Because the information of Kandorith was horridly outdated on the forums, I have decided to completely write a new factbook.

I would really appreciate any feedback/comments which can result in the improvement of the Kandorese factbooks, culture etc.

Also any questions, I will gladly answer.

Do note this is still a work in progress, due to being extremely busy with my job.

History - Before Kandorese Calendar - 800

As a land, Kandorith has always been populated in one form or another, from simple prehistoric tribesmen through thundering Medieval warlords up to the high-tech, stylish and modern present day people. Kandorese ancient history is reflected in the culture of today, from politics to sport and everything in between. The nation itself, however, was only designated as ‘Kandorith’ from around 470(52 Kandorese Calendar) because of the creation of a first real Kingdom by Emperor Ture, Eventually the country was devided in Three seperatly operating states, during the “Three Kingdom Dynasty”

Around April 1919 (1501 Kandorese Calendar) The Empire of Kandorith was invaded by the forces of Meriath Ardon and Ricven Serpenthelm Putting the country under a socialistic dictatorship, which was destroyed by Emperor Uchi on July 6th 1999(1581 Kandorese Calendar), restoring Kandorith to a mighty empire once again.

Kan Dynasty ? 1200 BKC - Dorith Dynasty

The Kan Dynasty is the “Sapphire Dynasty” the dynasty in which the gods shaped the land and created the people that still live in these lands, some pottery and writings have been found and dated back to this dynasty, showing images of the gods, stories about them and describing them, yet an exact date is unknown… It is rumored that this dynasty started around 1200 BKC(Before Kandorian Calendar) and lasted till around 10BKC

The Dorith Dynasty “Dynasty of the Land” followed the Kan Dynasty, both these dynasties giving name to the landmass, this is the dynasty of the god wars and treason, the dynasty where the Yatagarasu made it’s first appearance, the goddess’ grandchildren had betrayed her rule and the country emerged into war, a war of control, the Si-San(13)-Provinces were now fighting to gain land from another

Yatagarasu according to writings was sent down by the Raven goddess (Yataso) to keep the lands in check and take note of the situation, tough she discovered the situation was out of control and reported that to the Sun Goddess, she decided her grandchildren apart from the innocent ones, had to dissapear.

As the Sei and Der province were fighting on their borders suddenly screams could be heard from the back of their lines, suddenly their leaders suffered from something that looked like a heart-attack, but instead of falling on the floor, their bodies turned into grey, smolding ash, with that the land rippled and the armies were thrown back to their own provinces, where they were forced to stay for 5 generations, without leader.

Yamo Dynasty 40-52

Before the unification of Kandorith it was ruled seperatly by Warlords and Province lords, keeping their own people under control, untill the rise of Yamo Saicho, this somewhat aged man (62 when he started gathering support) started to call province Warlords together to work as one single force, the entire south-west of Kandorith was soon to be united under Yamo Saicho.

The glorious “reign” of Yamo Saicho’s “South Province” nation would come to an end on the 4th of September in the year 52 (Kandorian Calendar) As Yamo invaded the central north of Kandorith, known as the “Kurei Province” (The Red Province) his army found their first large resistance, Warlord Ture was prepared for Yamo’s vast army and technology and had ammassed an army of his own, together with his allied province “Tesho Province” (Wind Province) in the Eastern parts of the land.

As the armies of Yamo fought to unite the land, Yamo was struck by an arrow out of the nowhere and fell dead uppon the red soil of the province, large parts of his army were either captured, butchered or fled back to the south.

Ture Dynasty 52-80

As Ture quickly advanced due to his fleeing enemies, slaying them amongst the way into the south, with Yamo defeated his armies and people were confused and say Ture as either hellsend or heavensend to reign over the people, slowly and steadily by February 53 Ture had conquered the Central North, Central West and the South and was moving his way into the South-Western provinces.

The Jusho Province in the South-West tried to prepare for Ture’s armies invading but could not hold for long due to too few men that were able to fight, since most of their armies were divisions gifted by Warlord Yamo, as they fought till May 53, holding off Ture’s advance with guerilla tactics, they were suddenly awestruck as they were invaded from the north by Warlord Jirei, the lord of the Tesho Province, as they advanced into the lands, the Jusho Province surendered to Ture and their Warlord Ping-To was beheaded for treason.

Ture reigned these 4 provinces and proclaimed himself as Emperor of The Provinces, with this title he ruled the provinces for almost a complete 27 years.

After these years Ture fell ill and passed his reign onto his son, who would be the emperor to see a legendary rise of unknown proportions.

Yatasei Dynasty 81- 100

Ture’s son: Tshei now reigned as emperor and saw to improving the nation’s infrastructure, military and economy, tough disturbing reports came from the northern borders of the Kurei Province, the local Warlord said his wall guards reported several moving army divisions, ranging anywhere between 500,000 till 1,500,000 men, the young naive emperor offcourse dismissed him as being insane and the armies to be impossible to exist, especially of that size.

Emperor Tshei was ensure his army was the largest army ever known to the people, his army having the total size of a vast 2,500,000 men, seperated and divided into 15 elite divisions, the largest division being 170,000 men strong.

In March of the year 80 the young emperor was shown a disturbing report, the most northern village Sei-zho in Kurei Province was completely burned to the ground and there was no sign of any survivors and a division of 50,000 men dissapeared, like they had vanished into the nothing.

The emperor soon dispatched his Golden Division, of 170,000 men, accompanied by 160,000 men from the Imperial Division to the area to investigate and later invade the most Northern, Yata Province, here their armies and the emperor himself, accompanying the divisions would be mindblown by what they saw.

As they wanted to enter the vast Yata forests according the the map they were greated by a huge gate, taller than any tree Tschei had ever seen, with large metal doors and a vast gate, atleast 6 metres tall, a voice thundered down “What is the meaning of your armed visit to the Yata gate?” On which the emperor answered by giving his archers the order to fire and shouted to the voice to open the gate in the name of the emperor and the Empire of the Provinces.

Slowly the gate opened and a man in a golden armour adorned with Lotus flowers, a large polearm with what seemed to be a sword like attachement on it and a helmet with large maybe 1 to 2 metres long raven feathers in it approached the army on a pearl white horse. he spoke to the men in the front lines and claimed to be their new Emperor, Emperor Yatasei, send by the gods to do their devine task.

Startled by the man’s massive posture and extrodinaire armour they immidiatly fled the field of battle. As Tshei wanted to give the order to attack, the other gates opened and a huge cavalary force charged his army, almost immidiatly destroying his Golden Division, his hand arose for his next order as a spear flew towards him, completely ripping open his armour and chest, briging his reign and life to an end.

Yatasei gave the leftover men a choice, join his forces and be rewarded with riches and hand over the 4 provinces to his might or be hunted, murdered and their families would burn in the villages of the provinces.

The 4 provinces were eventually handed over by wise man Gureisho, the right hand of the late Emperor Ture now, the land counted 5 Provinces under 1 Emperor

Emperor Yatasei named the land “Kandorith” and was the first person to draw a complete country map containing: under the Yatasei rule: In the North his own province: Yata Province In the south: Soucho Province in the South-West: Jusho Province, In the Central: Kurei Province and in the East: Tesho Province, under the reign of Emperor Yatasei the empire florished and grew into something the previous emperors could only dream of.

The reign of Emperor Uchi of the House Kirei Sachi

Early May 1581 (Kandorithian Calendar) Emperor Uchi saw his chance, he found a breach in Meriath Ardon’s reign, the young soon to be emperor called the “Corei e Provei” (Council of the Provinces) together and dropped countless of maps, invasion plans and descriptions of supply bases.

On the 19th of May 1581 he would launch his assault into the mainland of Kandorith, this war would be known as Furei Gi e Godei (Freedom By the Gods) Eventually in July 1581 the House of Ardon succumbed to the Wu Provei Oshen(Five Province Offense) and it’s tremendous force on the 6th morning of the month.

As the flag slowly fell from the palace walls, rejoice, cheering, dance and shouting could be heard from the Tian e Heavu Furei (Square of the Heaven’s Freedom)

Emperor Uchi currently reigns Kandorith. with all 13 provinces united:

North: Jojun Province, Yama Province and Yatei Province

South: Tenshi Island, Soucho Province and Shoujon Province

Central: Kurei Province, Kanto Province and Kusho Province

West: Jusho Province and Jurei Province

East: Tesho Province and Yata(Capital) Province

After years of closure to other nations and media, the news came that self proclaimed emperor Meriath Ardon was assassinated, the most powerful family saw their chance and claimed rights to the throne and the assassination itself.

Within a few years Kandorith slowly changed, from united provinces/states to a vast empire under an emperor AND a government, leaving the emperor without complete supreme power, only when needed.

Emperor Uchi slowly gained alot of populairity amongst the people due to the laws becomming less strict and the promises of making Kandorith a better place for everyone, even those that were counted as “lessers” during the reign of Ardon.

Currently the government is working on completely rebuilding the country from the rubble of war.

In 1583 Emperor Uchi ‘renovated’ the Kandorese military system, creating the Imperial Kandorese Armed Forces (IKAF)

Kan - Meisho War May 1585 - October 1592

The Kan-Meisho war is a war that started in 1585 Kandorese Calendar Date between The Empire of Kandorith and The Meisho Kingdom, eventually also involving an old Kandorese Puppet state from the Ardon Dynasty: The Tshingto-ke Federation.

The Events
Early April 1585 the tension between The Empire of Kandorith and neigbouring Meisho Islands reached an all time high, this because of two sunken Meisho vessels, which were reported of showing hostility.

The Meisho Kingdom send a message to the Kandorese media that all captured crew men were to returned, 340 in total, including a captain and captain-admiral.

The crew men were held till may 12th, when the Meisho government put an ultumatum, treathening with an invasion.

Unimpressed by the treath, Emperor Uchi insisted the Meisho minister of foreign affairs to visit immidiatly.

Minister T´ien-To’Han arrived at 11:30 local time, May 12th, after ariving Prime Minister Jantei Saiteohago and Emperor Uchi welcomed him to the Royal Palace. Around 13:10 the Meisho minister was allowed to speak to the crew men, they were escorted to the Themetoei Halls Where the Emperor adressed them

Emperor Uchi finished his speech, the Meisho delegate and marines were escorted to the Miruei Halls, after entry the doors closed, after another short speech about treason and trust from Emperor Uchi, he gave the command of execution.

351 Meisho succesfully executed, the Emperor orders to get the entire naval force ready for immidiate attack on the Meisho Kingdom and orders the Prime Minister to send word of the execution to the Meisho King.

The Meisho Kingdom received the messages, the news shocks the nation’s citizen and politicans, uncertain of what to do they gather the council.

During the Meisho Council’s meeting Kandorith’s joint Naval and Airfleet is preparing to leave the docks, with the Emperor’s blessing, while the many broadcasting channels across the nation, bring the news of the war to the common public.

With this the Kan-Meisho War began.

First real exchange of fire
Around 15:37, May 13th 1585 the Flagship IKS Uchi accompanied by the IKS Mitsuko, IKS Yaturei, IKS Yata and the IKS Umeru entered ‘Meisho waters’ and reported sightings of the first Meisho ships, in range of the cannons, IKS Yaturei was ordered to fire it’s 4 main cannons directly on the Meisho fleet, followed by two salvos from the Uchi, Yata and Mitsuko, the Umera circling around to guide the incomming Airfleet.

The Meisho fleet took several heavy direct hits, immidiatly destroying and sinking 15 of their vessels, 2 other vessels were hit directly after, while trying to flee from the next incomming cannon fire, these hits led to the Meisho Flagship; MMS Ta-Ka-Toché being hit in the aft, completely destroying their rudder and most of their propulsion system.

The IKS Uchi closed in on the now sailing in circles MMS Ta-Ka-Toché and completely blasted the left hull almost literally off the ship, immidiatly sinking it and killing 2,000 crew members, after this the IKS Uchi chased down the other 8 retreating vessels and sucesfully sank 6, leaving the 2 ‘succesfully retreated’ vessels heavily damaged with a huge number of casualties.

End of the Kan-Meisho War
After the naval slaughtering in the Taú-Té Sea the Airfleet closed in towards the first Meisho island, the flagship, IKS Kamikare being made battle ready to test Kandorith’s first Yato Artillery Cannon, slowly but surely the ship’s massive nuclear reactors powered up the weapon, just before it fired everything seemed to be completely silent, with only the sounds of the wind and sea barely hearable.

A skyshattering bang and a huge flash of light, almost as bright as a metropolis during the night the massive cannon fired, seconds later the island was hit, the result was devastating, within 5 seconds the entire city of Jo-Shá-Gúan was almost wiped from from the map, killing 48,250 people, wounding 12,600 and destroying over 6,8 Billion Quan worth of buildings and infrastructure. completely lighting up the sky with an eerie glow.

Somewhat fewer than an hour later, the first Kandorese marines landed on the island’s beaches and captured the remaining villages, raising the Kandorese flag, claiming the Island of To-Shé as Kandorese land, renaming it to Gúan-Fu Island.

After this destruction, the Meisho Kingdom surrendered to Emperor Uchi, ending the war and handing over the two Meisho-Islands to the Kandorese state.

Military

The Kandorese military forces counts roughly over 2,600,000 soldiers and over 5,000,000 AI soldiers.

These soldiers are spread over multiple organs of the armed forces.

The combination of all these organs is called: The Imperial Kandorese Armed Forces (IKAF)

The Imperial Kandorese Attack Force (IKAF)

The IKAF is the main infantry and armour devision of the Kandorese armed forces, roughly 1,000,000 soldiers serve under the banned of this organ of the army, they are mostly the first to invade a country after war has been declared, together with the IKSF

The Imperial Kandorese Defense Force(IKDF)

The IKDF is the armed forces organ dedicated to the defense of the Kandorese mainland and it’s people.

These 530,000 men and women are assigned to multiple stations across Kandorith to fight of any thread that may be near.

The IKDF ranges from ground forces and armoured forces to naval and air forces

The Imperial Kandorese Navy (IKN)

The IKN is one of the most magnificient forces of the Kandorese Armed Forces, most of the defense budget is injected in this organ, next to the IKA.

The IKN counts over 1500 Vessels, with somewhat more than 500,000 marines to operate on these vessels, it should also be noted that alot of vessels are AI controlled.

The Imperial Kandorese Air-Fleet (IKA)

Perhaps the strangest, but the most effective organ of the IKAF with about 500,000 soldiers, 8,500 ships and the highest ranked officers of the IKAF, the IKA is an organ dedicated to the use of Airships for fast deployment, bombardements and immidiate reaction to any aggression.

Imperial Kandorese Special Forces(IKSF)

The men and women of the IKSF are dedicated to protecting the Kandorese people at all cost, they are used in the field, aswel as during terrorist threaths, tough they only have around 50,000 to 70,000 serving, they are the main strike force of public safety.

Lately they have also been tasked to protect the Imperial Palace.

Geography

Therseias is Kandorith’s main port city, located in the South of the mainland, trough here most international trade happens.

Next to that, Therseias also serves as the Empire’s main industrial city, most products available in Kandorith are made here and shipped by the Imperial Therseias Post, the main postal service for parts and goods.

The last National Census of Kandorith counted 210 million people living in Therseias

Shouhuge

Shouhuge is a coastal city in South-East Kandorith with 80 Million inhabitants, not being a “large” city in Kandorith, but very important because of it’s sports and entertainment industries.

Shouhuge is in the top-3 most important cities of Kandorith, housing the Imperial Movie Studios, where most TV shows of Kandorith are recorded and broadcasted from, if not broadcasted from Kan City.

Culture & Religion

The culture of Kandorith is a preserved culture, it has barely changed in thousand years, nowadays people tend to back off a little from culture, because of modern day Kandorith, nontheless it is still an important part of daily life.

Religion

Kento (神道, Kentō) or Kato-no-michi is the indigenous spirituality of The Empire of Kandorith and the Kandorese people. It is a set of practices, to be carried out diligently, to establish a connection between present day Kandorith and its ancient past. Kento practices were first recorded and codified in the written historical records of the Kandoriathan and Sutei e Muteki in the 2nd and 3d century. Still, these earliest Kandorese writings do not refer to a unified “Kento religion”, but rather to disorganized folklore, history, and mythology. Kento today is a term that applies to public shrines suited to various purposes such as war memorials, harvest festivals, romance, and historical monuments, as well as various sectarian organizations. Practitioners express their diverse beliefs through a standard language and practice, adopting a similar style in dress and ritual, dating from around the time of the Yatusei and Jin Dynasties

The word Kento (“Will of the Gods”) was adopted from the written Kandorese (神道, shén dào), combining two Maji: “Ken” (神), meaning kato; and “tō” (道), or “do” meaning a philosophical path or study. Kato can be defined as “spirits”, “essences” or “deities”, that are associated with many understood formats; in some cases being human-like, in others being animistic, and others being associated with more abstract “natural” forces in the world (mountains, rivers, lightning, wind, waves, trees, rocks). Kato and people are not separate; they exist within the same world and share its interrelated complexity.

There are currently 2 billion official practitioners of Kento in The Empire of Kandorith, although a person who practices any manner of Kento rituals may be so counted.

In Kento, there is no real good or evil, rather more like good deeds and bad deeds, to be counted on and judged by. There is no pure evil, only bad-willed spirits.

Hollidays

The Empire of Kandorith has a couple of specific celebrations and hollidays, which are set by the government as official days off.

-Day of The Emperor, the birthdate of the Emperor in charge (Currently Emperor Uchi ~ 14th of July)

-Day of Heavens, Always 2 days after the Day of The Emperor, celebrating the patron Deinties of the city you live in (Kento holliday)

-Spring Festival, Always the third weekend of June, honouring the deinties of blossoms, flowers and spring.

-Winter’s Day, 21 December, celebrating the winter and praying for surviving the winter.

-Ascension Day 1 January, Kandorese El Farto Dayo, celebrating the existance of the world and Kandorith.

Government

Kandorith is a constitutional empire in which the Emperor is head of state and the Prime Minister of Kandorith is the head of government. The Sakuei is the national legislature of Kandorith, in a multi-party system where Executive and Legislative power is exercised by the government, but can be overruled by the Emperor.

Imperial House

Kandorith is ruled from the Imperial House of Kandorith, the Emperor, his wife and the oldest son rule the country, tough they have advisors, their word is the last.

Sakuei

The Sakuei is the parliament and senate of Kandorith, they make the laws, present them to the emperor and rule under the emperor.

The Sakuei is chosen trough free elections, once a year, between October 25 and October 30.

The current parties are in the Sakuei after the general elections of 1592, with the number of seats gained behind the party name.

Famous Kandorese

Kandorith has many celebrities and a vast pop culture, tough there are some that are even above that.

Muck Tagaci

Muck Tagaci is the most succesful pop artist in Kandorith, his personal fortune is close to that of the Imperial House, his name also being about as famous as the Emperor himself

His record sales are above 5 billion and he releasd 4 albums and 21 singles.

Next to that he plays in several drama and comedy series, making him even more famous.

His newest role is in the best watched Drama series of Kandorith: “Kasho Te Karu” (Hold Me Tight), in which Tagaci has the main role of “Tago Maheru” A business man involved with Kazayu business(Mafia)

Materu Destruction

This all male band is the best-selling and most loved band formation in Kandorith, they rival Muck Tagaci in record sales, but with 5 Albums and 8 singles, it is expected they will surpass him, since Tagaci is way older.

Their biggest hit was “Aikoshu” (I love you) back in 1583, which is also the title of their best selling album.

Lisho Yaru

TV Personality of the year 1592, longest employed person at the Imperial Kandorith News Centre.

This man started his career when the first Nationwide broadcasting was done in 1531 at the age of 21.

The number of people that watched the news skyrocketed upwards after that, apperantly his charm and way of reporting and news reading interested the people, making him the standard news reader of the Imperial Kandorese News.

After the Ardon Regime fell and the Imperial Studios were established he was also offered several roles in action films and series, where in some he even played as himself, he is without a doubt, Kandorith’s most beloved media figure.
