Out of the dozen or so remains of the electricized grunts, only one of them rose from the punishment delivered to him. Seemingly being unfazed by the lightning he received just minutes ago, he ‘twitched’ his head to remember the forgotten sensation, but sighed in disappointment as he made a verbal reminder to himself,
“It’s a shame I can’t be punished like that anymore for my failures, but then again, I suppose it isn’t that shocking anymore!”
With a childish laughter, the man disappeared from his area and reappeared into the next area where he could stealthily blend in among the severely outmatched ‘guards’ without anyone realizing his presence. This time, however, he equipped a pair of blades onto his wrists while gripping his baton, and screamed his sole thought out as he sprinted to confront the “heroic” metas again.
“This is going to be fun!”

OOC: The ‘distraction’ that explains how two sets of metas were able to get into the compound.
The strange figure standing up after the carnage that Gabriel Cherub and Windrider had inflicted surprised Cherub. “This one must be the meta that the USS Ambassador was talking about,” Cherub called out to Windrider. “Be wary, I don’t know what he does.” No sooner had Cherub finished talking when the shadowy figure disappeared and reappeared next to the Golden Rogue reinforcements, and pulled his blades out. Abaddon be damned, he can teleport! Cherub thought. Cherub readied his staff, and observed Windrider channeling his powers. We could handle this meta together, but I don’t know about the grunts along with the meta. I think both of us are going to separate Subject-145 from the grunts.
Windrider launched a localized tornado at the gaggle of grunts and Subject-145 just inside the compound. Gabriel Cherub added some debris to the tornado by using the whip feature on his staff to throw a bunch of desks and chairs and other similar objects at the grunts and Subject-145. Subject-145 was too fast, grabbing a grunt and teleporting with him out of the path of the tornado. He reappeared in front of Cherub and shoved the grunt at Cherub, disorienting Cherub. Subject-145 used the lost focus of the demon to dance around Cherub, slashing at him. Cherub, outmatched by a superior speedster, had to use his instincts, blocking where he believed the slashes were going to be. His natural armor provided some protection, but it was only a matter of time before a slash would hit a weak point. Luckily for Cherub, when one of Subject-145’s slash was parried, the momentum carried his blade into a nearby desk, getting stuck in the wood. Unfortunately, Cherub lost control of his staff in the attack, and it flew just out of reach. By this time, some of the grunts not directly in the path of the tornado had recovered from having debris thrown at them and started to fire their weapons at Cherub. Cherub dove behind a desk to avoid the weapons fire.
Both fighters broke off the engagement and tried to retrieve their weapons. Subject-145 was able to successfully pull his blade out of the desk, and Cherub grabbed his weapon. Unfortunately, a grunt successfully shot Cherub with his rifle, giving Cherub a small amount of damage. Subject 145 teleported into the tornado, grabbed a heavy object, and pulled it out, using the force of the wind to add momentum to his throw as he teleported once again and heaved it at Windrider. Windrider was able to get out of the way but did receive a glancing hit on his left shoulder by the heavy object.
Cherub, meanwhile, attempted to grab the heavy object with his whip, but could not grab it in time. He caught it after Windrider was hit and slung it at the guards. Two TGR grunts are hit with the thrown object, leaving only four still conscious. Luckily for Cherub, the object nicked 145 as he teleported to slash at Windrider, impacting the teleporter’s attack. Even while hurt, Windrider is able to dodge the subsequent throat-slashing attack by Subject 145.
Windrider flew up but was limited by his field of vision into the compound. Fortunately, Windrider locked on to Subject-145 and threw a lightning bolt at him, and successfully hit Subject-145 with it. Electricity coursed through Subject-145, and shot him back across the compound, hitting a wall and landing near the four remaining grunts. Subject-145’s already insane brain was addled by the bolt, but somehow his speed got replenished as the neurons in his body worked on overdrive.
The tornado, meanwhile, dissipated, as Windrider’s eyes blazed pure white behind his shades as dark clouds began rolling in above the compound, along with the sound of distant thunder that could be felt more than heard. Something more ‘dangerous’ has caught Windrider’s attention and that ‘something’ was Subject-145.
Windrider was successfully able to channel the dangerous winds and the storm, causing the power to swirl around him. However, the injury he received made his ability to handle the immense power of the storm difficult. Meanwhile, Cherub was very quick with his strong leg, kicking a heavy desk at the remaining TGR grunts and Subject-145. It hit the grunts dead-on, rendering them incapacitated, and clipped Subject-145 on one of his legs as he teleported away. Subject-145 did something Cherub did not expect, and as Cherub readied himself for the maniac to reappear, Subject-145 teleported above Cherub’s head, grabbed the top of the staff while saying, Hey, this looks nice. Imma borrow this reeaaalll quick!, and used his momentum to slam Cherub backwards. Cherub’s hands hit the ground first, and he lost control of his staff. Seizing the moment, Subject-145 teleported, staff and all, away from Cherub, and directly into the storm that Windrider had channeled. He threw the staff into the storm and teleported away from it. The staff flew about in the storm, whacking Windrider as it finally flew out of the storm, a good hundred feet or so away from the compound. Gabriel Cherub observed this all occur, and grimaced, for he lost the item that he can use to channel his energy powers.
Pissed off and frustrated for losing his weapon so easily, Gabriel Cherub grabbed a nearby stun baton. He attempted to power it up, but noticed its charge was gone. Seizing an idea, he called out to Windrider, “if you can shoot a charge into this baton, I bet we can give it enough juice to knock out this freak.” Windrider was busy preparing to channel the storm overheard and was not paying attention to Cherub. Not receiving a response, Cherub stood in a combat stance with the weapon, ready to defend himself against Subject-145’s attacks. Subject-145 did reappear, but he went for Windrider instead of Cherub, only responding with, “The pot is calling the kettle black!” to Cherub’s freak comment. Subject-145 teleported to attack Windrider, hoping to cripple him and putting him into eternal rest.
Through really fortunate (or unfortunate) timing, Windrider used the previous lull to channel a lightning bolt and used his electrokinesis abilities to ionize the air around him. Holding his left hand up, a huge lightning bolt came shooting down from the storm clouds above and right into his hand. Immediately his whole body was surrounded by a blindingly intense white lightning field, disrupting and ionizing the very air surrounding Windrider. He smirked at Subject-145, also grimacing from the wound, and yelled, “you’re not grounded now!”
The final ionization of the air took place just as Subject-145 teleported behind Windrider. Subject-145 was able to get one slash off, before being absolutely pummeled by the electricity in the air. He was blasted to the ground and fell as a crumpled heap, incapacitated in his legs due to the fall. Unfortunately for Windrider, due to his previous injury, he was unable to control the amount of electricity in the air, and he also got blasted to the ground. He was able to cling to consciousness, however, though he rested on one knee for a good amount of time so as to reorient himself.
Seeing the crumpled mess of Subject-145 on the ground, Gabriel Cherub sprung up, baton ready to knock him out, but as he tried to whack the maniac with his baton, Subject-145 vanished. Subject-145 reappeared, still in a heap, about 20 feet away. Springing forward, Cherub tried again, but missed due to Subject-145 teleporting again, and again. To Cherub, it appeared that the blast Subject-145 took caused his brain to get so addled that he was unable to control his powers. He couldn’t stop teleporting around the compound!
Gabriel Cherub realized that he would waste precious time to try and catch Subject-145, so he walked over to Windrider and steadied him, and looked out to the carnage that took place inside that compound. He also noticed a mess of bodies that weren’t the result of the fighting between these three metas and surmised that someone else must have used the distraction they caused to sneak into Ketch’s lair.
