Paxist Man Arrested for Assaulting Transman

Anapa - Yesterday, the Southern Anapa Magistrate Court sentenced a 31-year-old Paxist Packilvanian human male immigrant to 5 years in prison for aggravated assault of and hate speech towards an Oan man.

In January 2023, Iman Halkhmeed assaulted Ataahua Mutahenui (25) who was trying to do groceries at his store. According to a statement by Mutahenui’s lawyers, Halkhameed asked Mutahenui to leave the store because Mutahenui was transgender which was incompatible with Halkhameed’s personal and religious beliefs. When Mutahenui refused, Halkhameed proceeded to verbally abuse Mutahenui and attempted to take the groceries from them. They got into a physical struggle that saw Halkhameed punch Mutahenui in the face. Witnesses outside the store, saw Mutahenui running away with one of them calling the police. The police arrived shortly after and arrested Halkhameed. He was taken to the Toa-Maui Police Station and was subsequently released on bail.

The man, Iman Halkhmeed, arrived in the Oan Isles in 2020 as a refugee and was granted asylum in 2021. He arrived in the Oan Isles with his family (his wife, Ashmayira and their two sons). He started a small supermarket in the Toa-Maui neighbourhood in Anapa. Under the country’s asylum program, he was given a place to stay. He eventually learned some Oan and managed to make some Oan friends. The family attended mijhalis in a small majhid based out of the home of a member of the Paxist community in his area.

Arana Marama, the candidate for the Premiership of the Oan Isles and the leader of the Green Party, led a protest outside of the Southern Anapa Magistrate Court. Today, she addressed the members of the House of the People of the National Assembly and called for immigration from socially conservative and “civilisationally incompatible nations” such as Packilvania to be re-examined.

Jasper Ray: A Corrupted Star and How the Oan Government Sold Us Out
Kiri o te Toka

Last year, Jasper Ray, the former Chief Whip of the Kohatu Isles’ Legislative Assembly, was arrested by Oan authorities for allegations of money laundering, abuse of power, and obstruction of justice for bribing officials and using their position to expedite their purchase of an ammonium factory in Makatepa. The intelligence services have finally declassified some information surrounding their case and the revelations are deeply unsettling.

Jasper Ray was allegedly romantically linked to an unidentified businessman from Packilvania. They used their position to intimidate and deceive public officials in the Makatepa municipal government to approve the sale and conversion of a building in the Makatepa dockyards to an ammonium factory. This expedited the approval process and skirted checks that these kinds of business ventures would be subjected to.

A classified source informed authorities and the local prosecutor got a warrant to arrest Jasper Ray and their accomplices and raid the factory for documents and other evidence. There was a firefight between police and armed guards. Jasper Ray and their accomplices set the building ablaze, destroying the evidence and injuring police.

They escaped to the Free Pax States. After several months, they were arrested and repatriated to the Oan Isles. After serving their sentence, they kept a low profile. They resurfaced in late 2022 and were accused by Packilvanian authorities of being involved in the attempted murder of Sultan Thumim V of Packilvania. Although Oan authorities arrested Mx Ray, they were released because there was little evidence.

Packilvania pressured Oan authorities to repatriate Jasper to the country to face trial by offering five Oan citizens and a favourable extradition treaty in exchange. The government accepted the treaty and Jasper was sent to Packilvania. To prevent the courts from blocking the repatriation, the Packilvanian government submitted a letter stating they would promise not to execute Jasper and to keep them in humane conditions during their investigation.

Unfortunately, their supposed accomplice, Prince Kujil has not faired as well since the Imperial Procuratorate of Bingol has announced that they will resume the trial against him after over a year of investigation by Packilvanian authorities. Pax pundits think it is almost certain that he will receive the death penalty.

So far, Mx Ray has not appeared in a court of law since their last appearance almost a year ago and has not been seen or had contact with their family. Oan authorities claim they have proof of life and assure the public that Jasper is being kept in dignified conditions during the long investigation. There was public outcry in the Oan Isles that Jasper over the slow pace which sparked fears of the violation of their rights. After months of complaints by Oan authorities including a threat to revise the terms of the extradition treaty, Packilvanian authorities stated that they would resume the trial. They claimed the process stalled because of the backlog of cases and capacity constraints in law enforcement.

Sapient rights activists have criticised our government for handing Jasper over. The government has defended its actions citing the supposedly groundbreaking extradition treaty. Freedom International said they will take the Oan government to the Auroran Court of Justice for allegedly violating the Charter of the UNAC and Auroran law by approving this treaty. They hope that the court will declare the treaty illegal.
