What's your political compass?

I hate gay marriages and civil unions.
I hate drug use.
I hate Commies.
I hate whinging left wing, liberal Guardian newspaper readers.
I love maximum intervention on other countries.

On a more serious note, I am a little surprised how I managed to end up on the right. I mean, I am not in favour of legalising weed, I am only in favour of some protectionism (I’m not a Communist) and favour gay marriages on the basis they don’t ram down thier policies down my throat like with many things in life.

Very odd.

As I said earlier, I think this is not a good test. I suspect, that the end results reflect the views of the creators.

To an extent, the same can be said of any online survey/test/questionnaire. There will always be a level of bias in any such assessment of opinion. It is inevitable. There is no real way to avoid it. Nevertheless I think it is an interesting view of political views and there is no real harm in it.

Economic Left/Right: -5.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.23

I have taken this test 3 times so far and I stay in the same area, nice.

Economic: +10
Social: -6.36

I am:
Economic: -0.38
Social: -1.64

Isn’t it really weird how nearly everybody is in or on the border of the bottom left quadrant?

I wasn’t expecting that, to be honest. I guess we’re a very leftist / libertarian region for the most part, lol.

Updated!

Economic Left/Right: -5.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.36

«Multinational companies are unethically exploiting the plant genetic resources of developing countries» <= I always thought this statement was a little bizarre.

Edit: I was a little curious, so I used the Gallup polls to try and hash out the views of the average American, and it came up with something like (+1, +2).

It’s not the most well-worded statement, but I believe it’s referring to instances where large agribusinesses patented or attempted to patent crops/plants which had originally been cross-bred by indigenous farmers in Africa, etc., and indigenous farming practices. That said, I’m not familiar with the specifics, it’s one of those things I read somewhere.

I re-took this a couple of weeks ago, don’t remember the results exactly but it was something like this:

Economics: -8.54

Lib/Aut: -9.20

I do believe this is something like the 5th time I’ve taken this test. And I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the same results twice. Anyway, this time it’s:

Economic Left/Right: -0.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

Updated the image!

Looks like almost no authoritarians…

Pretty much. While the quiz isn’t 100% accurate, as Lazlow and Kelssek pointed out, it’s still interesting to see the results.

Just took it.

Economic Left/Right: -2.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.00

Pretty accurate me, though I don’t dislike capitalism THAT much.

Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.46
