Role-Play Legislation Act (RP-1)

Citation:

  • This bill may be cited as the Role-Play Legislation Act.

Terms:

  • Role-Playing or Role-Play may hereafter be refered to as RP.
  • In Character may hereafter be refered to as IC.
  • Out of Character may hereafter be refered to as OOC.
  • The East Pacific may hereafter be refered to as EP.

Intent:

  • To regulate RP in the EP through the establishment of an Office of RP Affairs
  • To set clear responsibilities, guidelines, and restrictions for said Office of RP Affairs.

Applicability:

  • As determined by Section 2 of the EP Charter, this bill shall remain applicable until that time which it is declared to be in violation of The East Pacific Charter by the Supreme Court, or repealed by the Magisterial Assembly.

Definition:
-The Office of RP Affairs shall be the premier regulator of RP in the EP, and premier steward of the ongoing narrative of EPRP.

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the well-being of the EPRP Community through the mediation of RP disputes, prevention of RP Actions destructive to the EPRP Community as a whole, and settlement of issues regarding RP.
  • To advise, encourage and facilitate the EPRP Community’s joint-storytelling efforts.

The RP Administrator:

  • The Cheif Executive of the Office of RP Affairs shall be the RP Administrator.
  • The RP Administrator shall be appointed by the Delegate with confirmation of 2/3 of the Magisterial Assembly.
  • The RP Administrator shall serve in this position until the Delegate removes the RP Administrator from said position, or the RP Administrator resigns from said position.
  • Decisions made by the RP Administrator may be ultimately voided by the Delegate, should the Delegate believe said decisions do not support the well-being of the EPRP Community.
  • Decisions made by the RP Administrator may be overturned by the Appeals Process and/or Supreme Court of the East Pacific, should said body believe them to be in violation of this bill or the EP Charter.
  • The RP Administrator shall be awarded all powers granted to Global Moderators and Regular Administrators.
  • The RP Administrator shall have the authority to disqualify RP actions, RP posts, and/or entire RP threads, should the RP Administrator feel them to threaten the stability of the EPRP Community.
  • The RP Administrator shall have the authority to assume the role(s) of characters of a nation or nations, should the RP Administrator feel it necesary to maintain the stability of the EPRP Community.

RP Moderators

  • The RP Moderator shall serve as the assistant to the RP Administrator.
  • The RP Moderator shall be appointed by the RP Administrator, with approval of the Delegate.
  • The RP Moderator shall serve in this position until the RP Administrator removes the RP Moderator from his office, or the RP Moderator resigns.
  • Decisions of the RP Moderator may be overturned by the RP Administrator, should the RP Administrator believe said decisions to be in contravention of this bill, and/or the EP Charter; and/or do not support the well-being of the EPRP Community.
  • The RP Moderator shall be awarded all powers granted to Global Moderators.
  • The RP Moderator shall have the authority to disqualify RP actions, RP posts, and/or entire RP threads, should the RP Moderator feel them to threaten the stability of the EPRP Community.
  • The RP Moderator shall have the authority to assume the role(s) of characters of a nation or nations, should the RP Moderator feel it necesary to maintain the stability of the EPRP Community.

Appeals Process

  • Any decision made by an RP Moderator can be appealed to and overruled by the RP Administrator.
  • Any decision made by the RP Administrator can be appealed to and overruled by the Archon.
  • Any decision made by the Archon can be appealed to and overruled by the RP Affairs Tribunal.
  • Any decision made by the RP Affairs Tribunal can be appeal to and overruled by the Delegate.
  • Any decision made by the Delegate is final and cannot be appealed or overruled.

Archon

  • The Archon shall serve as a decision-making member of the Appeals Process.
  • The Archon shall be appointed by the RP Administrator.
  • The Archon shall be awarded all powers granted to Global Moderators and Regular Administrators.
  • Decisions made by the Archon may be overturned by the RP Affairs Tribunal, should the body believe said decisions to be in contravention of this bill, and/or the EP Charter; and/or do not support the well-being of the EPRP Community.

RP Affairs Tribunal

  • The RP Affairs Tribunal shall serve as a decision-making body of the Appeals Process.
  • The RP Affairs Tribunal shall consist of three members: one appointed by the RP Administrator; one appointed by the Magisterial Assembly; and one appointed by the Delegate.
  • Decisions made by the RP Affairs Tribunal may be overturned by the Delegate, should the Delegate believe said decisions to be in contravention of this bill, and/or the EP Charter; and/or do not support the well-being of the EPRP Community.

Delegate

  • The Delegate shall serve as the final decision-making member of the Appeals Process.
  • The Delegate is the Chief Executive of the Executive Branch of the EP Government.
  • The Delegate shall maintain all powers granted to Global Moderators, Regular Administrators, and Root Administrators.
  • Decisions made by the Delegate are final and may not be overturned.

General
-The terms of this bill shall come into effect upon its passing.
-The Delegate and Magisterial Assembly shall be charged with the duty of respectively appointing and confirming an RP Administrator within one month of the passing of this bill.
