((I decided to have her staff member join them, hope that's fine)) "Yes, I'm fine," Riyna replied to Butler. Her eyes were glued to the outside of the limo, still making sure she was safe within its casements. Upon her staff member joining them, she turned to him and frowned. 'What's wrong?' he asked in Unonian. 'There was an assassination attempt on the emperor. He is fine, at least for now. I'm just... disturbed by it.' 'Best to speak in English to not cause concern for our host.' After a slight nod, Riyna turned to Butler. "What about the whereabouts of our guard? Will he join us sometime soon?" |

Butler had hoped that the vulpine would forget about the guard, seeing that he was not sure if the poor being was still alive, or being disected... -I assume he should join you at your hotel room.- Butler said, slowly dropping his fake-thick accent to a more clean english, though he made sure not to speak clean-english, it would be a disgrace -Although...- he muttered -I am not sure if this assassination attempt is real... It might be just... ah! never mind!- Butler smiled. His loyalty to the Emperor was never questioned, and nor should it be. He hoped he was playing it as the emperor had forseen -Maybe once we get to the hotel you should contact your... ruling parties? So that they know of the Borsuk assassination-attempt. They might even help us whipe those beasts off the face... I mean... Quell their injust rebellion... Ah! But here we are. The hotel. Now I need you to go to you room and stay there. Remeber to contact your authorities. It is of highest importance that they know.- Butler smiled and opened the door for the vulpines -I am afraid this is where we part. I am unsure whether... I... shall have the time to meet with you again after what has happened... I wish you... a pleasent end to your diplomatic trip - I hope this will not stain the relationship between our countires.- Butler smiled again [more like grinned] and closed the door. He made sure a hotel employee took care of the vulpines. -Limo, I need to get to the ASR stat. The plan needs to be finished NOW.- |

Riyna nodded, dumbly at first, then with more vigor as she waited for the door to close, then ran to the reception desk. The entire ordeal was keeping her on edge, and definitely pushed her outside of her comfort zone. So many talks of assassination attempts, even a real-live (or was it even real, as Butler seemed to allude to?) assassination attempt on the emperor, and now her guard was missing. "Hello?" she asked the reception desk. "My name is... um... Riyna Oyvesko, the Vekaiyun Foreign Officer to Vodrak. I believe there is a room set up for me?" She nearly jumped when her staff member grabbed her gently by the arm. "Kivia Oyvesko," he began as he whispered in Unonian. "Do you think it is a good idea to go with what they say?" "What do you mean?" she whispered back in her native tongue. "I suggest we get another room. Change rooms just in case it got around to where our location is. Never know if there are any assassins around here." "I just want to go behind closed doors and talk with someone over in Vekaiyu." "Maybe that's what they want us to do. The man who drove us over here seemed adamant on that. The room could be bugged. I suggest we change rooms." Riyna looked back at the reception desk and to the receptionist waiting there. "Um, may we please see a list of vacant rooms? My staff member is being kind of picky with our choice of rooms." She smiled timidly. "Thank you." |

The recepionist smiled. -Of course- he said in perfect english -let me find one... aha! room 108. It is a whole level below the one the Emperor reserved for you... and... umm... two from the one his assistant ordered? That can't be right... must be some error. The scribe will need to explain. for now here is your key. Have a pleasant stay.- he smiled even wider. As he watched the two vulpines walk away he almost couldn't help but laugh. The foolish Vodrakians couldn't even keep their foreign emissaries from getting suspicous. This might well work for the Borsuk's advantage... he hopped his leader was in the room. He was dying to get foreign support I highly doubt the vulpines even know that they are the subject of one of Vodrak's many political intruges. he smiled and happily finished his job for the day. He was extremely lucky that he accpeted the two - anyone else would have either admitted them to the Emperor's room or that fool's - Butler's. Both are likley to be a trap. He on the other hand gave them a nice and safe room. Just... with an unexpected guest waiting inside. That was all. He didn't even notice the assassin that walked up to him in flowing dark robes. He didn't manage to even utter a sound, as a long thin dagger pierced his heart. His vison grew dim. The last thing he heard was -Sire, we seem to have a problem.- He cursed the fact that the diplomats were far from sight. Maybe they would be able to intervein? Or would they be killed in cold-blood as well... He coughed blood and died. |

Riyna and her staff member were already down the hall and near the elavator lobby when they heard a slight commotion from the room they were once in. They both looked at each other as disquiet formed between the two of them. "Should we go back to check and see what's happened?" Riyna asked in Unonian. "No," her staff member said as he pressed the button to call the elevator. "We should get to our room and avoid as much mischief as we can. Once we are there we can decide what to do with contacting Vekaiyu." A chime signaled the car had arrived and, once the doors opened, the two quickly stepped inside. Riyna noticed her staff member was much more calm than she was. Inside she was a nervous wreck. When the doors closed, she put her hands over her face and her knees bent to the ground. "Maintain composure!" The staff member ordered as he pushed the appropriate button. "You know how strict our nation has become with foreign policies!" "I know! I know!" she whispered. "But this place has put me on edge. I don't think I can do this anymore!" "You must. We are Vekaiyu when we represent nations abroad. And I'd rather die than to show my nation to be weak and frail. How does a staff member know this and not a Foreign Officer? All because I'm a man and not female. Otherwise I'd gladly take your place!" The doors opened as the two stepped out of the elavator in silence. Key in hand, Riyna reached the appropriate door and, biting her lip, she unlocked the door and began to open it. |

Immediately after Riyna opened the door a cold breeze hit both the vulpines. From inside the room they heard a cackle and a quick invitation -Come in! Come in! I have been waiting long to meet you, ever since you arrived in Korsk in fact!- What pushed the Vekayu diplomat and her aide to eneter the room, no one knows. However they did, and the doors locked quickly behind them. The room was only lit by moonlight [time passses ever so quickly when you are running form assassination], and the windows were opened. In the corner opposite the door a man stood. He was rather small, and was crooked. He wore primitive clothes - mainly animal skins [actually just badger skin for some reason]. His hair was unkempt, greasy and silver - making him look old. His eyes were diffrent colours [as in his right iris was blue and his left iris was a deep green] giving him a mad look. On his hip was strapped a pistol [wrapped in animal cloth] and a crude dagger with a bone handel. He cackled again -How was the trip! Was it well? It was well indeed I bet! With all the luxury of the Vodrakian nobility! Do not trust them! No! No! Evil... Evil! The lot... talk! yes! talk! no... no wait... Sit! Yes, sit! Make yourselves at home! Questions have thee? Ask! Ask!- |

"The man is certifiably insane," the Vekaiyun staff member whispered to Riyna in Unonian. He stood still as she took a few steps back. "From assassination attempts to madmen," she thought as she tried to figure out how exactly to answer the crazed man before them. The more she thought, however, the more she felt comfortable not saying anything at all. The staff member began looking for a room service button to inform the proper authorities that someone had broken into their hotel room. "How did you get in here?" Riyna finally spoke. She paused. "And who might you be?" |

The man quickly anwsered -Leader of the Borsuk I am! Famous I am! Yes.. yes... Do not think about contacting the staff! Kill you they will. Kill us they might. Here to warn you am I.- The man straigtened. He then said in near-perfect english -The Vodrakians have won this rebellion, there is no doubt in that. Luckily I planned for this, and my people are slowly moving to the land south-west of Vodrak. But somehow Butler found out, and has informed the Emperor of our retreat. I fear he may try to seize the land, and I believe you two are key in his plot. Having a foreign country accept the invaison as nessesary would vastly improve his standing in the area, and he would not need to worry about others interveining.- He gave the diplomat a wicked grin -However, to achieve this he needs to convince Vekaiyu, or however your country is called, that we are a threat. And how do you think he shall achieve that?- |

"I don't-" Riyna began. "That is irrelevant," the Vekaiyun staff member interrupted. "We are not in control of how Vekaiyu reacts, accepts, or rejects to any offers made to it. Foreign officers are only here to represent Vekaiyu abroad, to essentially act as a point of contact between the two nations. If something happens to a Foreign Officer, they will care, but the new Vekaiyun system will put someone else in their place. In short, Foreign Officers are only intercessors to the Vekaiyun government, and nothing more." Riyna shook her head. "Please, keep going." |

The man smiled and cackled -You really think the Vodrakians care about such things? Any plan that involves killing is as good as done. Although, even I must admit, that the new Emperor- he spat the title as if it were an insult -Is a bit more... cautious. He is not the mindless brute of a leader we are used to, but he still likes to suffering and blood. All of them are just beasts.- The Borsuk leader sat down and looked out the window. His gaze drifted off for a minute and then quickly said -We must get out. They found out I- he was cut off by a slam at the door. It fell out of its hinges without any problem. Two men dressed in deep purple robes rushed in followed by Butler who had a pistol in his hand. -Good night my sir.- He said and shot the Borsuk without any other thought or concience. He then calmly walked past the two Vulpines and shot the Borsuk again. -That's one headace removed.- He then glared back at the Vulpines. The men in purple robes blocked the exit with their bulk. -What has he told you?- Butler's eye's were cold and yet they had a certain spark of evil in them. -What lies has that wretched creature fed you?- Butler smiled at the hint of fear he detected from the vulpines. Or at least he thought he detected one. He didn't care, he would kill them in a heartbeat if they knew to much. Or if they were disrespectful - whatever comes first. |

"He told-" "He said to leave the country or we will be the next to become assassinated," the Vekaiyun staff member interrupted with a readied lie. "That we are in danger here. Then he threatened us with a gun. But I'm inclined to believe his opinion, considering we've already been in the crossfire on two separate occasions. Really, where are the police? The military? What about our guard?" He looked Butler up and down. "And what do you mean by 'lies'?" |

Butler casually shot the vulpine aide's knee. -If I were talking to you, I would say so. Really, do you even have the slightest clue of what is going on here?- Butler laughed. -No, I do not think you do. Oh, and as for your lie- he added -It was a poor one. The man didn't have his gun drawn when we entered. At least... I think he didn't.- Butler looked at the pathetic vulpine beast. A minute of mercy overtook him. He pointed the gun at the aide's head and shot. He looked at the envoy. -It was an act of mercy. I am afraid you might not enjoy such... convinence. We are very fascinated as to how you... work? I guess you might call it that. However, it is rather doubtful that you would be just willing to explain all your biological processes to us. Even if you would, I think it is a daunting prospect, so let's cut to the chase- He nodded toward the robed men. The grabbed the envoy and began to lead her out the door. -Do not worry!- Butler shouted after the vulpine -The official version states that you died painlessly- He then added in his thoughts However... In Vodrak the official story is usually a lie. Oh well. Butler spared a moment to look at the body of the borsuk leader. Now all that was needed was to complete the invasion of the lands the intended to take - there should be no problem. That and write a letter to the envoy's country. They might be interested in the death of the poor beast. So much work. Suddenly Butler's comlink began beeping. He touched it and asked, in a slightly annoyed tone -Yes what is it?- He listened to what the man said and the exploded -They claim we did WHAT?! An airplane? Explosives!? Bastards! Bastards! Yes. Moblize the army. Nightfall is in full swing. Do not inform the emperor. I will do so personally.- He disconnected and ran toward the exit. This would be a long day. He couldn't help but wonder what the emissary had thought about in the past five minutes... was she struck with fear? pride? extasy? What did she feel? It does not matter. Not to me. Butler reminded himself |

Riyna didn't say a word as she was lead away, though she was scared. She often thought the excessive training she received to be a foreign officer was at times unnecessary, but at this point in time, she was glad she remembered it. It was a long list of protocols, coupled with many scenarios acted out and written down in the form of exams. It was apparent that what had happened signaled there was a point of no return for her. She was to do nothing. To be the least compliant but show no emotion. But what she needed most was a phone. As she felt the pocket to her uniform, all she needed was to be near a cell phone. |

The two guards quickened their pace. For them it didn't matter who they were escorting. They had their orders - deliver the Vulpine asap to the ASR, despite the fact that Butler ordered her execuion. They quickly entered a car that waited outside the hotel and drove to the ASR. What will happen to the envoy there, is the decision of their master. Adam van Haven smiled. He couldn't have hoped for a better outcome of the situation. So long as nothing unexpected was happening the envoy was on her way to be executed and he would be able to continue his plan. A wise leader would've waited until he had confirmation of her death, rather than trust Butler, but Adam was in a rather hurry to gain new land, so he ordered operation Nightfall to commence right away. Soon the land south will be his, along with its rich deposits of minerals and other stuff. And with the Borsuk leader dead, the rebels won't pose much of a threat for now. Everything was perfect. [OCC: the "land to the south" would be patch number 80, I hope nobody has it :D] |

Riyna tried to be as uncooperative as possible. The guards needed to physically drag her into the vehicle and set her in her seat. She spent the entire car ride searching for a phone. If she could get her emergency card up to a cell phone, the card would automatically cause the phone to dial a number to the emergency Vekaiyun Foreign Distress line, then would input her five-digit code to identify herself. She wasn't entirely sure how it worked, but that was all immaterial. All she needed to do was find one. She noticed the guards' uniforms when they weren't keeping watch of her. She wasn't quite sure if they'd carry phones on them. It wouldn't be worth the risk to try, seeing as she was still alive and apparently being driven to some location. |

ASR "Detention Facility" - somewhere in Korsk -Master Tormentor... we've brought you a new subject- one of the guards said as he pushed Riyna into the room. The chamber - for it should be called this - was rather poorly lit, if one ignored the bright xenon light above a clean silver table. Around the table were all sorts of instruments - scalpels, knives, butcher knives, saws... Behind the table, with his back turned on the guards and their prisoner stood a man in a white lab coat. -A new subject! Moste excellent!- the Master Tormentor said as he slowly turned around. His head was bald, and his eyes were dichromatic, and had a clear madness in them -What? What is this?- the man cackled -You bring me a dog?- -It is a vulpine, Master Tormentor. She is to be studied and killed- The guards said in unison -Vulpine? Have we grown so desperate that we study mere foxes?- the Master Tormentor said. He begin to laugh -I mean, I am an artist- he swallowed and continued -What I do... I do becuase it is an art! And I am the best artistian around. And all the emperor sends me are hu-mans and now a fox? Very well! Leave here. I hope she doesn't have rabies.- the Master Tormentor laughed again. The two guards tied Riyna's hands behind her back, with some difficulty. Then they bowed and left the room -So... do tell me darling, what is you name? Can you even speak? You can tell me... You know, I am an artist. I will make sure you will make a fine painting, like the others who came before you. But I need a title, so do tell me your name if you can speak.- the Master Tormentor waited to hear a response. Imperial Palace -Are the troops ready?- Adam van Haven paced nervously around his office. It had been almost and hour since he issued operation Nightfall - by now his core army should be fully mobilized -Almost my lord- Butler said with a smile -They are loading into the transport ships. Once they are in we will launch them in the direction of Dachsberg, their main city in the reagion to the south. The barbarian Borsuk call it... Borsuktopia. Or so I am lead to believe- -Did you make the thing I asked you to?- Adam said and face Butler directly. His eyes bored into Butler's -You mean... your flag? Yes my lord... although... I am not sure if it is wise to use it.- -Why would utilizing the flayed skin of the Borsuk leader as a flag and his bones as a flag pole be a bad idea? It will break their morale!- Adam said. He dropped his gaze and sat down behind his desk -Any other news?- -Actually....- [OOC: continued in Bad Guy in Drakkengard] |
