ANGER AT ELECTRICITY COMPANY FOR NON-APOLOGY STATEMENT.

Pingjing residents have expressed their anger at Bai Lung Light and Elecricity Company (BLLEC) for issuing a statement that did not contain an apology to those affected by yesterdays blackout.

At around 0100 yesterday morning a blackout affected 50% of residents living in the city centre. The blackout lasted 6 hours and powered was completely restored by 7:30 AM.

BLLEC issued a statement confirming the restoration of electrical power and mentioned that some residents were left inconvenienced by the event, they did not apologise for the blackout. Residents have hit out at the non-apology statement and demanded compensation.

KETAMINE WARS: DRUGS FOUND INSIDE XIAO LONG BAO.

Police have found several pills of ketamine inside frozen Xiao Long baos inside a truck they have intercepted.

The authorities have confirmed that a truck had been intercepted at Route 11 outside Port To following a tip-off of a drugs shipment going to the port. Upon closer inspection, 5 tonnes of the dumplings contianed the drug and none of them were concealed with meat and other ingrendients associated with the popular food.

Authorities have confirmed that a 22 year old man has been arrested.

BAIJU WILL NEVER SUBSTITUTE WUJI FOR NEXT DRINKING CONTEST.

A local shock jock has warned MLAs that they will risk their political careers if they advocate replacing Wuji beverage for Baiju in next years Lunar New Year drinking contest in Cheng Lung.

Zhu Bótè, who comes from the town, has discussed about the recent rise of Baiju as a serious competitor spirit drink to Wuji. Last saw a 90% rise in Baiju sales compared to 45% for Wuji.

But the commentator has warned that replacing Wuji with Baiju will destroy the spirit of the contest and any politican who wants the highly potent drink replaced for the 2025 Lunar New Year contest will not be re-elected.

Head of the National Fisheries Po Li-Er has lambasted the World Assembly for voting against the repeal of the Sensible Limits on Hunting.

PRESIDENT GONG WARNS HUNTERS NOT TO FLOUT EXISTING PROTECTED SPECIES LAWS.

President Gong Chūrù has warned hunters to not flout the existing Wildlife, Sealife and Countryside Protection Act 2007 despite the World Assembly failing to repeal the Sensible Limits on Hunting.

Bai Lung currently regulates the hunting or fishing or land, sea or air species under the Wildlife, Sealife and Countryside Protection Act 2007 and those who violate the act are liable to pay a fine of BL$250,000 and/or serve a 12 year prison sentence.

Following the failure to repeal the hunter’s regulation resolution at the World Assembly, there has been a large spike of arrests related to illegal hunting in the country with 100 hunters being arrested under the at. President Gong has warned hunters not to break the country’s existing. When asked if he will repeal the bill, he has cited other issues as key priorities in his government.

PINGJING METRO FARE INCREASE BY 2.5% EFFECTIVE FROM MONDAY.

Average fares for the Pingjing Metro will increase by 2.5% starting from tomorrow.

This means those travelling from Pingjing Times Square to Pingjing Tai Fung will pay BL$1.85, up from BL$1.8.

Despite year on year condemnation of fare increases by the public, the Pingjing Metro board has defended the fare hikes, citing inflation and increase in transport nominal wage index which recorded a 5% year on year increase in December last year.

MOTHER WHO ABANDONED CHILD IS DRUG MULE.

A single mother who left her 2 year old daughter at Port To is revealed to be a drug mule running away from authorities following a botched drug trafficking operation.

Ai Měixīng abandoned her two year old after an eagle eyed member of the public identified her as one of the drug mules who were transporting ketamine from Port To to Port Sung. The eyewitness, who did not wished to be named, said Ai fled as soon as her cover was blown, leaving her child behind who was actually carrying the drugs.

Ai was caught in an abandoned power plant some 10 miles away from the city.

A heckler has thrown a cup red bean soup in the direction of President Gong Chūrù who turned up during an appearance at Retail Con 2024.

RETAIL EVENT GOERS BARRED FROM BRINGING DRINKS TO AUDITORIUM.

Attendees of the Retail Con 2024 in Pingjing will be forbidden to bring drinks to the main auditorium.

The new restrictions were put in place shortly after Wu Xuǎndān, a left wing activist, threw red bean soup at the direction of President Gong Chūrù but missed his target.

PUBLIC WARNED OF FAKE BANK NOTES IN LIGHT OF MASS SCAM.

President Gong Chūrù has warned the public to be more vigilant of any bank notes they carry in public after 20 gang members were arrested for using counterfeit notes.

The mobsters, whose affiliations are unknown, used BL$10 and BL$20 to pay for taxi rides in Pingjing.

Following an anonymous tip-off, police raided an apartment in central Pingjing and found 2,000 fake BL$100 notes.

BASIC SELF DEFENSE RIGHTS RESOLUTION IS PASSED.

President Gong Chūrù has praised the World Assembly for passing the Basic Self-Defense Rights resolution.

The resolution passed easily by 7,651 votes to 3,616.

Passage of the resolution has effectively enshrined a private property owner the right to defend themselves and their properties.

President Gong Chūrù has defended organisers for imposing a no food policy at Retail Con 2024.

The policy, seen by many event goers as ridiculous, bans retail companies from bringing in real food to their display stalls despite the event being retail oriented. They are permitted to bring plastic reproductions of their latest products.

Despite event organisers and President Gong defending the policy as security related in the light of the activist throwing red bean soup at the latter, event goers noted the irony of the policy, saying retailers are showcasing their latest food produce but can’t bring in real food to the venue.

TEENAGER ARRESTED FOR VAN THEFT.

An 18 year old teenager has been arrested for stealing a taxi and engaging in a police chase.

Zhang Hóngyǎn admitted to stealing a taxi in central Pingjing and driving down Route 5 at speeds of over 100 mph. Zhang carrying a rucksack added to the false perception that he was a bank robber.

The police chase ended when authorities deployed spike stripes in junction 22 of Route 5. Zhang subsequently did not resist arrest.

KASHGAR LEADER CONDEMNS DESTRUCTION OF CEREMONIAL RUG.

Kashgar strongman Iffan Omarsk has condemned the individuals who destroyed the rug he used to be sworn in as leader.

24 hours ago, the Kashgar hardliner had announced that his ceremonial rug had been stolen by unknown assailants and claimed that Bai Lungese youths were responsible.

Omarsk’s accusations were confirmed when 3 Bai Lungese youths filmed themselves tearing open his rug and urinating on it. They also taunted the strongman for his ‘f–ed up culture’. Shortly after the video was released online, Omarsk issued a decree calling for the deaths of the trio.

FILM DIRECTOR DELAYS WORK OVER CENSORSHIP ISSUES.

Indy film director Wang Mending has delayed the release of his latest project due to issues with the censors.

The Media Ratings Board has demanded that Wang cut 10 minutes from his film War of 2007, a fictionalised account of the Bai Lung-Dannistaan war of 2007. Much of the requested cuts centre around violence and the political aspects. If the cuts are made, the film would have been granted an 18+ certificate and the film will be screen nationwide on 20th August.

But Mr Wang has announced that he will not comply with the request and will appeal against the decision.

All college/university students who graduated with a degree in dentistry must undergo a two year internship starting from 2025.

The Assembly of Bai Lung passed the Dental Registration Ordinance Act following a tenth reading of the bill’s amendment.

The act, which will be effective from 1st January 2025, comes in response to a series of malpractice from fake dentists performing dentistry on patients and leaving them with life changing injuries whilst scamming them out of their money.

200 MLAS SIGN OPEN LETTER CONDEMNING ECONOMIST’S OP-ED ON NATION’S ECONOMY.

200 MLAs have signed a letter condemning an economist’s views on Bai Lung’s economy.

‘Carson’ Teng Chōngshuǐ has wrote an op-ed in the Pingjing Daily giving his opinion on the country’s current economic performance. Whilst praising the 6% GDP growth during 2022-23, he criticised the country’s restrictive immigration policies calling it narrow minded. Mr Teng has called for President Gong Chūrù to allow people from different countries to migrate to the country.

But 200 MLAs have condemned Mr Teng’s comments, calling it wreckless. They pointed out their strong economic growth is due to the nation’s reliance on local talent instead of importing overseas individual.

FILM CLASSIFICATION BOARD REJECTS 2ND SUBMISSION OF WAR FILM.

The Media Ratings Board has rejected a recut version of Wang Mending’s War of 2007, just days after he announced that he would appeal the original decision.

Mr Wang submitted a hastily recut version of his film, removing 5 minutes of the most violent scenes and replacing them with less violent shots.

However, the board has deemed the recut version as being too violent for general release and re-iterated their requests to have the film cut by 10 minutes.

W.A VOTES DOWN PERSONHOOD RESOLUTION.

The World Assembly has voted against the Convention on Personhood resolution.

The resolution failed to pass by 9,748 votes to 2,452.
