12 water silos in the suburban district of Huang Jin, 15 miles north of central Pingjing are getting beefed up security due to recent vandalism on the containers.
Many of them have been subject to graffiti tags, physically damaged with sharp blades and even set on fire. CCTV cameras will also be installed.
To date, 20 people have been arrested in the past month related to vandalising the Huang Jin water silos.

A man has been arrested for planting sewing needles in the escalator of Fuxing Station in Pingjing.
Ming Jíyà planted the needles in the escalator handrails during quieter hours of 10 pm on Wednesday.
One person reported to authorities that he sustained an injury to his hand after holding onto the handrail.

PINGJING POLICE DEFENDS ACTIVE CONFISCATION OF BIKES RIDDEN BY YOUTHS.
Pingjing police force have defended their decision to randomly confiscate bikes ridden by under 18’s in the past week.
Many parts of the city have experienced cases of anti-social behaviour by youths on bikes throwing wet tissues at random bystanders. In response, the police force were given the authority to order anyone under 18 to dismount from their bike and to hand over their bike to the requesting officer.
To date, the authorities have taken over 100 bikes. The parents of those who owned the confiscated bikes will be allowed to reclaim it.

DONG MEN MLA DEMANDS REGISTRATION PLATES ON ALL BIKES.
Dong Men MLA Ai Sha has called for his fellow colleagues to support legislation that formally requires all bicycles to have registration plates on them.
The outspoken politician said the legislation would make it difficult for youths to commit anti-social crimes as the reg plates will be traced back to the owner. This mandatory reg plate proposal comes in the wake of a series of youths who threw wet tissues at random bystanders and fleeing the scene on bikes.
Mr Ai said one incident of such behaviour is too much and suggested a BL$1,000 fine for future incidents and a possible 2 year ban for non-compliant bike users.

Police have arrested 25 people for carrying various bladed weapons in Sēnlínmén Station in Pingjing.
The arrested made were conducted in a 10 hour period. Over 70 bladed weapons were confiscated by the authorities.

Police have arrested a Kashgar man for attempting to blow up a council building in Turkmenbari.
Leopold Romanoff had planned to detonate a 2.5 kg bundle of dynamite in the main lobby area of the Turkmenbari Council Hall. Thanks to a vigilant member of the public, Romanoff’s attempts were thwarted and was tackled by security.
Security found a bundle of 10 sticks of dynamite bundled together, each weighing 250 grams, with a 1 metre fuse attached to it. A box of matches and a linoleum knife were found in his person.

Police have reassured patrons in the Golden Tiger Restaurant in New Xinjiang that a cassette gas stove has not been rigged with explosives when it blew up and that it was attributed to a faulty gas cannister.
At around 1500 hours on a Wednesday, the portable gas cooker blew-up causing a gigantic mess. None of the patrons using that table were present with no further reported injuries.
Police have revealed the CCTV footage and confirmed that despite social reports, there was no Kashgar involvement in the explosion.

Shi Jiéfēi was caught selling several tubes of Golden Claw glue, a recently banned brand due to an ingredient containing a carcinogenic.
Shi attempted to flee from Hépíng Lóng Street, where he was selling the glue, only to be stopped at Nùjiàn Street.

A man has been arrested for urinating near a reservoir in south east area in the country.
Wu Shuǎnglǎng was caught urinating in Dà Xiàng reservoir during a Sunday afternoon.

MLAs are going to vote for a bill that enforces mandatory registration plates on all bicycles will voted upon this afternoon.
Proposed by Dong Men MLA Ai Sha, the Bicycle Registration Act mandates all cyclists to have registration plates on their bicycles. If successfully enacted, cyclists will have 2 years to comply with the law. Failure to install a registration plates is punishable by 2 year ban and/or a BL$1,000 fine.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of vandalising the interior of a lift.
On Wednesday afternoon, Pang Nuòtè entered the Lift number 7 in the Financial Centre Building in Pingjing and used a screwdriver to scratch the interior with. CCTV footage shows him circling around the cabin 5 times when it stopped on the 60th floor. No one else is inside the cabin when he allegedly vandalised it.
No motive is made for his actions.

FINANCIAL CENTRE BUILDING TO RESTRICT LIFT USE.
The Bank of Bai Lung will impose restrictions for visitors entering the Financial Centre Building, the current HQ of the national bank.
Starting from 10th August, the bank will install further metal detectors in the lobby area of the building as well as increasing the number of lift attendants on the 100 storey building, ensuring 1 attendant per floor.

Port Sung police have conducted another successful drugs bust , this time involving a shipment of various drugs hidden inside peppers at Port Sung’s central harbour.
Many of the drugs, including ketamine, tramadol and valium, were stored inside pouches and stuffed in sweet peppers. They were stored in a crate on class II freighter

The Lower House has voted down plans to make future buildings friendlier to elderly visitors or residents.
Introduced by Furong MLA Tang Yìnhuā, the 2026 revision of the Building Ordinance Act was voted down 300-199.
