and nothing he saw at that moment could redeem them. The scowl on his face at seeing yet another one of these freaks of nature barging in like they owned the place did not hide his obvious contempt for the vulpine.

His voice was cold as he looked down at the vulpine "the part about vulpines being shady?" Aristes responded to Kieran's question, "I think that was in reference to your kind sneaking around a school and intruding on private discussions."

"What is going on here?"

There stood a human man with a cane. He wasn't happy. "I just ask you students what is going on here? And if I don't get an answer right now, all of you are going to be expelled before classes even start."

Harrison Workman glared at the two human students. "Really? If I asked for snappy crap, I would have ask for it. What are your names?" He looked at all three of them with icy cold blue eyes, like a cobra ready to strike.

Aristes only shook his head with a cynical look of disappointment spreading across his face. He expected as much from the vulpine but this human was acting more like one of them than his own species.

Grabbing Declan's arm, he turned the man around and continued walking, ignoring the two men. Life had taught him some battles were worth fighting and others like this were worth walking away from.

The spy quickly disengaged his operation after he had seemingly been urinated upon from absolutely nowhere. He moaned in disgust as he returned to his car, drove back to his hotel, briskly entering his room, and quickly showered and got a new change of clothes.

He keyed his phone as he got out of the shower.

"This had better be good."

"He's here, sir. The elder's son is here."

"Excellent. I will notify the others. And do be more careful, next time; you weren't as good a scout as I know you are normally. Should the man have done something more than just urinate all over you, the kid might as well have gutted you with a knife already."

"Understood, sir. Sorry, sir."

"No need to apologize, but there will be consequences if you fail again. I've taken the liberty of having a weapons cache installed in your room. You'll probably find them very familiar. The attack in the homeland will begin soon, and everything will be in chaos. The perfect time for you to strike. Orders shall come in later. Alpha out."

The tone went dead. The spy checked under the bed and found a large black case underneath. He took liberty to make sure all visual paths into the room were obstructed or closed, then carefully opened the box.

He carefully took out the sniper rifle and delicately keyed the distance settings.

==============================

Kamron continued to walk around campus. He noticed Kieran shouting at people, though Kamron thought it best to leave it alone lest he himself be dragged into something he knew nothing about. There was a drunk man walking around, acting as if he were the only person around. There were plenty more things happening, but Kamron didn't care, nor did he want to.

There were buildings, yes. Strange buildings, tall and magnificent with different colored materials, nothing like the blandness of the terns, but he questioned the rigidity and the defensibility of such structures... they were seemingly made more with aesthetic than military practicality in mind (which, Kamron supposed, was a common practice in a place like this). He continued on his stroll through the campus, when something caught his eye.

He crouched and stared at a flower. It was colorful, yellow petals with a green stalk. He curiously examined it, staring at it for minutes on end, before seeing an insect landing on it, which in turn drew his attention as well.

What a strange place this was. What a story he'll have to tell once he returns back to the tribe.

"Hm, wait. Got something." Alvus picked up his binoculars and observed the hidden man run off into the brush, carefully avoiding any debris so as to hide his escape.

"Looks like we got one." Alvus trifled through his bag and withdrew a small, almost razor thin cellular phone. He flipped it open and pushed the single button on the inside panel.

"Dostev 1."

"Dostev, this is Fydir. Possible hostile, he's in the dossier. Caught fleeing from the premises. Send word back to father for me, and send me a box of AVR-70. You know what to do."

"Da."

Alvus hung up the phone, and looked out the window. He noticed Kamron walking around taking in the sights as he did usually; he noticed Kieran with a bloodied nose and two humans talking with a rather old man. Alvus grimaced, and remembered why he preferred the boot camp to such a childish environment such as an academy. He turned around and strode out the room, careful to pocket his brass knuckles just in case.

OOC: Last one for a while, I'll check around forums but I've not the attention span nor time to keep up with the RP currently. Will catch up after I get back.

"Well, now. So, you two have the guts to beat up a Vulpine, yet, when an old human man shows up, you turn tail and cower away like cowards?"

"And you, keep your nose away from other people's conversations."

The old man followed behind the two other humans. He still had some talking with them to be done. For an old man with a cane, he was quite fast.

Kieran checked to make sure all of his fangs were in place. They were. His muzzle wasn't broken, so he was okay, except for his bloodstained nose. He got up off the ground and brushed himself off. "I better watch myself around those two," he thought. He made a mental note to keep away from them. He decided to head back to the academy. He then saw Kamron. "Oh hi Kamron. How is everything?" His muzzle was still stained with blood, although his nose had stopped bleeding.
