From the MPA "Values," on "Pacts:"

Quote:

Any representative may submit a Pact to the Assembly which can affect the workings of MPA-involved regions. Pacts may be sponsored by one nation from any member region of the MPA. Pacts may contradict neither the Values of the MPA nor the MPA Treaty nor any preexisting Pacts in any way. Pacts must be approved by a majority vote of the MPA Aseembly in order to be sent to the governments of all MPA-involved regions for ratification. Pacts will only take effect in MPA-involved regions that have chosen to approve them; those that refuse to ratify Pacts will not be required to abide by their terms. Only member regions of the MPA may approve official MPA Pacts. Any MPA member region which has ratified a Pact may retract that ratification at any time to terminate a Pact's influence on their region. Any Pacts may be removed from all areas of effect at any time by a 75% majority vote of the MPA Assembly.

The Pact:

Quote:

The governments of the Modern Pacific Alliance which choose to approve this pact express their approval of and agree to comply with the terms dictated within its text.

MPA Press Pact: sponsored by Southern Bellz of The South Pacific.

The Modern Pacific Alliance hereby establishes the Modern Pacific Press (MPP), an organization established by the MPA and under the authority of the Pacific Press Editor in Chief.

The Editor in Chief is to be elected by the MPA Assembly, which will nominate candidates and decide by popular vote which willing candidate will assume the position.

It is the job of the Editor in Chief to write and/or compile news articles which should include information and/or material willingly supplied to the MPP by nations from MPA-involved regions.

The governments of MPA-involved nations which have ratified this pact will strongly encourage some of their members to join the efforts of the MPP to create interesting, informative, accurate news articles which will help keep the public informed of current and/or important events within the feeder/sinker regions.

The MPP Editor in Chief is at liberty to decide which pieces of information and/or which written material will enter MPP articles and will organize these articles in any fashion he or she chooses to. If the MPP Editor in Chief fails to release a new MPP news article after 60 consecutive days, the MPA Assembly is at liberty to replace him/her. The MPP Editor in Chief is required to alert the delegates of MPA-involved regions which have ratified this pact of newly published articles. The Editor in Chief must also publish the articles in the MPA forums and publish them in the forums of all MPA-involved regions which have ratified this pact. It is recommended that the MPA Editor in Chief also publish MPP news articles in the NationStates "Gameplay" forum.

The delegates of MPA-involved regions which have ratified this pact are to post links to MPP articles in their regions’ regional message boards soon after the articles are published. These delegates are also encouraged post pieces of the most recent MPP article in their region’s RMB.

Have the waters been tested to see if there is interest for the editing/contributing roles presented here? It's a good idea, but I want to make sure we don't create a newspaper that never publishes :P

SB certainly seems interested, and there are plenty of people who write newsletters for our own regions who could direct a lot of attention to the MPP, no?

If we are voting now I'd vote for this. Anyways I think this is a good idea. I don't really now to much of what occurs outside this region so this can be a convenient way to get that information.
