[POLITICS] Social Democrats to join governing coalition

The leader of the Social Democratic Party, Mihaela Reșcupean, met with the co-chairs of the Left-Green Alliance, Maria Ram and Dochia Petre, and with Prime Minister Alexandru Odobescu at the House of the Republic to negotiate a possible entry into the governing coalition. This comes after several former members of the Limboese Civic Union became members of the SD.

According to some sources, the Social Democrats have requested the economy ministry and the energy ministry, if the current ministers holding these portfolios do not join their party.

[POLITICS] Pren is guilty and Johnes still delusional

The verdict in the criminal case of former Prime Minister Henry Pren, reopened by the chief prosecutor of the General Anti-Corruption Commission, Renate Mircova, was handed down this afternoon. Pren received a sixteen-year prison sentence without parole.

The interim leader of the Prosperity Party, Eric Johnes, declared in a post on social networks that “the decision to arrest and sentence Henry Pren is one made for purely political reasons by the chief prosecutor of the GAC at the command of the LCU-LPP-GP coalition.” He also accused the governing coalition of “acting in the interests of foreigners, wanting to sell the country for less.”

This is not the first time that the interim president of the Arrows has made such statements with a hint of conspiracy. A week after the arrest of Henry Pren, he accused the government and, by association, the entire state apparatus, of being served by hidden forces of the MBE. These statements even earned him a fine from the Anti-Discrimination Council for using xenophobic, racist, or speciesist language.

[INTERNAL] Fatal accident on A1

Fatal accident on the Corova-Stratin section of the A1 motorway on the way to Corova, where traffic is restricted to only one lane due to asphalt repair work.

One of the drivers involved, who was driving at speed, lost control of his car due to the wet road and crashed into several cars.

The accident resulted in the death of five people and serious injuries to seven others. Police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter and are warning drivers to adjust their speed to the weather conditions, especially given the heavy rains in the north of the country.

[EXTERNAL] Snap elections in Shimajiro

Shimajiro’s Imperial Chancellor, Sayuri Fujimura, has announced the dissolution of the government and the holding of early elections, Shimajiro Today reports.

She stated that she no longer wishes to cooperate with the People’s Will Party. The latter’s leader, Kaz Nakabayashi, clearly affected by this decision, said that his party will prepare for a strong campaign against the Democratic Party.

Thus, the Shimanese people will go to the polls a year earlier than planned.

[EXTERNAL] Limboese-hosted international conference being planned

Federal Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy, Maria Tonova, said during statements after today’s government meeting that her ministry is preparing to create an international platform where important topics such as climate change, sustainable development and social justice will be discussed.

She also specified that this platform is only addressed to a certain type of countries. Asked if certain countries will be excluded, Tonova said: “We will certainly not cooperate with countries whose governments are responsible for genocides and similar crimes.”
