I saw the 300 with a few friends, it’s an excellent film and definately worth seeing. Yes it’s unrealistic and portrays the Persians, especially Xerxes as sexual perverts with Xerxes looking like a transsexual prostitute.
However it is still good, I’d give it 8.5/10.

I read an article on this in Prospect (UK magazine for the unenlightened)
Normally holywood is all nice and liberal, tries not to be too xenophobic, and disputes the ability of rampant masculinity to solve anything. 300 is the opposit, and an intresting allegory on what maybe, there nice liberal producers, think is the soloution to the percieved threat from iran - not that there is any, see another article in this months prospect.
