Cliffnotes on The Transition To The Empire

Would anyone mind providing links on the histories.

Much thanks.

It wasn’t so much “transition” as “invasion”, and I’m not using that word lightly.

First, a brief primer.

As you may know there are groups of players who engage in a practice known as “region-crashing” in which they all move into a region and endorse one of their own as delegate. Sometimes this invader delegate would then proceed to kick out all the existing “native” members, to solidify their hold or just to be plain mean.

The game admins have tried to restrict this practice through the introduction of the influence system and by giving founders more power. For most user-created regions this essentially makes them now invader-proof. But not so for the “feeder” Pacific regions, into which all newly created nations are put. By their nature, they don’t have founders and as the biggest and hence most powerful regions in the game, they are juicy and coveted fruits for those who play the invader game.

Enter “The Empire”, who from all accounts are basically one of these invader groups; they would have to have been quite well organised. The nation accounts many of them are using are recently created; you can tell from the relatively small populations.

On August 16, 2008 (I may be wrong on the exact date), they invaded, installing Lady Phedre as delegate, deposing Gnidrah. They then came here to post inflammatory and insulting messages demanding we “submit” to them and be “cleansed”.

the submission /clensing stuff is what really pissed us off too.

I was part of the initial defender force that were not succesful in preventing Lady Phedre from taking over, but for my efforts, Loop had finally unbanned me from this forum, after three years, and the others had accepted me, more or less.

Blood run s thicker than water when it comes to helping out your fellow brothers in need

Since then, the Empire signed a treaty with Gatesville, and the treaty was listed as a alliance treaty with TEP and Gatesville, as if The Empire was the legitimate government.

One who ventured onto their forum showed that it was nothing more than blind compliance to them and essentially worship for Lady Phedre.

Also, when defenders were trying to get info on who they were, Biyah was at the time on the defender side. When I registered there to get info, some thing was not clear, that gave me some suspicions. Lady Phedre’s time zone was listed in Hawaii, and Neenee’s e-mail address was listed as the root forum e-mail. I had approached this to Darth Zorn, Neenee’s RL husband, and told him what I found out. Being careful as to not offend DZ as he’s been known to get angry at the most BS of times (ask FPS, he yelled at him even :P), I basically was saying it could somehow be speculation or something. Zorn later told me the e-mail was changed to Rahl’s e-mail from Neenee’s as she only had that forum from something old from a while back.

However, little did I know that my IP would then be used for harvesting and an attempt to throw defenders off. Biyah then stated he had IP evidence claiming I was Lady Anastasia, using my work IP that I had logged in from to claim I was both. It was a shared work IP so I tried to explain to others how i’m not the only one who used that work computer. Biyah, showing his usual hatred of me, would have none of it and did what he could to restrict me from joint defender communication, mainly on IRC. I was in a fruitless search to try and clear my name, trying to see who else would use that work comp that could also possibly play NS, and I did not plan to go far on it, as I later concluded that it would also make me look like an embarrasment.

Later on it was finally emerging that Biyah was Lord Rahl, which basically shot his credibility on his accusations of me, and essentially vindicated me of that. He continued to arrogantly claim that The Empire would win and the opponents would lose. Soon after, the Lady Anastasia he accused me of turned out to be Dalimbar aka Chodean Kal. Then Lady Phedre announced herself as Minineenee aka Neenee. When she announced why she did it, she said (usual BS) that it was to help bring activity to TEP, and partly out of personal pride. Invading TEP was discussed even as early as the Neutral Territory Conference at the beginning of 2008, where essentially the discussion revolved around bringing more activity somehow to all the feeders, even if it involved invading them. Discussion about the user created regions seemed to be cast aside and ignored. Yea, people still have feeder-centric ideologies <_<.

People were upset with Darth Zorn when it was revealed that Neenee = Phedre, because he apparently knew “OOCly” who it was but “ICly” never suspected a thing. Nonetheless, some defenders currently don’t really consider him credible anymore either. I use OOCly and ICly in quotes because the only ICly part of NS i recognise is where it involves RPing with your nation, or in a character-based RP in your region. Anything dealing with regional government, etc. is OOC as far as I am concerned.

Then came sometime recently the failed attempt to pass another alliance treaty, this time with TEP and TWP.

More info can be found here about the TEP/TWP treaty:

That’s my perspective to be added to it. Given how some still have a hatred / personal bias of me despite not know me well, I would not be surprised if people ripped it apart what I said, but meh :ph43r:
