[POLITICS] Liberal Union, one step away from breaking up. Agrarians abandon consultations regarding the common electoral program.

The President of the Agrarian Party, Ileana Vântur, declared that her party will not continue consultations with the Civics and Libertarians regarding the Liberal Union’s electoral program, after the alliance partners failed to adopt adequate measures regarding the development of rural areas. She pointed out that the villages and small towns in Limbo are facing a wave of migration to larger settlements, and that this trend is especially evident in the less developed provinces.

“We can see how the Limboese village is slowly disappearing year by year, and our so-called partners do not want to listen to our proposals. They want to get to power, but realistically speaking, the current government has taken the best measures in the last few decades, both for the urban and rural environment,” Vântur declared in an interview.

This is one of the repeated conflicts within the Liberal Union, which is starting to show signs of falling apart. On November 12, another conflict occurred over the hypothetical adoption of the Kirib as Limbo’s national currency.

[POLITICS] Pristine, voluntarily returned from the MSB. He was arrested at Văcărești Airport.

The former president of Limbo, Ran Pristine, returned to the country last night, flying from Rouanezkador to Corinești. The police waited for him at Văcărești Airport, after being informed of his return, and arrested him. Pristine is currently in pretrial detention, to be tried at the Corinești Court.

Ran Pristine was president from 2020 to 2024, after being defeated by Hellen Portman in the presidential elections. He is targeted in the same case in which Henry Pren was convicted. More precisely, it is the case of the 1.5 billion lei stolen from the Reserve Fund of the Limboese Bank in 2006.

He is also accused of embezzlement, money laundering, abuse of power and obstruction of justice by the Chief Prosecutor of the General Anticorruption Commission, Renate Mircova. If found guilty, Pristine could also receive a 16-year prison sentence.

[INTERNAL] Explosion at the Matrolinsk oil refinery. The red response plan has been activated.

An explosion occurred at the Disprogaz refinery in Matrolinsk, the largest in Limbo. According to the Viștenia Provincial Emergency Inspectorate, five workers lost their lives in the explosion, and 13 others were seriously injured, being urgently taken to the Matrolinsk Provincial Emergency Hospital.

Manager of the Matrolinsk Provincial Emergency Hospital: “At 18:25, 13 people, aged between 31 and 56, were urgently hospitalized with burns on approximately 35% of their body surface. Their condition is currently stable.”

At the moment, the authorities have declared that it is a gas leak. Several employees of the refinery declared that for a long time, they have been reporting problems with its infrastructure since 2016, that is, for almost a decade, but their complaints were not listened to by the company’s management.

Contacted by PBC, Disprogaz management did not want to comment on these accusations. The company, which is already in the middle of a conflict between the Federal Government and LegaPetro Limbo SA, could be sanctioned if these accusations are true. Some of the employees within Disprogaz have already announced that they will go on strike.

[POLITICS] Pristine requesting to serve 16-year sentence at home. His health is not good, according to his lawyer.

Pristine’s lawyer asked the judges of the Corinești Tribunal to serve his sentence at home, arguing that his health condition is not good, and sending him to prison could worsen it. The former president, who was pre-trial arrested at the end of last month at Văcărești Airport, could receive a harsher sentence because he left the country while under judicial control.

According to his lawyer, Ran Pristine left the country for medical reasons.

[POLITICS] Vântur's ultimatum for the Liberal Union: rural development or breaking the alliance. Agrarians are starting to look towards the Populists.

In a new televised intervention, the leader of the Agrarian Party, Ileana Vântur, declared that her party could leave the Liberal Union if an agreement on rural development and agriculture policies is not reached with the alliance partners. At the same time, several agrarians have declared in recent days on social networks that they would agree to their party joining the United Popular Front, the left-wing alliance currently in power.

“I don’t see why the party I lead should still be in this so-called alliance, if our proposals on agriculture and rural development are not taken into account. I observe, even with great surprise, that the current government is taking quite good measures for villages and farmers.”

These are the words of the agrarian leader, Ileana Vântur, in an interview given to a news station. This all comes after, since the beginning of last month, the Libertarians and Civics have refused to accept the proposals from the Agrarian Party regarding rural development and support for agriculture. The Libertarians have stated that these are responsibilities of the provincial authorities, and the Civics say that the Federal Government cannot afford to support the entire agricultural sector in the country.

In all this internal conflict, some members, some prominent, of the party have declared in several posts on social media that they would rather join the governing alliance than with the Liberals, arguing that there are quite large differences between them and their partners in the Liberal Union.

[INTERNAL] Final decision regarding Disprogaz has been taken: nationalization.

Federal Secretary for Development, Sara Avram, has proposed a plan to nationalize the partially state-owned company Disprogaz from LegaPetro Limbo, the national subsidiary of the oil company LegaPetro. The plan has passed the cabinet meeting and is to be sent to the Economic Policy Committee of the Federal Senate.

The plan has been harshly criticized by Civic leader Dominic Grey. He argued his position by saying that the plan would not bring any benefits, and even more, could put the country in more debt than it currently is. According to a post he made on his personal Novus page, such a measure could potentially reduce foreign investment in the country.

Disprogaz has been in a sensitive situation for several months, after an explosion occurred at the Matrolinsk refinery last month, an incident after which several irregularities were found regarding the safety and quality of the infrastructure. Since then, all Disprogaz employees have been on strike.

[POLITICS] Agrarians leave the Liberal Union. Vântur sees potential in joining UPF.

Consultations were held todat within the Liberal Union regarding the joint program in case elections will be held next year. Ileana Vântur, leader of the Agrarian Party, told journalists at the scene as she left that the alliance had broken up.

"I believe that this alliance was the worst decision we made. Considering that the other so-called partners did not even want to hear our proposals regarding agriculture and rural affairs, I see this alliance as a dead end.

Regarding the future of the party, I will convene a meeting of the Executive Committee in which we will decide what to do. And, regarding the speculations regarding the (Popular United) Front, they may come true," Vântur told journalists.

[SCI-TECH] Novus prepares for mega-update

The team behind the social network Novus announced that their app and website will be more easily accessible to people in CIN member countries starting next week, after they worked on a new update to make it available in multiple languages.

Another new feature that will be brought to Novus with this update is the marking of accounts owned by public institutions or political parties, as well as the pushing of scientific content to users’ feeds, especially those of minors.

[POLITICS] Prosperity Party, refounded after disagreements among the Civics. Liberal Union, disintegrated.

Several former members of the Prosperity Party have left the Limboese Civic Union to rebuild their former party, after several conservative members of the LCU opposed the party’s new political program. This comes 10 days after the Agrarians left the Liberal Union, their leader, Ileana Vântur, considered the alliance “dead” at the time, and later joined the United Popular Front.

At the same time, the Libertarian Party also decided to leave the alliance. The leader of the far-right party, Steve Wilson, stated in a post on his personal Novus account: “The alliance was never about unifying the forces in the opposition, but about increasing influence over other right-wing parties. Right now, Grey and his party are the only ones responsible for the fracturing of the right in this country.”

Dominic Grey, the leader of Civics, told LBC Info that it was expected for the alliance to be unstable and that there was a risk that it would fall apart.

“I expected, I can’t say I didn’t know about that risk when I came up with the proposal. But I have to clarify that I didn’t impose anything on the other members of the alliance. From my point of view, what Wilson and Vântur are doing is just convincing their electorate that ‘look, we didn’t know, so it’s not our fault if we did something you don’t like’. That’s my opinion.”

[POLITICS] How has the voting intention of the Limboese change since the last elections? (Survey)

LISPS has published the latest survey in its “Limbo, at the end of the year” survey series. According to it, people’s voting intentions have changed radically over the year, indicating a major ideological shift in the country’s electorate, as well as an increase in trust in state authorities.

The year began with greater trust in religious institutions and the army, but this has changed over time. According to the survey, the most trusted institutions include:

  1. Religious institutions: 95.3%;
  2. President: 88.3% (+ 29.5 pp);
  3. Limbo Defense Forces: 85.6% (- 5.3 pp);
  4. Federal Government: 73.8% (+ 35.1 pp);
  5. Federal Senate / Constituent Assembly: 62.4% (+ 21.5 pp).

At the same time, a large part of the population seems to be in favor of the current government, while the opposition is losing voters, especially because of the latest scandals. The most popular federal parties and alliances, at the moment, are:

  1. United Popular Front: 71.3% (+ 7.9 pp);
  2. Libertarian Party: 9.7% (- 5.5 pp);
  3. Limboese Civic Union: 6.5% (+ 2.3 pp);
  4. Others: 2.1%;
  5. Undecided: 10.4%.
[INTERNAL] End-of-year conference will take place tomorrow morning, says Portman. Who is attending?

President Hellen Portman said in a press conference that she had invited several political figures and heads of institutions earlier this month to organize an open conference to be held tomorrow morning, December 31.

"Earlier this month, I made a request to organize an end-of-year conference, which would have the role of informing the population about the activity of the institutions during this year. This was addressed to:

- Prime Minister of the Federal Government;
- Members of the Federal Government and provincial governments;
- Presidents of the Federal Senate and the Constituent Assembly;
- Presidents of the Federal Senate committees;
- Leaders of the ruling parties and of the opposition;
- Presidents of the provincial legislatures;
- Governors of the provinces;
- Directors of the Federal Intelligence Service and the Foreign Intelligence Agency;
- President of the Constitutional Court;
- President of the High Court of Cassation and Justice;
- Prosecutor General of Limbo;
- Chief Prosecutor of the General Anti-Corruption Commission;
- Chief Prosecutor of the Federal Commission for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism;
- President of the Federal Council of Magistracy;
- Governor of the Limboese Bank;
- Chief of the General Staff;
- Inspector General of the Limboese Gendarmerie;
- Inspector General of the Federal Police;
- Ambassador of Limbo to the International Forum Security Council;
- and the Federal Ombudsman.

They, in turn, accepted the proposal made by me, and the press conference will take place tomorrow, December 31, at 8:00, inside the Limexpo building, here, in Corinești. Also, as you can imagine, I will be participating in this conference. Any representative of any publication has the right to appear at this conference. The only rules being, of course, maintaining order and peace during the conference and avoiding the use of insults towards any person, present or not at the event."

According to political sources, Libertarian Party leader Steve Wilson would not attend the conference. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy would also make this information public after the middle of the month, to allow time for foreign media to prepare for the event.

[SPECIAL] 2025, a year of change

The year 2025 brought many changes, both in our country and around the world. Tragedies and conflicts marked this year, but hope for a better future still remained among us.

The year began with the organization of the referendum that had the role of confirming the people’s desire for the country to join UNAC, a referendum that passed with a little over 60% of the votes in favor. This, after a short time ago, the Civics dismissed their party leader, Alexandru Odobescu, which resulted in an exodus of several members to other parties, such as the Social Democratic Party or the Green Party.

A few months later, in March, the parties in the coalition would form the United Popular Front, which later became the largest political alliance. The Limboese Civic Union’s exit from the government caused the need to organize several early elections in most of the provinces, which led to an overwhelming victory for the ruling parties.

In late autumn, unfortunately, Oracle Corina XII would die of a heart attack while hospitalized at the “Dr. Marius Dragomir” National Heart Institute. She was later cremated at the Livedea Monastery during a state funeral. The Eternal Assembly would elect Jasmina Pitrișor, currently named Anamaria IV, as the new leader of the organization.

The winter began, however, with protests against the former Chancellor of Fomalhaut, Bertha Neumann, protests that lasted three weeks and became violent after the abusive intervention of the provincial Gendarmerie. During this period, the Prime Minister requested the suspension of Fomalhaut’s provincial autonomy, a request that was rejected by the Constitutional Court on the grounds that the actions of the authorities there did not contravene the provisions of the constitution. This ended after Neumann fled the country before having to appear before the Bergstad Tribunal for her involvement in the Limsilva case.

Elections for the Constituent Assembly followed, in which the ruling alliance won a comfortable majority, followed by the Libertarian Party.

In the aftermath, student organizations and unions organized anti-fascist protests, demanding the banning of far-right organizations. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when a driver intentionally drove into a crowd of protesters in Corova, killing 11 people and injuring 27 others. The perpetrator was later caught, and prosecutors learned that he was part of a guerilla group called the “Patriotic League”, which was later dismantled by agents of the Federal Intelligence Service.

Internationally, Limbo would come into the spotlight after President Hellen Portman proposed the formation of a new intergovernmental organization, the Convention of Island Nations, which four other states joined: Beirais, Lièhuǒ, Shimajiro and Sigeta. Earlier in the year, West Atlalandr would invade its neighbor, drawing several negative reactions from other states, including Limbo, which ordered the sending of aid to East Atlalandr. Limbo also became a member of the IF Security Council.

In Shimajiro, a political scandal would erupt after reporters from Shimajiro Today published an investigation into the mismanagement of funds for port rehabilitation. The investigations would later lead to the resignation and arrest of then-Vice Chancellor Midori Saitou for fraud and embezzlement.

In Sigeta, the Communists and Democrats would merge after an agreement on party faction autonomy and the fight against corruption. This would ultimately lead to the People’s Party winning a supermajority in the parliamentary elections, which would lead to Attila Szabo being reconfirmed as president of the country, as well as his resignation from party leadership.

In Gondwana, a conflict between the Kaskadan Federation and Korćetta would erupt after the latter invaded the Federation. Following this, Stražsko declared war on Korćetta, which complicated the situation. Part of the conflict was resolved after the Security Council approved a plan originally proposed by Sigeta to create a demilitarized zone between Korćetta and the Kaskadan Federation.

Although the year 2025 was a turbulent one, the people managed to maintain their optimism.

PBC World - End-of-Year Conference
31 DECEMBER 2025

List of the main characters

Daniela Coliban - PBC World News Anchor - She/Her - Elven
Marian Hawker - PBC World Correspondent - He/Him - Orc
Maria Gelashvili - PBC World Correspondent - She/Her - Cava

[Coliban:] Dear viewers, welcome to the special edition of PBC World dedicated to the end-of-year conference organized by Limbo’s president, Hellen Portman. I am Daniela Coliban, and in direct contact I have my colleagues Marian Hawker and Maria Gelashvili.

The screen splits into two, with the first half showing the anchor and the other showing two correspondents inside a large room full of journalists, representatives of the society or just simple people that wish to attend the conference. There are barely any law enforcement officers in the room, if any.

[Coliban:] Can you tell us what it’s like there?

A pause of a few seconds.

[Gelashvili:] Good morning, Daniela, and good morning to the viewers. We are in the central pavilion of the Limexpo complex, and here, as you can see, there is a certain state of agitation, of expectation, especially on our part, the journalists.

[Hawker:] Although the conference is scheduled to start at 08:00, the first people arrived here around 06:00 to make the final preparations, and some of those attending arrived an hour ago, at 06:53. Although we are talking about an event where high-ranking state officials will be present, as you can see, the number of law enforcement officers present here is quite small.

[Gelashvili:] Yes. We spoke to a few people responsible for the event about this small detail, and they explained to us that the low police presence was a condition set by the president herself.

While the two reporters are talking, the camera pans inside the room, showing that there are only two officers inside, near a podium on which there are several chairs arranged in order.

[Coliban:] It was said these days that Dominic Grey and Steve Wilson would not participate.

Another short pause.

[Hawker:] Yes, there has been a lot of talk in the press that the two will not be attending the conference. Wilson, the leader of the Libertarians, has already stated in a post on social media that he will not be coming. The same goes for Dominic Grey, who is away in MSB.

[Gelashvili:] It is worth noting that some of the journalists came here with questions already prepared for the two. However, the number of those who will be attending the conference is quite large. We are talking about thousands of people who have come to listen and ask questions to those in power.

[Hawker:] In addition to journalists from here and abroad, representatives of civil society are also present, including leaders of trade unions and student and youth organizations, as well as civil rights organizations.

[Coliban:] I notice from the images we are transmitting that some of the guests are already starting to appear. Dear viewers, stay with us. The end-of-year conference will begin in a few moments.

The screen changes to images of the podium, and a countdown to 08:00 is added in the lower left corner. Some of the seats on the podium are already occupied. When the countdown clock hits 8:00 AM, the podium is already filled with state officials. A human woman, dressed in a professional suit takes a microphone and addresses the conference participants. Photojournalists and cameramen are trying their best to capture the entire event.

[Portman:] I would like to begin this event by thanking all the officials who accepted the invitation here, as well as the press and the public for coming to participate and most likely to ask questions. I wanted to organize this conference because, over the years, we have become accustomed to not receiving answers or explanations from those in power, and because it is our obligation to inform the citizens of this country. Thank you, again, for coming.

[Portman:] I will give the floor to the Prime Minister, and the order of the others will be according to the list published by the Presidential Administration.

Portman turns and sits back in her seat. From the chair next to her, an orcish man stands up and addresses the conference participants. The conference proceeds without incident, with each guest presenting the main projects and measures taken by the institutions they lead, as well as plans for the coming year.

Among the most important points (from the point of view of the national press) presented by senior state officials were: the reform of the Federal Gendarmerie and the replacement of pistols in the possession of police officers with stun guns; the implementation of progressive taxation of income, profits and wealth; measures against tax evasion; the nationalization of the Disprogaz company and large renewable energy projects; the rehabilitation of the already existing defense infrastructure; the rehabilitation of clinical centers in rural areas and the coverage by state insurance of abortion and mental health-related treatments; the implementation of the Federal Charity Program and the Federal Social Housing Strategy; investments in research and the rehabilitation of schools in rural areas; the opening of several branches of the Limboese Cultural Institute in other countries; the tightening of penalties for deforestation and pollution, the expansion of protected areas and support measures for small farmers; the differences between the current Constitution and the one to be drafted; the report on extremism at the federal level and the presentation of the situation regarding the former “Patriotic League” group; the situation regarding convictions in corruption cases; the Limbo’s foreign policy and the situation within the IF Security Council; the country’s economic situation and the decrease in inflation, as well as the appreciation of the Limboese leu; as well as other issues at the provincial level.

After several hours in which each guest presented each prepared point, as well as after several breaks, journalists are invited to ask questions. It is already 12:00.

A young human man stands up from the room and takes the microphone provided by a volunteer. He is holding a phone in his hand on which he has written down his questions.

[Constantin:] My name is Andrei Constantin, president of the Federation of Student Organizations in Limbo. I have prepared several questions for two guests. I will first address the Secretary of Education, Silvia Vocoț: what is the plan of the department you lead regarding student accommodation on university campuses? And the second question: what decision will be made regarding the situation of scholarships?

Secretary Silvia Vocoț, a Cava woman from the podium, takes her microphone.

[Vocoț:] I discussed a few months ago with the ministers of education at the provincial level, as well as with the rectors of state universities, and the decision was made that part of the expenses would be borne by the state budget, part by the provincial governments, part by the universities, all the projects being included in a single project carried out by the Federal Department of Culture, Education, Research and Youth in order to receive funding from UNAC money. In the case of university scholarships, the same decision was made, that is, to share the expenses, as well as to involve the private sector in the scholarship funds, until there is enough money in the state budget. And this was taken in order not to cut the scholarships, which are already quite low. But they will increase starting with January of next year.

[Constantin:] Thank you. And the next question is for Mr. Odobescu: as is known, in recent months there have been several nationwide protests against fascism, protests started by student organizations, during which 11 people died following an attack in Corova by a member of a fascist organization. The question is the following: what measures will the government that you lead take in the event that any party, which everyone certainly knows who it is, becomes dangerous for our freedom and well-being?

Odobescu sighs and thinks for a moment, before finally speaking in the microphone.

[Odobescu:] The Federal Government has no power over political parties. What we will do, if what you said were to happen, is to notify the competent institutions and demand that measures be taken against any such movements. The banning of political parties is done by the judiciary or by the Constitutional Court, if they are a danger to the constitutional order. If they are sponsored by foreign agents, or in more special cases, then yes, the Federal Government can directly take measures against such parties, with the risk that they will be attacked in court-

A human woman interrupts the Prime-Minister. It is the President of the Constituent Assembly, Alina Meyer.

[Meyer:] - excuse me for interrupting, Mr. Prime Minister. Taking into account the provisions proposed by the Constituent Assembly for the new constitution, the risk of the Constitutional Court not taking any action, or blocking the measures taken by the courts or the government, is eliminated.

Odobescu approves and points to Meyer. A moment of silence, as the young man returns to his seat. A Limboese orcish woman from the crowd of press journalists pushes through and addresses Federal Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy, Maria Tonova.

[Journalist:] Secretary Tonova! One of the largest conflicts this past year has been the Civil War in the Rao, with many nations choosing to aid certain sides in the war. Limbo has not yet made an official statement regarding the conflict, but with the recent ramping up of violence in the past few months, I was curious to hear what the Limboese government’s position is.

Tonova, an elven woman, takes her microphone and looks at the journalist.

[Tonova:] Starting in February of this year, we have been sending aid to the most affected areas. Here I am referring to food, medicine, clothing, basic hygiene products, which we were able to purchase with the help of charitable organizations within the Federal Charity Program. After that, through FAIDSA, the state sent these supplies, as well as aid workers. However, for almost three to four months, all our sapientarian efforts were blocked by the government of the Democratic Republic of the Rao, which forced us to look for alternative routes, because the aid was transported by the Air Force, and we cannot enter the airspace of another country with military equipment that has forbidden us to transit through their space. At least that is what happened in the case of the Danvreas, and we had to send the aid through Hausberg .Although I did not take any part in this conflict, I can tell you that the opinion of the Federal Government, at least mine, is one of disgust towards the indifference of those at the top of the Democratic Republic. And, just so you can imagine, I personally received a diplomatic telegram, apparently from the president of the so-called “Democratic” Republic, but I don’t know how real it was, in which I was asked to stop any transport of all sapientarian aid to Danvreas, otherwise “things would get complicated”.

[Reporter:] And, if there’s time, I’d also like to ask about the relationship between Limbo and Sigeta. The two states have been getting closer diplomatically since the turn of the century, and many are wondering if there are any specific plans regarding Limbo and Sigeta diplomatically in 2026.

Tonova thinks for a moment before addressing the reporter.

[Tonova:] There is no specific plan, other than respecting the memorandums signed with the Sigetan government, as well as continuing the current relations. We have nothing planned at the moment.

An orcish reporter, Marian Hawker, gets up from his seat, just as the other reporter was returning to hers.

[Hawker:] I’m Marian Hawker, from LBC Info. Still on the same topic about relations with Sigeta, but for the Governor of the Bank, Mr. Daniel Pleură: lately, in the press, there has been a rumor that a common currency with Sigeta is being planned. I ask you, Mr. Pleură, whether these rumors are true or not?

An older Cava man wearing glasses picks up his microphone and answers without a second thought.

[Pleură:] No. That idea was proposed at some point, but it remained at the idea stage. We will not be changing our currency anytime soon, and I’ll explain why. The leu is doing quite well, and changing it to another currency would mean throwing that progress out the window. Besides, changing the currency would be a headache for all of us.

In the following tens of minutes, several reporters take turns asking questions to state officials. An Norgsveltian half elven woman presses on next, dressed in fine expensive suit with her light blonde hair tied up into a pony tail. With her looking towards foreign secretary and the president.

[Reporter:] From the NNN here, I would like to ask Secretary Tonova and President Portman an related question to Gondwana. Alongside the Raonite Civil War and the conflict in Korcetta, there still the on going crisis in Salisar. Though an cease fire was brokered by the IF in 2024 between some forces involved, it has not been solved either. With increasing number nations even having recongised the self declared state of East Awawelat. Including fellow Security Council members Peragen and the Federation of Lapérouse. The NNN is curious what Limboese government’s position is on this matter, and if the increasing growth of recognition to this entity has made your government reconsider its recognition of this state. Especially with the increasing criticism being levied on the Salisian government’s policies on non-settler ethnic groups within their nation.

Tonova is first to speak.

[Tonova:] Just to be clear, I did not hold the position of Federal Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy at the time. But I spoke with the President about the likelihood of recognizing the East Awawelat. We also do not want to base our foreign policy on attitudes like “what they do, we do too”. And regarding the situation with Salisar, I’ve openly criticized the lack of reforms or measures aimed at eliminating the inequalities.

Portman then adds.

[Portman:] And, if I may add, recognizing a country is not an easy thing. The government has to propose this, which then has to be voted on in the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, then by the entire Senate, and only then comes the obligation of the President to promulgate or not the decision taken on recognition. Whether we will make this decision or not… is not yet 100% certain.

An elven man walked up next, being dressed an expensive suit made from Nyveldian Eagle, his short dark hair stopping at his shoulders having a small smile on his lips as he also looked towards the foreign secretary.

[Reporter:] Hi, Erik Timdhal from the Eyjarian News Network, I would like to ask Secretary Tonova a quick question, though I imagine this could also be matter for Secretary Avram to answer as well. But with the Limboese Republic turning to more renewable energy sources. Has the government been looking to establishing new partnerships to that end or does Limbo have the domestic resource supply to be largely self sufficient in this turn?

Both Tonova and Avram look at each other, before the latter looks back at the reporter to respond to him.

[Avram:] The truth is that Limbo does not have all the necessary resources for this, but two scenarios have been discussed in the government: either partnerships are formed with other states on this issue, or we reopen old mines in the eastern part of the country. We cannot build a sustainable future without raw materials. However, it is worth remembering that it will be something different from what has been practiced so far, that is, any exploitation will be done by the state, not by private contractors. This, of course, if the decision is made to restart mining operations in the country.

Tonova nods and shifts her gaze to the reporter.

[Tonova:] And in terms of partnerships with other states, that’s why the Convention was created. We hope that through this organization, as well as through membership in UNAC, we will be able to start this transition as quickly and seriously as possible. And here I don’t just mean us, but as many states as possible.

[Avram:] And one reason why the resumption of mining operations of interest here is being considered is to not depend too much on other states, and to not create this double standard that is like: we don’t want to mine because we destroy our ecosystems, so let’s destroy yours instead of ours.

The conference continues for a few more hours, with a few breaks. The event ends around 15:00, when the room starts to empty. The screen returns to the studio. A pause of a few seconds.

[Coliban:] This was the end-of-year conference organized at the request of President Hellen Portman, which lasted almost seven hours. In a few moments, my colleague Anca Dumitrache will talk about what was discussed at the event with political analyst and rector of the Center for Political Science, Elena Holeanu, as well as our correspondents present at the event, Marian Hawker and Maria Gelashvili. Thank you for staying with us. You will see me again tomorrow at 07:00 on the morning news. Have a beautiful day and a happy new year.

The broadcast ends, followed by advertising and a pre-recorded program that briefly presents the day’s events.

[POLITICS] Libertarians banned in several provinces. Wilson asks territorial leaders to challenge the decisions.

The Libertarian Party has been caught off guard after several provincial courts ruled to deregister the party’s branches from the provincial registers of political parties. In a social media post, Steve Wilson, the leader of the Libertarians, called on all provincial branch leaders of the party to challenge the decisions, adding that they are “just an attempt by those in power to intimidate us.”

In Severigea, the Corova Tribunal made the decision after several complaints were filed against the Libertarian Party following the tragedy of September 20 last year. The decision to deregister the party from the Provincial Register of Political Parties was only made public last night.

In Sticlari Island, this decision was made after several controversial statements by the party branch leader, Ionel Alexandrescu, praising the League leader Sorin Miculea, while also insulting the martyrs of the 1986 revolution. The decision has already been appealed to the Sticlari Court of Appeal, which ruled against the Libertarians.

In Fomalhaut, the party has already been banned both by court decision and by a decision proposed by Chancellor Karl Adler.

In Viștenia, the Libertarians could face similar problems. The Matrolinsk Tribunal has already announced the start of the trial, and if it decides to deregister the party, the Libertarian Party could lose its largest branch in the country. This scenario is also repeated in Călifăret, Costeleni, and the Halmeu and South Grivița Islands.

[INTERNAL] Portman approved the nationalization of Disprogaz. LegaPetro, taken by surprise by the executive's decision.

President Hellen Portman signed the project on the nationalization of the remaining shares of the gas and oil company Disprogaz from LegaPetro earlier this week. After the project was published in the Official Gazette, she organized a press conference at the Dumbrăveni Palace.

“Starting today, the company Disprogaz will come under state control. I understand the anxiety related to the possible effects of this decision and that is why I come before you. To begin with, it should be pointed out that Disprogaz, formerly Royal Blue Petroleum, was abusively privatized in the 1950s by a government that suspended the constitution. Because of this, there were no constitutional provisions regarding the administration of the state’s natural resources. Also, after 1992, the government bought 55% of the company’s shares after an agreement with the company LegaPetro. For several months, the government has been trying to reach a new agreement on the acquisition of all the shares of Disprogaz, but without success. That is why this decision to nationalize the company was taken.”

Disprogaz is currently under interim management imposed by the Federal Agency for State Cooperatives, with the government being in negotiations with union representatives in the company to organize internal elections for the Board of Directors.

There is currently no official reaction from LegaPetro.

[INTERNAL] The Council of Ministers of Sigeta has decided to stop all direct travel to and from Packilvania. Sigetan citizens, advised to leave the Sultanate.

The People’s Democratic Council of Sigeta has adopted a decision proposed by the Council of Ministers to completely ban all travel between the small island state and Packilvania. This decision came into effect at the beginning of last week.

Experts say that Sigeta seems to have changed its foreign policy towards Packilvania in recent years. At first by joining Eastern Yasterian Economic Sphere, then by gradually closing most of the consulates on the Sultanate’s territory. Internal sources state that the Sigetan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is proposing a reassessment of the attitude towards the Tarseen Republic and its recognition as Free Pax States territory.

[INTERNAL] New plan to replace foreign tech services with domestic ones. Rădoi: 'It's a matter of national security'.

Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Secretary of the Interior, Maria Rădoi, stated yesterday at a press conference organized in Hexagon, that she urged her colleagues in the cabinet, as well as the heads of state institutions, to switch from the platforms currently used to others developed by organizations or individuals in our country. She clarified that, for the time being, this is only a recommendation.

“I also spoke with the other secretaries in the government, as well as with some of the heads of state agencies, regarding the possibility of using IT platforms developed on the territory of Limbo instead of the ones used now. I recommended this to avoid embarrassing situations like the one in 2016, the well-known Hexagongate, where several files of the Federal Department of Defense were leaked from a database located in a completely different country (…) I believe that data from public institutions, especially those of a sensitive nature, should remain here, in the country, because it is still a matter of national security. We were lucky that inventory files were leaked then, and not classified ones.”

According to the document made public by Rădoi to the press, if such a decision is made, priority will be given to the intelligence services and the army, followed by institutions that process personal and banking data.

[INTERNAL] Government wants to revitalize the mining industry. More mines, soon reopened for exploitation.

The Federal Government published this afternoon a plan to revitalize the country’s mining industry. According to this plan, the current mines will remain open until the resources are exhausted, with the mention that the coal mines will be closed gradually. Also, mining operations and processing will be carried out only by the state, with the surplus to be sold.

To reassure environmental experts, the government specified that the exploitation of natural resources will be done mainly to cover demand and reduce dependence on resource imports, and green energy programs will not be stopped. Analysts hope that through this plan, the authorities will manage to add more money to the state budget.

[POLITICS] Populists postpone party congress for leadership election until after the new constitution is finalized.

Gabi Andreescu, the interim Secretary General of the Limboese People’s Party, said during an interview that the congress to elect the party’s new leadership would be postponed until after the Constituent Assembly finishes drafting the new constitution. In the same broadcast, he was asked if this delay was designed to accommodate a potential candidacy by President Hellen Portman for party leadership if the new constitution allows her to be part of a political party as president of the country.

"It’s not about giving any advantage to certain people in the race for the party leadership. But here we are talking about giving our colleagues in the Constituent Assembly time to do their job, because at the moment they are civil servants first, then members of the party, so I don’t want to limit their work with the stress of a party congress.

Besides, they are also members of the party, and I think that they should also have the right to an opinion in the congress. Also, I didn’t speak to the President at all except once at the end of last year. So it’s just a simple postponement, nothing more."

Sources inside the LPP stated that plans are being made, among other things, to reintroduce the right of persons holding the presidency to be part of a political party at the same time in order to respect their right to association.

[INTERNAL] Potential referendum in early spring. Meyer: 'Most of the new constitution has been drafted.'

The Constituent Assembly’s work may soon end, after the assembly’s president Alina Meyer declared in a press conference that much of the new constitution has been drafted.

"I would like to inform you that the drafting of the new constitution is approximately 73% complete. Here we are referring to parts of the constitution that did not require changes, especially those related to local administration and administrative-territorial units. I would also like to remind you that there are also provincial constitutions, which will also be amended by Provincial Constituent Assemblies that will be formed according to the results of the elections of 7 September 2025 in each province.

There are also certain parts of the current proposal that will most likely be voted on in a referendum due to the lack of consensus within the majority in the Assembly on these issues. As for the date when the Constituent Assembly will finalize the drafting of the new constitution and when the referendum on its adoption will take place, the most likely period is the beginning of March, at the latest in June."

As for the parts of the proposed constitution that, according to Meyer’s intervention a few hours ago, will be voted on the same day as the referendum for the adoption of the new constitution, they would include: the constitutional ban on fascist and ligarchist organizations, the complete ban on nuclear weapons, and the allocation of the right to be part of a political party to persons holding the presidential mandate (considered by some experts to be a proposal made with dedication to President Hellen Portman). Among other things, it is speculated that during the referendum there will also be a vote for or against the organization of new legislative elections.

[INTERNAL] The issue of Disprogaz's nationalization continues. The Federal Government is preparing for a potential lawsuit against last year's decision.

The Federal Secretary of Economic Affairs, Poe Creangă, declared yesterday evening in an interview with LBC Info that the department he heads is prepared in case the company LegaPetro wants to challenge last year’s government decision to nationalize its shares in Disprogaz and that he hopes, however, that this will not happen.

“We are prepared for a potential trial at the Corinești Tribunal, or at the one in Matrolinsk… It does not matter where in the country such a trial will take place, because I know that the department I am responsible for is capable of representing the state in such a trial. I hope, however, that it will not end up with the other side delaying the trial, or better yet, that it will not end up with a trial at all. We have come up with offers after offers, but they have been rejected, and I believe that if they have not wanted to cooperate with us so far, then we will not cooperate at all. However, this is my personal opinion.”

We recall that on December 20, last year, the Federal Secretary of Development, Sara Avram, officially proposed the nationalization of Disprogaz, in a plan conceived together with Poe Creangă. Currently, the company is undergoing a broad process of restructuring and change of management.

[POLITICS] Libertarians don't want a referendum. Wilson: 'Communists want to take control of the country.'

Libertarian leader Steve Wilson was the first to come out in front of the press with a reaction after the executive’s announcement regarding the referendum that will take place at the beginning of next month.

Wilson: “This referendum does not bring any advantage to the people. Moreover, it is a big slap in the face to the last decades of economic growth in the country. Not only will we remain permanently without the only security guarantee that we had until now, but it will mark the beginning of a new dictatorial regime that will prohibit any patriotic and sovereignist movement in the country. It is not as if the current government has not tried to destroy the only real opposition in the country. We have seen how the current government led by Odobescu, who in turn is following the orders given by Portman. In conclusion, I ask our voters not to show up to the polls on 5 April.”

Wilson refused to specify how the opposition is being “destroyed” when asked, but he reacted in a hostile manner to our colleague, Maria Feleac.

Journalist: “Are you somehow referring to that portion that will be voted on in the referendum regarding the banning of right-wing extremist organizations? I mean that proposal that was made after the tragedy in Cor-”

Wilson: “Which editorial office are you from? Oh, the one paid by the communists. I understand you like money from the communists, ma’am?”

A few hours ago, Prime Minister Odobescu came up with a reaction to Steve Wilson’s statements posted on his Novus account.

“The opposition is not “destroyed” in any way by the Federal Government, nor is Limbo’s economic development. Any measure taken was taken to improve the lives of all citizens, and not just the relatives or close associates of the leaders of any party, as was seen to have happened from 2006 to 2024. Also, a neutral and peaceful country is always an ideal place for refugees, who will be able to contribute to the development of the country, as well as for investors. I would also like to clarify that I do not receive “orders” from the president, but I follow the advice of experts from state institutions and civil society. I believe that I, as well as my colleagues in the government, have been as transparent as possible towards the people, but especially respectful towards the press, which has the duty to inform the population in an objective way. The same cannot be said about you, Mr. Steve Wilson, who offended a public television journalist in front of the cameras. This hostility towards the press not affiliated with your party that you display alongside other party colleagues has no place in public space, especially in the building of a public institution.”

[POLITICS] Referendum, bone of contention for the Civics. Some members call for Grey's removal from party leadership.

Several leaders of the provincial branches of the Limboese Civic Union are publicly calling for Dominic Grey to resign from the party leadership after their failure in the elections for the Constituent Assembly last year, as well as for the low support of the party in the latest opinion polls.

The presidents of the branches in Costeleni (Dan Gheorghescu), Viștenia (Andreea Firicel), Croieni (Maricel Popa), Corinești (Diana Peperan) and Sticlari (Ion Tălmaciu) have drawn attention to the fact that, since Odobescu was dismissed from the party leadership in February 2025, support for him has decreased sharply. Diana Peperan was the second favorite after Grey for the party leadership, but lost by a margin of 68 votes.

She, as well as other party colleagues, were among the only members who did not respect the rule of voting against the proposals made by the United Popular Front in the Legislative Assembly in Corinești.

In addition, there is also a group of party members, led by the president of the Fomalhaut branch of the Civic Union, who are calling for a similar attitude to the referendum to be adopted by the libertarians. They say that a large-scale boycott of the referendum could lead to the proposed constitution not being implemented. Grey, however, told a press conference that he was advising party supporters to vote as they see fit, not wanting to associate the party with the far-right.

Dominic Grey has so far not reacted to the growing opposition within his party to his leadership.

[INTERNAL] The Defense Forces could develop new military technologies. Jones: 'Research is also needed in defense.'

Federal Secretary of Defense, Teodor Jones, was present at the site of the future Federal Institute for Defense Research and Development in Granimon, where he made several statements regarding future investments in the field.

"We are here, at the location of a future defense research and development institute, the second such institute, after the one in Corinești, and the first built in decades. We see how the world has been shaken by conflicts in recent years, but what we can conclude from these years is that neutrality is not always a total guarantee for peace. This could be seen in 2016-2017, when Ethalria refused to sign the non-aggression pact right before the Auroran-Cerenerian War.

What I want to point out is that the current military infrastructure is in a deplorable state and needs to be modernized. And this includes the current weaponry, which needs improvements. That is why this project was started, because research is also necessary in defense, otherwise we will remain dependent on other nations for progress.

Other projects include the modernization of military schools and academies, military bases and dormitories that serve the aforementioned; rehabilitation and reactivation of military infrastructure that was abandoned after 1986, which includes factories and military bases, as well as air defense bases; modernization of military hospitals and, finally, salary increases for active personnel, as well as bonuses for reservists."

Jones stated that the roads and railways connecting the main points of interest will be modernized by the Federal Development Department. For part of these projects, approval of the application for non-refundable funds from UNAC is expected.

[EXTERNAL] Portman announces plans for the CIN. What will she propose at the next summit in Beiras?

Just one year after the founding of the CIN, President Portman already has big plans for the new international organization, according to a statement published by the Presidential Administration. An interparliamentary assembly that should synchronize the work of the legislatures of the member states, a council of ministers, and a new development bank are listed among the proposals for the Convention.

According to the statement, the first two listed should be created only with the unanimous consent of all members. Each member state will receive 20 seats in the interparliamentary assembly, which should reflect the political composition of the legislatures of the member states.

As for the development bank, the government would contribute to its core fund through the Federal Export-Import Bank and Limbank, and states with observer status or from outside the CIN could also join.

Hellen Portman is due to leave soon for Beiras, where she will participate in the second summit of the Convention.

[POLITICS] LPP and SN leaderships sign agreement to form new organization. What does it consist of?

Today, Gabi Andreescu, the interim secretary general of the Limboese People’s Party (LPP), and Irina Bartha, the secretary general of the Sigetan People’s Party (SN), signed in Corova the agreement to form a new political organization to be formed between the two parties.

According to the document signed by the two dignitaries, the new organization will be called the Democratic Confederal People’s Party (DCPP) and will behave as a political party, while the two parties will act as its “branches”. The agreement was previously accepted by the standing committees of the two political parties.

In addition to the change in graphic identity, the organizations affiliated with the parties will merge, including the expert group, as well as the student and youth organizations. At the moment, there has been no negative reaction to this decision from the members of the LPP, or from any party in the United Popular Front.

[INTERNAL] Government considers restrictions on oil and gas exports. Avram: 'We can't give our oil for nothing.'

Federal Secretary of Development, Sara Avram, presented a bill at a press conference aimed at imposing new conditions for exporting gas and oil to other countries. Among the measures are limits on the amount that can be purchased under normal circumstances or which currencies can be used.

According to Avram, oil companies could export up to 80% of the entire annual production from Limbo, without the profit generated by the sale of Limboese oil and gas being taxed. The bill, which was submitted to the Federal Senate’s Development Policy Committee, increases the percentage of oil and gas that must be kept in the country from 20% to 40%, which will have to be sold on the domestic energy market.

Avram: "This bill will basically force companies to sell around 40% of what they extract or produce on the country’s territory on the domestic energy market, and the rest can be exported.

It is also worth noting that if they want to continue operating in the country, they will have to declare their profits generated from the sale of petroleum products whose raw material originates in Limbo. This obligation is imposed for the correct imposition of corporate taxes.

I decided to propose these measures because, so far, we have not received any oil or gas from here, nor any money. And from my point of view, we cannot give our oil and gas for nothing."

The bill also stipulates that the sale of oil, gas, gasoline or diesel fuel from Limbo be made only in lei (LON) and forints (SIF) for all buyers, with the possibility that CIN member countries will be allowed to pay in their own currencies, and only UNAC member countries will be able to pay with kirib (KRB). At the moment, red crowns (RKR), united crowns (UKR), dollars (SHD), dinars (PXD) and Qíle (NLQ) can also be used.

Sara Avram stated that the second part of the bill will not be put to the vote of the Federal Senate unless the conflict with LegaPetro over the ownership of Disprogaz goes beyond the court. Prime Minister Alexandru Odobescu stated that his cabinet has analyzed several scenarios, including the possibility that the Cukish government will act politically.

[INTERNAL] Meeting between Vocoț and provincial education ministers after the publication of the results of the baccalaureate exam simulation.

Federal Secretary for Culture, Education, Research and Youth Silvia Vocoț met with provincial education ministers to discuss potential measures to help high school students pass the baccalaureate exam, after the results of this year’s mock baccalaureate exam were released, showing the lowest pass rate in two decades, at just 48%.

The meeting comes after Vocoț spoke yesterday with representatives of education trade unions, student organizations and experts. She said the poor results were a result of poor governance before 2025, when education was consistently underfunded, receiving less than 5% of gross domestic product.

According to a joint statement published this afternoon, a federal tutoring program for all high school students is being considered, funded from both the federal and provincial budgets. Salary increases for teachers who will be involved in tutoring sessions, a measure proposed by education trade unions, are also being considered.

Some polling stations have been closed, especially those in rural and small urban areas, while those in large cities have extended their hours due to long queues. The counting and centralization of votes from the already closed stations is currently awaited.

Voter turnout has already reached 75.3%.

[UPDATE 18:00]

The Federal Communications Agency reported that it had received over 12,000 reports regarding the publication or distribution of electoral material during the vote. According to sources within the institution, politicians from the Libertarian Party were among the culprits.

An ambulance was called to the polling station in Lunca Pietroasa, Ghiorot, after a 68-year-old woman reportedly fainted in front of the .

A police team was also called to the polling station in the “Mihai Păsăroi” Theoretical High School in Orfeu after a man allegedly wanted to fight with volunteers at the station. He was arrested for violence.

Voter turnout, at the moment, has reached 62.8%.

[UPDATE 14:00]

Prime Minister Alexandru Odobescu also voted, more precisely in Iasonvil. He also gave a few brief statements to the press, both about the referendum and other topics.

“I went to vote today for a safer and more prosperous future for our country and its citizens. I would like to urge everyone in the country to go to the polls, because this is a right guaranteed to them by the constitution and it would be a shame for the future of the country to be decided by a small part of the population with the right to vote. That’s all I have to say. If you have any questions…”

[Reporter:] What is known about the situation with Disprogaz, currently Limgaz?

“Limgaz is and will remain under state management, period. Of course, with the mention that decisions are made with the consent of the workers within the cooperative. If LegaPetro decides to sue the state for their failure in the negotiations before the nationalization decision was made, that is strictly their problem.”

[Reporter:] And if another state gets involved in this conflict?

“I believe that Mrs. Avram has specified what measures will be taken if this situation comes out of the legal-economic sphere of Limbo. In any case, we do not have a close commercial relationship with very many states, but many foreign people have used our country as a refuge for their wealth throughout history. So, if any government is thinking, without pointing fingers, of taking “measures” against our country, I would advise them to think twice.”

[Reporter:] There was also talk of a potential candidacy for the leadership of the People’s Party. How true is that?

“I’m not sure about a candidacy yet, but anything is possible. We’ll see what happens after the referendum, what decisions they will make in the party, and maybe after.”

[Reporter:] Regarding defense financing, considering that the state budget for 2026 provides for an increase in the money allocated to defense, can we talk about a potential rearmament of Limbo?

“No, it is not about rearmament. We are talking strictly about the rehabilitation and modernization of the existing infrastructure, which includes military educational units, dormitories, military bases, including the reconfiguration, so to speak, of the former bases responsible for nuclear weapons that have already been disarmed, as well as the construction of defense research and development institutions. Of course, the time will come, at some point, to purchase modern weapons and equipment, but in this case, too, the reopening of former military factories is planned. But each thing in its own time.”

Voter turnout reached 48.7%

[UPDATE 11:00]

President Hellen Portman has already voted. She and her wife went to the polling station in the “Ștefan Pagoda” National College in Corinești. She made a few statements after leaving the polling station.

“I urge all Limboese citizens to vote, because such a big change should not take place without the consent of the people. As for my voting intention, I will not disclose it to the press, because it is prohibited by law. I only hope that those who come to vote do so on their own initiative and vote with full knowledge of the facts, not because a certain choice is more popular or because ‘someone told me so’.”

[Reporter:] Regarding the proposal to allow presidents to remain members of a political party even during their term, there are some rumors that this was made for you. Is that true?

“I did not ask for such a proposal at all. And besides, I did not speak to anyone who was in the Assembly and proposed articles in the new constitution, except the president, Mrs. Meyer, and the prime minister, but only about organizing the vote. That’s all.”

[Reporter:] If the proposal passes, are you thinking of returning to the old party (LPP)?

“Now, in the most realistic way possible, the party has been under interim leadership since 2024, when I resigned from the position of general secretary. If, and I emphasize if, the proposal passes with over 60% of the votes in favor and with over 65% attendance, then I will think about it. But I can’t say for sure.”

[Reporter:] Regarding UNAC, there has been speculation that Shimajiro, a member of CIN, could submit an application for membership. What do you think?

“I can tell you one thing and only one thing for sure: I had some productive conversations with Chancellor Sayuri Fujimura on this issue, but I will not make a decision on it until I have all the points of view in front of me. Here I am referring not only to their point of view, but also to the one of the other leaders within UNAC, of the leaders of our parties, of experts and so on.”

[Reporter:] Also on foreign policy: do you agree with the attitude taken by the Federal Government towards LegaPetro?

“Just to be clear, I signed that project for the nationalization of Disprogaz. Any law voted in the Federal Senate normally passes through my desk. So clearly, from the start, I agree with this attitude.”

Voter turnout reached 32.4%.

Today, at 7:00, the polling stations throughout Limbo opened for the referendum. In order to enter the polling station, you must have your identity card or passport with you.

If you are in your home town, you can only go to vote at the station to which you are assigned. To find out which station you are assigned to, use the electoral register (reg.fec.lb). In case you are outside your home town, you can vote at any polling station on additional lists.

The creation and distribution of electoral materials, as well as the chanting of electoral slogans or the incitement to vote in a certain way are prohibited and punishable by law. Recording or photographing already stamped ballot papers for publication in the public domain is strictly prohibited and punishable by law.

If you observe online publications, television, radio stations or individuals (through social networks) violating the provisions of the electoral laws (those specified above), please notify the Federal Communications Agency.

In the event of incidents, contact the competent authorities (police, ambulance, fire department).

Only one person is allowed to enter the voting booth, with the exception of people with certain mobility disabilities.

For the vote to be considered valid, the stamp must be placed inside the box with the desired choice (YES or NO). The box must not be stamped more than once. The stamp must not cover the text with the desired choice or go outside its box. No inscriptions or marks may be made on the ballot paper.

[POLITICS] Opposition demands recount of votes. Grey: 'There is a suspicion that the referendum was rigged.'

After the publication of the referendum results, the leaders of the opposition parties reportedly met yesterday evening to devise a new plan to cancel, or at least delay, the implementation of the referendum changes. Their leaders went together to the Constitutional Court to file a request for a recount of all ballot papers.

Dominic Grey: “Today, we have put aside our animosity to formally request a recount of all votes because there is a suspicion that the referendum was rigged. We are referring to a possible violation of the electoral code.”

Asked what kind of irregularities are suspected, none of the opposition leaders gave any clear examples.

Steve Wilson: “This is not a single irregularity, but several problems in the entire electoral process. We can talk about vote manipulation by the government and, why not, not just the government.”

The Constitutional Court is expected to rule on this case by Friday.

[POLITICS] Former Labour Alliance councillors accuse the leadership for having secret meetings. Almassy: 'It's not my fault that you have been brainwashed.'

Four former members of the Labor Alliance criticized today, during the plenary session of the Legislative Council of Fehérőd , the party leader, Michelle Almassy, for having secretly met with politicians and businessmen from abroad. This comes after the party lost for the third time in a row last year in the regional elections, as well as after several councilors left the party.

Sovány: “I would like to clarify that I did not leave my former party because I was already elected to the council. And the same applies to the other former colleagues who left the same party. Mrs. Almassy, when are you going to report on the meetings with officials and businessmen from abroad? Or about your ‘unofficial’ trips outside of vacation periods?”

After the statements of Csaba Sovány, former LA member, the statements of Almassy followed, whose time had to be shortened by the council president, Márta Gergely.

Almassy: “In my defense, I have never been abroad on any ‘unofficial’ visits, as Mr. Sovány stated, nor have I had secret meetings with anyone. Csaba, it is not my fault that you were brainwashed, but I will never accept such lies about me appearing in the public space, especially in a state institution. And if we keep throwing accusations at each other, then tell us who paid you to leave the party? Or rather, what did they promise you-”

Gergely: “Please stop accusing one or the other, because we are not in the market. If you have nothing else to say, Mrs. Councilor Almassy, then I invite you to return to your seats.”

[POLITICS] Constitutional Court rejects opposition's request for recount of votes. There are no concrete evidence of fraud.

The Constitutional Court has published, after a five-day delay, its decision on the opposition’s request for a recount of all votes. According to the decision, the CCLR ruled that there was no concrete evidence to prove that the referendum had been rigged.

"On 15 April 2026, upon the application filed on 08 April 2026 by the undersigned D.G., S.W. and E.I., the Constitutional Court of the Limboese Republic decided to reject the application for a recount of all votes cast during the aforementioned referendum.

The Court draws attention to the fact that, according to independent observers of the referendum held on 5 April 2026, the process was considered to be completely democratic and fair.

The Court considers the evidence presented in the application to be null and void. As regards the claim regarding vote manipulation, it must be maintained that all opinions on the issues raised by the referendum could be freely debated in the national media. Also, both sides (those in favour or against) were sanctioned equally by the competent authorities.

The decision is final and generally binding."

Dominic Grey, leader of the Civics, criticized the CCRL decision on social media.

“Today’s decision by the Constitutional Court shows the true face of the current government: no institution is safe as long as the Populists are in power, and the powers in the state are less and less separated than before.”

In response, Alina Meyer criticized Grey’s attitude in another post:

“It’s funny how the current Government is blamed for the CCRL decision, when your former party was the one who filled it with loyal judges.”

[POLITICS] Fewer parties in the future: the Agrarians are talking about a possible merger with the Populists, and the Libertarians want to refound PROLIB.

The Central Committee of the Agrarian Party met to discuss a possible merger with the People’s Party, after the latter spoke about the possible formation of the Democratic Confederal People’s Party, within which several autonomous factions could be formed. Some experts believe that Ileana Vântur is considering such a scenario in the hope of receiving a position in the Standing Committee of the new party.

Meanwhile, the Thaerist Democratic Union could merge with the Labor Party, especially since the party lost most of its members after last year’s protests and the flight of its former leader, Bertha Neumann, from the country.

A change could also take place on the right, after the leaderships of the Libertarian Party and the Prosperity Party met to discuss a refoundation of PROLIB as a political party.

At the moment, there is no permanent decision from the parties, but this could change at any time

[POLITICS] The United Popular Front, meeting in Corova. Reform of the alliance, on the discussion table.

The leaders of the United Popular Front met today in Corova to discuss the next steps for the alliance, before the executive decides on the date of the next parliamentary elections. Currently, in addition to the possible merger between the Agrarian Party and the Limboese People’s Party, as well as between the Thaerist Democratic Union and the Labor Party, there is talk of another possible merger between the Limboese People’s Party and the Sigetan People’s Party. At the same time, there is speculation about a possible candidacy of President Hellen Portman for the leadership of the party.

Among other topics discussed is the electoral program that the alliance will promise to the electorate. Sources within the Limboese People’s Party have stated that a massive development program, called “Limbo 2050”, is being prepared, which will aim to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and imports, as well as facilitate the transition to renewable energy sources.

It has also been proposed within the alliance to create a binational united front containing both Limbo and Sigeta organizations. This proposal, however, has not yet been confirmed.

[POLITICS] Opposition files motion of no-confidence. Wilson: 'The current government cannot be considered democratic.'

The opposition in the Federal Senate has filed a motion of no-confidence against Odobescu’s cabinet. In the over 100-page document, submitted to the Senate President, Dochia Petre, the opposition accuses the government of disregarding democratic values, politicizing state institutions and democratic regression.

In an interview for PBC Info, Libertarian leader Steve Wilson stated that, if it does not pass, the motion will become “a symbol of resistance.”

Wilson: “The current government cannot be considered democratic, and this is the truth. They have made sure that the opposition remains powerless, so that they do not have any obstacles. We hope that the other senators will realize the problems of the current government and vote with us. Political opinion does not matter in this vote, at least from my point of view. However, if the motion does not pass the plenary vote, then this effort will become a symbol of resistance to those in power.”

The plenary session in which the censure motion will be debated is scheduled to take place in three days.
