Where Am I What Am I Doing Here Why Is This?

The Community Ambient Pot-Culture of Darvinia

I have come here to address to the individuals of this particular establishment who are unknown to me. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing, nor do I know what The East Pacific is, or why I’m an automatic member and yet needs some kind citizenship. A nation that is forced in to an ocean of some kind (East Pacific? Fuck knows) and apparently must get a citizenship, heck, I didn’t know nations were citizens, I thought they were nations - Well this is sitting awkwardly with me. I received several telegrams from people who I could only discern as wanting me to either join their group-hugging society or their fascist communal crypto-rape fest - needless to say, I was unimpressed with their efforts. Quite clearly I’m new to this.

So tell me… What, ah, what’s the deal here?

To put it simply, there are 2 sides to this game. One is the roleplay side, which is done In Character, meaning you have a nation and you answers the daily issue’s and/or play roleplay on these forums, and develop your nation as if it were real.

Then, there is the gameplay side. This is you playing as a person. Your nation is nothing more then a means to an end, and you as a person become a citizen of a region. Why? Because all these regions are essentially groups of players doing politics and power struggles. These off-site forums accommodate that part as well.

You are ingame an automatic member of the East Pacific, because all new nations start out in one of the pacifics: The Pacific, the North Pacific, the South Pacific, the West Pacific and the best pacific, namely us.

This is a very rudimentary explanation, but luckily we got a http://theeastpacific.com/forum/3588/ with a http://theeastpacific.com/forum/1000766/, as well as a http://theeastpacific.com/pages/faq/. A good place to take a look first is also the NationStates | Frequently Asked Questions, which contains the very basics you need to know.

All in all, Welcome to Nationstates and the East Pacific!

If you have more questions, shoot  I’m also the Chancellor (head) of the University here, so I’ll be glad to help you around.

EDIT: Also, yes it’s a lot and it all sounds very crazy. But It’ll become much more clear, just take it easy, read stuff, try to take a look around here and and ask questions. You’ll be alright soon enough.

This is all well and good Proff, but how do I know I’m in the right Region, what have you got to offer? Trawling through these FAQs sounds like a good idea. Here’s to Taking it Easy, cheers Proff. This library of yours better enable me access to the world’s best publications or else I might have to go down to my local.

The thing is we are a fairly large and very secure region with a lot of experienced players. You’ll be able to discover what things and aspects of the game you like to do and don’t like to do and we have sufficient people doing all kinds of stuff were you can join in. It’s up to you really, I can only invite you to take a look around and discover.

And yes, the library is a fairly complete collection of works and articles written by all kinds of players on various subjects.

Welcome to the region!
