I am quite surprised I was nominated, and am grateful to Serge for doing so. However, having joined the region less than a month ago and believing there is someone with far more experience, familiarity, and suitability for this position, I feel it would be more appropriate to support their candidacy rather than my own. I decline my nomination. ---
