UNAC, THE PANDORA’S BOX OF THE COALITION
Gercuktav, 10 January 2025

Tensions are rising within the LCU-SWP-GP coalition, after Prime Minister Alex Orgonomik proposed during a government meeting to start the procedure for the Limboese Republic to join the Union of Nations of the Auroran Continent (UNAC).

Yesterday, a new government meeting was held at the House of the Republic, during which Prime Minister Alex Orgonomik proposed joining UNAC. Although the proposal was put aside by the executive, reactions began to appear immediately after the meeting ended.

Deputy Prime Minister and socialist leader Marri Ram stated after she left the meeting that "during the coalition negotiations from last year, when it came to the government program, the leaders of the Limboese Civic Union did not announce anything to us regarding a possible accession.

I want to make it clear that both I and the Socialist Workers’ Party are opposed to an accession to such an organization, especially considering the recent conflicts in which it has been involved. We have entered the Single Auroran Market and that is enough for us," declared the official.

Opposition leader Henry Pren said in a post on the internet: “Joining the Union of Nations of the Auroran Continent would be the end of our nation’s sovereignty and its transformation into a colony of foreign powers.” The post was also shared by the leader of the Alliance for Freedom Party, Mike Remin.

There is currently no official statement from the Greens or the Civics on this matter.

BREAKING NEWS: HENRY PREN, ARRESTED
Gercuktav, 27 January 2025, 13:24

21:43 UPDATE:
A press release was issued by the Arrows: "The Prosperity Party condemns the arrest of the party’s president Henry Pren, which was carried out for political reasons at the behest of the Limboese Civic Union.

However, since this is a person who holds a leadership position, the National Council of the Prosperity Party has decided to temporarily dismiss Mr. Henry Pren from the position of party president. Until the situation is clarified, the party will be led on an interim basis by Mr. Eric Johnes," the official release reads.

ORIGINAL NEWS:
Former Prime Minister and current opposition leader Henry Pren was indicted a few minutes ago by anti-corruption prosecutors in the 2006 National Bank theft case. He is charged with embezzlement, money laundering, abuse of power, corruption and obstruction of justice. If found guilty, Pren could face up to 20 years in prison without parole.

Among those charged in the case are former President Ran Pristine and former Foreign Minister Patrick Stones. The case was reopened last week for the second time by the chief prosecutor of the General Anticorruption Commission, Renat Mio.

In 2006, 1.5 billion buri disappeared from the Reserve Fund of the Limboese National Bank. Although the evidence and statements of whistleblowers in the case clearly showed that the money had been stolen, it was closed in 2010 on the pretext that the funds had been mismanaged. The case was first reopened in 2015, also by Renat Mio, but she was pressured by the government to resign, and the case was closed again.

If Henry Pren is not charged by the end of the year, the facts in this case could become statute-barred.

At the moment, there has been no official statement from the Arrows.

MORE HIGHWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Gercuktav, 01 February 2025, 10:42

The Road Infrastructure Development Company (RIDC) has appointed the winners of several tenders for the design and construction of the most important motorway sections in the country. In the case of others, the work stage exceeded 50%, including the A3 (Gercuktav-Skauzuv), A5 (Gercuktav-Ramikrat) motorways and the extension of the A1 motorway on Akmon Island.

Experts in the field of transport infrastructure believe that by the end of the year we will be able to travel entirely from Gercuktav to Skauzuv on a high-speed road, if the constructors of the Girikag - Halam and Ierotav-Skauzuv sections continue at the current pace.

The mountain section of the A5 motorway has a good chance of being inaugurated at the end of this summer, especially due to the unusually mild winter. It is also hoped that the extension of the A1 motorway on Akmon Island will be opened to traffic by April.

“In the case of the Limbville-A2 motorway link, it is not yet certain whether it will be put into operation this year, especially due to delays caused by unfavorable weather conditions and the poor mobilization of the constructor,” the RIDC director said at a press conference. Another piece of bad news was that no construction company showed any interest in the tender for the Matrolinsk-Abtava link tunnel.

In total, the development minister expects over 100 kilometers of high-speed road to be put into operation this year.
