OOC: Sorry about the triple posts. My computer was acting up and it was not saying that I had posted what I did.

Lena laughed. “Red tape. Can’t live with it, and bureaucrats can’t live without it.” She smiled. “Well, I have to go now. See you both later. I have to go to the library to do some research. Ella, give me a call. I was thinking of going to get hamburgers tonight to eat in our dorm room.”

She kissed Ella on the cheek before heading off to the library.

OOC: I hope that’s okay.

Ella was slightly embarrassed by the kiss on the cheek but quickly regained her composure when Sha’la coughed to get her attention.
“Well,” Sha’la began, “If you don’t have anything else to say, I need to get back to my work.”
“Oh…OH! Of course! I’ll see you later Sha’la!”

Ella left Sha’la’s office and headed down the hall to her next class. The class was an excessively boring recitation that she was only attending because it was marked as a compulsory class on her timetable and attendance was taken. She struggled to stay awake throughout, it was that boring…[hr]“Sha’la? You there?”

Sha’la looked up from her desk to find Nee’la at the door.
“Oh hello. What can I do for you now?”
“Nothing much. Just letting you know I heard back from the hospital. It seems Sah’mahn’th has recovered from her catatonic episode. Sort of.”
“How do you mean ‘sort of’?”
“The resident psychiatrist looked at her and diagnosed her with a severe case of PTSD.”
“Oh shoot…I knew it was bad but…that bad?”
“Yeah. She isn’t exactly in a fit state to be back in a place of study at all. We aren’t sure what has triggered it off but it is bad. I can’t say much more than that due to patient confidentiality and all that. What I can say is that she is in a really bad way.”

Sha’la nodded.
“OK. Should I notify her next of kin?”
“That’s the other problem. She doesn’t seem to have any. I’ve looked into her background further and strangely enough, I can’t seem to find any details about her family. She only seems to be living with some foster guardian and even their records are sealed.”
“Strange…OK. Leave it with me. I’ll pull up some favours and see what happens.”
“Thanks Sha’la.”

Nee’la left the office as Sha’la started typing furiously on her computer.

Lena studied and took notes from a couple of books. She was doing a paper on nanotechnology and biomechanical systems and how they could be used to help restore damaged organs. It was for the class with the creepy professor. Lena stopped for a moment. “Come to think of it, he did give me a strange look.” She shrugged. She soon finished and headed back to her dorm room. She called Sha’la, wondering if she wanted to hang out with her and Ella later and eat hamburgers in Ella’s and Lena’s room. It went to voicemail. “Hi Sha’la. I was wondering if you would like to–Hey who are you? Let me go! I-mmmrphh!”

Lena’s cell phone fell to the ground, the voicemail did recording the struggle. “Let’s take her back to her room.”

“Just remember to put her in that big bag, so no one can see us.”

“Oh man, we are so going to get laid!”

“Shut up! I want to take pictures of her for a ‘special’ website!”

Lena woke up, dazed. She tried to open her mouth, only to discover she was gagged. A strip of cloth was forced into her mouth. She was devoid of all of her clothes except for her underwear. She was tied up, her arms tied behind her back. “Remember to tie her up good and tight,” one of her attackers said.

She glared at him and his buddies. She wished she knew who they were, but they were wearing ski masks. “Okay. Say cheese in gag talk, tramp.” The others laughed softly so not to be heard by the others. They had locked the door to make sure no disturbed them.

“Come on guys, let’s get wild with her.”

“Shut up. You want everyone to hear us. We got to have fun before the real fun begins.”

OOC: Uh-oh. Lena’s friends better hurry!

Everett had been quite busy for past few weeks studying his justice classes, he was excelling quite well in them despite his solitary nature on campus. He saw this as a pro more than he saw it as a con, it allowed him to remain relatively unknown while monitoring things going on around the campus. He liked to watch people, not perversely like others did, but for comedic effect. People where weird, they acted weird and did funny things in plain sight when they think nobody will notice them, crowds never provide the anonymity most people think they do. He learned a lot about how people interacted with others in social situations, things a prospective detective would need to learn so he could read people easier.

Studying on park benches around the campus during the day and evening allowed him to accomplish this while remaining relatively invisible to the hurried world around him. Even if his physical attributes made him stand out from the crowd, people tended to miss even the most obvious changes around them if they were preoccupied like most people where at all times of the day. It helped pass time and keep him calm and focused on his studies. Sometimes he imagined seeing something wrong and perhaps preventing a crime or maybe even solving a ongoing mystery, opportunities never presented themselves like that, but a man could dream.

Though sometimes dreams do come true. Everett suddenly noticed something strange. Men carrying a large bag hurriedly entered the dorm buildings as he sat on the bench with his books, they spoke in hushed tones and all around looked suspicious. They carried the bag that they had taken out of a van. Everett took his books and stuffed them into his bag and began to walk over to the other side of the street They paid no attention to him and he made it seem like he paid none to them, they were dressed as maintenance men and most likely felt the disguise was good enough. However, everything seemed wrong to him, perhaps they were just taking out trash, but what trash bag was that big? He could not answer the question well enough to satisfy his suspicions. He looked up at the lights of the building, wondering what they could be going in for. A light suddenly turned off in a room on the upper floors, in what seemed like the time it would take for somebody walking up that fast would get there.

Everett decided to take his bag and go into the dorm and see what they were doing, if he peaked on them and saw they were just maintenance guys then he would just walk to his dorm on the other side and call it a day, if not, he had yet to figure out what he would do then. The dorms were quiet for the most part, people where in classes or attending other school functions, Everett quietly walked up the steps and into the hallway, not far behind the men who had gone up a minute earlier. He could hear hushed voices coming down the hallway and then the sound of a door closing behind somebody. as he walked closer to where the sound of the closing door originated he could hear giggling and laughing sounding like they had come from male voices. He put his ear on the door he thought he had heard and listened quietly. He could hear a hungry sounding voice from inside, though the words were muffled by the door followed by what sounded like a hushed reprimand. Two male voices so far, he checked the door handle by jiggling it softly. It was locked.

Everett stepped away from the door and pondered what he should do. Perhaps he should knock? Maybe walk away? The thoughts raced in his head. Breaking down the door sounded good and it would be easy for him to do, but if it turned out to be nothing he could get in real trouble. Everett opted to knock on the door, if it was nothing, no harm no foul, he would just say he had gotten the wrong room. If it was something then the men were trapped, he hoped they were not armed.

KNOCKKNOCKKNOCK

The sound of his knuckles on the door echoed through the hallway…

The men heard the knocking. “Dude! We are so screwed.”

“Shut. Just make sure she’s quiet.”

“Okay—OUCH!” Lena had chewed through the cloth and bit the man’s hand…hard enough to draw blood.

“WHEN I GET OUT OF THESE ROPES, YOU PERVERTED SOBS ARE SO GOING TO GET IT!”

Lena kicked the man in crotch. “OH GOD! She kicked me in the nuts!”

“Hey, what’s all of the commotion?” A security guard had walked up to Everett. “What on earth? Here, help me get this door opened.”

Everett and the guard began to force the door open while the other men tried to brace it, while one them, was forced to deal with an angry female lobo. Lena was cursing in Lobonese.

Everett had the guard step back as he stood arms length from the braced door. He balled his synthetic hand into a fist and punched through the wooden door into the face of one of the men standing behind it. The door itself had splintered into their bodies and caved in at the force of the punch. Everett and the security guard pushed their way in as the guard took a moment to smack the other man who had avoided having his face destroyed in the assault with his baton. Seconds passed as Everett saw the third man recover from being kicked in the nuts and turn to face him.

“Hey man. I just wanted to get laid! Not worth going to jail for it.” He tried to run past both the guard and Everett, but Lena kicked in the jaw. “That’s for the damn photos, punk!”

“Damn it! That girl sure can kick,” the security guard said. He began to cuff the three men.

“Okay, can someone please untie me!” The guard and Everett both untied her. “Thanks.” She grabbed her clothes and went into the bathroom. She came back out with her clothes on. She stopped for a moment to stomp on one of the men’s crotches.

“Ouch,” the guard whispered to Everett.

The guard had radioed a few other guards to help him take the three would-be perverts off. He listened to the radio. “Head of security wants to see you, sir.”

“She says that you can come by anytime and fill out a report later,” he told Lena. She nodded. “Don’t worry about Sha’la is a friend of mine. She won’t bite,” Lena told Everett. “By the way, what’s your name? I feel I should know the name of my knight in shining armor?” She wrote down her name and number on a piece of paper and handed it to Everett.
