[li]The vote on whether to send foreign officials and personnel and cleanup funding to help clean the radioactive mess in Xagrurg has officially taken place in the Hall, with a final vote of 40-7 in favor of sending personnel, but with the sending of funds failing by a vote of 30-17. “We feel that sending funds, although a good idea, may result in the country we send the funds to using that money for other, less savory endeavors. As such, only personnel that we can direct will be sent,” said Hall speaker Vera Avorov.

[li]It has been almost two weeks since Queen Xenia of Imperial Fandom requested help from the PKFU in her attempts to keep the citizens of Imperial Fandom safe from the on-going civil war. The participants in the war have signed a ceasefire, but fighting continues in small pockets away from areas where the ceasefire is enforced. The PKFU efforts to move citizens to safe zones has been very effective, with 20% of all Fandomians having been relocated to their nearest zone since the program was implemented. This number is set to increase at a steady and optimistic pace, with a projected 60% being relocated by next spring. Although the safe zones are not all fully constructed, the temporary housing in them have been fully built and ready for occupants to inhabit them. The more important safe zones also have occupations ready for refugees.

[li]The northern provinces of The Confederation of Kostromastan have officially surrendered, marking the end in Kostromastan’s participation in the Auroran-Pacific War. Kostromastan’s surrender comes after a series of airstrikes done by Asendavian and Kuthern forces, attacking Nal’Chik, Volgoda, and the current capital Novgorod, primarily focusing on Kostrom military outposts and their airstrips. Kostromastan first declared war on the SCE in mid-july, resulting in Asendavia and Kuthernburg to declare war on Kostromastan. The only military action Kostromastan took was the failed invasion of Nocturne, which resulted in the airstrikes that occurred today.

[li]Researchers in Tarov’s southern district have discovered a biological catalyst that makes stem cells to reproduce at a much faster rate, a profound discovery that will lead to Tivot’s cultured meat and dairy facilities to faster produce their products.

[li]A total of 250 workers have been assigned to aid in the cleanup efforts in South-Central Aurora, and will collaborate with their counterparts in other countries to minimize damages caused by the meltdown. 150 of those workers will be sent to the power plant itself, and will use and wear proper equipment for cleanup.

[li]A hurricane warning has been announced for the nations of northern Aurora in light of a potential category 5 hurricane headed through the Caven Sea. The Tivotian and Baykalian governments are reacting accordingly, and have begun the process of evacuating to safer areas and preparing people who cannot or will not leave. Tivotians will either evacuate to designated high-rises that have proven to be reliable during hurricane season due to the small size of the nation, or temporarily leave the nation southwards in Caltharus. Baykalians north of the Kalivian mountains will either have to evacuate south to the outskirts of Irkutsk, or hunker down in their homes. For those staying, sandbags will be deployed around private properties, and will be built to the height of predicted flood levels. Pamphlets on how to properly set up the sandbags will be given out to inhabitants of the lower elevation regions of Chita and its surrounding areas.

BREAKING:

[ul]
[li]Weeks after Hurricane Mable barreled through the Caven Sea, Baykalians and Tivotians are picking up the pieces. Hit the hardest were the Baykalian lowlands near the coast, the hurricane virtually destroying everything in the area, save the main infrastructure and a few sturdy houses. TBN correspondent Yuri Orovich went to the lowlands, and described the destruction of the area as something he “had never seen before. Everything was utterly destroyed.” Lady Posol made an announcement earlier this week, stating “In order to restore our beautiful nation back to its former self, my husband and I will donate 11 Billion kiribs towards the effort. Citizens, don’t see this as a disaster, see this as an opportunity to start anew! We can build our cities in Baykalian fashion, rather than the old Kostuv buildings. We will recover from this and come out stronger than ever.” Baykalians responded to this announcement with cheers in many public squares across Baykalia.

As for Tivot, relatively minimal damage was inflicted on the small nation, with many buildings and companies beginning the rebuilding process.

[li]A group of insurgents known as Bal Al’Shek headquartered in their self-declared West Atiland, have been at odds with the Royal Republic for years. Tensions in the region, however, recently grew as the country Nacata intercepted one of the West Atiland drones, West Atiland’s dictator calling the act a declaration of war. The so-called nation has been known to accuse and threaten its neighbors for years now, this being only the most recent example.

[li]In light of the recent war that has ravaged our continent for months, the major powers of Aurora, including nations such as The Staynish-Caltharus Empire, Axdel, and Tuvaltastan, yet excluding nations such as Kostromastan, Emberwood Coast, and Dragonia, have begun the process of leaving the Auroran Continental Assembly in favor of a newly-developed replacement, known as the Auroran Union. This has sparked major protests across the nations leaving and the ones staying, many claiming the split is a power grab, while others see the shift as our continent losing its identity as one continent. The largest protest is taking place where the talks themselves are occurring: Sani Bursil. Although there have been a few attempts to instigate chaos in the city, the law enforcement has kept the tensions mostly under control, save a few inevitable skirmishes. Alyona Petrovavich has scheduled a press conference to address many concerns over the decision to leave the ACA.

[li]The leader of Fortuna Tristan Lytle recently sparked controversy in the Spes region, calling for a unification of Eridani Theta and Fortuna into one nation. Eridani Theta in response will hold a referendum in the coming weeks, with the vulpine-dominated north vehemently opposing such a unity, recalling the extreme abuse that Fortunan vulpines had to endure during the so-called Purification Period. The human-majority southern half of the nation has proven through polls it is more than willing to join Fortunans as one nation. This conflict of interest has resulted in a few northern towns to completely ban humans from entering their town. Tensions have always been relatively high, but it seems that those tensions are reaching heights not seen since the 1970’s.

[li]Tunnels R Us has announced plans to begin work on a tunnel from Port Barnaul directly to the Crescent Isles in an effort to connect the outlying archipelago to mainland Tuvaltastan. Many have criticized this plan, pointing to the tunneling scare of last year, when the islands were first acquired by Tuvaltastan and Dragonia. “We will take the utmost precautions when building this tunnel. Our personnel working on this project are our most experienced, and know the ins and outs of this business; trust me when I say they will do this job right the first time.” That was Tunnels R Us CEO Avros Azarov talking at a press conference yesterday when the plan was announced.

[li]The Everyday Hero of the Week is Ivan Yorikov, who quit his job and used up his entire life’s savings towards helping abused and neglected children from around Aurora. His home, now known as the Yorikov Foster Care Center, has to date helped over 2500 kids find a place to call home. “The tedium of my old job just didn’t make me feel accomplished at the end of every day. I felt stuck in a cycle, and all I wanted to do was help people. So I quit my job and started with helping those who need it most: our future.” Yorikov has began a funding campaign to continue his work, and expand his efforts towards helping other needy groups.

[li]Officials of Port Barnaul have announced their intent to create a self-sustaining city on the outskirts of Port Barnaul, called RASMAR City. It will incorporate the use of solar panels, aquaponic water systems, driverless electric vehicles, and other methods of reducing the city’s energy usage. The officials claimed that this new megaproject will become a center for science and education in Aurora, but skeptics doubt the ambitious project will fully come to fruition. RASMAR City’s Phase One completion date has been set at 2022.

[li]The cities of Shagonar and Omsk have been slowly adapting to the radiation emanating from the nuclear plant in Nuremkastel, with many clothing outlets selling anti-radiation clothing, including undergarments and hats made with materials found to be effective in blocking radiation. “It sucks that we have to wear these ugly clothes, but it’s better than up and moving out of the city,” said one citizen, wearing a silvery-looking shirt and hat. The increased radiation, although not lethal, has so far been shown to increase one’s chances of getting cancer or contracting a disease.

[li]On November 21st, Emberwood Coast’s President Nimona Poole announced her intent to host a series of talks taking place in the Emberitian capital of Aura. Now, a week after the first announcement, and after a Non-Proliferation Summit was held, the Counterterrorism Summit will be held this afternoon, which will surely address the presence of Al-Jaheed in Aurora. Tomorrow morning the USV Belladonna is also scheduled to launch into space in Aura, which should be quite a spectacle to see. Tuvaltastan’s own Alyona Petrovavich and Lara Tarasovna are participating in this week of talks, and have already expressed their hopes that these talks will reunify the continent.

[li]The Emperor of The Oan Isles has recently announced his engagement to current director of Oanaid Aroha Putea. Mostly kept secret, their romantic relationship slowly blossomed over the years only until last month. The wedding will take place in December 1st, and Tuvaltastan’s High-Minister Mark Lirakov will be attending. This union, although very much political, is also seen by most as a positive event to forget the events of this past year. “It truly is a beautiful thing to see two people who love each other solidify their affection with a wedding. It will surely be an extravagant ceremony, and I’ll have to work extra hard to get them a gift worthy of their love,” said Lirakov in an interview yesterday.

[li]Baykalia’s leader Lady Posol in a statement today condemned the Aura talks and summits, calling them, “a threat to national sovereignty. A power grab by the elites in Aurora to create a supranational entity led by them. We shall never bow to their will, and will grow on our own. May Baykalians prosper!” Wife of Posol Industries CEO Remis Posol, the family has solidified their family’s leadership in Baykalia, and have used a small chunk of Posol Industries’ revenue to fund projects within Baykalia. The hermit nation is still recovering from Hurricane Mabel, with large swaths of Chita still under reparations.

[li]Primrose Inc. has announced its release date for its new phone, the PrimPhone 9. The phone will first be released in Fort Staynes at 2pm on New Year’s Day next year, with a worldwide release an hour later. Many analysts have called this phone to be the most innovative phone released by Primrose in years, and the phone is expected to break sales records. One reviewer called the phone “a technological genius, being almost incomparable to its predecessor.” There’s no doubt that the PrimPhone always draws a crowd, and is a truly pretty device.

[li]The Chianski situation has reached its peak, with militaries across the world being sent in and around the archipelago nation. Adumara, who blockaded the small nation over claims that it funded the terrorist organization Al-Jaheed, led to members of the Fire Pact Alliance, Chianski being a member itself, flocking to Chianski in response to the blockade, along with FPA members invading Adumara. Major nations of the world, including the SCE and the SHACOG have all responded to the FPA’s invasion of Adumara with both condemnations and military action, resulting in some FPA members to withdraw their membership from the alliance.

[li]President of the SHACOG has been hospitalized after suffering from a severe stroke. Tuvalt High-Minister Mark Lirakov sent his condolences to the President’s family, hoping for his quick recovery. At 77 years of age, Mr. Hunter has been the leader of South Hills since 2013, and is currently serving his second term as President. We here at TBN wish him a steep path to recovery.

[li]Tunnels R Us, the company currently tunneling deep below the Sea of Tranquility to get to the Crescent Isles, has run into a bit of problems approximately halfway through their progress. A previously-unknown pocket of dense rock was detected almost 30 yards away from the subterrene’s drill. “If we didn’t detect this dense rock, our drill would have most likely burned out. Billions of Kiribs wasted. Thankfully someone in the radar room caught it just in time,” says one of the workers directly from the tunnel on a phone interview done by the podcast show TuvaNow. We contacted Tunnels R Us leadership, and we have yet to get a response.

[li]The Everyday Hero of the Week is Mikhail Wilikov, a Tuvalt volunteer who has dedicated himself towards the Fandomian refugee crisis. Over 6 million Fandomians have been displaced by the civil war tearing our southern neighbor asunder, and Wilikov has, along with many other Tuvalts, volunteered to work with the PKFU to effectively relocate the refugees. Refuse camps along the Tuvalt-Fandom border have seen the largest populations, holding approximately 4.7 million collectively. “I just hate seeing people suffer. Those of us who are better off should spend more time thinking about those less fortunate than themselves.” That was Wilikov explaining why he decided to volunteer in our interview of him this morning.

[li]Months have passed since the fall of the Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria. Four nations have replaced it, one of which being Kothalria, a small nation dominated by steppes and wildlife. A once-neglected corner of Ethalria, Kothalria now has complete sovereignty over its own territory, and has already implemented numerous policies directed towards preserving its natural beauty. One such policy, known as the Natural Conservation Act, strives to establishing a goal of “50% conservation by 2020,” a goal whose deadline is approaching fast. (OOC: I need to further create Kothalrian culture and stuff, so hopefully this is enough RP until I come up with more things)

[li]The civil war that has been ripping The Imperial Coalition of Confederated Fandoms asunder has been under a strongly-enforced ceasefire, a rare chance for the nation to take a sigh of relief. Queen Xenia and her two siblings, who all claim to be the true heir to King Xavier’s throne, have agreed to conduct talks in the Tuvalt capital Novosibirsk to discuss potential solutions to the civil war. Queen Xenia has fervently and desperately asked for her brother and sister to halt the fighting for three years now, neither of which had done so. Prince Xerxes, who has control of the eastern coast of the ICCF has previously stated his intent to marry into another royal family to further justify and confirm his claim to the throne. Queen Xenia and her wife have three adopted children, this lack of blood relation being the primary reason for the dispute.

[li]Baykalia’s leader Lady Posol, in an announcement last weekend, commended Fortuna’s leader Tristan Lytle for his “determination to reunify his fractured nation in a peaceful manner! Glory to the High Commander!” This unusual show of allegiance to a foreign leader has been under close analysis since the announcement, and few can speculate what this allegiance means. “It could well result in Baykalia becoming a Fortunan puppet state, or it could be something much more sinister. An announcement so public as this is unheard of.” That was political analyst Yirilov Yszemkovich, a man who has met with Lady Posol a number of times. The same announcement included the usual calls to unite under Posol leadership, and other propaganda known to pepper her speeches.

[li]Researchers in Tula have developed a skin-tight suit that uses a system known as haptic feedback, which simulates different physical feelings like softness, sharpness, wetness, and many others, tricking our sense of touch. The haptic feedback system has been used in medical therapy to help those with diseases affecting their sense of touch, and many who have become paralyzed through accidents. The Tula researchers developed the suit for a completely different reason however: gaming. Eventually, the researchers hope that this suit may become widespread in use. “We personally believe that this suit could enhance our gaming experience; just imagine diving into a lake in a video game, and actually feeling like your wet when you emerge out of the digital water!”

[li]Since the Auroran-Pacific War that broke the continent apart, Kostromastan has been split in half, ideologically speaking. Those that lead and live in the southern half, advocating for the values and beliefs of democracy and liberty, have spun close ties to its southern neighbor Tuvaltastan, while the northern half, its leaders and inhabitants touting the principles of socialism, has drifted further away from most Auroran nations. The heads of the northern provinces have for months called for a separation from the Kostrom Confederation, and it seems a breaking point is nigh. Current Council leader Mila Rostilov, who only recently was appointed Council head, has announced her intent to hold a referendum on whether the two halves of Kostromastan should split on March 24.

[li]The nation of Furnifold has seen a drastic increase in population, a direct result of the Fandomian refugee crisis. One of the primary overseas nations the PKFU has designated for Fandomian relocation, a whopping 200,000 or so refugees have entered the nation of 16 million, most arriving in the city of Boonefield. Many have compared the city to the now-dismantled Vorkovich Walled City, a hyper-dense collection of buildings that was a humanitarian disaster, a result of a regulatory limbo in which the area became a lawless block of buildings within the metropolis of Tarov, Tivot. Although nowhere near as dense as Vorkovich Walled City, Boonefield has seen a concerning increase in population.

[li]The Yasterian dictatorship of Fortuna has recently celebrated its 19-year anniversary since the reunification of the Fortunan archipelago, executed by its current leader Tristan Lytle. Eridani Theta, which recently decided through referendum to join the nation, also celebrated with its own festivities. It is believed that Baykalian dictator Lady Posol will be attending this year’s Unification Day, Posol, her husband, and her three eldest being Fortunans themselves.

[li]Tunnels R Us have announced on their MyLyfe page that they have finally passed through the unusually dense rock that they have been attempting to drill through for the past few months. In an effort to better connect the eastern Tuvalt islands, Tunnels R Us announced back in November of last year that they would begin drilling a tunnel to connect Port Barnaul to the Crescent Isles. “Progress has been slow getting through this ‘rock pocket’ as I like to call it, but we’ve made it past the halfway mark! We are officially 57% completed with this tunnel, and it can be expected to be completed by the end of this year!” That was Tunnels R Us CEO Avros Azarov during a quick press conference organized in his office this morning.

[li]The ICCF Summit on the ongoing civil war has finally begun after a series of threats to cancel it from all three sides. Queen Xenia, the current recognized leader of the impoverished nation, has stated her goal for this summit is to “finally have a chance at making peace, and maybe bring an end to this horrendous conflict. Too many have died for the sake of a simple argument between my siblings, and I can no longer let that slide. I am fully determined to bring peace to the ICCF.” Her brother, Prince Xerxes, has also stated that he wishes to “open the nation to new opportunities, but I can only get what I want done if I’m the leader.” Prince Xerxes has also been looking for a potential suitor in other royal families, and asked us (OOC: payed them) to inform any royals watching that he is “single and ready to mingle,” as he put it.

[li]Up north, The Republic of Tivot has begun investigations into what is believed to be a terrorist attack on a freight ship. The Tivotian government suspect that the attack was organized and implemented by the radical anti-business group Nullares. The freight ship, which had left the Northern Tarov Port hours before the incident, was originally headed for the Vekaiyun Union in northeastern Yasteria, and would have made its way across the ocean over to Atlantia. Ship records reveal that a submersible had been spotted minutes before an explosion occurred, apparently caused by a torpedo. Multiple distress signals were sent out into the general vicinity, and a number of nearby ships made their way to the vessel. Sadly, 25 of the ship’s crew had perished from the incident, with another 4 people unaccounted for. The rest of the crew were successfully rescued, and were brought back to Tarov.

[li]The Referendum on the Status of the Kostrom Confederation has finally come to a close, after repeated delays from an initial March 24 voting day. A non-binding referendum, this poll has been under serious scrutiny from many of the provinces’ leaders, claiming it is an attempt to divide the nation politically, many conspiracy theorists blaming the Baykalian corporation Posol Industries. The results, after hours of counting and recounting, have finally been published, with 52.1% in favor of a split-up, and 46.4% opposed, with a very obvious division between North and South.

[li]The heads of the province of Tulava, home to the research megafacility and vertical city Tula, have begun talks on the current political status of the state. Currently under a loose authority currently headquartered in Nolov, Tulava’s connection with its fellow provinces has slowly been dwindling economically and socially, with many of its imports coming directly from its southern neighbor Tuvaltastan. Many of the scientists that utilize the megafacility are also predominantly Tuvalt. This has led to many of Tula’s citizens to question its being a member of the young confederation. We here at TBN will keep you updated on the content of the talks.

The unfortunate incident occurred at the Seveni International Airport, with Mr Toangakau apparently being mistaken for a wanted criminal at large, Ajenadro Haker. According to the official police report, the ambassador and the criminal had arrived at the airport at a similar time, and due to vague and sketchy descriptions of Haker, the authorities approached Mr. Toangakau, believing it was their target. Apparently afraid of the situation, the Oan ambassador fled the area, and was struck down by the police. [li]After eight months of digging, boring company Tunnels R Us has announced it has reached the two-thirds mark, achieving a total distance of 635km. When completed, the tunnel will be just shy of an astounding 950km in distance. “Once the tunnel itself is completed ideally before the year is out, Phase Two of the project will begin.”

That was CEO Avros Azarov mentioning the tunnel’s second phase in which the tunnel will be paved with asphalt, further safety features will be added, as well as numerous ‘panic rooms’ in the case of an unlikely breach in the tunnels walls, among other things. The tunnel is an attempt at better connecting the islands of Tuvaltastan to the mainland. It is the hope that this tunnel will also reduce the price of goods for the islands as well.

This particular agreement will likely benefit Xagrurg more so than Tivot, however, niche gun markets within the pseudo city-state will undoubtedly grow rapidly from this deal. Numerous other markets in Xagrurg will have a similar level of growth, ranging from foodstuffs to electronics to finance.

[li]Marineworld and Tivotian officials have agreed to allow the media corporation to construct an amusement park in Tarov, on top of the Tarov Multimedia Building, located in the eastern part of the city, close to the Tyrlikov Mountains. • Tunnels R Us Milestone: Another announcement from Tunnels R Us CEO Avros Azerov via CafeNet has confirmed that, after month-long delays due to softer-than-expected soil, the tunnel connecting the Crescent Isles to the Tuvaltastan mainland is officially finished with Phase One. Phase Two, set to begin at the start of the new year, will consist of installing lighting, electronic sensors detecting anything from urthquakes and smoke to floods and structural integrity issues, as well as the tunneling of a second service tunnel. In addition, a series of “panic rooms” will be placed at regular intervals throughout the tunnel, which will each have enough non-perishable food and water to last a year, and will also have escape pods, which are designed to rapidly float up to the surface of the Sea of Tranquilty. “Every precaution must be taken into account when building a tunnel of this size and scale; we can’t have another 01-01-16 incident on our hands.”

  • Tivot Government Scandal: Tivotian Chief Executive Statesman Boris Loctov has been accused by former Foreign Secretary Ella Harikov of sexual harassment, claiming the politician groped her a number of times. Mr. Loctov has denied these allegations, and a trial is set to begin on the 30th of November.

  • Nilovia Tensions on the Rise: Nilovia, under a ceasefire since the PKFU declared one, has seen political tensions reach a near-boiling point, with the opposing factions accusing the others of various acts of war.

  • Nocturne Independence? Alwin Jordanes, leader of the Nocturnian Independence Party, has recently given a two-hour speech at his party headquarters, many experts believing it to be reiterating and inspiring the party’s members. We approached geopolitical expert Josef Vderivol about the hypothetical, asking what an independent Nocturne would look like. “Well, considering its location and population, Nocturne has always been at the peripheral of the UK. Right wing nationalist ideologies are more widespread in peripheral regions of a nation, no doubt. Now as to the question as to what a nation of Nocturne would look like, I can only speculate. I would imagine it would align itself to its stronger, non-Morstaybishlian neighbors like the Ethaln nations, and, well at least until the summit flop, Kostromastan as well however I doubt Nocturne would gravitate to such a weak region, and as such I would argue that Nocturne would gravitate to the Ethalns, maybe even signing trade deals and the like.”

  • Kostromastan In Tatters: As 2019 is slowly coming to an end, the failed state of Kostromastan has been in chaos, triggered by the 2018 summit that showed the Kostrom public just how indecisive their elected officials had become. As a result, the former provinces of Tula, Astrakhan, and Nolova all declared their intent to leave the confederation shortly after the flop of a summit. Tula and Astrakhan have in recent months teamed up with neighbor to the south Tuvaltastan to buffer the political impact of independence, and it is expected that the two new nations will eventually become a part of the south Salovian nation.

  • New Dam in Xiopothos: Construction of a new dam along the Anxion River has been approved by current Xiopothan Prime Minister Genevive Allen, after passing through Parliament in late September. The new dam will create a new reservoir once completed, already given the name Lake Columbia. It is expected to be a long-running project, projected for completion in 2025.

  • Hoopland Terror Attack: On October 25th, a truck shot into a crowd of military members and ramming into a nearby gate at the Packilvanian side of the Ikram border, injuring approximately 70 individuals, with 2 confirmed deaths consisting of military personnel. A candlelight vigil was held for the victims, and investigations are ongoing as to who or what orchestrated this heinous act. Various sources have pointed to the long-standing terrorist group South Liberation Army, or SLA for short, as the culprit in the attack, but no terror groups have publicly come forward claiming the attack.

  • West Borea Situation: After a quick and brutal invasion, Sinter Tass’s Kyrloth has invaded and annexed neighboring kingdom Izria, controversially acquiring along with it a series of oil operations owned by Morst company Embask PLC. The UK’s Prime Minister Barvata responded initially by reaching out to the Izrian King Tegura IV to seek answers, but sadly he would kill himself shortly after initially being contacted by Barvata. Turning to Mr. Tass, Mr. Barvata requested a conference with the Kyrlot leader. Unbeknownst to Mr. Barvata at the time, Mr. Tass had sent a naval fleet to the oil operations, and upon confrontation the Operations Manager refused to wrest control of the oil facilities. Reacting to the standoff, UK officials, including Mr. Barvata and CEO of Embask Nigel Ferantino, have set out to Norgsveldet to meet with other North Concordian nations like Nacata, Eyjaria, and host nation Norgsveldet to discuss a solution to the issue. The UK’s parliament has also ruled that, should Kyrloth not comply with whatever terms are agreed upon at this conference, consequences will ensue.

  • Leaderless Tissandra: In a shocking turn of events, after an indecisive Tissandran parliament failed to select a Prime Minister, the King himself has been the subject of debilitating injuries and cannot serve due to an explosion at the royal palace. Investigations ongoing, it is uncertain who orchestrated the attack at this time. This leaves the nation in a crisis unlike any seen in recent memory, with no leader, elected or not, to chart the nation’s course. We will be looking closely at how events play out in Tissandra, and who will step up to fill the leadership void.

We have received intel from a reliable military source that a skirmish between Tuvaltastan and the PDR Thalria has just recently occurred yesterday, with an approximate death toll of between 18 and 22 deaths, depending on the source. According to our source, an unnamed Tuvalt soldier stationed at Fort Lerishvili unintentionally crossed the Tuvalt-Thalrian border, and was seen by Thalrian soldiers who subsequently took the act as a sign of aggression. The man was taken into custody, and is believed to have been interrogated and subsequently killed. The Thalrian soldiers brought the body back to Fort Lerishvili, where they are said to have threatened those within the Fort. One Tuvalt soldier mistakenly identified a baton as a firearm, and shot a number of the Thalrian soldiers, which sparked the skirmish. Current numbers put the death toll on the Tuvalt side at 13, and 7 on the Thalrian side of casualties. An unknown number were injured, but sources say that number is at approximately three on the Tuvalt side and four on the Thalrian side.

Tuvalt Chancellor Petrovavich has offered a statement on this tense moment in a series of already tense events over the past couple years: “Salovians and Ethalrians have experienced untold suffering throughout our histories; I am anguished to say that today, yet another series of sons and daughters of Aurora have given their lives. Bloodshed and aggression may be in our past, and it certainly defines our current landscape today, but I believe it does not have to be in our future. I intend on coordinating with my Thalrian counterpart, to the best of my ability, to lessen tensions between our two nations, and soften the unspoken aggression between our two worlds. I offer my open hand in cooperation to Madam Premier Sarinn, and hope that we can move past this and strengthen ties, for the sake of ourselves and those that come after us.”

We will post updates as this story unfolds…

Posol Industries: The Korobi Scandal

(OOC: DM me if you want to add anyone or anything to the list, wanna make this thing spicy as fork)
In the most intense and expensive investigation of this decade (and perhaps this century), and thanks to the MBE’s Operation Wraith and the efforts of investigative journalists Robert Edwards and Samminel Johannes, and after scouring the thousands of documents uncovered by them, we here at EANN have the solemn honor to present to you a comprehensive dive into the elusive Lady Posol, her backstory with exclusive new information on her life, and her abhorrent actions through Posol Industries, as well as a damning list of accomplices to the recently-uncovered slave ring. Once the leader of the singular fascist stronghold on Aurora, and now under many-a-countries’ most wanted listings, Lady Posol is believed to have been born in June of 1970 during a tumultuous period in Fortunan history commonly known as the Toscanan-Emilian War. It is thought that she entered Aurora at a young age in 1974 as a refugee, as that year one of the few documented cases of Fortunan immigration into Aurora took place, with an approximate 200 Fortunans arriving in the then-Salovian city of Chita. Her early life in Aurora is all but erased from documented records, though she has previously mentioned in a rare interview that she came from a “quite well-off family,” recalling “long hours spent with my dear cousins,” alluding to a life afforded only to those of Fortunan nobility.

The first appearance of the infamous “Lady Posol” turns up with her very own marriage record in 1996, when she married now-deceased Lord Remis Posol, who at the time was Vice President of Posol Industries, his father being CEO at the time. Not too soon after her marriage, her foray into politics began as an intern to Yurivi Gerinedze, who was Chita’s Zedakhli Representative to Salovia at the time. Over the next few years, Posol and Gerinedze proved to become a powerful duo in the political scene, taking advantage of the Salovian Civil War to paint them as the champions of the Baykalian people. In 2006, Baykalia gained its independence, and with it Lady Posol and Gerinedze rose to sit on the ministerial cabinet for the first Chancellor of Baykalia Hugo Durgaliuri. As 2012 came around, Gerinedze threw his hat into the candidacy for Chancellor, and with the backing of both Lady Posol’s campaigning and Posol Industries’ financial support, won the 2012 election handily against Durgaliuri, with Lady Posol being appointed as Foreign Minister. His tenure was cut short, however, as in late November 2015, he passed away, originally thought of food poisoning. Only today do we know that, through these leaked documents, Lady Posol herself poisoned Gerinedze. A snap election took place shortly after, naming Lady Posol as the third Chancellor of Baykalia. Now at the head of Baykalia, and her husband as CEO of a globally-successful shipping and logistics company, Lady Posol became one of the most powerful and well-connected individuals on the planet. The new Chancellor went to work, silencing dissidents, closing the country off to neighboring countries (except notably Posol Industries and its employees), and taking Baykalia out of the Auroran Continental Assembly, all towards installing the fascist regime we know today.

According to the documents found in Operation Wraith, the slave ring began with the chaos of the Aurora-Pacific War. Taking advantage of the lack of bureaucratic oversight and red tape throughout the continent, Posol Industries secretly installed numerous outposts designed to house captured and kidnapped individuals, primarily located near rail lines connected to the Posol Industries-owned network or located next to shipping ports commonly utilized by Serenitech. These slaves were sent (either by rail or ship) to eastern Nilovia, where the military organization United Nilovian Council of Order and Prosperity (UNCOP) held an iron grip on the land. Once arriving in Nilovia, the slaves were made to work in mineral and rare-urth metal mines until total exhaustion took hold. The documented fatality rate of the mines is recorded in these files as being upwards of 48% a month, the bodies being burned just outside many of the mine entrances. After a mining operation had exhausted its exploitable resources, the minerals, metals, and surviving slaves were then transported northwards through the Great Auroran Desert towards Chita, where the minerals and metals would be sold into the global market, and the slaves “recycled” back into the slave ring, often to be sold to sex traffickers, cheap farming labour, and other forms of modern slavery.
This horrendous operation has been global in scope, involving numerous crime groups, cults, mafias, and governmental officials. Below, we have compiled a list containing all these people, companies, organizations, and crime groups who involved themselves in some way to this ring:

The content uncovered by Operation Wraith and the flash drive found at the crash site of Remis Posol’s jet show that the darker parts of humanity still rot under the polished surface of our world. We implore everybody around the world to be vigilant and observant in identifying victims of trafficking and other forms of modern slavery.

Baykalia in Turmoil

Weeks after the release of the documents surrounding the Korobi scandal, Lady Posol has disappeared out of the public eye, assumed to have fled into exile. Many postulate she has returned to Fortuna while others suggest she has simply “gone dark”, though there is little evidence to go by that points one way or the other. With Lady Posol absent from the Chancellery, it is believed her daughter Yolana Posol will assume authority over the country.

2021 Zedakhli Vote Results

With the Tuvalt 2021 Zedakhli Election concluded and votes finally tallied, Chancellor Petrovavich’s party, Saert’o! has seen its largest share of the legislature since 2012, at the beginning of Petrovavich’s first term. Such a vote bodes well for items on her legislative agenda, things like deepened UNAC integration, improvements in the faltering higher education sector, among other things.

New Capital in Axdel

After a vote in the houses of the National Assembly, the capital of Axdel is now planned to relocate from Andel to Arkalo Major. This relocation is a long term plan to be fully implemented in 2045.

West Borean Elections Shake-up

After having gained the plurality of seats in the 2019 general election, Sinter Tass’ Soldiers’ Guild Party has fallen out of the Borean people’s favor in the 2021 election, losing 64 seats total. This places Gull Hughny, leader of the Socialist party in West Borea, as the next Prime Minister of the West Borean Federation. This election is not without its controversies however, as Sinter Tass has refused to accept the election results, claiming to have won the election.
