Potential Concordat Convention

This is open to anyone on the forums, but I am primarily focused on the answers from the Magisterium here.

As we get more and more people responding, we've had a few ideas to change the structure of our government. Many of these ideas can be handled in the form of a small concordat convention. I for one would not be opposed to bring in members from other regions to help us out - I know many constitution writers who can avoid the pitfalls made by past regimes. Regardless, it may be time to go over our laws, make a few changes, and apply them accordingly.

I am pretty sure we can do this if it's done the right way. That way being the following:

Quote:

Section 3) The Magisterium shall have the authority to propose an amendment to this Concordat by a 2/3 vote; such an amendment must receive the support of 3/4 of those Citizens voting in a referendum administered by the Conclave.

I don't like the wording, however. I believe we'd be better suited to have the citizens vote first, then have you all give it the final go-through to ensure it reads well and there's no problems (though you all would be part of the citizen referendum, so really I think that step shouldn't be a huge problem).

We have an inactive Conclave. This seems like a difficult hurdle to overcome. Unless they all are willing to work together and organize this, I volunteer to lead the discussion. If that's a problem, so be it. I'd rather be impeached for doing something constructive than see the region in disarray.

Lead on. I'd rather see your ideas before suggesting my own.

Although, perhaps I'm not in the position to tell you to "lead on." Let's see what the Provost says.

We have an inactive Conclave.

If we can find someone to replace them, the Magisterium can remove arbiters on a 3/4 vote

Most excellent. I will make a post in the Conclave tonight pointing this out. We should give this it's own sub-forum, so I will also contact the admin team on the matter.

It would be excellent if we could get 2-3 arbiters to field this so we follow protocol. If not, we can resort to other means.

I think it's a good idea and I don't know if I should post here but also Tom I think you should make an Amendment that say's The deleget can take over the conclave responsibilities for some things like CITIZENSHIP and other essentially things if they become inactive for a certain amount of time like 28 days perhaps and to keep it from becoming a problem with too much power you could make it to where the Magistairiom must have a 2/3 vote for it to go in affect just a suggestion(I think it's a good one and I would support a concordat convention)

Aye, that is a suggestion, but as it stands right now I cannot simply put a law like that into effect - we have an active Magisterium who may draft policies like that, and I plan to use all sides of the government to create change.

And, you know, something we could do is bring the Conclave down to just trials and stuff, and have citizenship be handled by it's own office.
^This way, if that person goes inactive, they'll be easier to replace.

I do agree with you on that, it enables more minds to brainstorm our concordat

Given on how the size reduction of the conclave, or possibly even its merge with the magisterium are issues of the convention, i think itŽll be more proper if Todd presides. But iŽll obviously will participate in the talks.

Right now, it's the responsibility of the Viceroy. Though changing this is part of whats being discussed in the convention.

Said discussion is taking place here (<Clicky!)
