Belgium Conquered!

In a speech to the region this morning Crown Prince OnderKelkia, Commander of The New Inquisition Armed Forces, said the following:

This major update, in the most significant action of 2012 so far, The New Inquisition Armed Forces conquered the region of Belgium. We did so leading a coalition which included close allies and friends, namely The Black Hawks, The Black Riders, The Land of Kings and Emperors and Empires of Earth.
Belgium is a very important strategic gain in our war for two reasons. Firstly, because of its sheer size, with 107 nations (even before the raid) and 8 endorsements, taking it represents a major challenge compared to most raids. Only through careful planning and undeniable numerical strength were we able to take it. It is testament to TNI’s strength, and the combined strength of the raider and imperialist world, that we were more than capable of efficiently executing this task. Perhaps more significantly though, founded in February 2003 (before the introduction of regional founders), Belgium is among the oldest regions in the game and its Delegate had been in power uninterrupted for 916 days. During that time period, many raider organisations have made attempts on Belgium, but it was TNI which succeeded.

Notably, Belgium was also a stalwart of the defender world, having been a leading member of the Allied Liberation League, an organisation which was in cahoots with the ADN and the RLA, thus contributing to the menace of the present day FRA. This invasion sends a clear message to all historic defender regions that they must denounce the wrongs perperated by their successors or they shall face the consequences like their successors. Within our war, we must never forget the history, specificially that it was regions like Belgium (in spite of their superficially isolationist posturing in the modern world) which ultimately gave rise to the threat to our security and region today which the FRA and the UDL pose.
The inexperienced band of interlopers that is the UDL do not share the reliable TNIAF soldier’s undoubted and proven punctuality. Indeed neither the UDL nor the FRA came to the defence of Belgium. This was a result of two factors, principally the speed of TNIAF and our allies in the raider world (due to our excellent timing of the operation); secondly the UDL’s own ever increasing incompetence. Their inability to defend such a core part of their community is telling that they are going the same way as the FRA: to long, painful decay ending in certain oblivion.

This major update The New Inquisition victoriously conquered The Rejected Realms. As a game-created region, an old cornerstone of the ADN and a region of over 1,300 nations (with our population boost!) The Rejected Realms is a significant gain in itself. However, what is most important is its membership of the Founderless Regions Alliance. TRR in guaranteeing its security opted, rather than forming broad alliances with the NS world, to surrender its sovereignty to the FRA and lazily assumed that would make it safe. Today, they have been proven wrong. Membership of the FRA is a liability, not a boon.

Since December 2006, TNI has waged war on the FRA, including The Rejected Realms, for the FRA’s gross violation of TNI sovereignty in our region Valhalla. Since then, the FRA have given us much more reason to oppose them: for instance, deliberately framing three of our senior members as their spies. Far from being a mere spectator to these events, The Rejected Realms actively supported the FRA, even as its own leadership hypocritically invaded The South Pacific earlier last year. Participation in the FRA means war with TNI and there are consequences of that. The Rejected Realms has been, however briefly, liberated from the elitist oligarchy which controls it.
Showing our genuine appreciation of the position of The Rejected Realms is in, we have only begun the deconstruction process for its embassy with the FRA. This illustrates how The Rejected Realms gains nothing from FRA membership. The UDL and TITO were prepared (albeit at too late a stage in the day) to defend TRR; the FRA (in its current pitiful state) was anything but prepared. Ironically, largely due to the split between TRR and the UDL, the FRA’s military presence has become very limited. With the FRA incapable of protecting its own regions, how will it withstand the might of the raider and imperialist world in others?
This is indeed the first time TRR has been invaded with purely military units and no internal endoswapping. The operation to take The Rejected Realms, like all TNIAF missions, was well executed. It was predictated upon tactical surprise and speed. However, it would be amiss not to recognise the significant indirect contribution made by other regions to the operation by coming to TNI’s aid in Belgium. The Black Riders (TBR), The Black Hawks (TBH), Europeia, The Land of Kings and Emperors (The LKE), Xcution, The Black Knights (TBK), United Kingdom of Britain and Ireland (UKB), The Imperial Legion (TIL), Grand Central (GC), Gate of Evil, Democratium, Greater Wetlands, The Kingdom of Denmark, One Big Island, The Shadow Knights, and Empires of Earth (EoE) all have TNI’s gratitude for their assistance in Belgium, which in turn led to this victory. Having completed our occupation and removed the obvious UDL presence from Belgium, we are glad to return it to the natives.

Reich Chancellor Election
Newly elected Reich Chancellor Crist Seymour stands outside of his new Office.
With 100% of precincts reporting (now twice), Crist Seymour is the new Reich Chancellor of The New Inquisition.
The match-off was between Crist Seymour and Dominius Aurelius, a former Reich Chancellor himself. Both men acknowledged the similarities of their campaigns, and even proposed Cabinets.
As votes started coming in, Seymour had a commanding lead over Dominius Aurelius which significantly shrunk as the later precincts reported. Initial returns looked as though Seymour would win by a single vote, but as it crept closer to the polls closing, the result numbers ended in a dead 50%-50% tie.
When the run-off opened, the election looked like it would be exactly similar to the last as events started to unfold. Seymour was up initially, with Dominus Aurelius within hours coming back commandingly. With the initial tie, it seemed as though some people woke up from their rockers and rode their buses out to go vote as more votes were cast in the run off with Seymour eeking out a 56% victory.

The past days have seen a hotly contested General Election for seats in the Reichstag. With eleven people vying for seven seats this was always going to be a close one. 77 votes were cast within the time limit, meaning around twenty people voted in what was a very active contest. TNIAF Strikes At the Heart of the FRA-UDL
The New Inquisition Armed Forces storming Belgium’s Defences
The decrepit remains of the Founderless Regions Alliance posed no challenge in either the conquest of Belgium, on 28th January 2012, or the conquest of The Rejected Realms, their largest and only founderless member-region, on 2nd February 2012. Both these invasions were led by The New Inquisition. The raid on Belgium, carried out by a coalition led by TNI but also containing The Black Hawks, The Black Riders, The Land of Kings and Emperors and Empires of Earth, illustrated that in spite of the pre-existing UDLs presence in the region and Belgiums key role in the Allied Liberation League, it was not immune from invasion. The seizure of Belgium, a 108 nation region with an eight-endorsement Delegate, represented a significant (albeit not breath-taking) victory in itself. However, the fact TNIs occupation was subsequently supported by, at one point, 96 endorsements from 17 regions demonstrates the power of the raider and imperialist world when it acts in unison, rendering the UDL unable to retaliate against the occupation.
This undoubted success in Belgium was doubled by the successful takeover of The Rejected Realms achieved by ejecting all the endorsements on our point in Belgium. This was the first time TRR, a 1,300 nation following the population boost TNI provided, had been invaded since 2003 solely using military units rather than through the ejection of civilian nations. The significance of the TRR invasion, successfully planned to last for one update, however arises primarily from its status as an FRA military target: TNIs victory in conquering The Rejected Realms, a game-created region, is a major breakthrough in our war against the Founderless Regions Alliance. This war has been fought since December 2006 but it is about current issues as much as history: for instance, the FRA is yet to apologise for the deliberate framing of three senior TNI members as their spies. The message is clear: TRR, by becoming a cornerstone of the FRA and the ADN before it, closed itself off from the imperialist world, making it vulnerable to attack which the FRA can do nothing about.

Operations in Stargate, Asia, The West and East Pacific are of particular note as demonstrations of the UDL and FRAs inability to overcome the power of the raider and imperialist world in action. The most recent major deployments in Outer Heaven and The Library though are equally informative: despite the fact it could have been more easily liberated and didnt have a founder waiting to revive when the restoration function was activated, Outer Heaven was ignored by the UDL, whereas the region of its current Chief of Recruitment, The Library, was swiftly targeted by an unsuccessful liberation attempt. This confirms that TNIs assistance in invading The Library was important, because it shows The Library as a region is valuable to the UDL. Yet The Library was returned to its natives soon after its founder revived; Outer Heaven languishes under the control of The Black Hawks, in no small part thanks to the forces provided by The New Inquisition and our allies in Europeia and The Land of King and Emperors. This is proof that the UDL, rather than having the moral superiority its material boasts of, is an entity like the FRA and like TNI operating on the basis of its own interest. This is why Belgium, a region with UDL members, saw the start of a UDL recruitment drive, carried by Unibot in his signature, whereas no similar effort was made in relation to Stargate, Asia, The West and East Pacific. Even allowing for a degree of tactical incompetence in these decisions, the UDL is marred by the self-interest it disassociates itself from.
New Assistant Commander Appointed
Following the retirement of the much valued r3naissanc3r from NationStates and thus from the position of Associate Assistant Commander, Commander OnderKelkia announced Dominius Aurelius as the new Associate Assistant Commander. This reflects Dominius Aureliuss dedication to his TNIAF duties and his experience as a former Chief of the Imperial General Staff.

MOAR TREATIES
In a continuation of the recent hard work of the Foreign Office two new treaties have been ratified by The New Inquisition. The Treaty of Stargate was recently concluded with Democratium who have recently turned more to raiding. It immediately bore fruits with The New Inquisition Armed Forces deploying troops in aid of Democratium’s raid in Corporate Profit Alliance. TNI has also signed a treaty with Grand Central which we hope will be equally as fruitful in the coming weeks. In addition the Reichstag is currently debating the Treaty of Ashbourne with the upcoming region of Exshaw.

New Judges!
Following the resignations of Wullamudulla and Olde Delaware from the Reich Court of Justice, the former to successfully contest the last Reich Chancellor election, two new Richters have been appointed: North East Somerset and Tiberius Deorum. Both are former Richters and between them have a vast amount of judicial experience within TNI. Crist Seymour was also appointed Richter Pro Tempore but do to his election as Reich Chancellor a new appointment will have to be made.

Vice-Reich Elector Appointed
North East Somerset has recently been appointed by the Reich Elector, the Duke of Brunswick, to the position of Vice-Reich Elector. It followed the resignation of Arcnor due to time constraints thanks to real life. NES brings a huge amount of experience to the role though the appointment is not expected to be a long term one due to the Reich Elector’s desire to train younger members through the position.

TNI Celebrates 6 Years of Excellence
For Almost Six Years, The New Inquisition has been an active presence in Nationstates. For Six Years, The New Inquisition has existed, and for even that accomplishment alone TNI will be celebrating. But it is more than that. TNI is a large, influential region. She has had her lows but now her culture is strong and thriving, her armies have seen success after success on the battlefeild, her politics are active and diverse. The New Inquisition has accomplished much in its six years, and the time to celebrate is near.
Starting on March 24th and going until April 2nd, The New Inquisition will begin its celebrations of its 6th anniversary. And you are invited to attend. There will be pomp and pageantry, speeches, celebrations, tea, bacon, drinks, games and fun. Hear from old hands who’ve been with TNI since the beginning, and middle-aged players who’ve seen it from another perspective. Hear new people talk about everything they’ve seen and heard. Play games like “Six Degrees from TNI” and find out who TNI votes for in various People’s Choice Awards Catagories, ranging from political to personal all with a streak of humour.

In a speech to TNI Crown Prince OnderKelkia, Commander of The New Inquisition Armed Forces, said the following:

Perhaps temporarily (given the possibility of the return of the founder), Soviet Union is once again a dominion of The New Inquisition, with a full TNI flag installed and over twenty TNI units from part of the 37-strong force backing our Delegate. This is no small part thanks to our staunch friends The Black Riders. Having been occupied by a coalition of raider and imprialist force consisting largely of TNI units ever since The Black Riders first invaded Soviet Union five days ago.
Occupying a protectorate of the Founderless Regions Alliance represents the latest military development in our War against the FRA, coming soon after we conquered The Rejected Realms, the largest and only founderless full member of the FRA. TNI has a history with Soviet Union, having successfully colonised the region previously between 1st December 2007 and 10th February 2008. Unfortunately, our resources were by late February 2008 devoted to supporting a Delegate of The North Pacific, meaning Soviet Union only had a reduced guard and was thus liberated, the only really significant victory against TNI the FRA has had for the entire War. Be in no doubt: reclaiming Soviet Union is a major victory for TNI, well in time for Foundation Day celebrations. Valhalla may have caused our War with the FRA, but Soviet Union is where it got hot and Soviet Union is now ours once again.
The insurmountable weakness of the FRA means they cannot even protect their own protectorates, which are esentially those member-regions which the FRA deems weak and have thus, in the FRA’s own interests, been downgraded to protectorate status. For a founderless region, from regions as large as The Rejected Realms to those of more limited capacity like Soviet Union, FRA membership is no safe haven but a time bomb.
Our thanks go to The Land of Kings and Emperors (The LKE), Europeia, Markarth, The Kingdom of Denmark and the Greater Wetlands for supporting our occupation. The occupation of Soviet Union at nearly 40 endorsements represents the achievement of strong independent, sovereign regions in action.

Royal Wedding Approaches
The New Inquisition also has happier news to report. The Kaiserin will soon be married to the outgoing Reich Chancellor, the Rt. Hon. The Graz. These nuptials mean that Chancellor Graz will join the Royal Family as TNI’s Kaiser-Consort. The date is still to be determined and details and invitations will be delivered to TNI’s embassies at the appropriate time. Everyone here in TNI wishes the royal couple all the best and we very much look forward to the upcoming ceremony and festivities.

Bealtaine Festival a Great Success

The New Inquisition kicked off spring with the Bealtaine Festival beginning on 30th April, a revival of two ancient medieval festivals – Bealtaine and Eostre – that celebrated the advent of spring and the seasonal theme of renewal and fertility. TNI’s Bealtaine Festival was also a celebration of regional renewal, celebrating TNI’s Constitution and providing regional citizens as well as friends from abroad with many fun cultural events and activities in which to participate. Events and activities included two very popular sexy avatar contests as well as a variety of spam and games.
The Bealtaine Festival also played host to a cultural summit that saw an agreement signed between TNI and several other regions to promote cultural cross-participation. The Bealtaine Accord – agreed upon by Empires of Earth, Europeia, Exshaw, The Land of Kings and Emperors, and TNI – will help foster cultural cross-participation by enabling signatories to cross-promote certain cultural events and activities. These include holiday events, university classes, and role-playing games.
TNI looks forward, together with our fellow signatories, to reaping the fertile cultural harvest from the seeds that were sown in the Bealtaine Accord. We hope for another successful Bealtaine Festival next year!

General Election Results
A general election concluded on 8th May, seeing the following candidates elected to the Reichstag:

This general election gave members of the Primrose League a simple majority in the Reichstag, though cooperation between parties has still been necessary in order to amend TNI’s Constitution. While sometimes contentious, the revival of partisan politics has brought new life to the Reichstag and stimulated political participation across the board.
Meanwhile, April saw the reelection of TNI’s Reich Elector, C. I. Cerebella. Following reelection to his fourth term as Reich Elector, the Duke of Brunswick delivered a major speech on 16th April in which he addressed many of the major foreign policy issues facing TNI. Cerebella specifically took aim at the United Defenders League and others who would undermine regional sovereignty:

We now need to take to the centre stage and show that attacks on sovereignty and the right to choose a military stance are actually attacks on regions that are a valuable and positive part of Nationstates. TNI has the opportunity, and even a duty, to play our role in protecting the rights of all our friends and allies to do as they wish as sovereign regions, and exist as rounded communities. I want to offer out our hand of friendship and our help to any region that is concerned about these issues. No one should be branded ‘devil-tongued shit-disturbers’ and the suchlike just because we play the game a different way to other people. Nobody Expects The New Inquisition
During the month of May, The New Inquisition conducted several successful military deployments. TNIAF successfully occupied Sierra on 1st May. On 9th May, TNIAF assisted Europeia in safeguarding Domed Supercontinent of Eternal Winter from UDL and FRA attack. Both missions were conducted while simultaneously assisting The Black Riders in their occupation of Region of reunited muslim states. TNIAF conducted its own successful occupation of Scotland beginning on 19th May and thanks all friends and allies who supported that occupation. TNIAF also provided the largest contribution to the Europeian-led occupation of United Republic Nations on 27th May.
Most importantly, TNIAF played a vital role in assisting The Land of Kings and Emperors in their surprise liberation of The United Kingdom of Britain from occupation by The Greater German Reich on 29th May. History will show that this first successful mission against GGR marked the beginning of the end for the Nazi menace of NationStates and the TNIAF was proud to fight alongside its friends and allies abroad.

TNI Surpasses 700 Nations
The New Inquisition continued to grow during the month of May, surpassing the major population milestone of 700 nations. Josh Sebastian, Secretary of State for Home Affairs, offered the following statement to mark this momentous occasion:

Friedrich Wilhelm Wins Reich Chancellor Election

In an election that saw a record turnout of 37 voters, The Primrose League candidate, Friedrich Wilhelm secured a significant victory over his Sanity Party rival, three-time former Reich Chancellor, Joshua IX, the Marquis of the Nordmark, by 23 votes for 14. It was a hotly contested election, with tempers fraying at times in both campaign threads with a clear division between those supporting the youthful cabinet of Wilhelm against the very experienced one of Lord Nordmark. In a recent poll though for the regional newspaper, State of Affairs, 85% of respondents believed that the election was too focused on the personalities rather than the issues. With Lord Nordmark saying in an interview for the TNI Telegraph that Sanity intends to provide ‘a robust opposition that will ensure that the government is held accountable’ it remains to be seen whether this focus on personalities will haunt the electorate or whether choosing youth over experience turns out to be a wise choice indeed.

It is a largely unchanged line-up with the only major change being Sanity politician Earl Frenchman at Heart coming in as an Imperial Advisor in the spirit of bipartisanship. The Foreign Office is very pleased to report that TNI’s cultural scene is thriving at the moment! We currently have a book club discussing the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and the differences between American and British culture, a couple of nation role plays and an exciting game of Diplomacy, where it looks like France might not last too much longer, as well as much more! We are very sorry to report though that an attempt by the Reich Chancellor to solicit a description to go in an info thread from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was met by a savage broadside from their Pirate Knights. We are still looking for parts of him scattered across the region.
If you fancy taking part in some of this but don’t want to apply for citizenship then if you are a member of one of our treaty allies you can now apply for a Cultural Visa and even if you aren’t a member of one of our allies then you can apply for diplomatic status to take part, both, of course, subject to security checks.

TNIAF News
Since the last update TNI’s Armed Forces have been busy helping our ally Democratium’s occupation of Gargantuan, where we have provided the majority of the support. TNIAF also provided a contingent to aid The Black Rider’s in their seizure of South America while we were deployed in Gargantuan, once again displaying our Armed Forces’ operational flexibility.
In less bright news our valued soldier, Major-General Afgambistan, has gone inactive over the past few weeks. Since joining TNI he has been an exemplary soldier, attending many update raids and playing a valuable role as Assistant Commander (Tactics). To replace him in this position, Cerian Quilor has been promoted to the General Staff. Only joining TNI a few months ago Cerian has excelled as a soldier and will certainly continue to do so in this new position.
In a typically cynical move though it seems the varied defenders of Nationstates have made use of Afgambistan’s inactivity to invade a possession of TNI that he held the founder nation for. While we have come to expect such brazenly hypocritical actions, we do hope Afgambistan will return soon and show them the heave-ho with the founder ban hammer.

Over to Manual we go
Since the ban on automatic recruiting scripts it has been a period of ups and downs. In the first week our recruiters sent an impressive 2719 telegrams, ensuring we reached a new all time high of over 750 nations. However, we did so well in our efforts that we broke the system that fetches the new nations for our recruiters and records who sent them. As such we had no recruiting going on for a whole week which saw our population dwindle back down to around 710. Since the 16th though, when it was remembered that our old manual recruitment system still worked, we have managed to cancel out some of our losses, rising back up to 738 nations with 877 telegrams and counting sent so far!

The Newly Elected Government!
The previously elected Reich Chancellor Mr Friedrich Wilhelm considered the Reichstag to be too inactive and so decided that it was fit to call for a general election and assemble a new Reichstag. This was done in hopes of getting fresh people into the Reichstag to boost activity.

The Primrose League managed to obtain a super-majority in the Reichstag, after several terms of trying to regain said dominant position, allowing for excellent control over the elected house. With the super-majority, many possible opportunities have been opened for their legislative agenda. An added bonus for the league was they were able to get their nominated Reich Chancellor Mr Gavin Novawk into power.
The New Executive
Friedrich Wilhelm was replaced as Reich Chancellor on the 9th of May. With a 4:1 vote (with one abstaining) Gavin Novawk was elected Reich Chancellor for his first time.
His first undertaking was appointing his Cabinet. His Deputy Reich Chancellor is an individual that he has worked with successfully in the past named Cephal Talleyrand. The position of Culture Secretary has been given to Edward Leben, who according to the Reich Chancellor is a great member of this community, [who] shall utilise his experience and knowledge of TNI and NationStates to put on several events that we all can enjoy. The State Secretary of Home Affairs position has been given to MagentaFairy for her being a rising star within TNI, [who] shall use that excellent and friendly personality of hers to transform TNI and the Government of TNI into an approachable area for all members of the community to get involved in.
With Mr. Novawks term underway, we look forward to what him and his Cabinet can do to advance the region.
TNI has also seen the election of Christopher Bishop as Reich Elector and Edward Leben as his Vice Reich Elector. Negotiations with Game Created Regions has been a priority in his tenure and treaties with newer region such as Albion have been conducted. Recently a conference for Beltaine members being hosted in TNI has been set up by Earl Bishop (the Earl of Calüfrax) and is currently ongoing. The region wishes him continuing success as Reich Elector.
Convention Time

Since 2010 TNI has had its current Constitution which has remained the same (not counting of course the various edits to it over the past 3 years). But with the recent changes to recruitment and the WADs administration powers, and after a very convincing speech from the one of the regions most respected statesmen, Charles Cerebella, it was decided a new constitution would be needed to deal with the potentially vast changes coming to NationStates Regions.
And so the region chose to hold a Constitutional Convention to draft a new Constitution. After the Reichstag passed a bill allowing it to commence, discussion got underway. People allowed to discuss in the Convention are the Kaiserin, the Heir Apparent, all Peers of the Realm, currently seated members of the Reichstag and any people who have been members of the Reichstag prior to the one who enacted the Convention.
Jet Black, one of the regions strongest legislators was appointed in charge and discussion is in full flow at the moment. All different areas of a constitution such as the Monarchy, Executive, Judiciary etc. are being considered and potentially a new constitution for future colonies will be implemented. Heated debates have included whether to merge the positions of the Reich Chancellor and Reich Elector back together and whether the World Assembly Delegate should be given more powers on the offsite forum or not.
And so discussion continues on the Constitution and theres no knowing where it will head next!
Festivities

Citizens of The New Inquisition gathered to celebrate the 7th birthday of the region on March 31st. The crowd gathered wearing party hats and wielding party poppers as the Kaiserin kicked the week-long festival off. The citizens were treated to one of her world famous addresses. Many citizens were seen swooning in awe and many described themselves as “weak at the knees” afterwards.
As the afternoon festivities died down, the more boring citizens enjoyed a one of a kind talk show from the comfort of their own homes. The show featured many famous TNIers including Charles Cerebella and Joshua IX. They discussed topics such as the early days of TNI, old TNIers they would like to see again, and why the youth of today are so inferior to the older generation.
The festival also hosted discussions on a wide range of topics, from the threat of North Korea to Rome Total War 2 to beautiful, pointless spam.
In the town square, the ever popular People Choice Awards was also held. There were categories for everyone ranging from the Best Lord to Who is most likely to have a sock fetish. Winners of each category were showered in roses and socks, as appropriate. Losers were booed and pelted with rotten fruit.
Just because the Foundation Day Festival is over, doesn’t mean that the culture office has stopped planning.
Foreign Affairs
Amongst a few things that are going on, The New Inquisition and the new imperialist region Albion have signed the treaty of Avalon, which binds the two regions together hoping for a more prospective future for both regions. TNI has high hopes for the new region and what it will be capable of in the upcoming future.
Now it has almost been a year since the signing of the Beltaine Accord with not much happening done with amongst the various signers. In hopes to correct this problem the Reich Elector decided to hold another conference to discuss with the other signers about trying to get such activities planned and bringing on new member regions to hopefully bring the regions closer.
The FRA, like it has done in the past, sent in operatives into other regions to try to change their military and political identities. This is no different than what the FRA had attempted to do in Ainur. Due to assistance provided from TNI through the ISIS, Ainur was able to uncover the plot and prevent any further damage from occurring to the region. TNI stands strong with her allies.
Military Activities
The United Imperial Armed Forces (UIAF) has seen a lot of success in recent times with providing significant numbers to the Black Hawk occupations, Japan and Furry Federation, and the Europeia Republican Navy (ERN) of St Abbaddon. The UIAF Made up the largest number of reinforcements during all of the occupations mentioned.
Now under the command of Deputy Commander Christopher Bishop the UIAF has been able to break previous record of raids during a single update, which was 11 with the new record being 27 regions. Christopher lead an operation that broke the previous record first with 18 regions then a few days later organized the capture of 27 regions. Such significant improvement and there is no way besides going up from here!
We will be seeing a much more active UIAF in the coming months and updates!

TNI Seizes Military Victories
TNI Soldiers storm Australia
The New Inquisition Armed Forces been enjoying a successful period during which the foreign policy objectives of TNI have been attained and impressive military strength in its own right demonstrated. As part of the wider United Imperial Armed Forces, alongside our partners the LKE Imperial Army and the Royal Albion Legion, TNIAF has recently led major occupations and participated in a number of strategically important missions.
First, TNIAF occupied New Zealand following an update raid involving 8 UIAF troops and, less than a day after the invasion, over 20 UIAF troops were already deployed in support of our Delegate. At its peak the UIAF Delegate in New Zealand had 50 endorsements gathered from the UIAF and our allies. Following this operation, the UIAF conducted yet another major occupation, seizing the historic region Australia, ending the delegate’s reign after 559 days. After the initial invasion, forces from The West Pacific and Europeia combined with the bulk of UIAF forces in supporting the UIAF Delegate, while ten UIAF troops remained deployed in The Creed in support of Kantrias. This reflects the versatility of our forces in underpinning the operations of our allies and our own missions, as well as the importance of our allies in supporting our own activities. A defender liberation attempt against Australia, led personally by Unibot, was soundly defeated illustrating the UIAF’s continued success in TNI’s and the LKE’s wars against the UDL and the FRA. We have also joined our close military partner The Black Riders in refounding Angola, K and J Alliance, and the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
Not only has impressive military might been displayed by the capacity of the UIAF to carry out these operations, but TNI’s interests have been served by by the defeats which we continue to inflict upon the forces of the UDL and the FRA in battle. Equally significant a contribution to TNI’s strategic interests has been made by TNIAF’s role as part of the UIAF force in Osiris, deploying both in November to assist the legitimate Delegate of Osiris in thwarting the efforts of “the Empire” in undermining that region’s stability and in December to support action by the Osiris Fraternal Order to remove the threat posed by “the Empire” to Osiris completely. 35 units of the UIAF remain deployed in Osiris in support of the legitimate Government. Thus, the UIAF continues to serve the foreign interests of TNI well by offering an immense military capacity to support our interventions and TNIAF makes a key contribution to these efforts. We remain very grateful to all allies and friends who we have worked with during this period.
New Reichstag Elected
The New Inquisition Reichstag
The Primrose League stormed to victory in most recent set of Reichstag elections, with its members securing control of three-fifths of the chamber. Other notable candidates elected included Friedrich Wilhelm, elected for the ‘Revolutionary Republican Party’ having resigned from the New Progressive Coalition in October, and Jet Black, an independent candidate noted for having spent a long period previously serving as TNI’s Hauptrichter (chief judge). Since the new Reichstag has assembled, Jet Black was selected against Gun Nutty Buddies (of the Primrose League) for the position of Speaker.
In addition, under a process initiated by the Election Commissioner it was confirmed that Olde Delaware, of the Primrose League, would be going forward from the public to the newly elected Reichstag for approval to continue to serve TNI in the office of the Reich Chancellor. The new Reichstag has now approved the nomination of Olde Delaware, with five votes in favour, reflecting another electoral success for the Primrose League.
The Reichstag will now have to turn its consideration to legislative business, in particular a bill for the regulation of cultural awards and recognitions passed by the previous Reichstag rejected unanimously by the Herrenhaus, the upper house of TNI’s Diet, on the argument that it was disadvantageous compared to existing practices. This and other bills leave the new Reichstag with much work to do in order to further the interests of the Empire.
Expansion of Roleplay and Strategy Games
We are pleased to announce that The New Inquisition’s roleplay sector, already strong and one of the richest areas of our forums, is rapidly expanding. Currently in progress is Imperium a world-domination style strategy game, where everyone from invasions to state production orders are all in full-swing, which has attracted a diverse range of TNI’s citizenry, including lords who are otherwise retired and new members of our community alike. Citizens have also enjoyed participating in Akuna, which is set in a dystopian fantasy world where the God of decay has taken over, though this particular game is currently on hiatus due to the organiser’s real life concerns, so its return is eagerly anticipated by all.
Many members of TNI have taken to designing their own roleplay environments for fellow citizens to participate in, for example Plaguelord is planning a roleplay based on space-born fleets called Travellers, while Lynneiah developing a turn-based game in a high fantasy setting and Homo_Ignoramus working on a revival of the established Age of Empire game. Thus, with a wide variety of roleplays and games already in place and more being produced by our region’s roleplay enthusiasts and an enthusiastic general population, the forthcoming weeks and months look set to be a great time to roleplay in TNI.

His Serene Grace, OnderKelkia and His Imperial Highness, Charles Cerebella
Since our last foreign update TNI has a new Crown Prince following the retirement of OnderKelkia from this position. OnderKelkia announced that he had decided to stand down as Crown Prince alone among his positions in order to ensure that, with time pressures on the Kaiserin likely to increase and his own activity variable, a senior member of the TNI monarchy would always be available to act in the Kaiserin’s stead. Following this speech, the Kaiserin paid tribute to OnderKelkia for his service, announced that an area of the TNI forums would be named after him and conferred upon him the title of Archduke of Saxony alongside confirming the continuation of his administrative and citizenship powers.
The Kaiserin then announced that Charles Cerebella would become the region’s new Crown Prince as a reflection of his long service on behalf of the region in a variety of executive positions spanning domestic and foreign affairs over years. Cerebella was delegated the same powers his predecessor enjoyed to exercise the Kaiserin’s constitutional powers, with the exception of the authority to appoint new administrators. The citizens of TNI were unanimous in thanking OnderKelkia for his service and congratulating Cerebella on his ascension.
Successful Festival with Albion
Recently The New Inquisition hosted our friends from Albion for what proved to be a vibrant joint cultural festival. Dubbed the ‘Winterfest’, the activities in the festival ranged around a variety of themes as TNI and Albion marked the season in a collective spirit of goodwill. Under the leadership of TNI’s current Culture Minister Homo_Ignoramus, citizens of TNI and Albion partook in an event for the recollection of memories from both regions and a game of Mafia. Meanwhile, within the festival a Games Centre was established by Bert, consisting of twelve different games thoroughly enjoyed all participants.
The festival is therefore a fitting tribute to the relatively new but growing relationship between TNI and Albion over the latter half of this year. In addition to these joint cultural pursuits, which have successfully involved the wider citizenry of our regions in marking our friendship, Albion is also a close ally and partner of TNI in the political and military spheres, with the Royal Albion Legion having joined TNI Armed Forces and The Land of Kings and Emperors Imperial Army in the United Imperial Armed Forces as a new constituent military back in August. This successful festival, hosted by TNI and embraced by the citizenry of both regions, further cements our relationship.
Collapse in Peace Talks with FRA
In September, then FRA Arch Chancellor Falconias unilaterally announced that he was inviting the United Imperial Armed Forces to a conference to discuss GCR defence and declaring peace in the war which TNI and the LKE have waged against the FRA. He made this without the consent of The New Inquisition, the Joint Commander of the UIAF or either of the other two UIAF governments, having only raised the possibility of a summit with a single UIAF official. Despite the way in this invite was delivered, the Government of The New Inquisition, alongside the governments of The Land of Kings and Emperors and Albion, authorised the United Imperial Armed Forces to negotiate with the FRA and accept the invitation offered by Falconias.
TNI regrets to report that in November the UIAF regional governments instructed our delegation to withdraw from the summit after it became clear that the FRA was unable and, apart from Falconias, largely unwilling to effectively engage in negotiations. Members of the FRA delegation at the summit dissented from the principle of prioritising GCR defence outlined by Falconias in his inaugural address. Falconias himself announced that he was working on a treaty to be published the next day and then did not produce it, leading to a period of over a month in which negotiations were stalled, only for the new FRA Arch Chancellor to inform us that he was bringing the entire issue back to the FRA Regional Assembly.
The FRA invited us to a summit and then decided to have a debate over whether they should continue to talk to us halfway through. After such unsatisfactory conduct, we accordingly withdrew and TNI’s war on the FRA continues with the failure of the peace summit they invited us to attend.

The New Inquisition followed successful 8th anniversary celebrations with an exciting and competitive General Election. There was fierce competition and debate from a range of candidates and the formation of a new political party, the Prussian Reform Party introduced added spice.

Two candidates ran close campaigns but were unsuccessful: Wyzecat and Oberkommando Crabtree.
Following the elections, Viktoria von Hohenzollern defeated Sir Pitt in the Reich Chancellor elections and formed a new government. The new Reich Chancellor promised to bring in newer members alongside experienced citizens to drive the region forward over the months ahead. There are hopes that this term will see significant activity across a range of areas within the region.

His Most Gracious and Imperial Majesty, has delivered a Speech from the Throne at the start of the new Government and the end of the 8th Foundation Day celebrations, the first of his reign. Referencing the success of the Foundation Day celebrations, His Majesty once again stressed the need for the region to attract new blood.
Laying out the priorities for the future of the region, the Kaiser said that alongside upgrades to the forums there would be changes made to reform TNI from a 19th Century Imperial German region, to an 18th Century Prussian region.
Subjects have loyally given their support to the Sovereign and there is excitement and anticipation as all look forward to what how this change will be implemented.
The Kaiser also announced that the former Reich Chancellor, Olde Delaware, would be elevated to the title The Margrave Palatine of Bremen, in recognition of his leadership of The New Inquisition.
[align=center]From the frontline - a TNI Armed Forces Update[/align]
The New Inquisition Armed Forces have continued to go from strength to strength since our last update. As part of the United Imperial Armed Forces, together with the LKE Imperial Army and the Royal Albion Legion, TNIAF recently conducted an occupation of Scotland. This success was a joint occupation between The North Pacific Army and the United Imperial Armed Forces, designed to further relations between the UIAF regions and The North Pacific. The complete absence of any opposition from the UDL or the FRA is further proof that the UIAF is attaining victory in TNI and the LKE’s wars against the UDL and the FRA.
As of time of writing, 29 UIAF troops are deployed in The Soviet Bloc reinforcing an occupation by the Lone Wolves United and more UIAF troops are expected to arrive. Prior to its invasion, led by LWU and in which UIAF partook, the delegacy of the Soviet Bloc was in the hands of Milograd and the ‘Lazarene Liberation Army’, making the invasion and subsequent occupation solid victories against Lazarus, which conducted an absurd purge of UIAF officials (including then TNI Kaiserin and former Lazarus Delegate Gryfynn, and current Kaiser Charles Cerebella), and, as Lazarus is a member of the FRA, the FRA as a whole. Thus, the UIAF is continuing to doggedly pursue the wars of TNI and the LKE against the FRA with great success.
Against this background of victory after victory, TNIAF Commander OnderKelkia announced the appointment of Torrin von Vonno as Deputy Commander of The New Inquisition Armed Forces in light of his dedication to update operations and demonstrated capacity for military leadership. Torrin von Vonno has subsequently been dual-hatted as the UIAF’s TNI Division Commander (succeeding Edward Leben), to be combined with his role as Deputy Commander of TNIAF, by UIAF Joint Commander Bishop. This appointment reflects the coming of a new generation of military leadership. This generation is more than ready to carry on TNIAF’s legacy of creative and professional operations which serve the foreign policy objectives of our region.
[align=center]Imperial University signs agreements with Lands of Kings and Emperors and Albion[/align]
The Imperial University of The New Inquisition has signed two agreements with universities in Albion and The Land of Kings and Emperors which will see the Imperial University work more closely with these institutions.
The Imperial University is one of the premier universities in Nationstates and it is hoped that these agreements will lead to the advancement of learning across all three regions.
