The Port To council has closed off the lower east section of the Yìyuán Sūn Park in anticipation of modifying the area to make it safer for residents to walk around in.

The area become a popular spot for homeless individuals to hang around and partake in huffing various solvents due to the lack of lighting and surveillance equipment.

However, the closure of the area signals the council’s serious intent to improve the park’s public image.

A Wuchuan councillor has been fined BL$1,000 and a 2 year licence ban for speeding down Route 17 at 100 mph.

Dao Hāěr admitted to the offense on 10th November last year. His only defense in the trial was that he was late for a conference in the area at that date.

Whilst some expressed satisfaction at Dao’s punishment, others argue that Mr Dao should have resigned from his position as he is a public servant and leading by example is a priority for all public figures.

MAN ARRESTED IN BAI LUNG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR DRUG SMUGGLING.

A man has been arrested for smuggling 50,000 ecstacy pills in several thermal flasks packed in his luggage.

Yang Yùzhào was stopped at customs after an anonymous tip-off was made about an individual flying into the country with thousands of the addictive drug and described the drug smuggler’s outfit.

Airport security has also discovered Mr Yang was hiding more drugs through swallowing them with balloons.

A Wuchuan councillor is facing immense pressure to step down from his position after being found guilty of speeding in a motorway.

Dao Hāěr has been fined BL$1,000 and a 2 year licence ban for driving down Route 17 at 100 mph on 10th November last year.

An online petition was created shortly after his fine, calling for his resignation. Gaining over 2,000 signatures, the petition has demanded Mr Dao to step down, arguing that his role as a public servant has been compromised.

PINGJING COUNCIL WITHDRAWS CLIMBING PERMIT FOR PROFESSIONAL ROCK CLIMBER.

The Pingjing council has made a last minute withdrawal of granting professional rock climber to climb the Wànyí building in the capital.

Yang Tèyà was due to climb the 100 storey building with any safety equipment on 28th February this year.

Without giving a detailed reason, the council said they would revoke the permit for him to make the climb and called for individuals to promote the safety and welfare of others.

MAN ARRESTED FOR CUTTING SEATBELTS OF 10 UNATTENDED TAXIS.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of cutting the seatbelts of 10 unattended taxi cabs in Pingjing.

Tien Nándé allegedly cut the seatbelts of the taxis with pruning shears whilst the drivers briefly left their vehicles unattended, primarily to pick up food in nearby restaurants.

Mr Tien was arrested in Fuxing district, a busy area with heavy taxi presence, in the early hours of Wednesday. A pair of pruning shears were found in his person.

MAN WHO CUT SEATBELTS OF 10 TAXI CABS ALSO PLOTTED TO CUT PARKING METERS.

Self described anti-government activist Tien Nándé admitted that he plotted to destroy parking meters in Pingjing in his opposition to the government taking money from the public.

Tien, who destroyed the seatbelts of 10 taxi cabs in the capital, told police that he planned to use a circular saw to damage the parking meters in opposition to the council and the government from what he describes as fleecing the public of their money.

Mr Tien is expected to be formally charged of vandalism later today.

WUJI DRINKING CONTEST TO STAY DESPITE PROTESTS; HORSE THEMED BANNERS FLIES AROUND CHENG LUNG.

The Wuji drinking contest in the city of Cheng Lung will continue to run despite an increasing demand in calling for the event to be banned due to the deaths involved.

The event will be held at the Zhong Long tavern in the city. As with last years event, there will be a heavy presence of security due to individuals chaining themselves on the front door of the pub in order to prevent the event from commencing.

Organisers are liasing with the council to ensure the street where the Zhong Long tavern is located has been cordoned off, thereby barring vehicles from passing there.

MAN ARRESTED FOR ATTACKING FILM MAKER WHILST SHOOTING TIME LAPSE DOCUMENTARY.

A man from Pingjing has been arrested by police on suspicion of assaulting a local film maker over his objections of being filmed in public on a Friday afternoon.

Tang Pāishè allegedly started an argument with film maker Pang Défā when the latter was preparing to film at Xin Long Station. Agitated by the situation, Tang shoved Pang to the ground and asked for the footage to be deleted.

Eyewitnesses contacted the police, allowing them to track Mr Tang at is apartment in Yuan Long.

The Pingjing council and the police have warned commuters that filming of Xin Long Station by film maker Pang Défā will take place.

Scheduled to last for 5 days, the location will be used to give Pang an array of footage ranging from time lapse sequences to on the street interviews with commuters. Mr Pang confirms he is filming a documentary but did not specify the synposis.

Mr Pang’s shooting schedule was briefly interrupted when Tang Pāishè assaulted him for filming in public.

MEMBERS OF PUBLIC ENGAGE IN RELENTLESS DISRUPTION OF FILMING OF PINGJING METRO.

Several members of the public have engaged in a sustained harassment campaign film maker Pang Défā who is filming at Xin Long Station until friday.

Despite a large notice board informing the public not to overreact to the movie cameras situated at various areas of the station and urging them to continue their activities as normal, a group of youths made rude gestures to Mr Pang as he was speaking to commuters. One of them throw a half consumed boba tea at Pang, leaving him drenched in the drink. The youths were arrested by the police and their school principal has been informed.

Mr Pang jokingly said he could use the footage for an extended cut of his documentary film.

MAN ARRESTED FOR SMUGGLING LIVE LIZARDS OUT OF BAI LUNG.

A man has been arrested for attempting to smuggle a dozen endangered lizards out of the nation in hopes to get rich from their sales.

Deng Sītè, a fisherman from Port To, caught 12 Chen Tai Soon golden lizards in the mountains of the popular tourist resort. Their numbers are estimated to be around 1,000.

An anonymous tip-off informed police that Mr Deng is heading to Port To and smuggling the lizards at the early hours of Monday. Mr Deng was arrested at the city at 0200 on Monday, matching the claims of the tip-off.

A man has been arrested for throwing several iron rods at individuals on the rooftop of the Dong Ying shopping centre.

Wang Sīpǔ, a self-described anti-government conservative, gained unathorised access to the roof top of the shopping centre and threw a several scaffolding poles at shoppers. 10 people were injured by the rods rebounding and hitting them.

A stand-off was completely thwarted when security tasered Wang before he could attempt to drop more rods.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR MAN WHO USED FAKE GAMBLING CHIPS FOR POKER GAME AT PINGJING CASINO.

Pingjing police are appealing to the public to find a person who used fake casino chips at the Bīng Qiáng casino in the early hours of Thursday.

CCTV footage shows a man of average build wearing a blue suit, a khaki shirt and orange tie, gambling BL$20,000 of fake chips and spending them in a 30 minute session. The casino’s real chips have a hologram that is hard to counterfeit.

The dealer became suspicious of the chips just minutes after the swindler finished his time at the table and informed his bosses. Security failed to accost the man, who was last seen exiting the premise just 1 minute before security vigiourously searched the premise for the person.

PINGJING CASINO SETS WINNING CAP TO BL$10,000 FOLLOWING SCAM.

Bīng Qiáng has announced that gamblers are only permitted to win BL$10,000 a day at their premises as well as setting betting limits to $100 per game on all card and dice games.

The restrictions come a day after a man used BL$20,000 of fake chips during a game of poker. The individual has yet to be caught.

Dealers are briefed by management to ask gamblers to cash-in their winnings and leave the premise.

PRESIDENT GONG BLOCKS PUBLICATION OF MLAS EXPENSES.

President Gong Chūrù has blocked the publication of of expenses paid to every MLA, citing security concerns.

Rumours online claim that such expenses ranged from BL$20 to BL$100,000 with the latter likely to be alloted to members of Gong’s cabinet.

It is not the first time that Gong blocked publication of the expenses, having done so since he took office in 2022. His predecessor, Lin Zhang, also did the same.

Extra police presence will be present in Happy Hilltop Race Stables, New Xinjiang’s largest horse stables over concerns that Kashgar leader Jumyri Andropev’s plan to kidnap them before the lunar new year.

The security measures were implemented immediately after a recorded speech by the hardline leader calling for his people to disrupt the lunar new year and to acquire as many horses so he can officiate their marriages.

For the remainder of the month, Happy Hilltop has stopped admitting visitors. Those who have purchased tickets online to visit the horses have been refunded in full.

An online activist has been arrested for hacking into the government servers.

Nan Bèikǎ, a self described critic of Gong, hacked into the government’s servers allegedly in persuit of obtaining the 2025 MLA expenses list.

Mr Nan’s activities were of a heavy handed affair as he left a digital trail, allowing computer programmers to trace the source of the hacker.

Tang Huāpíng station will be closed for 24 hours following an obstruction incident on the Line 2 route.

At around 1400 yesterday afternoon, all trains from this line heading eastbound stopped at Tang Huāpíng as the terminus station whilst westbound trains did not arrive at all from Yī Lǜ station, the preceding station. Shuttle buses will be provided for affected passengers

Pingjing police are reviewing footage to find the individuals who blocked the tracks with ruck sacks containing discarded metal pieces.

MAN IN BIRTHDAY SUIT BANNED FROM HIKING TRAIL.

A hiker/influencer noted for doing hiking trails without any clothing has been barred from doing future hikes for 5 years.

Zhang Dátú, frequently posts videos of his hikes without fully showing himself without his clothing, partly to circumvent censorship rules on online video sharing platform Huáng Bào.

The High Court in Pingjing learned that Mr Zhang covertly filmed his offenses in 2024 to 2025, ultimately catching him in 20th June whilst hiking on the Elephant Trunk trail. Mr Zhang is also banned from purchasing camping equipment in the same period.
