LNV Zukovsk, Flagship of the North Roaming Fleet, Nearing Listonian Waters Admiral Konstantin Chirkin, a six foot two inches tall, aging light brown Lobo, walked to the bridge of the Zukovsk after receiving orders from the Miugonik, the headquarters of Laiatan's military. Chirkin stepped through the open door of the bridge, and was immediately greeted by salutes from his subordinates. He returned their salutes, and the bridge went back to work. He approached an electronic map in the center of the bridge, where a Vice Admiral stood, looking over the map. The Vice Admiral looked up at his superior. "Admiral," the Vice Admiral said, shaking Chirkin's hand. "What's the situation, Galkin?" Vice Admiral Arkady Galkin was shorter than Chirkin, standing at five foot eight inches. His fur was a jet black with white minor, his sparkling blue eyes giving him away in his black navy uniform. Galkin was younger than Chirkin as well, the Admiral was nearing his 60th year, while Galkin was only 45. Both were married, their wedding rings glistening in the sunlight from the window. Chirkin had commanded the North Fleet since 1992, while Galkin was appointed Vice Admiral in 2001. In the eleven years the two men knew each other, they had become close friends. Galkin maneuvered the map into position over Listonia and the surrounding waters, revealing the position of their fleet as well as the Vekaiyun fleet, each ship marked with a flag from their respective country. "Vekaiyun reports the last known position of the Lazlowian fleet to be here," Galkin said as he moved a virtual representation of the Lazlowian fleet into position, close to Listonian waters. "They are to be perceived as threats, but we do not have orders to fire upon their vessels. Orders from the Miugonik give us permission to fire upon any vessel that fires upon our vessels, or any threat to Laiatanese interests or allies at your discretion." Chirkin nodded and moved the map over Listonia. He zoomed in onto Ye'leli. "What about our embassy?" Galkin zoomed in on the embassy. "We have orders to evacuate all Laiatanese nationals via the embassy and use helicopters from the Naval Aviation arm marked with a red cross to prevent misinterpretation of our intentions. We've been given permission to put troops from the Naval Infantry branch, as long as they do not step foot outside of the embassy grounds." Chirkin nodded and drew an 'X' on the flat roof of the embassy building. "We'll be evacuating via the roof, women, children and the ambassador first. What about Listonian nationals?" Galkin looked up at Chirkin. "We only have permission to take Listonians who want asylum after all Laiatanese nationals have been evacuated from the embassy." Chirkin sighed and walked to the window, looking over the massive aircraft carrier deck. He turned around to Galkin again. "Okay, begin prepping the helicopters for the evacuation, and let the embassy know we're coming." Laiatanese Embassy, Ye'leli, Listonia Ambassador Yuri Kolpatsenko, middle-aged and a white fur color with blue eyes, finished packing his things from his office and walked with his wife, daughter and an FSO agent to the floor just before the roof. Inside was the rest of the embassy staff, and a few Laiatanese nationals living in the burning capital. Kolpatsenko sat down on the floor next to his eight-year old daughter and held her. His wife sat next to him, and he placed his arm around her. A few more embassy staff members entered the holding room with their families and few personal belongings. Outside, FSO agents in their camouflaged uniform burned documents that could not be taken with the embassy staff on the embassy grounds. Like clockwork, agents brought buckets of shredded paper and sensitive material out to the flames to be burned. Thick black smoked rolled out from the embassy, as FSO agents inside worked to shred as many documents as they could, then take them out to the fires. |

Vulshainian Embassy in Listonia "Alright everyone, you know what to do! We are being evacuated from this embassy in a few short hours. The situation might go south real quick what with Lazlowia sending its fleet in. Get packed, get ready, and stay calm," Honorable Citizen Lilia Shura told her staff. Everyone was almost finished packing. They didn't want to leave anything behind. Documents and files they weren't able to take were immediately destroyed, through shredding, burning, or even soaking them in water and tearing them apart. Small piles of black smoke rose from the embassy grounds. She sighed as she looked outside, waiting for the evac helicopters to arrive. --------------------------------- Vulshainian Southern Fleet, 543 miles from Listonian Waters Aboard the Southern Fleet's flagship, the Ulyanovsk-class aircraft carrier Golden Heart, Admiral Gerard Richard Frederick, received the report. "Alright, are the evac helicopters to remove all staff and personnel from the Vulshainian embassy." "Yes sir. C-SAT teams are ready to move out at once," Captain Mindi Hulu, his second in command replied. "Very well. Contact the Laiatanese fleet and inform them that the Vulshainian Southern Fleet will be joining them. Also, I want all men to keep their trigger fingers calm. I Do Not want an incident here. We are not to fire back unless fired upon, and only after we have received confirmation that it was indeed an attack and not some weapons malfunction. Also, if possible, try to get as many Listonian refugees evacuated as well. I don't care if we have to make several trips to do it." Admiral Frederick sighed. He had not expected to be sent back in the direction of Vekaiyu again. But then again, he was a veteran of the 2010 Vekaiyun Civil War, as he was commander of the naval forces against the Maxists and radical human supremist terrorist groups. |

Meanwhile the Lazlowian fleet was approaching the area, where it split into two parts. One third of the fleet, which was mostly comprised of 4 frigates, 3 light frigates, 4 corvettes and of course several support ships moved quietly between the Vulshainian and South Yugoslavian fleet. With strict orders not the fire on any enemy ship, the high command hoped, that the presence of the Lazlowian fleet between the Vulshainian and South Yugoslavian fleet would delay their linkup. The remaining two thirds of the fleet, which included Lazlowia's sole aircraft carrier, patrolling around the area of Listonia, carefully keeping out of Listonian waters. |

Admiral Frederick smiled as he watched several Lazlowian ships attempted to delay the linkup. "So, the Lazlowians are trying to wedge themselves between us and Laiatan, huh? Clever, very clever. But not clever enough. Execute Gestalt," he ordered. Gestalt was a tactic where a fleet would break off into smaller groups in order to either surround an enemy or to manuever around a blockade. As the order was given, the Southern Fleet broke off into four groups, spreading apart. One group, Group A, which included the flagship would maintain its current course. The other three groups would change course and attempt to confuse the Lazlowians by making slight changes in their directions. Group B would circle around the Lazlowians' port side, while Group C would circle around the Lazlowians' starboard side. Group D would go, well, in various directions while trying to join the rear of the Laiatanese fleet. All of the groups' main objective was to linkup with the Laiatanese fleet. All groups were under strict orders not to fire on any enemy ship. |

LNV Zukovsk Vice Admiral Galkin looked through the binoculars, then turned to Admiral Chirkin. "Admiral, Lazlowian naval forces are moving between our ships and the Vulshainian fleet." Chirkin took the binoculars and peered through them, looking at the distant Lazlowian ships, their banners flapping in the wind. Intertwined with the Lazlowians, Vulshainian naval vessels came closer to the Laiatanese fleet. Chirkin turned to Galkin. "Hold and circle here, wait for the Vulshainians to reach us. No need to get in there with them, and split up our forces." Galkin nodded and moved to begin the orders. Outside, on the deck of the Zukovsk, members of the Naval Infantry branch of the Laiatanese Navy began loading their weapons and loading onto the Vi-8 helicopters that were already up and running. Four helicopters, each with a magnetic red cross on each side of the helicopter and loaded with a few Naval Infantrymen, began taking off and headed to Listonia to rescue the Laiatanese embassy staff. Laiatanese Embassy, Ye'leli, Listonia FSO agents continued burning as much as they could. The embassy staff had been moved to the holding room just under the roof. Four agents walked out onto the roof, and looked up into the sky. They got back to work, and unraveled a massive sheet with a cross painted on it. The sheet was spread out and pinned down onto the roof. The agents headed back inside, and went back to burning sensitive materials. |

Meanwhile, aboard the Third Fleets flagship, the LHH Kund, Vice Admiral Wimmer surveyed the scene. The vulshainian fleet was breaking up, obviously to confuse them. If the rest of the fleet would be here, he thought, then they could easly separate the vulshainian fleet, so it wouldn't be able to form one body again. But since the rest of the lazlowian fleet was near the listonian coast, this was not a possibility. The next best thing to do was, that the lazlowian fleet moves towards the south yugoslavian fleet, since obviously that was the target of the vulshainians. Meanwhile the lazlowian government was deeply concerned about Vekiayu's silence so far. It seemed, that Vekiayu tried to buy some time, until everyone gave up, and then they would take over Listonia. Since Vekiayu achieved it's goals the same way in the first two listonian crisises, Lazlowia was determined not to let the same thing happen again. Jázon Radics, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, argued, that if they can convince Vulshain and South Yugoslavia the pressure Vekiayu to participate in nagotiations. To that end Radics sent a message to the king of Vulshain.

"Sir, the Laiatanese fleet is slowing down so we can catch up. But, the Lazlowians are moving to keep us separated." "Hm...Cancel the Gestalt and double back so we can possibly join them in the rear at full speed, and radio the Laiataneses to send a few ships to help us from being separated. But, have our own ships spread far enough part so we can easily break up if we have to. Also, continue to monitor the Lazlowians' movements." The Southern Fleet doubled back to link up with the Laiatanese fleet in the rear. -------------------------------------- Sam sighed. "Damn. Cecilia just had to go on vacation now. Well, I can handle this."
Sam sent the message. He then had Taisyia send copies of both the message from Lazlowia and his message to them to Zak and his administration as a precaution. Sam sat back in his chair. "Things are probably going to go south, real fast." |

V.S.S. Iguso Yiv Nalokori gazed out at the horizon opposite of the setting sun. Another day at sea had passed, but orders remained the same: do not attack, simply watch. And with all the activity around him, it was getting difficult to simply sit on the sidelines and cower away from the action. He had hoped his ship would be called on to act as an escort, but so far no other order had been given. Just keep watch. He couldn't safely get any closer to the Vekaiyun-Listonian maritime border if he tried. He didn't understand what all the fuss was. Clearly Vekaiyu was policing the nation, wouldn't it make sense to ensure the waters around Listonia were safe too? Maybe that's why he never made it passed the captain of this ship, politics were unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. "And boring," he muttered as he put his binoculars down. "Nineteen hundred hours and all is well!" Nalokori sighed when a messenger ran next to him. "Several trade ships have been given clearance to enter into Listonian waters, sir. They're bound for Yur and will be crossing over in approximately two hours from now." "And what are we to do?" Nalokori asked. "We've not been given any orders other than patrolling the border, sir," he responded. Nalokori smiled. ==== Roughly thirty miles from Ye'leli Farm life wasn't as bad as he once thought. He liked ranching over farming though, but for now he'd take anything just to keep his mind off of things. He found himself sighing a lot. Sighing to divert his anger over how his name was smeared over the region and he was put in prison in an attempt to 'liberate' Listonia. Sighing over the papers that said some pro-Vekaiyun somehow produced 'his' head and decided this was enough to rule Listonia, a-la-Selvala nearly ten years ago. Sighing due to the fact that field work was a tough job and he had just one lung to put in a day's effort. Such was the life of a former dictator. But he really couldn't fit anywhere else. How could he? Who would believe him regarding the plot to overthrow him and pass off a double as the real leader of the nation? The more he thought it over, the more he figured he just didn't have it in him as a leader. Prison time and hard labor allowed his mind to wander into places he hadn't ventured in years. He had to admit, it was nice not to have to work as a crime boss or as a world leader. Here, all he was in charge of was the cows and the hundreds of acres of soy. He loved it. All he had to answer to was the landowner and the occassional Vekaiyun patrol battery. And they were all easy to talk to. Heck, some were downright friendly. Why would he ever want to change it? It was the other times that bothered him. Unable to sleep at nights. Eating by himself. The occasional breaks in the middle of soy crops or cattle. As much as he tried to ignore it or pass it off, he knew somewhere he was needed. Somewhere. But where? Did Listonia really need a person they perceived (and rightfully so based on what his double did) as a bad guy? Did the world really need a guy who was played by Selvala like a fiddle and accepted Vekaiyu's baggage, serving to only harm Listonia's already tarnished reputation? Did Ikrisia really need him? She seemed to be doing well enough on her own based on what he read. After all, she gave Vekaiyu what it wanted around twenty years ago: occupation of Listonia. Somewhere he was needed again. "Hey," another farmhand called out. Evesuni only grunted. "Break in fifteen." He nodded to show some kind of response. A break would be nice right about now, but he knew a half hour later there'd be hours of work to do before it really turned pitch-black out. He shook his head. The more he thought about it, the more he knew this was indeed only a break and he'd go back to being on the world scene again. But how? "Hey!" he shouted back to the farmhand. He started to walk over to where the voice was. "Let 'em know I'm handing in my notice. I need to check out." "Don't you want your cut? You'll lose your pay if you don't work for three months!" "Nah. I'll figure it out. If you need me I'll be heading to the station." "Alright. Good luck!" "Yeah, whatever." |

In the office of the president the recent events were discussed. As it turned out, it was not the real Evesuni, who was killed, which was a bit of a letdown, but the real issue was not that. "-Well, of course just because it was a double who was killed doesn't necessarily means, that Evesuni is still alive. And if he's still alive, then he's most likely still in Listonia, since there's no place where he can run."-said Radics. "-Except Vulshain, because those shitheads would most likely believe, that Evesuni is the second Messiah or whatnot."-added the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Gábor Lörcs. "-Even if Evesuni is not dead physically,"-said Preusz, boiling inside, but trying to keep a calmer appearance on the outside-"he is dead politically. There's no chance, that the listonians will ever accept him again. If he's delusional enough to think he can be in charge again, then he can play charades as long as he wants, it won't make a difference. What I'm more concerned about is Vulshain. They say, that we are the aggressors, yet they have their full fleet there, supposedly for 'humanitarian purposes', Vekiayu is already looting Listonia, South Yugoslavia is trigger happy as always, and it only takes one mistake, for which they will of course blame us, for the shooting to start, and what is the king's greatest concern? That where is that bloody Evesuni and that he accidentally said 'Guten tag' to the elephanian leader. Bloody fantastic."- he slammed his hands on the table. "-They are a stubborn lot, they like to think of themselves as crusaders fighting for justice, even if they have no sense of reality. Regardless, I will try to convince them, that immediate negotiations are the best route."-said Radics. "-You do that. In the mean time, we have another thing to deal with."-Preusz picked up the phone and called his secretary-"Comrade Kovács, has the Sevropian ambassador arrived yet? Send him in!" Davor Filipovic, the Sevropian ambassador, stepped into the room, where he was greeted by everyone present. "Mr. Filipovic, how are things in Sevropia?"-asked Preusz the ambassador, after they all sat down. "-Obviously these recent events have deeply affected the feelings of our nation, as you might understand. Many argue, that now is the time to take back which was stole from us three years ago. While his Serene Highness and the Chancellor agree with these opinions, our ideas on how to achieve this goal obviously differs from those propagated by the extreme right, which have unfortunately gathered great support in the past years." "-That is understandable. I presume, that if a referendum would be held in the questionable territories in Listonia, a result favorable for Sevropian would be possible?" "-I'm convinced of that." "-Sir, I can give you no guarantees, only my support, and when the negotiations will take place, we will take your side. However we must also be prepared to all possibilities." "-We have nothing to fear and we have nothing to hide. Our case is clear, and everyone will see, that the mutilation of Sevropia caused great harm. It will be also made clear, that the claims about genocide in Sevropia are all lies and slander, created by Vekiayu to smear our name." Later, after the meeting, Radics wrote another letter to the Vulshainian king.

Volkgoroda, Laiatan Zak slammed his pen down onto his desk. "Can somebody please tell me why the hell things are going so wrong with Lazlowia?" The men standing before him flinched when the pen slammed against the desk. One of the men started speaking, but was cut off. "Admiral, I was not finished speaking." Zak stood up and looked out the Presidential Office window at the smoke-laden skyline of Volkgoroda. "As we speak, our navy is getting closer and closer to participating in an all out shooting war with those communists. And of course, it'll be pinned on us by them, when they're moving their ships between ours and the Vulshainians." Zak's laptop beeped, indicating an email alert. He turned around and faced the men. "Every vessel and member of our military has permission to fire on Lazlowian vessels and personnel if they are fired upon or feel threatened. I'm not having a repeat of what happened with the Et Miseri. I want a report on my desk six AM tomorrow morning." Each of the men nodded their heads and exited the office, silently closing the door behind them. Zak sat down in his chair and opened up the email. He read the messages from Sam and sighed. "Damn it Sam." Zak shut his eyes and rubbed his face. He looked back at his laptop screen and began typing a reply.
LNV Zukovsk, Outside Listonian Waters "Are the Vulshainians catching up," Admiral Chrikin asked, looking out towards the throng of naval vessels. "They're attempting to, but the Lazlowians are moving closer to our vessels," Vice Admiral Galkin replied, looking through binoculars. Chirkin sighed. "Move our destroyers to cover our flanks, and launch a few fighters. If the bastards try anything, we'll blow them out of the water. Armthe fighters with anti-ship missiles, and do not allow them to fire unless they're fired on. They will stay over our ships and cover the Vulshainians." Galkin nodded and walked over to the map and began issuing orders. Galkin watched as pilots and copilots approached their planes and began taking off via the catapult system. Laiatanese Embassy, Ye'lei, Listonia One of the four helicopters touched down on top of the embassy and deployed the Naval Infantrymen onto the roof. They moved quickly and began loading the ambassador, his family and as many employees as they could in one helicopter. This continued for nearly 20 minutes, until all of the employees were loaded onto the helicopters, taking up three of the helicopters. The other was loaded with boxes filled with important files, and the Naval Infantrymen. The helicopters arrived back at the carrier and unloaded their precious cargoes, leaving the embassy locked up and empty. |

"I'm the Admiral, I have every right to be corny." "True." The Vulshainian Southern Fleet went at full speed, hoping to reach the Laiatanese fleet. "Sir, several of our frigates and subs have met up with the Laiatanese!" The Admiral smiled. "And the Lazlowians?" "Still closing in, but we should make it in time." "Good." The Southern Fleet was quickly gaining ground, er, water that is. It would be a few hours before the Laiatanese fleet and the rest of the Vulshainian fleet linked up though. ------------------------------------------- Vulshainian embassy, Ye'lei, Listonia "Is everyone ready?" There has been discussion in the Bai Lungese assembly to lift some of the restrictions imposed within the Listonia-Bai Lung mainland border, primarily because of the Listonia conflict which occured 3 years ago. The capital New Xinjiang is roughly 50 miles away from Dong Men, the city which is closest to Listonia. Business is struggling somewhat as a result of the restriction imposed by the Bai Lung Border Act 2009 (Revised December 2009). The most controversial provision of the law which got media all riled up is the closing of business by 1 hour earlier. MLA are now currently proposing to revise the act by repealing some of the provisions. Here is an excerpt from a Conservative MLA pertaining to this law:
The Conservative MLAs also note that the budget deficit has only decreased by 0.25% of GDP for this quarterly year, despite heavy austerity measures. Prime Minister Lin has repeatedly called for across-the-board tax cuts. The proposed Bai Lung Border Act 2012 proposes the following:

((OOC: Will do, just working on other stuff, lol!)) Southeast quarter, Ye'leli "So what brings you back to us?" Yensey Layastrovyey asked. A collection of gunmen wearing black suits began to surround the intruder as a few more blocked the lone exit from the building. "Hold on, hold on," coughed Enlil Y'vnastroyu. "He's worth a lot to me if someone makes a bounty." Evesuni scoffed and pushed a gunman aside. "Bounty? One year ago we met on the warmest of terms, Enlil!" "As warm as the tip of my cigar." He motioned for Evesuni to sit in a chair. "So, what brings you to my establishment? What, you lose your nation and now you want us to get it back for you?" Evesuni sat down as he exhaled from his nose. "Get it back? I never lost it." "Maybe you haven't read the papers," Yensey barked. He threw it at him. "First you're dead. Now you're alive. First it's a Vekaiyun thing. Now they want other nations involved. Which is it?" "Well that's not very nice," he remarked. "They throw a party and don't invite us?" "I'd start talking if I were you," Enlil said. "You're in a lot of hot water and I don't really like the fact that this is the first time you've met with me in almost one year's time." Evesuni held up his hands. "I will tell you, but I wouldn't be shocked if you didn't believe me." He leaned back. "It starts with Leon. Leon turned on me and worked a plan out with Sakeyuz to overthrow me. They got a double, I was sent to prison. Tried to get out of it, but I couldn't. After all, I built the stupid thing. Anyway that was back in August. A month ago Leon got cold feet and tried to reverse what he did. It was the last mistake he ever made." Yensey snorted. "Sounds like a bunch of bull." Enlil shrugged. "I could tell I guess. Your language was different." He shrugged. "Sounds like something Salvatoro would do. But that's just me. How 'bout a whole freakin country?" Evesuni smiled. "I have enough email records to show you this was a Sakeyuz plot all along. Heck, there's much evidence left at the Hall that I'm surprised they haven't recovered yet. Some guy in Vekaiyu is working on figuring out this double thing, so I don't need to worry about that. All I need is the prison records to prove I was there and not leading the country, and I'll have everything I need." "So you think they'll just award you the nation, eh?" Enlil laughed. "That's right. They'll feel sorry for you and decide to let you have another shot." "Leave that to me," Evesuni gritted. "I was able to keep this nation running well in the two years I was dictator, right? I need those records back at the Hall from Salvatoro's office released immediately. Get them in the hands of the media. Build up credibility that there was in fact a double shooting the works. Get the prison records and look for 'IGOVELINISI 449-320'. There you'll find everything you want. And finally," he said, his tone turning sour. "I want Salvatoro. I want him badly. You find that guy for me, I'll give you what you want." "And what's that?" Enlil asked. He pointed to the paper. "A free Listonia, of course. Having trouble doing your work now that Listonia's on the spotlight again, right?" Enlil and Yensey looked at each other. "Where will you be?" Yensey asked. "I'll be around. Seeing how Yu Levolar is, and enjoying my newest addition - Sakeyuz. Making a few phone calls. Talking to people." "We're not about to allow elbow room for those groups to get back into the picture," Enlil muttered. "You do this all for me, and we'll see what we can do about dividing up those orgs. If I'm leading, I can't be involved in crime, too. That was my mistake from last term." He smiled. "A fifty-fifty split. For Lont," he said as he looked at Enlil, then turned to Yensey, "and Sipani. Right down the middle. If not, I'd be happy to enter into competition with you both." Yensey smiled. "You mean we won't have to deal with you anymore?" He shook his head. "You have my word. I'll make good. Just keep the underground on alert. I'll get back to you when I'm done." |

There is increasing dissent from both major parties with regards to easing the border in the Bai Lungese mainland. The highly controversial and outspoken Conservative backbencher Darrell Ai Sha, who dubs himself the Im Hunter and has established a website in July 2009 called 'Im Watch', which monitors alleged corrupt activities of the President. Mr Ai has called for the easing of the mainland restrictions to be shelved until President Im explains the situation regarding the missing General Theodore Smyth timepiece which was found in the Nahrin Union.

The lazlowian government eventually agreed to Vekiayu's terms to have the negotiations held in Vekiayu. After all, it made little difference. Meanwhile the third fleet observed the vulshianian and south yugoslavian fleets meeting. On the long run this too meant little difference. For all intents and purpouses, the third fleet did it's job: the two enemy fleets played charades long enough, and in the meantime they lost time, while, if the letters sent by the king of Vulshain were any indications, the government of Vulshain was sufficiently intimidated by the mere presence of the lazlowian ships. The third fleet, with the job done, to course towards the rest of the Lazlowian navy, which was near the Listonian coast. |

With increasing speculation that the Im administration is rife with corruption in the wake of the watch incident, (See: http://theeastpacific.com/index.php?showtopic=7457&st=30&hl= ) an increasing number of MLAs. all of them Conservative MLAs, are more interested in finding out what really happened during the Bai Lung-Nahrin Union debacle/spat/diplomatic crisis. None of the Labour MLAs are having any of it and are attempting to pass important provisions of the Bai Lung Mainland Borders Act 2012 ASAP such as normal business hours and more flights to the mainland. Dissdent is also appearing from the Labour party too but for totally different reasons. Some of them think the current laws should stay until the situation in Listonia is fully resolved and even if the conflict takes 50 years to end, then the law will last 50 years. Labour Presidential candidate is a vocal supporter of the current law and has repeatedly made his case to keep the existing law. Meanwhile, President Im is fighting tooth and nail to keep the mainland border relaxation laws the top headline in every Bai Lungese media outlet including BLCTV News but to no avail. Every paper has printed on every headline: NAHRIN WATCH-GATE GRIPS THE NATION. President Im gave a short video message to the nation in an effort to keep this mainland reform proposal alive. Richard Im: "I ask the Assembly to focus on passing reforms in the mainland territories instead of fillibustering and delaying unnecessarily. Our goal is to work with the Bai Lungese people and I want to see all MLAs abiding by that promise." Unfortunate for Im, the message which was originally directed to the Conservative MLAs, caused the ire of the Labour MLAs who were doing the delaying and fillibustering in the first place. Ironically, they were doing it because they wanted te keep the mainland border reforms on top of the headlines. Doh! |

"Premier Levinile," solike general Yensey Naligova announced. "I have interesting news from the Gulf." "Do tell," she replied, not looking up from her paperwork. "It appears the Lazlowian Navy has moved out of international waters and has entered Listonian maritime borders." "Ah," she replied. "I was wondering when that would happen." She stopped writing and looked up at the general. "Has Kral Commodore Nevikalu said anything?" "He's requesting to move the first roaming fleet into Listonian waters and intimidate any advancing ships." "Granted," she said while holding her hands up slightly in a matter-of-fact way. "If Lazlowia was truly interested in solving this peacefully, they'd keep their ships out of Listonian waters. We've done what we can, and our offer still stands: peace in the Gulf is our prime objective. We cannot afford to jeopardize our transports to and from Lykyevyu and Yishevyu, nor can we afford an unstable Listonia." "Understood, m'lady." "Let Nevikalu know that I am at my breaking point with this fiasco. The chatter I've heard from their group has not comforted me in the least, nor has their theatrics in the gulf. Inform the navies of Laiatan and Vulshain to stay on alert and be watchful. If Lazlowia can pressure us abroad, we can pressure them abroad, too. Unless Lazlowia changes its tune, they will suddenly find considerable foreign interest involved in the center of the East Pacific realm." "Yes, milady" "Dismissed." |
