A stunt man has been sent to Pingjing Central Infirmiary after a dangerous stunt went awry.
Performer Huang Kùqí was performing an action sequence for an unnamed action film directed by Li Xīlì. The scene involves Huang jumping 5 stories from an atrium at Elementary Shopping Mall. Mr Huang mistimed his jump and sustained injuries to his legs upon landing.
Mr Huang was taken to Pingjing Central Infirmiary and appeared to be upbeat despite the injury.

An elderly resident of a care home has been arrested for pouring a glass of water on President Gong Chūrù.
President Gong was visiting the Kǎiēn Shān care home centre, meeting elderly constituents as part of his listening tour this month.
One resident of Kǎiēn Shān was not impressed with President Gong’s appearance. 82 year old Wang Zhǔmài feigned interest in speaking to President Gong but poured a glass of water on him as he began to speak. Mr Wang was arrested by police for his act.

CUI RESIDENTS URGE MAYOR LING TO STOP ARRESTING PEOPLE OVER VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATION.
Several residents of Cui have asked Mayor Ling Da Shui to stop the long running practice of arresting and fining individuals who publicly observe western holidays including Christas, Valentine’s Day and Easter.
14th February saw the western event of Valentine’s day being observed by residents with many displaying overt signs of affection towards their partners by presenting them with pink coloured gifts in public. Mayor Ling has claimed over 100 people were arrested by the city’s by-laws forbidding all western events.
Despite a petition demanding Mayor Ling to ditch the by-laws, he has remained unrepentant in his governance of the city and intends to keep the by-laws as it is.

Elderly residents of another care home in north Pingjing are prohibited from drinking liquids whilst meeting with President Gong Chūrù.
President Gong will be visiting the Huáitè care home centre later today. It is his 2nd visit of a care home in the space of a week, following his successful visit to Kǎiēn Shān care home.
Following an incident of a resident of Kǎiēn Shān care home involving an elderly man pouring a glass of water on President Gong, Huáitè care home has imposed a ban on drinking liquids near the president during his visit. If a resident requires liquid, it will be consumed as soon as President Gong is 2 metres away from the drinker.

THOUSANDS FLOCK TO TIEN HA CENTRAL TEMPLE IN PINGJING.
Thousands of residents gathered at Tien Ha Central Temple in the capital to participate in the traditional first incense ritual, seeking blessing for the year of the horse.
The temple opened at 8.30 PM, allowing participants to offer incense sticks in designated areas. The temple will offer that window of opportunity until midnight.
Many have queued up since 3 AM just to paritcipate in the offering. A sports coach was the first in line.

A carpenter has become the new champion of the Wuji drinking contest at Zhonglong Tavern in Cheng Lung.
Tien Sānwèi, from Pingjing, only took 2 minutes to down the 3 bottles provided in the highly controversial contest.
Bagging him BL$20,000, Mr Tien also won a trip to Xinjiang and a chance to ride one of the horses in Happy Hilltop Race Stables due to the Lunar New Year being the year of the horse.

Temperance activists have protested outside the Zhonglong Tavern in Cheng Lung demanding the organisers to publish the statistics of those who took part in the annual drinking contest.
The 2026 edition saw carpenter Tien Sānwèi triumphant in the highly controversial contest.
Despite the success of the drinking contest, organisers have remained tight lipped about the number of fatalities this year. Many in the temperance movement believe a dozen may have been killed from alcohol poisoning but the organisers have yet to respond to these allegations.

Chē Bīng Temple has closed its doors earlier than usual due to the rampant littering in the temple by enthusiatic goers.
The Lunar New Year saw a surge of temple goers attending the temple where attendees seeked blessings for the year of the horse.
However, the activities reportedly become chaotic as many left cigarette butts and half burnt joss sticks on the floor. Concerned with the possiblity of a fire, the monks running the temple ordered visitors to leave the premise at 8 PM, 1 hour earlier than usual. A cleanup operation is underway and the temple will re-open “in due course”.

SERIAL SHOE THIEF GETS 6 YEARS IN PRISON.
A thief has been handed a 6 year prison sentence for stealing 20 pairs of shoes across 5 different high rise apartments in Pingjing.
Yu Désēn admitted to engaging in the stealing spree from September to November last year. He was caught by a security guard at Jade Emperor South flat who cornered him at the 10th floor.
The jury at Pingjing High Court voted unanimously to convict Mr Yu of 20 counts of theft. Mr Yu will serve his sentence on 23rd February.

A man has been arrested for deliberately placing a cleaning bottle in a New Xinjiang tram and allowing it to explode, injuring two people.
Wei Gōnglù placed a 2 litre on the tram heading to Copperhead Alley at around 10 PM. The bottle suddenly exploded, sending fragments everywhere and injured 2 individuals.
The driver notified the incident to police who then reviewed CCTV footage of the incident. Mr Wei was traced back to his apartment in the eastern district of the mainland capital.

MAN CHARGED WITH TERRORIST OFFENSIVE FOR PLANTING CLEANING BOTTLE ON NEW XINJIANG TRAM.
Wei Gōnglù, the individual who is responsible for placing a cleaning bottle in a New Xinjiang tram and allowing it to explode, has been formally charged with terrorist offenses.
Mr Wei placed a cleaning bottle on the Copperhead Alley bound tram at around 10 PM, causing it to explode and injured 2 people. Whilst refusing to state a motive for his first action, Mr Wei also admitted to place more bottles of cleaning fluid in other trams.
Mr Wei’s terrorism charges will be heard at the Pingjing High Court on 20th November this year due to the severity of the charges.

SHAN BEI RESIDENTS SUBMIT APPLICATION TO REBUILD TEMPLE.
Residents of the village of Shan Bei has submitted a building permit to to the Gong Chūrù administration to rebuild a temple that was demolished over a decade ago.
The village previous had a century old folk religion temple which was demolished back in 2010 due to safety concerns after the roof collapsed.
The government’s housing department will review the permit and make a decision by 30th June this year.

A popular restaurant in central Pingjing has been closed for the day due to customers engaging in a scuffle over who ordered the last lunar new year steamed buns.
Customers in San Shan Restaurant were hoping to order the last of the limited edition steamed buns with red bean filling, which is only available until 28th February. However, a mix up meant some customers got the buns whilst others.
The scuffle was triggered when those who did not get their buns went to the table of customers who did get their buns, grabbing the dishes and tossing them on the floor and stomping on them. Pingjing police claimed 9 people were arrested.

Police have nabbed two men for selling fuel illegally in the streets of New Jian Sha Zui.
CCTV shows Li Zǐyuàn and Liang Luòfēi tried to exchange the goods in a plot to sell them to customers for a discounted price.
Police caught the pair at the early hours of Thursday morning. Describing the sting operation as a success, the authorities seized two lorries with over 50 barrels of fuel inside. In addition to this, both men carried over BL$100,000 between them.

A man has been arrested for plotting to rob a top rated restaurant in Pingjing.
Yu Bùrè planned to rob the Báishuǐ restaurant, which specialises in sea restaurant, by breaking into the premise at night-time and steal over BL$200,000 stored in a safe there.
Pingjing police are currently interrogating Mr Yu to ascertain his relations with the premise.

Yu Bùrè, the individual who was arrested for plotting to rob a top rated restaurant in Pingjing has been formally charged.
Pingjing authorities conducted a 1 hour interrogation with Mr Yu, who confessed he worked as a waiter in the Báishuǐ restaurant before being dismissed 5 weeks prior to plotting to rob the premise. He claimed that colleagues spreaded the BL$200,000 in cash stored inside the restaurant itself.
Mr Yu’s charges will be heard at the Pingjing North District court on 22nd August.

Leaked CCTV footage of a man attemping to break open a display case containing an array of jewellery has become a viral hit online.
Yu Àichī, from Sing Ren, entered Golden Gate Palace Jewellery Store and used a toffee hammer on the thick laminated glass boxes in hopes to grab a limited edition jade bangle. Mr Yu’s efforts were thwarted when security noticed his actions almost immediately, leading to his arrest.
The leaked video showing Mr Yu striking the display box thrice was viewed 20 million times online.

MENTAL PATIENT RETURNED TO JIANG CENTRAL CLINC.
A patient who absconded from the mental hospital Jiang Central Clinic in Pingjing has been re-admitted there.
Weng Zhuǎzǐ, from Jinmen, fled the hospital by climbing over a 6ft wall during a sanctioned time break outside during a Sunday afternoon.
Mr Weng, who is diagnosed schizophrenic, was found in his cousin’s house only 5 miles from the hospital with orderlies reporting stiff resistance from him as they escorted him into the ambulance.
